Ok so i'm fairly new (only 3 and a half months although been lurking until my hero purchase for around 6 months) and catch on quickly.
I have a cdma hero running darchlegendv.4.3 and forgive me for forgetting his name(The Blue theme his name starts with a g,sorry g*****,lol) but anyhow, i've tried flashing a few roms now and am getting stuck in a constant boot...
I Backup,Wipe Everything but sd,flash the update zip and it installs and boots..
The Problem is It boots and boots and then finally freezes for about 20 seconds then starts the boot animation over and over. What could be the cause of my constant boot???
1)Is It A Bad PRI or PRL???
2)I've Flashed Fresh 2.0d,Darchlegend 5,DC5.6,and Darchvanilla with this problem..
3)(While I'm Asking Questions)I'd Like To start developing and making roms and/or applications for my favorite little green robot. Can anyone take the time out to PM me possibly??
Thank you sooo much for any contribution it's very appreciated

I hope you're trying to wipe and then adding the theme... flash or recover your 4.3.1 (although I recommend flashing 4.5) and then flash your darkstar theme over it
Oh no I have the them on top of darchlegend 4.3 , I applied that right i just don't know why it constants boots when i try to flash to a new rom(i do wipe)I just don't know..

So plug in the cable, do a logcat, and find out.
How exactlt do i do that? Thanks for the reply
do adb logcat from command prompt.
ALSO,
were you sure that this was in fact a theme for DarchLegend? Cause if it didn't specifically say that, then that is why. Different frameworks between that rom and the sprint roms.
yes I haven't a clue what's wrong, I'm in recovery wipe and it installs but conatantly boots . Note:this is when i flash a new rom,te current will boot

what are you wiping just data? ive had this happen before, wipe everything dev., ext, data everything then flash again then wipe data again.
Any flash that wipes dalvik cache like a rom our flipz's vanilla lock screen fix can take up to twenty minutes to boot the first time. This also means anytime you wipe the dalvik cache from recovery.
Hello all,
I am Conmanx360. I am not usually one to ask for help, and I kinda provide my own answers. But I am completely stumped at this point. My droid 2 is stuck in a bootloop after installing a new rom (I installed it weirdly, and now it won't start. It's stuck in the boot animation, and won't go further) . I've tried powering it on to see if it boots back into clockwork recovery, and I'm getting nothing. Now I remember from my droid 1 that I could sbf, but I'm not finding anything on how to get droid 2 into the flashing interface. Quick replies if you can.
Thanks,
Conman.
P.S: I checked out the other threads, and while they had info, it wasn't what I needed.
Well, I may have just fixed this myself. Way I did it was to go into the stock bootloader (power+x on startup) . Press the physical search button on the keyboard. Then do a wipe of the data and cache. This helped fix mine, I'm not so sure about everyone elses.
I have the same exact problem, like literally the same exact one. I switched from a D1 too and everything was so much easier and simpler. If you get a solution to your problem please send me a message. I'll do the same.
Did you try to wipe data and cache?

Yes, but now it'll take me to the android home screen and it'll stay on for about 5 seconds with the theme i downloaded and then boot loop again.
You need to sbf as i posted in your original topic last night.
Hi folks!
I think I've messed up my workphone (Defy MB525) in some wierd way.
I had Cyanogen Mod 10 installed and should only do an update to another nightly, but by mistake I chose a cm7-file instead and flashed it. After that I got stuck in a bootloop, whatever ROM i tried to install or how I did :/
I then tried to reset the phone with an original SBF-file using RSD Lite 5.6. The sbf-file I am using is JRDNEM_U3_3.4.2_179-002_DEBLUR_SIGN_SIGNED_UCAJRDNEMARAB1B80AA03A.0R_PDS03C_USAJRDNFRYORTCEE_P016_A016_HWp3_Service1FF.sbf (found in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1828639 first post)
My intention fo flash the sbf-file was to restore the phone to its original state and from that point re-rooting it and after that install cm10 again.
But now to my problem, I just cant to do anything with the phone. The screen is all black and I cannot do anything :/
RSD Lite recognizes the phone and I can flash sbf-files to it. It goes to 100% progress but when it is supposed to boot up after flashing, it takes just a second or so...and RSD Lite then says "Passed" on result leaving me with the black screen yet again.
Only time I can see something on the screen is during the flashing. The sceen says "SW update In progress...". Other then that, always black:crying:
Really really stuck here and dont know what to do. If anyone has an idea and the time to help me, I would be in ever grateful!
Best regards,
/marmeladov

Download that, unrar it to a folder
Flash Firmware 1, let the phone boot up and done.
If you want ROOT, enter to Motorola Recovery (Volume up + power, when the Android appears press Volume up + Volume down) then factory reset and wipe data, reboot phone on BL mode (Volume down + power) and flash Firmware 2.

Thanks a ton for helping me in desperate times
I managed to get the phone working again using your files and this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1216982
Then I got the problem with 128mb internal memory, but solved it.
Now I have cm9 up and running with no issues. I tried Epsylons CM10 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1768702 but it lagged and were really really slow for some reaseon :/
Epsylon builds are outdated, you should try Quarx CM10 or CM10.1

Thanks, had some issues installing Quarx CM10. Never managed to get it up and running, might've been a kernel issue or something. The led just turns RED :/
On my Google Nexus CM10 was more smooth then 10.1, so I figured I'd better try CM10 on the defy due to weaker hardware. But I might have wrong there since I havent tried.

I think I give up. Dont understand what I am doing wrong. Have rooted and installed custom roms on htc hero, htc sensation xe, htc wildfire, galaxy nexus..but this phone. Neever had even close to the issues I'm having with this one :/
I followd your steps on installing cm10. But when both the rom and gapps are installed and I reboot it reboot the following happends; red motorola-log, blue led - red led. And bootloop. Nothing else :/
Read somewhere that I have to install a kernel separately, is that true?

It is advised to wipe cache and Dalvic cache after installing zip files.
Moreover, when I installed full Gapps I got system partition full, so instead I installed minimal Gapps:

I simply dont know if I'm doing something wrong (think not) or if my phone is messed up. But I get the same result after following your guides several times. I cant get passed the motorola-logo after flashing cm10. The Led turns red (indicating somethings wrong?) and then reboots again. Keeps going adn going :/
Hi. My Nexus 4 got stuck in a bootloop while attempting to flash the PAC-man ROM and I have no idea what to do!
I am a total noob at this, so I'll just go through the details. I cleaned Dalvik and Cache and then flashed the files: pac_mako-22.2.0-rc1(Downloaded from official PAC-ROM site) and gappsinverted-jb-20130308-signed(From rootzwiki). After flashing these two, I tried starting the phone. The minigame turned up and then it moved on to the 'PAC is LOADING' screen. It stayed like that for 15 minutes... The only way I knew the phone hadn't hung was because there was the constant movement of the loading bar. So I got into TWRP recovery again and flashed Paranoid Android back so the device would be usable again.
I really want to try PAC-man and would be grateful to anyone who can help me out...

You have to also wipe DATA when you flash a new ROM. Use the factory reset option.
also, your gapps are out of date. you got stuck at rebuilding the dalvik, which is kinda normal for android 4.3. all you have to do, should have to do, is force reboot once or twice until the dalvik gets rebuilt, then itll boot.

You are trying to use 4.2.2 gapps on 4.3 rom
Hello
So i was ready yesterday to install a new android rom, going from GingerBread to JB(Pixeldroid 4.2.2). Later that day, i encountered a Bootloop problem while still on the GB, so i decided to install JB. I did it succesfully. Before going to JB i installed stock WM 6.5 just for a bit, and had no bootloop problem.
Then i went to JB on NAND (GB was on NAND too ) and then it started to bootloop again :/ Now, i don't know what to do and i have an extra problem. My power/end call button is dysfunctional (completely). Please help!
EDIT: I can't help but notice there are a lot of bootloop threads from yesterday and today. Weird isn't it?
EDIT2: Well, now i can use the power button. Yay for copper wires!
EDIT3: Now i partitioned the system 360M/5M cache, just as written in the thread (didn't notice that bit before :/ )
Now, it's just stuck on the boot for quite some time, keeps going and no change. If it's significant, i noticed before, when the HD2 was plugged in to charge, first the LED light got orange, then the loop happens. Now it's not glowing orange.
Well ...

My friend ... As I got , you installed a JB ROM on a GB ROM ? ... If thats Right , Its not a bootloop it's a mistake because the ROM hadn't installed completely but you can do a Full wipe before installing any ROM then Your ROM should boot correctly ... Any you had better name the ROM you installed ... Good luck

Well, i did manage to fix the bootloop. I did a full wipe through CWM and then i made a partition, and simply installed using the NativeSD method. Thanks anyways!
