This is in and for Hong Kong, so those in the US or whereever else will have to wait.
But releasing anywhere is good news right? we finally know it's actually coming out! and I happen to live in HK too
Thanks, I am very excited about this. Where did you find it?

will definitely be counting down everyday this week
It's about time!!! I've been eagerly awaiting this one!! As soon as it shows up for import on Expansys, I'm selling my 8.9 and snatching up the 7.7! Good riddance to the very disappointing Tegra 2 and hello again to the lovely Exynos!

And SAMOLED HD...don't forget the SAMOLED HD. Did I mention that it'll have a SAMOLED HD display?
I'm really excited about the 7.7" SAMOLED HD. That Super Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode, High Definition display is something to look forward to.

With SAMOLED+, Samsung moved away from PenTile. With SAMOLED HD they're moving back. You may want to see how well it performs on the Galaxy Nexus and if there are noticable jaggies before you get too excited.

The 7+ is also Exynos...
The Galaxy tab 7.7 is using super amoled plus hd. Unlike in note and nexus which is just super amoled hd.

I've already seen the Note, and PenTile was never an issue for my eyes with the original SGS for that matter. Gray blacks and crappy off-angle viewing that comes with most LCD displays, on the other hand, bug the **** out of me.
64gb. I want.

I just assumed it was HD vs. Plus because Samsung was quoted in a Korean article talking about how PenTile was supposedly fine on larger screens with higher resolutions. It's interesting that they used HD on the Nexus and Note. Everyone thought the Nexus was Plus also until the official specs came out. I guess we'll know soon from the event in HK.
gooooooooooooooood man thank you

Nope, it's invite only =(
However, the good news is, I checked the launch event of the Galaxy Note here in Hong Kong, it was November 8th, and the Note was available for sell in Hong Kong on November 11th, only 3 days later!
So here's hoping that 7.7 will be for sell within a few days of the launch
I also bought the note. More like a phone pda rather than a true tablet like the 7.7 which I will buy also. Anyone want to guess how much is it? It should be cheaper than the note correct? Hopefully they release it with 3G and not those lame wifi only models. I don't care if it 16GB it 64GB because it's going to be fantastic device. Their design is so damn sleek.
I suspect it will be the most expensive Android product Samsung sells. Exynos, 7.7" SAMOLED display, and premium metal construction won't be cheap.
I definetely want one, but can I afford it?

Exynos isn't the only selling point for me, but it's a big one!
My selling points on the 7.7:
Exynos
HD SAMOLED+
Thinner form factor
Metal construction
Exynos
Built-in GSM calling abilities (on the 3G model of course! Won't settle for less!)
Slightly bigger than 7" (I had the original before, and its screen was just a little bit too small for me, but only a little bit. 7.7 could be my magic number.)
HD SAMOLED+
In MongKok computer centre was trying to sell the Asus transformer this weekend because they know the prime is coming out. I really don't care about the quad core yet because I'm really interested in the 7.7's size and rich features. I suppose it should not be over 6500hkd.

They use a different screen for the 8.9?
The super pls screen is actually a beautiful screen. Best out right now imho. But the 8.9 using the same screen will increase ppi making the screen look even more crisp. Can't wait for the next generation of tabs

Does this mean they will start selling it, or not? Why do they only have a display unit?

The store manager sold it to me. He said that they opened it to look at it then returned it to the box. I didn't see any more on display or in the cage.
Considering how imminent the next generation tabs will appear, I see little to no point to buy this. It's just a waste of money to get a Tegra 2 based tab at this moment.

Not true. Higher DPI forces your eye muscles to contract more tightly to focus on the smaller text. This causes greater eye strain for any age. We have evolved not to look at such small concentrated areas which is why humans get eye strain to being with.

Samsung Galaxy S2 HD is a super-powered S2
By Luke Westaway on 26 September 2011, 5:11pm
Samsung will soon launch a new version of its brilliant Galaxy S2 Android phone. The Samsung Galaxy S2 HD will pack a 4.7-inch display and a 1.5GHz processor.
The bad news? At the moment, this souped-up smart phone is only coming to Samsung's native land of South Korea.
The S2 HD was announced alongside another new version of the S2 that has a 1.5GHz processor and 4.5-inch screen, with both phones packing LTE tech that makes them 4G-compatible.
We don't get 4G in the UK, just rubbish old 3G, so these particular versions won't be coming to our green and pleasant land. Normally, we don't report on phones that won't come to the UK, but we're making an exception in this case, because we reckon Samsung could well bring a 3G version of the S2 HD over here in the future.
We certainly wouldn't complain, because this monolithic mobile has a display with a resolution of 1,280x720 pixels, which makes it a high-definition mobile. That beats the iPhone 4's 960x640-pixel screen. With an 'HD Super AMOLED' display, we suspect the S2 HD will look blindingly good.
The S2 HD is 9.5mm thick, which is about a millimetre thicker than the Galaxy S2. It also packs a 1,850mAh battery, which is bigger than the S2's 1,650mAh offering.
In short then, the Galaxy S2 HD is like the Galaxy S2 but bigger and faster. We're not sure we can handle mobile telephony that potent this early in the week, but, Samsung, if you're reading, we desperately want to see this mobile hitting the UK.
The existing S2 is proving a fair old success meanwhile, having recently passed the 10 million sales milestone.
Do you want to see the Galaxy S2 HD breaking free and heading to the UK? Then say as much in the comments section below, or on our Facebook wall, and maybe Samsung will take notice.

As much as I like the specs of the souped up SG2 with 1.5ghz with HD display, the 4.7 inch screen is just too big for my tastes. Not sure about other people but the MAXIMUM I would take for a PHONE would probably be 4.5 inches.
Be nice to have it over here as well due to the HD screen but if i can be honest i rather wait for the S3 when that comes out...My phone is powerful enough as it is and if i want to push the cpu i can...So for someone who has not got the S2 this is good upgrade but for me i wait for the next big thing to be honest...
If only they could squeeze this resolution on a 4 - 4.3 inch display....
Apple did it, im sure samsung can do that aswell.
bye portability

and features LGU+ along with standard LTE
LGU+ is a proprietary LTE by LG only in Korea http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LG_U+

Yeah if it wasn't 4.7", it'd seem more luscious. For reals though, I love the baby too much to let go, even if I hear/read/see the sgs 3/nexus prime. (won't really know till it happens though. )

Record a concert with your phone? Yes, that was the primary goal of Samsung. Hey, there are ****loads of people who go to concerts not to enjoy the music, but to create low quality blurry pictures and videos waving their phones in the air. Damn you Samsung, you've failed.
Anyways, 4.7 is WAY to big for a phone. I'm not sure it can be called a phone anymore. I'd prefer 4" sharp personally. 4.3" is a bit too big for me.

Yes, but Samsung's Galaxy S series of phones have always had the latest and greatest features available at the time of their release. This shouldn't be any different.
Those features are going to become standard on high-end phones by mid-2012
Edit: Only thing I disagree with is the 2GHz. That's just not practical.
Transformer prime runs at 1.3-1.4?GHz on Tegra3 and gets ~8 hours of battery life. That's with a tablet-sized battery. GS3 probably will ship with 1.2GHz or something, and it'll be up to XDA devs to push it to its' potential.
I have a hard time getting excited about new Samsung phones, because it seems like they always take forever to get released in the US.
I'm guessing an unannounced SGS3 probably won't be available on US carriers for until Christmas time. By then it's no longer exciting.

That has like nothing on the sides to protect the screen. I'm not hating... I'm actually looking forward to the next in the GS line but I really hope that's just an early prototype.
should I use my upgrade for a GS2 or wait for the GS3?
waiting for the S3 is the better choice i think .Other information say that the Samsung Galaxy S3 is with Quadcore-CPU, ICS, HD-Display and 12-MP-Camera

It is "rumored" it will not release until later in the year..Q4 at the soonest... just learned that last night actually while checking out the Galaxy Note
Specs are being kept top secret and these guys at Samsung are very tight lipped about it.

1.4 GHz Exynos DC
10.1 Inch Screen (1280x800 Resolution)
Android 4.0
3 MP Cam
16GB/32GB/64 GB

Same specs as the Note, except for the camera. This has 3Mpixel camera as a main one. However, i still wouldn't buy it. The reason is portability.

Don't you think that's an overkill for a tiny screen? I think 1280x800 or 1600x900 is plenty...
Many 30 and 40'' tv's still have only 1366x768.
Always the same discussion. The difference here is that you so not sit 10 inches from that 40" TV. You usually sit 10 feet away. So the screen is bigger but also you are farther away.
Also we are forgetting the big difference between the 5.3" and 10.1" Note, the smaller one is a phone, has 3G radio.
The good thing about this announcement is that it has ICS on it, and, as the internal hardware is the same as the 5.3" Note, it means it should not take much time to get a ICS ROM for our note. They just have to add drivers for the phone and FM radio parts.

Agree with above
I was hoping it would be a new a15 processor, but sadly it seems that is not the case :-(
As great as the specs of the note are at present, they are going to be quickly over taken once the Snapdragon S4s and Tegra 3s start hitting the market.
Also the resolution of the screen, whilst acceptable, is going to look outdated in less than a month.
I know these are the perils of buying any high end android device, but I was hoping Samsung would be smart enough to be 1 step ahead. Seems not.
With Apple releasing a retina display for iPad 3 1280x800 is a bit underwhelming for a new tablet. It's not a penile screen though, so that differs from the note.

One great thing about it is the bundled Adobe photoshop touch and Adobe ideas software that you get for free. They look really nice, and they cost £6.99 or $9.99 each to buy on their own, so it's great to have them included.
Would it be really optimistic to hope that once the original note gets ICS, those apps will be added to the Samsung app store for note owners to download for free?... Pretty please Samsung?
since the the galaxy note has basically the same hardware.. i wonder if we can just interchange roms

Don't you think that's an overkill for a tiny screen? I think 1280x800 or 1600x900 is plenty...
Many 30 and 40'' tv's still have only 1366x768.

Nothing is over kill. I dont know why TV comparisons got into this but it makes no sense what so ever.

These tablets feel like a refresh, probably the real game changer is the rumored Tab/Note 11.6 which is probably on a separate event.
No AMOLED display? sigh
Even though AMOLED colors, dynamic range, and 'white balance' (too warm) stinks, but, i'm accustomed to its super contrasty fakeness
Well yeah, same name but bigger, dont think they will upgrade it so much
Can it make phone calls? If not, then I perfer the 7.7
great ! I need the phone with the same size !
Personally I'm quite excited by this.
GSM Arena have reported that its the same screen as the standard Galaxy Tab but with a different Digitizer to support the S-Pen, According to them its quite a bit quicker than the S-Pen running on the 5.3" so hopefully the ICS upgrade will be including the new drivers to upgrade the performance of the pen.
Other than that, its a fantastic idea. Sit in the office all day designing using your regular Photoshop Set-Up with a Wacom tablet, Then go home and chill on your sofa and continue your design using your 10.1" Wacom Powered Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 and then continue your work on the bus on your Wacom Powered 5.3" Samsung Galaxy Note 5.3.
This makes the device a designers paradise, I'm not a designer and I never will be... But I think this is a good shot by Samsung to try and take a device away from the regular Power-Users.

lol. "penile"?
Think i'll wait for ver2 to appear in 12 months or so - it may have a quadcore by then, which would make it a real powerhourse for photo editing RAW files striaght from camera.
Hey fellow Samsung Knights? I was really excited about the Note 10 until the leaks started rolling in and now I'm not even sure I want it anymore. I sure love me some s-pen action but at what cost. Other than said s-pen I see no reason to upgrade/switch to the Note 10.
I just wanted to hear from you guys in this community. Is the Note 10/Plus worth it?
Yes, not much of an upgrade, other than the storage being faster and front camera changing to pin hole centered.
Was gonna upgrade a couple months ago when it came out, but il stick to s10+ and wait for the s11. I don't use the pen and I have started using the aux input a lot since I have it again (came from OnePlus 6t)
Personally I upgrade every 2 years but interested to see what it brings. More excited for the tab s5 - s6 as I currently have the tab s3 and am looking to upgrade it.

Wouldn't going from 2 camera's to 1 be considered a downgrade if anything?

No, 6 is supposed to be announced along side the Note 10, which I believe is what they are referring to.

Depends on the user I guess. I have no use for 1 OR 2 of them on the front, so getting rid of the big oval eyesore on the S10 series would be an upgrade for me!

It's been a few generations now that the "next one" has never been "exciting enough" to upgrade in the first place. Same case it would be for the vast majority, jumping from S10+/Note 9 to Note 10(plus)!
Having said this, little things like UFS 3.0, 7nm Exynos 9825, ToF sensor, 45W charging, possibly a button-free overall design, no dedicated hardware bixby, hopefully an upgraded OneUI right outta box etc. actually do excite me. Hence will definitely buy the "plus" , also because I never skipped any "S" or "N".

Yes ment tab s6 it was referred to as the tab s5 till a leak a few weeks back suggested samsung would go to s6 now everyone is calling it that.
The Note 10 plus is looking better and better. SD 855+ apparently the cameras won't be the same as the s10 plus. 12GB /256GB as basic configuration. It's probably going to start at $1800 CAD. Good thing I held off buying the iPhone XS Max, still got 2 good kidneys. ?

I was not gonna get it but the $600 trade in had made it more appealing! I reserved it so il decide once the time comes
I miss the S-Pen. I am going to sell or trade in my S10+ for it.
I hazard a guess the Note 10 none Plus version will be a major flop.

I would tend to agree with you. If you want the Note you tend not to want the watered down version. Unless the price is really compelling which I doubt.
I know I want it, I'm just not sure I want it pre-ordered at full price since I don't see the trade in reservations on Samsung.com/ca it's a US only thing for now.

I was excited until I read that there will not be a headphone jack. Without the jack there probably won't be a FM radio either and I use both daily.
I would be more interested in the non plus Note 10 for the better size but TBH would be looking at it more as an S10+T than a Note.
Will the Note 10plus have 3d face unlock?

Just read a rumor that the SD note 10 is not getting the 855+ anymore. Just the regular 855

There's also a rumor that we might be getting the Exynos version. I guess we'll know for sure on the 7th!
