Ok so i'm fairly new (only 3 and a half months although been lurking until my hero purchase for around 6 months) and catch on quickly.
I have a cdma hero running darchlegendv.4.3 and forgive me for forgetting his name(The Blue theme his name starts with a g,sorry g*****,lol) but anyhow, i've tried flashing a few roms now and am getting stuck in a constant boot...
I Backup,Wipe Everything but sd,flash the update zip and it installs and boots..
The Problem is It boots and boots and then finally freezes for about 20 seconds then starts the boot animation over and over. What could be the cause of my constant boot???
1)Is It A Bad PRI or PRL???
2)I've Flashed Fresh 2.0d,Darchlegend 5,DC5.6,and Darchvanilla with this problem..
3)(While I'm Asking Questions)I'd Like To start developing and making roms and/or applications for my favorite little green robot. Can anyone take the time out to PM me possibly??
Thank you sooo much for any contribution it's very appreciated

I hope you're trying to wipe and then adding the theme... flash or recover your 4.3.1 (although I recommend flashing 4.5) and then flash your darkstar theme over it
Oh no I have the them on top of darchlegend 4.3 , I applied that right i just don't know why it constants boots when i try to flash to a new rom(i do wipe)I just don't know..

So plug in the cable, do a logcat, and find out.
How exactlt do i do that? Thanks for the reply
do adb logcat from command prompt.
ALSO,
were you sure that this was in fact a theme for DarchLegend? Cause if it didn't specifically say that, then that is why. Different frameworks between that rom and the sprint roms.
yes I haven't a clue what's wrong, I'm in recovery wipe and it installs but conatantly boots . Note:this is when i flash a new rom,te current will boot

what are you wiping just data? ive had this happen before, wipe everything dev., ext, data everything then flash again then wipe data again.
Any flash that wipes dalvik cache like a rom our flipz's vanilla lock screen fix can take up to twenty minutes to boot the first time. This also means anytime you wipe the dalvik cache from recovery.

So i tried to flash a rom like a normally do and i get stuck on the green screen.
I noticed now when flashing a rom is takes alot longer to flash then it usually did , i wiped pulled battery multiple times and still the same results. If i try to flash a froyo rom it will stay on the mytouch screen for a few secs and reboot to recovery mode on its own. every other rom just gets stuck and will not move. im limited to only recovery mode and Fastboot , are their any simple fixes that can be done and thanks in advance.

Have you tried fixing apk uids? I've also heard you can use the bootloader to do a more thorough wipe.
If I were in your situation I would apply sappimg to unroot and start over.

im fairly new so i only know how to flash roms . outside of that im pretty much clueless. I tried flashing a new radio & when it tells me to reboot to complete installation it says no more room or somthing like that. it does it really quick so i cant tell. Also how would i go about unrooting?
EDIT .. ok unrooted the phone and it seemed to have done the trick.

Glad you're still operational. Now you can retrace your steps and figure out where you went wrong. I also had to unroot and go back to Cupcake before I successfully completed my first rooting.
If you're just flashing ROMs, I would stay away from updating the radio unless the developer specifically says you should.
Hey guys. Been running CM nightlies on my wife's HD2 for her. Previous one I had running was the cm_leo_full-20110830.zip. Now that nightlies are back up and being built, I decided to DL the latest (cm_leo_full-20110927.zip). I booted her phone up into MAGLDR, keyed down to recovery, booted up into CWM, wiped cache and then flashed cm_leo_full-20110830.zip in recovery. Then I rebooted her phone. It has now been sitting at the CM7 splash screen with the rotating arrow for about 20 minutes. It's not bootlooping or anything. The arrow keeps spinning and spinning, but it's not booting into CM7. We're both getting a bit frustrated and can't understand what's taking so long. I have a ton of experience rooting/flashing, etc., on many phones (G1, MT3G, Nexus One, MT4G, G2x, and now my HTC Sensation), but am fairly new to the HD2 world.
Any help you can provide will be great appreciated. TIA.

Firstly make sure you have the right size partition for that particular rom
Then wipe data, cache, dalvik cache(in advanced), and lastly format boot and system in the mounting option then flash the rom
I used to meet this problem but after pull out the battery and restart the phone it is ok.
Something in SD may make the boot processing taking longer, so i think you should try with formatted SD card.
Thanks for the replies guys. I'll try both out tonight and see what happens. Not sure why the sd card would matter though, as this is a NAND install. The build should boot, even without an sd card installed.
As an addition to the replies above,
A first boot can take up to 45 minutes.
So be patient also.
Again, thanks for your responses guys. I just flashed the latest nightly/daily (9-29-11) on her phone through CWM and it booted up just fine. Only wiped cache and dalvik cache. Not sure why it worked fine this time and not with the previous build. Only problem I'm seeing is that her camera hangs now. It won't load up, just hangs and then gives the option to Force Close or Wait. Waiting does nothing. Can someone point me to the thread where discussion of these (http://cyanogenmod.arif-ali.co.uk/rom/) nightly/dailies is appropriate?
Thanks again!

Bah! Forgive me. The answer was right within the link that I posted. Seems many are experiencing the same issues. Thanks.
Many are having problems with the cameras. May want to try downloading lgcamera from the market. Seems to work pretty well with most roms/builds
Hey there,
been using Quarx' build for a long time now, and today I finally got a weird problem of my own.
Last build I've been using was 20130516, I avoided the later ones because of the report of the wifi-bug.
So, long story short: all was fine until I let my cell run out of battery, instead of rebooting like normal, it went stuck at the cyanogen boot animation.
Rebooting the phone, re-flashing 0516 or versions from march or april, fixing permissions in recovery, wiping cache or dalvik cache - nothing helped. I'm stuck at the boot animation and can't get around it.
Yeah, yeah, wipe the phone, re-install everything...
What I hope for is a solution that doesn't involve starting from scrap, one I didn't know about because I've got no clue anyway.
Thanks in advance, people. Gonna keep it in its loop until tomorrow. Who knows, maybe it just needs a hour to get its **** together or whatever...
Try formatting /system and /data to ext4 in recovery and flash.
For whoever may stumble upon this thread in the years to come: had to start from scrap.
Thanks for sharing

I had the exact same issue today, after battery drain, stuck at animation, flashing different roms did not help either.
Finally had to flash the sbf
Hi. My Nexus 4 got stuck in a bootloop while attempting to flash the PAC-man ROM and I have no idea what to do!
I am a total noob at this, so I'll just go through the details. I cleaned Dalvik and Cache and then flashed the files: pac_mako-22.2.0-rc1(Downloaded from official PAC-ROM site) and gappsinverted-jb-20130308-signed(From rootzwiki). After flashing these two, I tried starting the phone. The minigame turned up and then it moved on to the 'PAC is LOADING' screen. It stayed like that for 15 minutes... The only way I knew the phone hadn't hung was because there was the constant movement of the loading bar. So I got into TWRP recovery again and flashed Paranoid Android back so the device would be usable again.
I really want to try PAC-man and would be grateful to anyone who can help me out...

You have to also wipe DATA when you flash a new ROM. Use the factory reset option.
also, your gapps are out of date. you got stuck at rebuilding the dalvik, which is kinda normal for android 4.3. all you have to do, should have to do, is force reboot once or twice until the dalvik gets rebuilt, then itll boot.

Hold the power button for about 10 seconds.
You are trying to use 4.2.2 gapps on 4.3 rom
So i wanted to go for some Pie rom and it turns out i cannot do that because reasons. Done everything that was listed in instructions, done even more things like flashing stock image, wiping everything, flashing fbe recovery, wiping everything again (besides recovery ofc), then pushing the rom to /sdcard, flashing it, wiping internal storage. It doesnt really matter what i do and what rom do i flash. Every time i end up staring at Google's boot logo (AOSPExtended is stuck at boot animation). I know there is a line like "be patient" in the instructions, but my patience had to come to an end eventually and it was after like 2 hours of boot logo, and another 2 hours of AOSPEX's boot animation. The phone is not heating up, but it would crash on the 1st phase of boot animation and reboot till infinity after restoring TWRP backup. I really wanted to use Pie, but i have run out of ideas on how to make it boot.
It's really an unusual case. But I had it on my previous phone, the LG Optimus G. I'm from stock 4.4 and every higher Android version rom won't boot on my phone. I gave it up but two months later, I tried again and bizarrely, It boot fine without any reasons. Sorry I can't help you what the problem is, but I can only tell you that you can try Pie roms a few time later and wait for you luck

By reading the flash instructions CAREFULLY.
Format data after flashing. It's the button next to advanced wipe button.

Then yeah, I did it.
Did you ever get this working? I'm having the exact same issue. I've tried several Pie Roms and so far no luck getting past the boot animation.
Oreo Roms work and boot up quick. I've updated to the latest TWRP as well. Is there a v9 Vendor Image we can try flashing?

Didn't really have time to mess with this lately, as i need my phone up 24/7, but i tried to get this working as soon as first Pie ROM's started to come out. Couldn't get it working then, and 2nd time was about the time i created this post.
The lastest vendor image is OPM7.181205.001, Dec 2018, as far as i know, so... We are kinda stuck with 8.1.0 for now.
