Hi,
When I get an SMS text message, my XDA-Mini S will only beep once - is there anyway I can get it to keep repeating the message alert every minute/5minutes etc as if you miss the alert, you may not look at your phone for hours...
Try phone alarm by pocket max. It does excactly what you want!

That's excellent - just what the Doctor ordered!
Update...
Hmmm,
Sometimes, even when I read the text message the alert continues...? Any ideas why?
Yeah, that's what I noticed also, but I dont know why.
I'm gonna "play around" with the settings some time, maybe there is a way to set the reminder period.
I also gonna follow the topic on Modaco, maybe we will get an answer there.
I mentioned this in a later post i think. I have stopped using it for this reason. Sometimes, even if you power off your pda, and bring it back out of standby, the reminders keep repeating. It's annoying considering that that "don't Forget" think doesn't work for me at all...
Has anyone had any more luck with my method yet?
hi guys, i have a problem with my messaging application - it doesn't run anymore :/
yesterday i sent some sms - no problems - now i cant access the application. its just not displayed in the taskmanger. tried to restart my phone, but without success. anyone got a cab-file for me, so i can try reinstalling?
ohh im using open touch 4.0
if u need more information just ask - got no free head right now...^^
update: voice command fails to start too - get an error everytime i restart my phone - no need for voicecommand, but a phone without sms is crap ^^
hmm...i dunno how, but i love self-repairing devices...i switched to another sim-card - same problems - and didnt used the phone for 12 hours or so - NOW it works perfect again - thread can be closed
another problem -.-
while i can start the application and read old messages i cant send new ones :/
i got an error message "Your text message cannot be sent."
any ideas?
did a hard-reset...worked
Hi,
as the Topic says, if I receive a text message it's not playing a sound/ringtone whatever and its not vibrating. So I never notice when I get a text message and that is really stupid ^^.
I'm using WM 6.1, G4
sorry for my bad english
Problem solved for now. I just flashed a new Rom and with the new one it works again.
Hey guys,
As previously stated, I'm a noob, so I'll be posting some dumb questions (after searching and reading stickies, obviously...) over the next few weeks/months as I get used to the Legend (aka the JesusPhone). One of the things that sucked most about having an iPhone was the fact that there's no real community around apple products, and having people at XDA help you out is one of the best parts about WinMo/Android ownership.
My question concerns an app called SMS Popup which somebody in this forum recommended. It's great - wakes the phone on SMS, gives lots of settings and options to customise the popup that appears, etc. I'm having one really annoying problem with it though.
I've got the app set to mark the message as Read when I hit Close on the popup that appears upon receiving a new SMS. This way, when it's a short message that I don't need to reply to, I don't need to both going into the messaging app to read/delete it.
Except it doesn't work.
Whenever I try to do this - whenever I close a message, or choose to reply to it - the messaging app on my home screen has the notification badge for 1 unread message.
Has anybody else encountered this problem/could anybody suggest a solution?
Not a big deal, but kinda annoying, as I have to manually go in and either read or delete each message to make it stop reminding me that I have a message I've already read.
Cheers
Try reinstalling. If it still occurs, the problem might be in the settings or it is a bug.
Try Handcent SMS...
This is a known problem with phones that use HTC Sense UI, as HTC does not offer an API to tell the home screen icon to "refresh" itself. The message itself is still likely being marked "read" if you go into the actual messaging app.
There is an FAQ covering this on the SMS Popup google code site (search for "sms popup android faq" (sorry I can't post links as it says I'm too new).
