Hi, is the battery charging controlled from the A500 or the plug-in power supply?
I am hoping I can just put the correct plug on a spare 12v 1.5A supply
ex-egll
Don't know your answer directly, but if you find a thread somewhere in here about the power button led colors, there is a link someone posted to the A500's repair manual... Maybe something in there can help you.

Hey everybody,
about 2 weeks ago I had to change the USB port on my nexus 4 because It wasn't charging. I went to a professional place and they replaced it. everything worked fine but I did notice a significant battery drain. poking around with several battery apps revealed that the culprit is "slimport wake lock". further digging around revealed that what probably happened is that during the replacement of the USB port, something now malfunctions with the slimport chip/connection and it stays constantly on.
I of course plan on taking the device to the laboratory and have the guy there take a look at it. unfortunately there's very little on the subject wherever i looked and I was wondering if any of you had something similar that can help me point the guy there. Also, I was wondering if there's any way to SHUT DOWN the slimport option (as I don't even use it) via the OS, developer options, some app or something else.
any help would be appreciated

Did u manage to solve this issue mate?

slimport is to connect to an external display via usb like MHL cable, i read that the usb hardware can be the reason, the guy replaced the usb port again in the links below.
make a cwm backup, and flash android again install betterbatterystats and see if the wakelock continues if so you should replace the usb port.
theory, the slimport pin is touching another?

Part is copy/faulty, see if they'll change it for another for you.
USB port was changed again, also did:
-Factory Reset
-updated to 4.4.3(and yesterday - 4.4.4)
-Battery change
No dice. I gave up and bought myself a Moto G.
Though, if anyone comes across a solution - do tell.
Seems to me like broken USB port or pinout not compatible. Possibly they did short-circuit on one circuit on PCB. What I can advise is go back to people who changed USB port and ask them to re-solder everything by using compatible parts.
Kind regards,
I have the solution guys... Though its hard to explain, its not very hard to accomplish.
I took my n4 for another try in a different lab. The technician from the start suspected it's not something in the charging port itself, so he asked me to leave the phone for him for a few days.
After 4 days of trying and learning, he managed to find that the problem is in the socket on the board itself is causing the problems, along with the charging port, in my case.
He replaced the port on the board itself and the problem is solved.
Eventually, I paid 40€ for this problem, not very high, beats the other option (buying a new phone)
Try it guys.

been searching and there is nothing mentioned about mhl output or any other type of video/sound output. It was left out of the s6 lineup as well as the note 5, and i really hope it makes it return, such a great feature. if anyone sees or hears anything on the subject, please let me know!
Doesn't look like it. Their website shows the MHL are not compatible

I called twice about this same web page and was told that it was a Canadian website and that they cannot answer whether or not they had different accessories in Canada. I've called twice trying to reach the Canadiens but my calls again Auto routed to the American call center by a phone number profiling program this prevented me one time and call times for letting me another time.
I just got done typing about 250 words describing my hole coming to find out about that exact web page and presenting it to the people at Samsung America I went to go and post it in advance d after starting it as a quick reply, but later wanting to use your quote about they got rid of it on the note 5 as i use this. Then my entire post got erased upon the page change.:crying:

its a shame, i loved using my note 3 with tv out to my brookestone pico projector for outdoor movies, all on batteries. I'll have to test hotspoting and chromecasting to see if there is any lag.
My Redmi Note 3g is not powering on after inserting sim card. :crying: It is able to power up without sim.
Once it is power on it is working properly. Please note it's not Hard/Soft bricked.
Guys have you faced similar issue ever,How did you overcome it or suggest me the possible solutions?
Try cleaning the phone connectors the golden part an clean the pin of the commector on the phone.
Hope that helps

My Shield TV remote is often very slow to respond. Sliding/tapping the touch area or any button just doesn't respond and I have to press buttons several times or wait 10 seconds or so to get it to 'wake up'. Once it wakes up it seems fine for a little while (20 minutes or so) but then the problem returns. It seems like the remote is disconnecting and needs to reconnect before I can do anything with it. If that's the case, is there anyway to disable this behaviour?
Does anyone else have this problem or know what the solution is?
Yes, I've got the exact same issue.

Follow up. Just got off the line with tech support, replaced HDMI cable. ? Percent improvement.
Let me know if it resolves your issue.

Tried swapping the HDMI cable. No improvement for me
I've done some more testing and it seems to be specific to the Shield Remote. If I use the Android TV Remote app on my phone, it's very fast and responsive. This leads me to think it's a problem with the remote itself rather than software on the Shield.
I read some threads elsewhere that interference from other devices can cause problems. I've removed both the other devices that were near the Shield (a Google Home Mini and a PS4) but this doesn't seem to have helped either.
Is the battery fully charged. It's the most obvious reason I can think of
I got a generic px6 Android unit from AliExpress for my RV. It works great when the RV is running off battery power.
As soon as I plug the RV in and it is working off the 120 to 12 volt converter, there is an actual buzzing that comes from the chassis of the radio (not the speakers).
My first thought is to try a capacitor to help correct the "dirty power" but curious if anyone else has a thought.

...not android auto.

Suggest your "converter" checked, that noise is very bad powersupply/ buck converter noise, that is being suppressed by chokes inside the unit.
Crap... not android auto. Android radio... mods?
