My battery life has usually been good since I've had custom ROMs. Now it's dookie. I logged out of the Facebook app thinking it would save same drain but it didn't. What is killing ish?

I'm on ACS ICS Beta 4. I want to say it's my apps but I don't see a glaring issue. Is it the phone signal? I noticed it was the only indicator in yellow. I'm not sure if it's good or bad.
Also, why is the phone awake for an 1 hour and 44 minutes but the screen was on for only 14 minutes?

Is the phone signal being in yellow mean that it's using more battery than the other functions?
Yeah, I've noticed since Sprint has started selling off parts of their 'excess' towers, that the 'time without signal' drain is -much worse- and kinda effects roms (like Bonsai) that have a fix baked in.

I think I might give it a shot when it's finished/has a stock theme.

I am getting really good battery life on Unnamed RC10 ever since I switched to the EE03 modem, for some reason my phone gets really hot on the EF02 and EF10 modems and the battery drains like crazy.
Today/yesterday my phone lasted about 24 hours with over 4 hours screen on time, although I drove for 45 min, so it charged about 10% while in the car dock.

no need to! its a slick theme haha. You have options to customize the status bar as well the lockscreen! I personally use Widgetlocker and this theme gives me an option to disable the lockscreens included in the theme and only use Widgetlocker!
On every ef02 Rom, I can get a lock after a reboot. The key is whether it can keep the lock during 30 minutes of navigation, and whether it can get locks again and again without rebooting.

HTC Shift already has GB but ........
Both of my daughters have HTC Shifts; ever since the GB update they've had mucho problemo. So much so that 1 of the phones completely died after all the reboots and freezes (not rooted just stock phones).
sprint did replace that 1, but now the 2nd phone is starting to do the same thing. Guess we'll have to have that 1 replaced in a few weeks too.
I prefer to receive an update that is not riddled with bugs, so they can pacify the "we need an update every 6 months groups".
I have fun playing with the leaks and then going back to my daily; the fact we have those options with this phone is AWESOME.
I am happy for what I have and am not fixated on what I think I should have or am missing.
My thoughts exactly JD.
I'm all for things that make the phone better, but so far I'm not convinced that there's anything all that great for me in GB. I've been running leaks for a while, and they're fine, but I don't see anything too exciting in there. GB, meh.
My theory is that Samsung and Sprint both had Gingerbread hot and ready for release straight from the oven but the second they pulled open the oven, out popped the Gingerbread man and ran away so now they have to catch 'em first before they can start sharing the yummy gingerbread.

You can ask him. But he has always not supported older builds of his kernels. By leaving them up just leaves it open for questions and requests that he probably did not want to deal with. Upward and onward, thus is the community. The problems you are having are very isolated and for the most part people are having the opposite experience. You may want to find a ICS rom you like with a stock kernel at first, calibrate your battery, run it for a full day or so, then run GLaDOS and gage your battery against that. Just a suggestion.

My best battery life on CM7:
I didn't get the screen on time but 54% is a good amount.
I was using the night RenderFX in CM7, thats why the colors are different.
I have a 3500MAh battery and i get like 30 hours of use 2-3 days standby with CM7 best rom by far even with OC kernel i get close to that with 1200Mhz cpu and 300Mhz gpu so i cant complain one bit and then i have the original battery as a back up so im good for almost a week. Best part is i only paid 7$ with free shipping for the bigger battery.
Just broke 4 hrs display time with CM7 and have 2 % left. Not bad.

I'm considering buying a new OEM battery for my 2.5 year old mt4g. I am rooted and running a custom rom, MyTouch UX 3.0 at the moment, but I usually use the CodeFireX AOSP Jelly Bean rom. Here is a screenshot of my current battery usage:

So around 6-7 hours with wifi turned off and the phone in my pocket at school. Its okay-ish for a 2 year old battery, but should I go on amazon and buy myself an OEM battery for $7? Also, does anybody know a kernel for CodeFire X that gives good battery life? Feedback please...

I'd probably get a new battery myself. It's not terribly expensive.

It SEEMS a little low, but I've seen worse. If you're looking for a new battery check out Anker.

battery is dead. i've got a new one!
OK guys, I got the battery from the above post. Just one last problem. Since the battery is extended, my meter says the battery is full when its really only around 90%. This can be fixed by charging while the phone is off. Since I am rooted, I tried to clear the battery stats in cwm, but the problems still there
