Is this the most power saving android build?

Mdeejay eVo Sense v. 1.6 Revolution
as if i put it in idle, and it can last for two days.
it is 95% now and i checked with Battery indicator pro and it shows
light usage left: 34:12h
normal usage left: 15:12h
heavy usage left: 7:36h
constant usage left: 3:48h
is this so far the most power saving build? or anyone has suggestion? i have setcpu and task killer.

There is no "most powersaving" build. It always depends on various things you have done. Also I think those numbers are just an average, they don't have to be right.
When I leave my phone in standy at 100% battery it stays about 2 days in standby before it reaches under 5%. Just a tip, never let your phone running android run out of battery. I have heard this may cause corruptions of your data.img file.

Jepp... that happened to me. Not to recomend, had to reinstall from zero.

i have tried mattc leo build before and others..it does not seem to last longer as this build does as for example..when u have 100% and u disable most things task killer, setcpu and dim the display and the next day (not even 24hrs) it drop to like 30% or lower..i even install autostart and disable thouse autostart apps or background, still the same.
When i use this build same thing but just didnt do autostart things...and 100% put it idle..and next day (not even 24 hours), you will still have like roughly 80% and play around bit and next day afternoon and it still has 60% or something...
i basically try to test the phone in light use or mostly idle..
it basically the best so far i have tried (i just used 3~5 different builds)
i dont know how to check the standby ma as i saw someone said use battery status but i downloaded it and it does not provide much details but only

You have to check this with current widget. It's for free in the market. Set the intervall to 1 min. And remember: It's not an app, it's just a widget.
If you got a standby drain of < 10mA you're a happy guy
As I never tried much builds because I like mine with Sense, I have to say I don't know about the battery lifes of others, but as I heard and seen, should mattc have a very good battery life.
Watch my setup in my signature.
I've installed SetCPU and some profiles. I recommend using the conservative governor, seems the best so far. With data enabled I get a standby drain of about 5mA, so my phone lasts without any problems for 2 days in standby.

Post your average battery drain on standby

I'm wondering if my battery drain on standby is normal so I want to know yours. I see some people with 4-5 mA drain and that makes me think whether my drain is on the excessive side.
batery drain: 11-12 mA. sometimes jumps to 130-200 mA, i wonder why?
What's on: background sync, 3g.
what's off: gps, wifi, auto-sync.
auto updating apps: yahoo mail

Your battery consumption is good, you will have around 5ma too by turning off 3g data. The 130 ma thing is due to automatic update somewhere. (mails, rss, facebook etc)

the only app that updates automatically is yahoo mail, i'm sure of that. so the jumps is a mistery to me. sometimes the jump is above 200 mA.

standby battery drain: 5-7 mA.
What's on: background sync, 3g, auto-sync, gps on but no apps using it, tasker, systempanel.
what's off: wifi, bluetooth.
auto updating apps: yahoo mail
if switch to 2g, standby battery drain can goes down to 3mA

-mine is playing at 10-13 mA on stanby. Now it is at 133-153mA while making this post.
Whats on: background sync, 2g
Whats off: gps, wifi, auto sync
Auto update app: yahoomail, yahoo messenger, gochat.
I have jumps sometimes but not as high as that.

I know this is noob-ish, although I consider myself somewhat seasoned, but what app (or other method) are you using to measure battery drain? I'm running shubcraft 2.0 over ChuckyROM and in standby all day won't last more than 11-12 hours. Ouch.

My drain is mostly about 5mA. Sometime it is between 5-9mA.
I have nothing that sync automatically, but I have those jumps too. Mostly they're between 150-200mA. How often do they appear in your phones?
So, know whats on:
Data, GPS on but no apps using it, Systempanel, Facebook, Whatsapp
What's off:
WiFi (but the same standby if I'm using WiFi instead of 3G), bluetooth
In airplane mode it's only 2mA, sometimes 3

My drain averages about 5-7mA with the combo in my sig
3G on all the time (not a single data drop on over 3 days as well, best rom I've used), auto sync on for facebook and google contacts etc every 20 mins.

wow what else do you do? my phone jumps form around 134- 334 something with almost everything off

Mine is usually in 65-70ma range. There really is something wrong with it.
Are there any places to check for battery drain? I tried a blank data.img, which did not help. (I'm on HyperDroid 1.7).

4-8 ma in standby. i guess this is a good value!

android build: mdj froyo revolution 2.3 with S7 test 3 kernel

my drain is between 2 and 5 mA in standby condition with background sync, 3g, data on. According with autoupdate scheme it's jumping to 135 mA

My quadrant score is around 2000
No problem at the moment with this configuration. I have been running this for 2 days

- am, nothing. Just those and some of the usual apps current widget list as running in the background. I just use set cpu that's it.

And with what I would call normal phone use I usually have around 30% charge left after a 16-17 hour day, sometimes a bit more, sometimes a bit less. I have stayed with an older radio because I have never had any issues so have seen little point in updating it.
I am more than happy with my battery life.

It's good that you didn't change. I think 2.10 is very stable. I'm using 2.14 and I think the standby was better with the older ones. But how much do you use your phone during the day? Mine is at 40% after 12 hours of moderate use. I think this should go better

What I would call a normal usage. On average around 5 phone calls totalling around 20-25 minutes, some wi-fi and data usage totalling around 30 minutes, some game playing and a lot of display usage as I read books using FBReader while commuting.
This is all guess work though if I'm honest, I have never measured exactly what I do with my phone each day because as long as I get through the day without it giving me low battery errors I'm happy. I would say I have been on 40% after 12 hours use quite a few times, that doesn't seem unusual to me.

My average battery drain is 3ma to 5ma
With wi-fi on 7ma

I'm seeing spikes upto 400 ma.
I assume this is because I am running the stock WM ROM?
I'm new to hd2 (from HTC legend).
Will using a custom WM ROM like chuckydroid get my battery running sweet ?
Gotta say hd2 is a dream !

Better Battery Life with WiFi On

For some reason no matter what build, radio or rom I use BatteryMinder tells me that I will get better life with wifi on vs wifi being off. (check jpegs in attachment)
If i turn mobile data off too I get better battery life as well.
Why is the Mobile network killing my battery?

I would guess this has something to do with 3G that gets disabled on WIFI start

I stop using batteryminder because the time fluctuation was killing me! one minute it would show 1 day of battery left after unplugin, and 5 minutes later would show 15 hrs left, but only 2% had dropped in the battery, I guess it reads everything that's running, and takes it into consideration to tell you what time you have left. I get like 3 to 5mA at idle so I don't need it anymore to tell me how much battery I have left, I get a full day of battery.

This is a known fact, the wifi radio uses alot less power transmitting data than the 3G radio. I have about 20 Wifi access points stored in my phone so that it connects to them automatically like Home, work, church, parents house, friends house, that way the only time I'm actually using cell data is when I'm in the car. Saves the battery a ton.
If you want to use 3G all the time, but save battery, turn off always on data in the settings and set it to sync on an interval instead.

Odd, when I enable WiFi and set it to never sleep (so it keeps WiFi on when screen off instead of reverting to data), I idle at 10 times higher mA than with WiFi off. When actively using the connection (browsing, etc) it does seem less energy consuming than data, though.

Same here. Idle goes up to 70mA with no sleep.
I set it to "never when plugged in" and it seems to work fine.

I'm in desperate need of a combo so I'm trying yours as we speak

This is all excellent advice. Cheers roloracer! I use similar settings and software for the most part with Core Droid HD v.02 by Sergio76 right now, and the standby drain with WiFi and GPS on, auto background data sync off, sits much of the time at 7 mAh. This is without using SetCPU. Moreover, with WiFi and GPS off, the standby drain drops down to about 5 mAh on average. This is about the same as I get using EVO Black & Blue Remix v.03A with everything off as well. That said, both of the above mentioned builds are incredible, IMHO, and both include the hastarin r8.5.1 Kernel.

If you are in an area with spotty coverage, and constantly switch between 2g, 3g, H, etc... then it supposedly runs your batt down a lot more than in steady coverage.

How much mAh do you have when you use your phone and how much
When It's in standby??
I got 3-6 mAh in Standby and 110-400 when using the phone (500mah when using the camera)
With this info my phone only last around 10-13 hrs

10 to 13 hours of heavy usage is not bad, light use is a different story, even on windows mobile with heavy usage you can see about the same 10 to 13 hrs of battery, My phone averages about the same as you, at idle with the screen off is about 3 to 7mA , with the screen on but nothing extra running about 120mA, and with stuff in the background about 250mA, or with the camera is about 400 to 500mA. The key is to always check advanced task killer, kill all before turning off the screen, I use my phone lightly to medium during my work hours, I text a few times, facebook a few times, some phone calls, but during all this time I keep my background sync data off, I only turn it on if I have to go into the market, and I turn it back off after I finish in the market, then when I get off work, like 13 hrs after I unplugged from charger, I usually still have about 50% to 60% battery, I flip on the background data and go full blast on it, til the end of the day.

turn off bluetooth, wifi and data to conserve battery life
download currentwidget and see what the draw is on your battery when it is on standby

If you are on a Gingerbread build like I am, you may want to uncheck the Data Enabled box found under Settings/Mobile & Wireless Settings. I found just by unchecking this on the Pongster CM7 build I am on, it stopped the frequent battery spikes I was experiencing. Also, like the other poster said, turn off all active sync, WiFi, GPS Bluetooth, etc. if your build doesn't do already. Use Current Widget found on the Market to determine stand by battery drain. After I unchecked the Data Enabled box, I went from an overnight drain of 20-25% down to 3-4%. On the Froyo build looking at my wife's Android phone, you would uncheck Enable Always-On Mobile box. Hope this helps your situation.

..must be any third party app. My drainage is 2% in flightmode every night. Already tried to find out which app cause your drainage?...also your standby drainage is a bit high. Im losing 1mah per hour or less with data on.

A steady 1mA or less is virtually impossible with the HD2...let alone any phone.
But as a rule of thumb, Android should drain 2-9mA when in standby, it just varies by build, location, what you have installed, signal quality, etc.
Where I live, I have full signal but only Edge and I have data, bluetooth, gps, and auto sync on and I drain on average 6mA when in standby.
You either have Wifi on (it causes weird drain issues), bad signal or an app that is eating your battery.

of course i disable everything .....so if i go to setting/about phone/battery use may i see all what drain my battery or i have to get an application that can give exact informations ...

let your screen off for 2 minutes and then check your consumption with current widget(the widget should refresh the value every minute by default)
..so you can be sure that teh shown value is teh standyby value.
The standby value should be between 2-5ma.
When your screen is on it should drain between ~100 - ~300ma depending on your screen brightness.

i did wait for 2 mn and here's what hapend:
at 10:38. 59 mA
at 10:40. 58 mA
at 10:41. 354 mA
the battery went from 98% to 90% with 10 mn in 3G in about 30 mn

settings->about phone->battery usage?
What app has got the highest consumption?

Maybe a little more information about what ROM you are using. There are quite a few experimental ones out there. I'm using CMYLXGO's Bluetopia usually, but I like to try different ones all the time. My battery is usually pretty good with about two days with medium to light use.

in about phone i see systeme android 57% than standby gsm with 17% ...
i'm using now hyperdroid v12 but i used rafdroid, coredroid, and cm7 and almost the same battery draining ...
i thought it's my battery but when i used another one i saw no diffrence
with heavt use i cant stand a half of day

Are you restoring a backup after trying a new rom?
...try with a clean rom without any apps installed.
Seems that an app prevents your phone to go to standby.

you right ... i did a restore i will try a clean install as u suggested and see the battery drain befor installing any application ...
i want to know if Clk or Magldr or the build version ( 2.3/2.4) have any realation with battery drain ...
i've read that the sense rom and rom based on hd build drain battery faster ... if u used much roms u would see that some roms use battery more than others ... so please i need a personal suggestion from u to use any special rom ( with fm radio if possible...too bad it dosnt work on hyperdroid)

[Q] Dramatic battery drain (Hyperdroid 5.9.0)

Hi everyone,
I have used an older version of Hyperdroid over the past few month, which worked very well for me overall. Usually the battery managed to last a couple of days.
However, after I tried some different Android NAND Roms on my HD2 yesterday, I reinstalled the latest version of Hyperdroid (HyperDroid-CM7-Observant-Opossum v5.9.0) and noticed a dramatic increase in battery usage.
It drains about 10% in less than an hour without using it.
- WLAN off
- mobile data off
- Blutooth and GPS off
Androids battery use overview lists:
Display 35%
Cell-Standby - 33%
Idle 29%
Wi-Fi - 4%
There are barely any additional apps installed.

However, after I tried some different Android NAND Roms on my HD2 yesterday, I reinstalled the latest version of Hyperdroid (HyperDroid-CM7-Observant-Opossum v5.9.0) and noticed a dramatic increase in battery usage.
It drains about 10% in less than an hour without using it.
- WLAN off
- mobile data off
- Blutooth and GPS off
Androids battery use overview lists:
Display 35%
Cell-Standby - 33%
Idle 29%
Wi-Fi - 4%
There are barely any additional apps installed.

Install currentwidget and place a widget on your homescreen. Tell us the battery drain when the screen is off by setting the refresh interval to around 20, leaving the phone to settle in standby for a minute or so and unlocking it and giving the drain immediately displayed (don't wait for it to refresh again) and it should be around 4ma with everything but the phone function itself turned off. Try it in airplane mode as well, here it should be around 2ma. If you mean high drain with the screen on then you're just going to have to live with it unfortunately.

Yes i would definately check sleep drains. But if its when your phone is on, it may also be an update in the CPU governor settings. I would switch to conservative. Especially if you dont game a lot. You can also try changing your CPU voltage levels.

What's your kernel and governor? Any OC? Maybe the kernel isn't allowing deep sleep.

did you do a clean install?did you wipe your battery stats?
if you post some more info about your device then we can help you even more.
i would try changing the governor and then battery calibration (you can find it on the market). i had this rom and if i remember correctly there were some issues with my battery too. i then got the 5.10.0 version and everything became normal again.
or you can upgrade to the latest version 6.0.0. i just installed it runs smooth as hell!!!

Even I'm using the same rom and the battery drains heavily only when using applications and playing games. But can anyone help me how to upgrade it to version 6.0 with detailed instructions.
