Watching rented movies from market using google videos - G2 and Desire Z General

Hi. I've looked everywhere for the answer but cannot find anything relevant. I downloaded a movie through market rental. Went to google videos to watch it. But I've tried several methods and keep getting the following message:
"There was a problem while playing (31)"
Tried force stop, phone restart, reinstall app etc.
Any suggestions would be greately appreciated.
Thanks again.

I thought I remember something on movies from google not working on rooted devices. Not sure if it does a check for SU app. Might be able to rename it and have it work?

I remember hearing about that too. Not sure if the error message in the OP is referring to the root condition. But Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper (available on the Market or on XDA) might help. It has the option to temporarily unroot the device.

There was a fix for this a few months back, Try searching for it on PocketNow.com

Sorry guys I forget to mention that I am on official rom, no root.

Did you find a solution?
I have the same error message on my Archos 70 IT, when I try to stream "Transformers 3" in the app "Google Play Movies".
The Archos, however, is rooted.

Netflix App just auto updated. I have been able to open and play 3 movies.
Wanted to make sure everyone knew that I am not a dev. I did not make this nor did I modify the official app.
I originally used this as a queue manager but noticed that when I opened it today it auto updated.
You can find the APK here.
Its in a zip. Do not flash. its one of my quirks to zip everything.

Very interesting, has anyone tried this?
Still Not working for me
Tried this earlier tonight. I could not find an update for my already installed Netflix app. Netflix was still throwing up the server error when trying to stream.
I did not try the zip file nor did I attempt to download it.
I had tried and if you look across the net apparently it was working for evo's and eventually netflix shutem down lol. awesome though should be sooner than later that we get a working app for netflix.
I tried this as well, no luck but I did get an email knocking off 3% from Netflix because I couldn't get on.

Google videos?? Offline??

So I am trying to download videos to watch offline for a trip, tomorrow, to my unrooted tablet and I keep getting error 49 not supported on rooted devices. I getting so pissed I want to throw it, I'm NOT ROOTED. I'm unrooted with market and videos up to date and also tried without updates to no avail. My question is it supposed to work unrooted? If I root and run the hacked videos apk will it allow me to download then? Thanks for input in advance

Market saying I purchased an app, but I didnt

I went to download tapatalk from the market, but it says 'Purchased'. I haven't used this app before and cannot purchase/install it because of this.
Any ideas what I can do to solve this?

Try clearing market data.

This only ever happened to me when I used a pirated version of an app first, then tried to buy it. I like to try the app before I waste my money...lol...I can't remember if doing wat mentioned above worked or not tho.

had the same issue with swiftkey. it says i purchased it, but i didn't. but i could install it anyway
Try disabling automatic restore, and then clearing market data and cache to see if that helps.

Huh ???? !!!!
I find it hard to believe Android paid app security is done on the phone !
I can understand perhaps the Market app getting confused, but that shouldn't let you update an app that was installed as a pirate version.
I develop apps and I've never been able to update my paid app from the Market after "sideloading" my app.
And customers who bought via Paypal outside of the Market are never able to update via the Market.

I know, but I didnt even have any credit card registered, ive tried the same thing on other apps but it doesnt work, i dont think that it was because of the ROM that I got it free but maybe an error occured at that time or something

Tried everything mentioned here. Even after flashing a new rom, it still says I purchased it. Even if I go to market.android.com on my laptop, it says I purchased it, but does not allow me to download it.
I downloaded a pirated version of the app so I could try it out for more than 15 minutes, I liked it so I went to purchase it, but with no luck!
Try to unchain the app from Market using Titanium Backup, then try to purchase it once again.

Try to downgrading your Market and then purchase. I did something like that with a app.
Sent from my HTC Desire HD using xda premium
The only way it will work is if you create a new gmail account. There is NO other way, no matter how many times you clear data, or use Titanium to remove the app or downgrade market, it will always say you purchased.
Market enabler will also not work.
EDIT: Try this though. Flash the ROM, and when signing into your gmail acc un check the box that says keep this phone backed up with my google account. Do not restore previous backups.
I recently emailed Android Market Support Team, I had exact same issue. This is what I got in reply.
Hi Michal,
Thanks for writing in and for letting us know about this issue - we're aware that some users are seeing apps as "Purchased" but are getting a "Download declined" error. We're presently investigating this issue and will update you as soon as we have more information. I may be requesting further information about the circumstances of this issue, and I really appreciate your continued patience and cooperation in resolving this situation. If you have any further questions, please let me know.

Same issues here
Hopefully this gets resolved soon!
Been itching to play Order & Chaos... tried installing a "cracked" version a while ago, didn't work too well on my phone then. Now I have the Samsung GN and want to give it a try... says 'Purchased' and gives me that error
I have the same issue. This has especially been happening with Market v3.4.4. If you sideload an apk then sometimes Market registers it with your account as purchased but when it tries to access the app it declines as there's no actual purchase. I emailed Market support and got the same reply. It doesn't happen with all apps but with a few. It's quite a random occurrence. No way to reproduce it each time and no way to fix it from our side. It's a Google side issue.
Also, I'm not very sure, but I've experienced this problem with a few apps distinctly after restoring a backup using MyBackup Pro. Maybe it is something to do with batch restoring Market links, when you include apps that you haven't downloaded from Market. During regular usage of my phone, even with sideloading apps, I haven't noticed the issue repeating with any other apps. I only remember it happening after a restore.

Have the same problem with Swiftkey x. Shows up in the market as purchased when it wasn't.
But as I really like it I wanted to purchase it properly, but can't thru the market.
I've since purchased it thru AndroidIt App.
So all good now but any updates have to be done thru AndroidIt app as the market still says I've purchased it then says can't download cause i haven't purchased it!!!!
Pep
I have the same issue with Cut the rope and Mincraft PE. I want to support the developers and get updates but now I can't!
I've experienced the same issue before... but I was able to purchase from market.android.com site.

Registered just to say how i solved the problem of Swiftkey X on my galaxy ace. I uninstalled market updates, in manage applications, then go directly to Android market and purchase it, make sure the Market app doesn't automatically update before you try.

Android Market - Can't Buy Software - Says I already bought it

I was trying to download Facedroid - Purchase it - and it said I already purchased it and won't install. I went to applications and uninstalled the updates for the market but no go. I did read through some of the posts on similar topics here but didn't seem applicable. Any ideas??

Which ROM are you on? maybe you can clear caches and give it another shot ......
Just a thought... are you using go launcher? They recently fixed a problem where icons were not showing up for installed apps. My thinking here is its already installed but you just can't see it.
If this its the case, install the update for go launcher. goto settings and manage apps and uninstall the program you're wanting. then go back to the market and get it again and it wont hide from you anymore.
I'm probably a mile off base, so onto the next suggestion if I am.
If you can read this it was sent using my GT-P7510.
I'm running stock OS. No changes. I am running ADW though. I went and cleared cache and removed updates for the Market. Odd....it says I purchased it even on the internet linked site so that leads me to believe it's my profile with Google.
Funny enough...I don't mind trying apps, but if I want it, I'll buy it. I wanted this app and was trying to pay for it and Puff the Magic Dragon showed up!! No app for you, come back...one year!
Try closing ADW and see if it shows up in the stock app drawer.
Did you remove your credit/debit card off your google wallet/checkout account? I did that once and had the same problem. Once i added and verified my mastercard, i was able to download again.
same problem here, (even) the (web) market thinks I've already bought the app and I can't buy it anymore
Im havimg the same problem. I cant purchase swiftkey, says on the apps page i purchased it, but when i click install it says i didnt purchase the app.

The Opposite
I get the opposite, Market tells me I purchased an app correctly then tells me when I ask to install it that I did not purchase it, lol
What a joke Market is
Got a reply from the android market people they said it's a known problem for some apps and are working on it

I'm actually having the same issue, but it's with downloading ADWLauncher EX itself. The market website thinks I've purchased it, but I haven't. I sideloaded ADW first, to see how well it works. Deleted it, tried to purchase it, not working. Cleared cache, uninstalled, reinstalled, rebooted, everything. It has to be an issue with the market itself. So, yeah. Just a small confirmation.

HBO Go

I am trying to use the HBO Go app but it does not show the video, I do hear sound. I am rooted on d801 using clean Rom xe on mobile. Is this an issue with the phone, the Rom or something else?

The app sucks...take a look at the reviews. CinemaxGo app sucks too. Same company handling both apps. Trust me, it's not the device. Frustrating over here as well

When an app acts funky I always temporarily un-root, but I always re-root before I reboot. It's a pain, but about the only way some apps will run. Do the following to temporarily un-root.
Try an app called "hide my root" you must hide your "SU binary" and uninstall the super user app. Then run HBO GO/ whatever app is not working. After using the app go back to "hide my root" and restore SU binary and reinstall super user app.
I do not have HBO GO, but I have to do this procedure to play my ultraviolet movies and play some EA games.
I am currently running the rooted stock OTA rom. Good luck.
