Try to put recovery.img from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1288223.......
just check if image folder contains all necessary files other than recovery.img.
thank you krish_nank,
I do not touch any files on the image partition. the main problem is, that my phone doesn't do anything and so I can't mount the device and drives. When I connect the phone to the charger it doesn't charge, the LED doesn't light up. I can't go to the pink screen. Is there any way to connect the phone when it is offline? Or is there any hard reset function.
Thank you!
Bye

Try to keep mobile connected to PC via USB for few minutes then try to go to Pink screen mode.......
Hello krish_nank,
I try everything, but no way the LED doesn't light up neither with the charger nor with the PC. But I'll try it again in the evening.
Any other ideas?

That's really stupid. Why do you do that without a backup?
Thank you But I've a backup, but I can't use it when the device doesn't start or is there a way to get access on an device wich isn't switch on?

What's happended, when you connect your phone over usb to your computer?
What kind of backup do you have?
How did you do the backup?
Can you see some drives in your filemanager?
Let me explain. When I connect my unrooted phone to my computer, I see 5 drives. In the attached picture you can see the important drives and its filesystems. Please have a look at column "Einhängepunkt" to see it.
Perhaps this URL will you help a bit.

2) Turn on your phone while holding VOL+ and VOL- (should come up with pink/purple screen)

Are you able to reach the pink/purple screen?
Have you tried taking the battery out?
Best regards,

Hello Ponder Stibbons,
I can't turn on my u8800, that's my problem and that's the reason why I sent it to the service. I've backup 1:1 copy of the drives and one backup from recovery mode. There is no response when I connect the phone to the pc. When I connect there is no LED light on the same with charger. I dont know why but I think its a hardware problem. I've a second android handy, the samsung galaxy spica and I've no problems with this device and I've root it with many mods. what I'll say I'm not a beginner with root and mod an android device. I'll talk about the error when I#ve back my device from the service.
So long and thank you.
Best regards

Hello all,
I've got the information from service, that the mainboard of the phone was changed ;-)

Try this:
Check if you have AutoMount in your app drawer (if you have a Mattc build then you should). If you don't, then download it, it's called- Auto Mount Your SD Card made by JR Studio.
Unplug your phone
Open the Auto Mount App
Check Enable SD Card Auto-Mounting and exit the app
Plug the phone in
You should now see it in my computer or finder (mac) as a removable drive.
Works for me, hope it works for you.

Oh, so simple, let prepare a formatted SD card, make a folder named "dload", copy the update.app in to the dload folder.
Insert the SDcard in to you phone, press Vol + and Vol - and Power button, waiting for the installing completed, remove battery for 5s then put it in you phone and switch on.
no thing done

So doing a favor for a friend that ran over his tablet by accident. (Dont ask)
Screen is smashed to bits of course however tablet can turn on and gets into APEX mode when plugged up to a PC. Can I retrieve pics off of internal memory or is everything all lost.
Any input is helpful thanks!!
If u only have apx mode then perhaps not...if u hook up to yr pc can u not see the files with win explorer...the Acer drivers need to be installed tho
Sent from my HTC_PN071 using Tapatalk
You can maybe use read/rawdeviceread to extract the data in APX mode, and then loopback mount the filesystem on a Linux system.

If it will boot normally but the screen is smashed, then just hook it up to and HDMI monitor. Then you can move stuff to an SD card. If it also boots, you can just hook it up to a PC.

These are arguments for nvflash.
You should be able to find some examples of how to use nvflash here on the forum.
If its just a smashed screen try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2786395
