Google Music Beta & Cm7.1.0 - EVO 4G General

Hello,
I have the latest version (3.0.1) of Google Music installed on my HTC EVO 4G running CM7.1.0.
Whether I am connected to Wi-Fi, 3G, or 4G, the music doesn't play (download) from Google. I can't play any songs that are stored in the cloud. Sometimes, I get the error "failed to stream music"
How do I get this to work with my phone?
Thanks for your time!
Also, how do I uninstall the older version of Google Music that was part of the gapps?

Try posting in the correct section, that should get it to work lol

I'm sorry!
Can a moderator please move this thread to the correct sub-forum? Thanks!

Try clearing app data and cache idk if it'll help but that's what I always do when it starts acting up on me

If you are a flashaholic like me you may need to log into Google Music on the PC and deauthorize a few devices in Settings. I have the same problem after flashing a bunch of ROMs. It sees different ROMs as different devices.

Had the same problem. Aparently I forgot to reinstall adobe flash player after a fresh install of CM7. Check to see if Flash player is installed.

Hello,
Thank you for all of the useful tips! Sorry for the delayed response!
- Removed all of the authorized devices
- Cleared the App Data
- Flash Player was installed
Now it works! Thanks so much!

How does one clear the app data? I am having the same problems on my inspire 4g

settings-applications-manage. Find your app, then hit clear cache and clear data.

Thanks got it and after all of those things it finally works. I think is was the fact that I tried a lot of roms before settling on cm7 so I had multiple devices.

Uhm..
Search the Market.
This is a pointless thread.
i think a more relevant thread would be "are all these music download apps safe?"
i've used Music Downloader Pro a few times but i'm nervous that i'll get a virus or something.
Google for music junk...

Camera failure

Recently, my camera is failing to save any image that is taken. I've tried every camera app I could find and several different roms including fission 2.4.3 and gummyjar 2.5
Can anyone help me with this? Any help is greatly appreciated
The problem started after I updated from fission 2.2.2 to 2.3.1. I posted the problem on their board and I got no response

Does your other media work like camcorder, music, etc?
The camcorder doesn't work. Most video playback works, but youtube doesn't. I don't use my phone for music, so I don't know about that.

99% sure you need to update your system. I hate to be a jerk, but this question is asked often. Therefore, I'm going to default to: search is your friend (Google or forum).

Does updatimg the system mean updating the kernal? Iv tried some research n I dont understand the benift, aLso, to update the kernal do u just install the zip under bootlaoder?
Have you messed with the DCIM folder on your SD card? Such as opened it and accidenctly sorted by date or size? I did that once and my cam wouldn't save a pic...let a lone even open the app. So I hooked my phone to computer and ascended the date from old to newest. meaning the newest pic was at the bottom of the folder. unhooked and rebooted phone and all was fine... just my two...

Watching rented movies from market using google videos

Hi. I've looked everywhere for the answer but cannot find anything relevant. I downloaded a movie through market rental. Went to google videos to watch it. But I've tried several methods and keep getting the following message:
"There was a problem while playing (31)"
Tried force stop, phone restart, reinstall app etc.
Any suggestions would be greately appreciated.
Thanks again.

I thought I remember something on movies from google not working on rooted devices. Not sure if it does a check for SU app. Might be able to rename it and have it work?

I remember hearing about that too. Not sure if the error message in the OP is referring to the root condition. But Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper (available on the Market or on XDA) might help. It has the option to temporarily unroot the device.
There was a fix for this a few months back, Try searching for it on PocketNow.com
Sorry guys I forget to mention that I am on official rom, no root.

The Archos, however, is rooted.

It's a APP problem, not a kernel issue...
I have this too... I think after installing the chrome app...
Do you have the chrome app?
I've only had this happen while running Miui gingerbread roms. Which rom/kernel are you using?
I HAVE THE FIX. Go so settings>apps>all apps (you will have to scroll the bar over to see this option)>download manager (not "downloads")>clear data. Should fix it.

With gb miui, that only worked for one or two downloads, then the behavior would return.
Not sure which rom the op is running, but that was the case with some gb roms. Luckily, I've long since upgraded to ics and no longer have that issue.
Same here but it gets annoying having to clear data a few times a day

I agree, it sucks (I'm using ICS rom.)
I usally try to download using another browser(firefox beta) when download fails.
It is a lot better than clearing app's data.

I use 5 different browsers then download the file using 1 browser at a time. So far. Most of the time the browser that least use do the job. In my case Mozilla Firefox

[Q] [SOLVED] AOSP CM10.1 [KANG] and Google Play Music Issues

[SOLVED]
Ok, I figured it out. In trying to be proactive about making sure Google Play Music would work, I read another thread that said to disable Apollo. That was actually causing the problem, which I should have figured. I enabled Apollo and Google Play Music works just fine. My bad, everyone.

I'm not sure if it's just me that is having this problem, but I'm using albinoman887's AOSP CM10.1 [KANG] ROM and I really like it a lot. It's sleek and it hasn't been bugging out for me like it has for other people... that is, until I decided to use the Google Play Music app for my music.
For some reason, after I installed that app, it just keeps force closing and having errors. I tried other forum's solutions like disabling Apollo, clearing Apollo's data and cache, uninstalling GPM, reinstalling GPM, and rebooting and it still doesn't work.
Has this been happening with anyone else and is there a fix?
(also, I apologize if this isn't the place to ask this question)

I guess you should try a different rom and see if the problem is still there. If it is, double check and flash another rom. If it's still there flash a stable GB rom. Now if it is STILL there. Then your screwed

Thanks! I felt a bit sheepish after I got it working. :silly: BTW, is there a way to close out this thread? I put SOLVED all over it but I don't see the option to close it out. Maybe a moderator needs to do that.
