somewhy i can't change the baseband... mayable it's because im running freex10 2.2? i always get ''unknown baseband'' and when i do a factory rest nothing happens...
the rom probably doesn't support the baseband you are flashing.....
so would the original se's rom's support 2.0.49 or 2.0.52?

yeah it should for sure....
You could flash the baseband patch to fix the problem as well in case you want to use a different baseband with a 2.2 rom then recommended
but i am now using the original 2.1 2.1.A.0.435 and after i flash .49 it still says Unknown...

you can use .55 or .58 on froyo miui, just flash the baseband patch!!
or look for rendeiro's baseband collection thread and flash .49 or .52 with flashtool
Try cobs miui you can use .49/.52, or his has the patch included in the downloaded file if you want to use .54 , .55 or .58. Killer rom too, no bugs and fast as hell

Help with 3G in my x10i
Hello, I want to flash my xperia. I have an x10i with the original 2.1 2.1.A.0.435 with tmobile.. but Im using the hanset in Colombia with comcel, so 3G doesnt work.
I wonder if by flashing my hanset could I get 3G? what do I have to do?.
Also I would like a generic flash so when the gingerbread update arrives I could use SEUS for the update. Is it possible?. If I put a new rom in my hanset , is it possible to go back to the original handset?

No, 3G will not work because the phone does not have the necessary hardware.
I have a Rogers Xperia Play that I am using unlocked, rooted on AT&T. I haven't unlocked the bootloader.
I flashed to the .184 UK firmware as per this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1116090
So now I'm on
Android Version: 2.3.3
Build number 3.0.1.A.0.145
Model Number: R800i (was R800a before flashing the firmware).
Rooted.
My question is: if I want to factory reset the phone, do I go the regular way of going into Settings --> Privacy --> Factory Data Reset? Or do I do something else since I am rooted?
TIA!
Would also like to know this aswell.
and what if a new firmware comes out? Can we just update OTA? or do we have to factory reset and redo the whole root process?
If its already been flashed with the UK firmware and you do a factory reset it would most likely just revert back to UK factory, that's what makes the most sense to me

That's what I needed to know. I've known some android devices to get stuck in boot-loop or even bricked if you do a standard factory data reset and if the phone is rooted, so I wanted to know in this case what would work.
yep, everything worked fine for me after the factory data reset! I only lost my root access, that's all
Well if you want to return it to official rogers state you will have to flash the rogers FTF file.

Will I use Flashtool for that?
I thought you could use the SEUS to restore it?
Yes you'll use the flashtool to flash back to Rogers, you can repair with seus but it will just fix what you got on the phone it won't go find the Rogers fw and flash it it goes by region whatever region fw you have now seus will fix only that

Hello.
I just downloaded the OTA update from the google servers (VQ8PQk_V.zip) and applied it.
My baseband version appeared as "Unknown", so, in my infinite wisdom, I decided to flash the XXKF1-GRK39F radio through fastboot.
The problem is that it's been stuck at "writing 'radio'..." for more than 15 mins now. What should I do?
EDIT:
I have a NANDROID backup from just before the update. If I pull out the battery and restore it, will my radio restore, too?
...why don't you flash radio via recovery ?
Ok, I solved it. Here's how:
-since I was stuck at "writing 'radio'..." I did a battery pull.
-installed the Android 2.3.6/GRK39F/XXKF1 Radio/KA3 Bootloader Flashable rom from the ALL-OTA thread.
-restored my nandroid backup
Everything's back to normal and I'm back on 2.3.6. Gonna wait for the official i9023. For a moment there, I thought I ruined my phone.
I have tried a couple of custom roms since I got this phone, but I'm not completely comfortable with everything.
huh....funny enough, I applied the update again, and this time the radio updated properly. everything works fine
Hi
I am using a Nexus S I9023 (India). I just updated my phone to 4.0.3 using the ROM file downloaded from XDA today. Now, there is no signal, it doesn't even read my sim card. It says the same msg under Baseband version, "unknown". except this everything else seems to work fine. I have not taken any back also before the upgrade.
Please help.
I do have the same problem: My Nexus S i9023 had 2.3.6 Stock ROM and after the Update, the Baseband/Network/IMEI/etc is UNKNOWN. How can I get back 2.3.6.?

Use fastboot to flash custom recovery. And then flash the full stock 2.3.6 and await the OTA.

The ota you are flashing patches the radio KF1, you guys are probably are on a different radio and the radio doesn't patch correctly.
This is the full rom ota 4.0.3, just flash and everything will work http://android.clients.google.com/packages/ota/google_crespo/ZD3PyN0t.zip[/QUOTE]

you sir are correct. Fixes my signal issues
Sorry for the noob question as I can't seem to easily find the answer through search but how do you flash the this other 4.0.3 rom? Running ICS already from the other rom (VQ8PQk_V.zip).
Can I just do this again using the fastboot? Although I've tried going back to recovery and it doesn't work, as has been stated in the forum. The fixes for the recovery look complicated and require rooting (I think). I haven't rooted my i9023 yet.

Hey
I understand that your problem is fixe. I have the same problem still can you please guide me on how to solve this problem please.
Thanks.
Hello, same problem for me but and I don't understand what is the solution...
Some says flash custom recovery, some just flash with the ZD3PyN0t.zip... and I don't even know what flashing is (if it requires rooting or not) mine is not as you can imagine...
Can someone guide me a little please ? Don't want to break my phone more than it is !
I have a nandroid backup of my Stock firmware which was 2.3.6
But two days ago, I flashed to Froyo using RSDLite so I could install MIUI
But even the pikachu edition didn't fix the battery bug so I decided to revert back to my nandroid backup but the phone wouldn't boot (which im guessing is because the phone was then on froyo kernel)
So I downloaded a gingerbread SBF from one of the threads here and flashed using RSDlite, and which turned out to be 2.3.4. This is giving me a lot of bugs(most of the apps don't open after few hours of usage). I still have my nandroid backup of my stock 2.3.6 ROM
So my question is:
Can I change my kernel to 2.3.6's version and restore my original nandroid backup?? If so can anyone please link me to the proper kernel
Thanks!
Try the Kernel from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1494231
Thanks, but right now im on 2.3.4. So should i flash this kernel?

Guys i have flashed my arc s with many custom roms and i flashed basebands and kernels and all such stuffs.
I wanted to know now if i want to make my phone back to like it was out of box, should i just flash the firmware via flashtools?
Will everything be same like new? (Baseband, Kernel)
Wifi, 3g etc everything will be normal like before just by flashing a official generic rom (Not to flash baseband or kernel or so?)
Thank you

If your bootloader is locked, you can use Sony Update Service.
If bootloader is unlocked, you cannot use the Update Service, you would only have Flashtool left to flash a stock ROM on your phone.
