Guys i have flashed my arc s with many custom roms and i flashed basebands and kernels and all such stuffs.
I wanted to know now if i want to make my phone back to like it was out of box, should i just flash the firmware via flashtools?
Will everything be same like new? (Baseband, Kernel)
Wifi, 3g etc everything will be normal like before just by flashing a official generic rom (Not to flash baseband or kernel or so?)
Thank you

If your bootloader is locked, you can use Sony Update Service.
If bootloader is unlocked, you cannot use the Update Service, you would only have Flashtool left to flash a stock ROM on your phone.

somewhy i can't change the baseband... mayable it's because im running freex10 2.2? i always get ''unknown baseband'' and when i do a factory rest nothing happens...
the rom probably doesn't support the baseband you are flashing.....
so would the original se's rom's support 2.0.49 or 2.0.52?

yeah it should for sure....
You could flash the baseband patch to fix the problem as well in case you want to use a different baseband with a 2.2 rom then recommended

Help with 3G in my x10i
Hello, I want to flash my xperia. I have an x10i with the original 2.1 2.1.A.0.435 with tmobile.. but Im using the hanset in Colombia with comcel, so 3G doesnt work.
I wonder if by flashing my hanset could I get 3G? what do I have to do?.
Also I would like a generic flash so when the gingerbread update arrives I could use SEUS for the update. Is it possible?. If I put a new rom in my hanset , is it possible to go back to the original handset?

No, 3G will not work because the phone does not have the necessary hardware.
firmwares for Sony Ericsson arc can download from WotanClient
Honest, I do not know What's new in Version now I will be downloading now.

I disagree, I flash this ROM yesterday and she is very fast and have a new baseband.
You have to clean the bloatware first, but after that she is very good.
I am going to test the battery and baseband today, but so for, so good.

I did flash this rom with wotan but failed to root it with DooMLoRD_v3.
my arc-s is not flashable via wotan or sony software, only via recovery and .zip images.....
so is there a way to convert the dlded files from wotan to get useable files for recovery?

Hi, from version 2.3.5 (only few days old) Wotan DOES support flashing all xperias with unlocked bootloader too. (simple - Wotan can flash any xperia now - with locked or with unlocked bootloader (unlocked by official tool or by testpoint)

Nice work!
Quick question for you, will the bootloader and firmware updates persist after custom ROM updates or will I need to reflash each time?
for example, I'm running CarbonRom at the moment which is based on JSS15Q - I've flashed this zip without any problems but will I need to reflash it when I install the next nightly?
Cheers

Yeah, I should have been clearer as well - I was basically checking that custom roms don't flash the bootloader (I'd assumed that a factory restore / ota update would)

Quick queastion , I was on JSS15J when stock, flashed ROM that says now JLS36C. If I flash this will it erase everything and do I even need to? Thanks for the help.
It won't erase any user data. Whether you want to flash is up to you. You'll get it automatically if you wait for jls36g ota.

Today, the long-awaited update Android 4.4.4 for Sony Xperia™ Z2 is released.
Rejoice!
But, installing this update will overrun the root access. Root access will be gone. So, how to root 23.0.1.A.0.167 FW on Sony Xperia™ Z2?
I'm gonna try the same old "Easy Root Tool" and see what happens. Any ideas would be good!
-EDIT-
Do you want to update your Sony Xperia™ Z2 to 4.4.4 but don't want to lose root? Don't worry, you won't! Click "here"
Credits to @niaboc79
Also, thanks to @funky0308 and @Envious_Data for their work
-EDIT 2-
I got root on 4.4.4 on my own, using this guide, credits @norti
@niaboc79 's pre-rooted ROM was based on Generic RU and the NC feature wasn't working on it. So I wanted to download a brand new FTF with my customization number and followed the steps on the guide.
ZBAM!
Got my own .167 (4.4.4) ROM (Generic DE) with root on my Sony Xperia™ Z2.
we will find a way...
but you should definitely put question mark in title...
we are lucky to have older fw (I'm talking for LB, z3 can't be downgrade and they will have problems to root 4.4.4. I believe we could use older fw to root fw and to upgrade keeping root...
I'll upgrade later today and will try few things...

I doubt...
Sony patched all those security holes and all those methods should be updated.
Of course, someone should try...
Can anyone confirm he upgraded D6503 to 4.4.4?
Wouldn't downloading the update through PC companion and making an ftf/downloading an ftf and then pre-rooting the firmware work? We have recovery for the phone so a pre-rooted flashable firmware should work without working exploits right?

You wouldn't even need to do that.
1) Root .314 firmware.
2) Install locked bootloader recovery.
3) Make a pre-rooted firmware of the 4.4.4 build.
4) Install the firmware through recovery.

Is it for the D6502 or D6503? If I was able to update my D6503 to 4.4.4 I would have done it but I have been plagued with the same problem as all the other D6503 owners. I'm just going to wait for a UK unbranded pre-rooted firmware (or a UK unbranded ftf, whatever comes first).
Hey guys as you know a new build 32.4.A.1.54 with September security patch is out for our Xperia Z3+.
Hence enjoy the stock kernel with features:
1. Sony RIC- disabled.
2. DM-Verity- disabled.
3. TWRP- enabled.
4. DRM Fix- enabled.
5. Superuser / root- Not present. (just flash magisk its better and device also passes safety net).
6. Busybox- Not present
Note: This is tested by me and works fine ,hence I assure it will work for your single sim E6553 Z3+ also. But flash the same at your own risk,I won't be responsible if anything goes wrong.
Don't flash on dual sim device

You can flash the 32.4.A.1.54 build rom on locked bootloader with flashtool as this is stock rom but you do have to unlock bootloader to flash the kernel.
Unlocking bootloader is very easy, just backup your drm keys first and Google and learn the process.
Good luck.

Yes you can flash this with flashtool, this is a stock untouched ftf from official Sony's server.
But for your convenience while flashing untick all the boxes in the wipe section, so that you can upgrade to ver 7.1 without loosing any data.
