Battery problem - Galaxy 3 General

I have a question...which rom gives the longest battery life and is smooth and fast.now i have destiny rom and battery keeps max 10 hours with 3g and wifi deactivated. Please help me i have already tried kilyros 4.x? vivek indroid and nothing. The battery drain with custom rom drain faster than stock rom.

I use Kyrillos 8.1
For me i can use it for more that 1 day. But i don't know how that is for you.
You can test a few rom's, and then look witch is the best for you, because it is for every one different!

I tested kyrilos no wipw version indroid v4 and v6 vivek and destiny which are crap

Edit:can anyone give me voltage for setcpu galaxy 3?

If you want speed you flash a custom ROM as it includes all the tweaks etc. for speed. If you want long battery life you flash a stock ROM or a custom ROM which has not been overclocked. Many developers usually supply a non overclocked version of their ROM's. I think this would be best for you since you want speed and battery life. The last option would be setting appropriate profiles in SetCPU such as a screen off profile, a time profile if your phone stays on overnight and use a governor such as OnDemand or Conservative. I read that OnDemand is bad since it changes the CPU speeds too often which is somehow bad for the CPU. Not sure if this is true but i normally use Conservative.

of all the custom roms, kyrillos is the best..flash your phone with 8.2.1..prefer non-over clocked version over overclocked ones for battery longeivity and stability..kernels does matter too..nw g3 mod v2.0 beta 2 non oc gives better battery life

Kyrillos' ROM is not the 'best'. Every ROM is the 'best' in different ways meaning all ROM's have their pros and cons! Don't listen to the guy in the quoted post. He is expressing his personal opinion due to his experience. However, everyone has different opinions and many people prefer other ROM's. If i were to give you a list of ROM's which are regarded as the 'best' by the majority of people on XDA i would have to say : Kyrillos', Indroid, Dutchmods, Cyanogenmod 7/6.2 (Both in alpha stages) and Destiny ROM. I would recommend trying some or maybe all of the following and i have listed them in no specific order.

With so many OC/LF, ULF, etc., which is the best?

Ok...
With so many Kernels out there, and so many ROM's out there....
Which is the best (and STABLE) Kernels out there that works your lifestyle?
Describe what ROM are you using (Bionix, Eugene, Anderdroid, etc)
And what OC/LF or OC/UV or ULF of some sort are you using.
Questions in mind when you post:
1) Would you mix match ROM's with other Kernel's?
- Example, Team Whiskey implied on his post on Core Kernels are MOST compatible to their respective ROM's....
2) Why do you think it's the best match of ROM + Kernel?
- Example, is it because it's quick? Fast interface? Love the overshooting points on Quadrant scores?
3) Have you ever 'soft' bricked while "experimenting" of mix matching the ROM's and Kernels? Or even yet, on each respective Dev maker of ROMs and Kernel?
Let the comments begin!
I've used the Bionix roms since 1.3 and found them to be great for the most part. Running onyx 3.2 now and working great. Mostly stock kernels. Tried the core for Fusion and liked it. Used JAC with oc/uv and liked that. Tried ext2 lag fix but found that my phone was smoother without it. No other lag fixes.
I've never soft bricked, and never odined.

The best lag fix is a universal lag fix kernel for 2.2 froyo. I am using masters auxara roms.

Best for me has been Bionix Final w/jacs OC-UV w/Voodoo.
Smooth, fast, bug free & great battery life. Can't ask for more.

Maybe some people are just comfortable of having 2.1 ROMs....
What's your fix?
I just got done flashing Vibrant's AOSPish 2.2 and i'm thinking of JAC's OC/UV. Right now, i'm about to see if Core is better....

Ryyu's ROM for me

Just like to share something with all you flashers out there. Spent the last few weeks flashing between various roms and getting very frustrated.
So I spent today (between the men's singles final) and flashed all of the following:
GingerReal-V6.4
Simply Honey 3.9
CriskeloRom GINGERBREAD v7.5
Juwe Smart Edition v5.0
various F1 GS2 and JVP
Tweaky Vanilla AOSP and Revolution
(haven't tried darky since 9.3 I think)
Admittedly this is not scientific...clearly too early to comment on a number of levels such as battery drain, but I found a little gem that I haven't heard much spoken about....its RYYU's EDB.
It really is the way I like it....SG2 look and feel....very close to stock.....not overworked graphics....fast...smooth....no obvious bugs. It is VERY elegant.
The Nexus S status bar icon colours are slightly dodgy and there is no choice of lock screen - just the SG2, otherwise, early days, but it is as good as I've tried and deserves a lot more recognition

well m not agree with u........m also flash all rom.......but one rom which i remove after 20 min of flashing is Ryy;s coz i is not stable from any way......
in my opinion the best avalible rom on XDA i tried is
1:- Juwes 5.0
2:- F1 GS2 V9
3:- Ginger Real
4:- Darky
so i advise any one to try juwes the most stable and fastest rom and the person know how to make a rom and it awesome with Semaphore kernal....i m lovin it
mate I've been on all of those roms. Indeed Juwe v4.3.1 and v5.0 for weeks and I do love them - Juwe is excellent. F1 GS2 loses the ability to swap between ext4 and RFS, Ginger real graphics are just too much for me.
Just for your information Ryyu rom has semaphore kernel too....and its as stable as anything so I'm sorry but I just don't agree with you...but of course this is all very subjective isn't it?
I'd just like to see more people try this rom as it doesn't appear to get the publicity of some others which is a shame

I completely agree with you. I've tried all tje roms you mention except simply honey and again agree that Juwe's v5.0 was the best and the most stable. But Ryyu's rom is also stable and what is more, it is fast, really fast. Menu openings, software installations, GPS connection, all actions are very fast compared to other roms. So if someone has a problem with it, there must be a problem with flashing, indeed it is very simple, check the process first.

Rom thats similar to stock + improvements?

Im looking for the best rom thats similar to stock but improves the battery, speed, sound etc.
Thank you
Ps: I tried looking for roms, but all I could find it ICS looking one and custom ones. Im getting my phone tomorrow. Thanks
Sensation rom/criskelo are pretty stock and can be customized. Litening rom is a great stock based rom but is not supported anymore. I personally use Exymos Extreme but the dev got his phone stolen so don't know exactly when development is going to continue for this.

VillainRom 3.0 is a stock rom with improvements. (you can also add a few tweaks yourself)

most of the custom ROMS are stock ROMS and heavily themed. You can choose either sensation (Classic Look), Omega & Turkbey (heavily themed).
Battery : It depends on which kernel you use.
Sensation + Siyah or Speedmod is good. I prefer speedmod as sensation doesnt have any scripts to execute.
Omega - I was using stock kernel and battery life as same as stock
Turkbey : I am using currently and checking the battery life with siyah and I have posted some screenshots on the ROM's page
So now its your turn to decide
I highly recommend either Cognition or Mr Philo's Simple n Clean. These are close to stock but with improvements like extra power menu and integrated numeric battery meter.
I advise staying away from Batista70, it's so intrusive as to be an ego jerk-off exercise for the cook.
I would suggest HyperDroid-Androidmeda-v2.9.0.
Base version is *like* stock. One of the best piece of work out there imho.

Use the ICSsuperfrodomojopogowoego-Munchkiny-1.1 ROM, fantastic

Post what rom you're on and the reason for it!

I noticed many people who keep asking which rom is the best for battery life, etc....I'm sure that I am not alone in this, when I say that its really annoying. So to solve that problem. I've created this thread :]
I am really sorry for not including many other roms. I only picked on the roms which were at the top 2 pages in the original android dev and the android dev.
Again, I'm really sorry, but as I told another person, you are still more than welcome to talk about it and tell us why you chose that rom
Instructions:
1. Post your rom name.
2. Post which kernel you are using.
3. Why you like it
Optional:
1. What theme you are using.
2. Case
I'll start the thread off:
I'm using CheckROM RevoHD™ V6.
I am using the SpeedMod SGS2 [K2-21 kernel.
I like this rom because of the stability and the battery life. I also really love the kitchen which gives you the endless amount of flexibility to customize your rom the way you want to!
I am using the Ice Cream Sandwich Domination 2.0.3 Godlike!
I am using the SUPERGETS case which I purchased from AmazonUK for £1.70.
PS: Anybody who has a problem with this thread being here can leave right now. I never asked to click on this thread, did I now? (This message is to the people who created the "useless" tags..)
Why don't you have stock rom option?
I'm using stock XXKH3 because it does not restart my phone when on wifi (unlike KL1, KL3, haven't had time and patience to try others). It's stable ant that's what I need.
For kernel, I chose Syah v2.6.12 because of undervolting/underclocking abilities and I run [email protected] UV with battery (2000MAh) lasting for 4 days (and nights) with some light usage.
On top of that I've got GoLauncher for easier customization.

Really sorry about the stock not being on the list. But you can still talk about it. And if you don't mind me saying...That is amazing battery life I get through the day with my stock battery, so I'm not going to complain But 4 days? That is simply amazing!

IMO CheckRom is quite simply the best all round ROM for this phone, it is exceptionally smooth and fast with zero bugs (that i have found anyway) and coupled with Speedmod kernel offers superb battery life, plus the Kitchen Pro allows you to customize your ROM the way you want, ive been using CheckRom since it's inception and i cant see me using anything else barring ICS.
You haven't included Rebel ROM in the poll list.
Using Rebel ROM with Siyah Kernel because of its battery life and the SE Launcher.
Hands down has to be Checkrom v6. Using NEAK kernel and both are match made in heaven. Best rom on GB. Regarding ICS. I have to say cm9 will be my next rom once that is stable. But knowing what Leo and GC will do once they get their hands on the official ICS stuff now that will be one hard choice to make..Hopefully the dualboot project might come to effect by then
Ps what Jonny said above i could not have put it any better..Well said mate
cyanogen mod9
default cm9 kernel
because its freaking fast smooth and has incredible battery life

Sorry if I may come off sounding rude or anything. But is dual booting really that useful? I mean sure you can boot into miui and cm9 or cm7. But is it really that important? Or is it just a feature that you would like to have because it sounds and looks cool?
Would really appreciate if you could shed some light on this subject!
Thank you and have a good day.
1. Checkrom V6
2. CF Root LA4
3. Best balance of battery life and performance, sure other kernels can give better results on the battery side but I've got a 2000mah battery and charge nightly. Just everything works well with stock kernel. Will try out RedPill over the weekend.
4. Vert's ICS from Kitchen app,
5. SGP Neo Hybrid EX in black rotated with Sena leather pouch when I'm on my feet all day and need all body protection.
Using original Miui from Miuiandroid.com
Siyahkernel
I like most the theme and how fast/stable/battery time it have.

Samsung has comfirmed that it will come out on Q1, and Miui v4 are coming on 29 Feb so people are rumoring that it will come on 1st March.
If ICS will come out I will probably use the original one since I have a big problem with touchwiz, it hurt my eyes
hi
using- krinyo xwla4 slimrom + phenomenal 4.0 extreme.
why because i tried many roms and this gives no fc is smooth fast and the kernel is for battery life. developer support this rom and is very helpful. if u go to his threa u can see that are not 100000 post in wich many user complain about errors or other things. i think u dont need many words just try it and u will be amazed.
and put this rom in poll too.
currently using stock LPH with its own kernel, the only thing i modified is the modem which is LP6
after i tried ICS i couldnt go back to GB so with my current setup im getting awesome battery life, no fcs so im pretty happy with it

Well in a perfect world for me it would be nice to have access to two roms that i enjoy instead of restoring and backing up and reflashing. As you say it is a feature that sounds and looks cool but i am pretty sure we shall not see the light off. Yeah it might be possible and i think few devs have already tried it but it really has not taken off. It was more of a figure of speech i used it mate. Like i said it would of been great to use both ICS checkrom and cm9 as dualboot but that is a if and but...
So like i said best rom for me at the moment is checkrom as you can see from my sig. hope this clarifies a bit more
Checkrom v6
Darkknight 2.5.2
I flash a new firmware every 2nd day but I always go back to Checkrom and Darkknight because Checkrom is amazing with its kitchen etc and all other kernels like siyah, neak or redpill drain my battery in about 6-10 hours while on Darkknight I can use the handy for about 24 hours. Same usage. Maybe those devs could take a look at what Darkknight does right.... But I think it's really frustrating to be excited to flash a new kernel which praises "best battery" and after some hours your phone turns off.....

Noob: best ROM battery related

Hi, I'm a noob here in the Note. I've been a heavy user and a quite massive flasher of my SGS2.
I'm expecting my Note tomorrow and I'm very frightened in advance by its battery life. So I'm thinking of rooting instantaneously as I open its box but I need your advice.
Should I just root it with the CFroot and leave the stock Samsung touchwiz or should I flash any ROM with good battery results? If so, please I need a small amount of opinions. Which one is the most reliable? Do the latest ICS betas have the same battery drain as the latest GBs? Should I go ICS to start enjoying the Note experience or stay in a GB rom?
Please help me to grasp the state of things in the Note world as I open the box.
Right now I'm using a custom ROM, Darky ROM to be exact and I'm really pleased. This one seems to work best overall for me (along with the latest franco kernel).
Most people however have reported great performance with using the latest Abyss kernel and Rocket ROM. Those for me, weirdly were slower and Abyss got me battery drain.
However, my experience differs from that of most users out there, so basically you should probably try them yourself at first and see which one suits you better.

Thank you pal for the first clues!
Checkrom got me the best battery life so far, mainly it is a lite rom.
Hope its not placebo!

At the moment I'm using Rocket Rom together with the Speed Kernel which, with a few tweaks here and there, gives me awesome battery life while using and in standby.
Lite Roms have most of the Samsung and some other stuff removed. As a rule, they are more battery efficient. The best ones IMO are Cassie's XtraLite and Chrak's Small Rom. Of course, removed apps that you need can be added back in both of these Roms.
I used both with Franco's kernels, and they were fast, smooth and easy on the battery.
As for ICS, my advice would be to stay out of it for the time being. You have things to learn before being able to cope with the necessary high maintenance and fixing the ICS Roms require ATM.
No disrespect meant, just stating the fact.
