[Q]CM7 not charging when radio's on (Atrix) - Atrix 4G General

When I use my car charger the atrix simply wont charge if I have wifi, bluetooth, sync or (cellular) network activated. they all have to be de-activated (I use the built in powerbar for cm7) for the phone to actually charge in the car.
This isn't a problem with charging on computer or from a wall socket.
My job requires I use GPS and DATA all the time so i may end up flashing a new rom before work just so my phone doesn't die during my shift.
However CM7 is by far the best rom I have ever used and I really would like to figure out a fix.

Try!No incoming calls&gprs data when in docking station!

Hi all, after months of try&error and buying 2 (TWO!) MDAs (Wizard & Charmer) i finally found out WHY sometimes GPRS data flow stops and no incoming calls will be put throught (they land on mailbox):
It's the docking stations! Just let me explain that a little bit more: Both Wizard & Charmer will be delivered without any docking stations, so I bought two different on Ebay + one active holder from Brodit for my car.
After I put Wizard or Charmer in one of the docking station it's necessary to call 2 or 3 times until the call gets through, also in the car (Brodit), and - GPRS data flow, that means even I'm connected (2 GPRS arrows are there), stops after 2 or 3 minutes. I see that with a network monitor called Phatnet (very recommended!)
So now comes the real scurillic thing: If I use the original AC adapter from T-Mobile nothing of the above happens... GPRS data packets flow hours and hours without any breaks, and calls come through.
The docking station definitly loads the devices, but it takes longer. So here's my conclusion: The AC Adapters and the car adapter give to little current for the radio part in the devices - sounds strange, but I have no other ideas.
So now what? Try yourself please, anyone who owns Wizard or Charmer and some other AC adapters than the originals should tell here - it's easy, just put the devices in, surf a little bit for just a couple of minutes and you'll see surfing stops. It's not dependend of the loading status (orange or green led).
I tried different Rom updates, different devices and now it seems that power is the reason, really annoying. Tell us your experience!
Yours B.

Must be a Charmer/Wizard flaw as my Magician doesn't act at all like this.
What I really don't understand is how you can even make a phonecall or use gprs when there's no original AC-adapter connected to your device, when a car charger doesn't give you enough current to have the radio operating as it should be. So your devices must be pretty crap then lol.
I think the cradle's are somehow interfering with the radio. The current can't be the main issue, otherwise the device wouldn't be functioning on a battery only. Guess it comes in a strange state, I noticed that my magician doesn't hold a gprs connection while Act.Sync is running, maybe this is something simular.
But it sure must be a pain in the rear bottom I agree to that.
M
Well there's some additional information I researched:
When connecting the device to the original AC adaptor it does NOT switch on the display, when connecting to the cradle it does. So the pinout of the connector must be different and Wizard/Charmer maybe (half way) believes that it has been connected to USB of a PC, but not in a defined state. Remember that my docking station IS NOT connected to a PC, it's only there for power.
Somebody maybe knows the pinout of the delivered USB sync cable and the AC adaptor?

Titan Won't Charge or Connect to PC

Hi,
One day when I was using my Titan as a GPS (TomTom 6.0) in my car using an aftermarket charger, all of a sudden, the charge light doesn't turn on anymore. Ever since then, my Titan doesn't charge using USB cable or any other charger. I have even tried connecting my Titan to the computer to see if I can establish a connection... but have ultimately failed.
I want to know if anyone has experienced this. Can someone tell me what's going on? My Titan is running in very low batteries now and I'm afraid I won't be able to do anything if it ultimately dies out!
Thanks,
Don

Check the prongs on the USB port on the phone. One is probably whacked and not making a connection. There are pictures of this issue some where just google it. If you can't get all the prongs to line up then it is time for a new phone.

wifi amplifer for HTC HD2,is it possible?

I have an htc hd2 I wanna amplifer my wici signal, anybody know is it possible?I bought a wireless usb adaptor for my laptop it is call Gsky 500mw.it is able to get 10 times mor signal and stronger than normaly. Can i do something els with my htc?
Thanks a lot!
good idea, but the current amps use to much power for it to work for long periods, wifi kanes the battery anyways and adding an amp to it would just kill it an hour ot two.
but...
you can make sure that your using the full power of builtin wifi by making sure that it isnt set to battery use over speed
my tg01, and my old diamond, i had the option to change the power of wifi for better battery times versus faster transmission and connectivity.
have a mooch around if you havent already done this, its on the powersave app normally. or performance?
or...
you could make an external antennae of sorts, it might work, but getting like 2 feet of copper wire and twisting it so it looks like a rectangle and affixing this on the back of your phone somehow, the phones wifi might gain more amptitude if can piggyback on something....or it might restrict your wifi usage somehow? i dont know,
have fun
No any plug for antenna at Back of my phone. It has only 1 micro usb 1 for the head set.I dont care if its eat my battery so fast I'm not gonna use my internet for long. And I dont care if a nedd to plug 2-3 feet cable.Because I wanna reach a wifi ruoter what is maybe far away from me.Thanks a lot!
no there wont be an antenna plug, youll have to take the back off, and remove the metal plate to access the htc wifi adapter, and solder or otherwise hold an antenna cable to that.
by the way, this WILL VOID your waranty. also its not the easiest task going...
kk most phones dont have wifi ant. plugs as they are not needed
but...
i remember seeing on ebay some time ago these little clear stickers with some copper wire etched into it to boost the 2g/3g signal, these were not directly affixed to the phones arieal in anyway, they literally were stickers you put under the battery ( so they are close to the phones builtin radio) and they boosted signal that way.
maybe a similar thing would work? if two wires are close enough but not touching they can both share the same signal ( try this with speaker cable,it works)
it works because all cables emit a sort of interference (apart from the noise free type) and if these interferences mix you get mixed results but maybe it could enhance your signal.
we need some experiments on this i think, anyone up for it?
So it is not gonna work,if I get an USB wireless adapter with antenna and plug it in my micro usb?And if I don't need it,I just unplug it.Or any other chance to get a strong wifi signal to my phone. What if I get a portable wifi router and I amplifer signal with this.I hope you understand what I'm wanna say.Or maybe it is not possible?I bought a yagi antenna and I plug it to my 500mw Gsky usb wireless adapter and the wifi signal is more stronger. How can I get my phone work with this?
you cant use a usb wifi adapter as your phone has no drivers, and never will do.
as for using an amplifier attatched to your router, or a seperate one, this will work reasonibly well.
You can look at http://www.cell-phone-accessories.com/htc-hd2-antennabooster-magnetmount.html
I don't know if it works fine. Only I' ve seen this site.
Also:
With my LEO I obtain the max WiFi connectivity removing the back metallic cover and taking the phone with my hand at the bottom half of it.

[Q] Making Zune 'Wireless' Sync wireless...

So it's been complained about a few times that you cannot sync wirelessly without being plugged into ac power with a WIRE. I want real wireless sync on demand. Why? Why not. My friend with his fruit branded device can and my HD2 is better than that.
Yes I know.....
power conscious OS
you're within range of WiFi and therefore ac power
leave it overnight
Other MS branded noise
No.
I want wireless sync without having to plug in and preferably without waiting 10 mins. I just got home and I don't care if it annihilates the remainder of my battery because with WP7 OS my battery still has days of charge left anyway.
Ok, let's cut to the chase. I have been searching for a while with no luck; I cannot find anybody who has come up with a fix or a workaround to get my HD2 to sync wirelessly without being plugged into ac power. I do not know enough to make a fancy app to allow my phone to do this but am willing to bet there is some way to trick the OS into thinking it is plugged in to ac power so it will begin to wirelessly sync after 10 mins. It would be nice to skip the 10 minute wait as presumably this is just controlled by a 'plugged in' timer and 'sync enable' switch of sorts but one step at a time. Now I know this is a bit of a 'duct tape' workaround but if it works, it works. So my question is this:
Is there, that anybody knows of, a switch or registry setting to tell the phone it is on ac power, or that it can enable wireless sync (as would be switched on by the OS once plugged in for 10 mins). I think you can see where I'm going with this so any other information regarding USB trickery or fooling sensors/software etc would be welcomed.
In summary: How does the OS/HD2 know it's plugged in?
Having a really hard time getting anywhere with this, especially seeing as I cant even get my wireless sync working while plugged into ac power as it should do according to MS. Followed all MS guides/troubleshooting and nothing happens even after waiting the 10/15/30 mins, all settings double checked and reset. After reading a lot of feedback it seems like a very hit and miss feature.
As for the manual wireless sync WITHOUT being plugged into a charger I've found very little but I'm looking at all possible solutions. Here are my clues so far:
The Zune HD DOES have true wireless sync capability (not charging) with the option to manually initiate it. There could be something to learn there if I had a Zune HD
Several sources claim WP7 sends IGMP packet data to initiate the connection to the Zune software. I want to look into the possibility of replicating this data to manually initiate the sync.
I have found no obvious switches in the registry that could be of any use. The only Zune related entry that showed any activity when performing a sync (over cable) was "znetsyncstate (0)" ((1) when Zune connected via cable). This is probably just a flag to prevent other apps interfering with Zune's progress while performing sync.
I said that faking the phone being on charge would be an option but I don't have a clue how to do that. I wonder if it would be possible to create a replacement USB driver "serialusbfn.dll" which fakes the charging state which could be switched using an app similar to the USB video app. Very clunky I know.
I read on XDA a guy had created an external battery pack that could be connected to the HD2 via USB to charge the phone at either 500mA or 900mA to replicate both PC USB and AC Power adapter charge respectively. He discovered you could replicate the charging state by splicing certain wires in an old USB lead plugged into the phone. Obviously this would be a horrible hardware hack and not a feasible solution but interesting, nonetheless.
Interesting stuff here about Zune network detection and awareness which could be useful if creating an app to initiate the sync but no methods regarding the sync process that I can see.
My next step is to monitor network packets while the wireless sync takes place so I can see what WP7 and Zune are doing if I can get wireless sync to work at all
Anybody know anything about modifying USB drivers/DLLs that could help?
Also anybody know of issues with Zune wireless sync on WP7.8/HD2? Be nice to hear somebody has it working and I'm not wasting my time! ROM I'm using in my sig
Please help!
I've hit a brick wall. I cannot for the life of me get wireless sync to work even plugged into AC charger. Without this working I can't go any further.
Has anybody using Dynamics HD2O 2.00b WP7.8 8858 ROM used wireless sync successfully?
How about anybody on WP7 on the HD2?
There was tweak app and it could able charge mode. it was made for joke (wireless charge) I think... But I can't remember name of app;;
Maybe found in bazaar or wphack??
Ah, I USED prs rom (its cooked rom based on pdaimatejam rom and im using pdaimatejam 8.7 ) and worked well. Exactly after 10 minute my hd started wireless sync but i can't remember that Zune software were running on my computer....

Thanks for the info, it's helpful to know that it is at least possible. I have still had no luck getting it to wireless sync with Dynamics HD2O 2.00b WP7.8 8858 ROM and I'm not getting much feedback regarding the wireless sync on that ROM thread. I'm loving the ROM too much to change just yet, so I may have to accept wireless sync doesn't like this ROM and put this project on the back burner until I switch ROMs.
I'll do some hunting and see what I can find on that tweak app you mentioned. If I can find it, it will be a great start!
Cheers

Nexus 7 2012 wifi: charge/discharge, car install, custom rom and custom kernel

Hi all. I have a Nexus 7 2012 installed in my car and i have some questions.
1) When i use my tablet to listen music (Carhome Ultra + Google play music) the tablet is discharging faster than it charge. I have a 2.1amp charger now but i bought a 5amp on ebay (waiting 4-6 weeks for delivery...) Will it charge faster with this 5amp charger? eBay link
2) I installed Omnirom 6.0.1 homemade and i'm very satisfied so far. do you guys think that another rom could help me with my discharging problem? Or maybe a custom kernel?
3) I read that some people remove the battery and change something to make the tablet boot when the ignition is turned on. My question is not about how to do it but how CAN I DO IT if my tablet is discharging faster than charging?
4) Last question.... I have a Kenwood kdc-x5000bt with my phone (LG G3) connected to it for phone calls only and my N7 connected for media. My tablet is always disconnecting from ma car radio when i receive/make a call. After a few seconds on conversation the tablet disconnect. But what is strange it's the radio seems to stay connected to the tablet. I have to turn off BT on my tablet and wait for my radio to really disconnect (until i see "Disconnected" on the radio lcd) and now i can turn on BT again et listen music.
It does that with my previous radio, a 2din Kenwood (but i don't remember the model), with a Galaxy tab 3 8". It also does it with this radio + my N7. It still does it with my new radio and my N7.... Someone have an idea why? Thanks in advance.
1.) Either:
-get a kernel that supports fast charging
-and/or buy a adapter that you can set the voltage to 5.25V or get a better cable if you have a cheap one now

Thanks for the answer. I'm waiting for a 5v 5amp charger. 6 weeks for delivery... Can you suggest me a Kernel please?
You will have to find the right one for your rom (if you are running cyanogenmod), scroll through the detailed information under each kernel and find a compatible one.

i'm on Omnirom 6.0.1 Homemade. I will wait for my 5 amp charger to see if it's better or not. If not i will try another rom and/or kernel. Thanks for your help

5amp is an overkill, the current is regulated by charging circuit which supports less. however do tell how things goes.
I am also facing low charging issue, but that seems to be because of either cable or bad usb port (which is common for grouper). best case would be to use pogo pins which charges faster and does not get damaged.
current N7 roms are doing better than MM roms so could try that,
