1.Reflash the ROM (do chalk the sd-card folder paste etc),
2.update again just after flashing v8.0
3.Install setCPU, set governor scaling to conservative.
4.Enjoy your smooth & fast phone.
5.Never post new thread again if there's already a dedicated thread for it, you
should have asked in the official kyrillos feedback thread.
6.Thanks if I've helped you

@sohail77, you can disable swap if its enabled

what does swap do

Swap acts like an additional RAM but incase you create a swap partition, then the extra RAM Space is on your sdcard.
Swap is not really needed. It takes about 4 hrs for my G3 to get completely charged. I guess that is normal.
Reflash you ROM and do the steps as said above. I would suggest using 83-1000 profile and using the "on demand" governor.
Follow the steps on using hybrid a2sd on kyrillos thread. It works fine for me.

[Q] Wildfire with Wildpuzzel Rom 2.2 every Kernel don't work

Hay people,
I have installed Wildpuzzel 2.2 Rom on my Wildifire and want to overclock my Wildfire. I installed all of the Kernels here and no kernel is running. Everytime if I installed a Kernel ist starts and When my Wildfire is an the Screen Android with de green figure he starts again and again.
Sorry for my bad English i hope you understand what i mean
Can anybody help me and give me a Kernel that Works ?
Thanks to any who helps me
This should be in Q&A, not the development board, for future reference.
Now, is the wildpuzzle rom a sense Rom or asop?
EDIT: oops, didn't realize there wasn't a q&a board. My bad.

Sent from my CDMA Hero. I got some hot Froyo-on-Hero action here!
It's a Sense Rom
They have an oc kernel in the Rom dev thread. You wiped dalvik before you flashed it, right? Also, how long are you waiting when you reboot?

But if you installed the Wildpuzzlerom, it's already overclocked! You need to install SetCPU and Superuser to give permissions and the second time you start the SetCPU app (the first time you have to go back to close SetCPU and reopen it), you'll be able to set higher frequency!
Reflash the Wildpuzzlerom and install SetCPU.
If it's not overclocked, I'll send you the link to XDA thread because I can't post links here...

As ALL Overclocked kernels I've tried, it can freeze/hang the phone. But at least, this one reboots the phone (not pulling the battery) and in 20 second the phone is booted again (like hot reboot), so not a big deal.
I think the problem MAY be SetCPU app.

Upgrading to Kyrillos V4.1 from V4.0

I thought of writing the steps which i followed when upgrading from Kyrillos V4.0 to V4.1. The steps which i mention here would be a copy from the instruction Kyrillos had provided. Just a customization which i did for upgrading to his latest version ( Assumption:- SD card partition is already done).
1)No need to wipe your data if you are on kyrillos' rom v3.3+
2)Go in titanium, find google maps and wipe google maps' data.
3)Shutdown your phone and remove sim. Don't remove sdcard!!
4)Go to download mode (Vol down + Home + Power).
5)Open Odin, click reset files, select ops, tick one package and select the .tar file. Click Start.
6)Once the download is complete, The phone will go in recovery mode. Just Click Reboot(No need for any Data or Cache wipe).
These are the exact steps which i followed and everything went smooth and all my apps and data were never lost..
Wonderful work by Kyrillos on the ROM. You rock as always!!!
I have upgraded to V4.1 NonOC due to some freeze and lag issues which i faced with V4.0.
Hope this info might help some1!!!!

Tried a few days ago - everything seemed to be working fine for normal use.
But had my tab reboot several times when downloading a large file. Uninstalled havent had a reboot downloading same file.
May or may not work for you. Probably need to fine tune settings in script but my tab is running smooth regardless.
People should be very skeptical about messing with the memory management in an OS.
Same thing for task killers...they can be helpful to kill an application(to stop it from running in the background), but an auto task killer is generally not a good idea...not on android and not on Linux or windows.
Free memory says nothing, as it's better to use memory then to not use memory performance wise.
Not saying that this can't be the exception to the rule(bad idea to not use the OS's internal memory management), but i'm not convinced.
In android, nothing to worry.
You reflash. You can do anything. Hope you find your sweet spot.

How much RAM do you have running this script? My Tab has less free RAM while running it (used: 230mb before and 310mb after the script).
As already stated in this thread, it's not the purpose of the script to give you the most amount of free memory at all times but to optimise memory use for max performance.

x8oc.ko is in /system/lib/modules
And i attached my hw_config.sh
Any kind of help is most welcome tnx in advance

Welcome on XDA You have to use stock kernel if you want overclock. Or change kernel to FXP 028. Then install module and find SetCPU, it's free for xda users, and set yours oc value. Good luck.

New problem i flashed that kernel and phone can't go further than boot animation(that blue circle sparkle gingerdx thingy).... When i flashed back to that linux kernel phone turned on normaly.
Do you have link or advice which kernel should i use or try with?
IMO for oc the best way is to use stock kernel and modules.

To get lagfix on JW4 easly;
İf you're not rooted , just root it with CF Root link here http://download.chainfire.eu/155/CF-Root/SGS/CF-Root-XX_OXA_JW4-v4.4-CWM3RFS.zip
Then most important part;
http://www.wuala.com/deeeelite/Kernels Ginger/CF-Root-ext4-v1.3-Addon.apk Download and install this apk. This is ext4 tool developed my Chainfire... easy! Just Convert to EXT4 and done!
Also don't forget to change to RFS when you want to flash from odin or a custom rom like ICS/JB or custom GB (Dmore or so... ) from CWM!
Cheers

Because only custom kernels supporting EXT4 file system. When you flash another stock rom. stock kernel can't read your EXT4 partitions.
So you don't need to convert EXT4 again but you need to flash a custom kernel with EXT4 again to rom to boot it.
CM using totally different file system. It's using yaffs and ext4. It converts itself whilebyou flashing.

Hi ,
I have installed the apk and converted to ext4 .. and other fixes for speeding up the Phone. I am having a Galaxy S GT I9000 (Indian version )> DDJVB 2.3.6 (valupack 2.3.6) and have just rooted using the kernel > CF-Root-XX_OXA_JVU_2.3.6-v4.3-CWM3RFS . So basically now that the phone is rooted what fixes would you recommend so that the experience is totally GREAT ! I know there are infinite solutions available on the net , hence would be helpful if you could suggest something that is tried and tested. Thanks.
Regards,
Kaustav.
Sorry i don't understand.
Did you say what fixes i can apply after lagfix?
Seems like you want some recommendation .. Hmm i think one of stock firmwares rooted and using with ext4 system would be enough
The best thing you can do i think;
Try Darky 10.4.2 JW1 rom.It is the best custom gb firmware that i've ever seen!

Hi dreamer,
I have actually done the ext4 conversion, but I dont find much difference in the lag , the phone still seems a bit slow, hence I was asking for other alternatives like a better custom ROM (though I am not to keen and would like to stay with the stock ROM if possible) , or cpu overclocking , or some lag fix available . My phone is on gb 2.3.6 DDJVB Indian version and has been rooted today using Odin and kernel CF-Root-XX_OXA_JW4-v4.4-CWM3RFS. Sorry for all the questions , I am a newbie here..so please bear

Hi Patchy,
Flashed the semaphore 2.7.4 ... working pretty good..smooth. But found the screen display to be different, there was a greenish tinge to it (specially when screen goes on/off) but this has resolved after Semaphore auto brightness enabling in the semaphore app. What other tweaks would you recommend using this kernel ? What does the busybox exactly do? I mean what would happen if I enable it and also do you recommend overclocking to 1.2Ghz ? Thanks for all the help and PATIENCE

The colors on your screen are different because its "voodoo color" in my opinion looks awesome.
I always OC to 1.2 and set my touch screen sensitivity to the middle option (forget what its called) you'll find that under additional kernal tweaks in semaphore manager. I also modify my build.prop a lot under system/build.prop. using root explorer.
Just leave busy box alone. Don't worry about it. But after flashing semaphore 2.7.4 your going to need to download super user from the market to gain root access again.

Hi,
Yep I have installed super user from the market. About overclocking , whenever I am setting it to 1.2 , after sometime when I check it shows as 1Ghz selected. Also for over clocking , I see it at two places - under Misc. there is overclocking test apart from the normal overclocking change tab .. do i need to change at both the places ?

To fix the greenish color issue while locking screen, alternativly flash a xlcrt off effect for jw4 .Cant give a link right now but you said you are on indian version.Crt off effect must be specific for rom i mean you cant flash jw4 effect to indian rom because roms are different .You will lose status bar if you do that.
You must be on european version which is jw4 .Then you can flash that crt effect...
I'm from Turkey and time is 10am right now.I will at my home about 9pm so... if you really wanna use ;
lagfix
Semaphore kernel with voodoo also without greeny color,
Flash JW4 firmware (XXJW4). Then flash semaphore kernel and apply lagfix... When i'll get home ,i:ll send you a link of crt effect
Also you can search the thread of it if you dont wanna wait
Thread belongs to pantrif13 as long as i remember...
