Hey that's pretty cool. Is it solid? Thinking about the height / angle, where do you use it? (coffee table, computer desk etc)

the stand is adjustable so it will go from the coffee table to computer desk no prob and it is realy stable.
i can even rotate the screen and look at it in port mode if im reading or what not.

Could you possibly go more in depth with how you made this i really like it and wouod like to do one myself

That actually looks pretty nifty. I'd also like to see how you did it.

i will get more pictures up today so you can get a general idea of how it was made, it took like 6mins to make.
i will post thepix after i get them in my bucket account.

Sweet, thanks!

Looks like you Velcro-ed it onto an old PC monitor.
At first I was like, "whaaa?" -but the idea has grown on me.
Well done!

the fit one i jst cut 2 holes in the back of the orignal packaging and put the tabs on the top of the monitor stand in the holes and then glued the rest to the stand.
the 2nd one i glued te keyboard to a small monitor stand to make it look as if floating and to be able to use my mouse under it,
i like the 2nd stand better, and i shortened the usb cable for the keyboard since i dont need wire all over since the tab is sitting right ove it and it also has a usb hub for the wireless mouse and my iphone.

I love it!

Great work indeed. Love to see the DIY mods. I need to do this myself now. Thanks or sharing it.

i think im going to make a book style case for it now.

LOL you stole my idea... I have an old book that is big enough to encase the tab. I'm going to hollow out the pages and glue them together and make some sort of latch/magnetic closure to keep it secure. I think I wanna find a push-n-lock type latch so I just close it and snap it closed, and when I wanna open I squeeze it and it pops open. Still undecided on the locking mechanism but I'll figure something out

I was going to do the same hollow the book and glue pages then I was going to drill 2 holes for magnets and a metal plate a thin one in the cover to keep it closed.
I have not had time to work on it though I'm modding my Mac mini.

My version
I took a different approach:
The black box is the tablet in its case. The monitor is an HP 1850 and it is connected via hdmi with an HP hdmi/vga adapter. The keyboard is a bluetooth from HP's Touchpad fire sale. $25 for the hdmi/vga and $20 for the keyboard.
The monitor I switch on and off with my Acer netbook.
The picture is pretty crappy, but you get what you pay for.

So is it connected via VGA to the monitor?

Yes, just a standard VGA connector on the monitor connects to the HP hdmi/vga adapter.

Got a link to the adapter and no root is needed right? ,plus does it work on any VGA monitor?

Video out USB with remote... $19, shipped

Has anyone seen this?
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.22025
It is made for HTC Diamond, but if it really works, I think it should work for Touch Pro/Fuze as well... I doubt my Fuze will fit it thou, but I have a connector for it.
For the price, I would love to give it a try.
This is nice too: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.22026
but I don't need it, since I already have 2 batteries
Those are nice. I am really thinking about getting the battery charger.
does htc diamond even have a tv-out option?? i'm really sure it doesn't.
as far as I know only touch pro has TV out. I might be wrong too.
can anyone tell me if the av cable will work with the orignal adapter? cause i won't want to carry around the big dock all the time.
I have the Fuze, and downloaded the video out Cab off this forum. I used the Ipod cable which looks like the one in the picture with the Fuze supplied adapter.
I have a TV-out cable that i got from expansys for my verizon TP. My buddy has a sprint diamond and my cable does not work with his phone. Plus the picture of the dock looks like a TP not a diamond.
Im buying that thing tomorrow.
Just had one shipped out today. Ill let you guys know how it does. btw, it says it will take 14 days.
I use dealextreme often. When they say 'ships in 2-5 days' they actually mean 'we might get round to shipping it in a couple of weeks'. This is because they hold no stock, they get the items in once they have been ordered.
But they always ship eventually, and there are some great toys on the site.
i ordered this on 3/28 in the evening and was finally shipped out today according to the tracking site it left hong kong today just to give you guys an idea on the shipping.
I Lol'd. A lot of things are wrong with this cradle guys. You should've seen it. First off, that is the worst remote I've ever seen. Second off, it shows a diamond on the box. Thirdly, there is a white iPod cable pictured. Lastly, The TouchPRO tv-out is always in landscape! how do you plan on using landscape like that? (I don't care that it's a cradle It should be in landscape. I guess you could say the original htc cradle is like that too, but I guess that's why I didn't get that either.
Does the battery really work with the Touch Pro? It says 11 pin usb and thats what the pro has but is it the same layout?
i got mine a few days ago item is as described, works well with my fuze. now the cons are that the phone is quite heavy for the dock so it just rolls forward or backwards unless you have it straight up can't angle it without rolling, and i hate the fact that the connections are in front rather than having it on the back. so what i did was dissasembled the docking station and flip the lid backwards that connects the phone and cut out the front (which is now the back) where the usb pc cord connects to so now when i dock the phone its got support and is at a perfect angle and the usb connects are on the back. i took pictures of the dock station with my phone but don't know how to upload it here, let me know how please to show the pictures. thanks
ok i figured it out

Fuze Bike Mount

Anyone know a good and cheap mount that fits the fuze well? Id like to use a bike computer/gps on it while riding.
Ive looked around on ebay and the web and cant find anything that looks like its sturdy or fits the phone well.
this is for the touch which may not work because its thinner then the fuze

thanks
It's your phone, but this sounds like a really bad idea to me. Rain or the splash from a puddle could be rather expensive, not to mention a crash. I'd just use a cycling computer if I were you.
I mountain bike, and I keep my fuze secure in the ipod pouch of my camelback.
Theres a ton of cases for other phones desigined for this reason that are waterproof and mounted to the bike...finding one that fits is the key. All the real cycle computers/GPS are all upwards of $300 - kinda stupid to spend that much when the phone can do all the same stuff.
plus im putting in on a road bike - nothing off road, the worst bumps i encounter are small curbs

i second this. i do alot of cycling and would like to find a mount instead of having to have it in the phone pouch on my pack. i use gps cycle computer and would love to see my statistics in real time.

I just bought this, closest waterproof box to the phones dimensions
http://www.gpscity.com/ram-mount-waterproof-aqua-box-3-atv-utv-strap-mount.html
Couldn't use the standard 1 inch u-bolt because my bikes handlebars are about 3inches, hopefully the strap is just as sturdy.
I also got this 1/2 inch foam pad, the box is an extra .38 inches deeper then the phone. I'll slice it to fit or the extra padding might be able to be compressed to make a real tight fit.
http://www.gpscity.com/ram-mount-aqua-box-3-foam-padding-0.5-inches-thick.html
Came to $60 after using a 10% off promotion code (RAMGUF5285) for ram mounts i found online - not too bad when most other waterproof cases are close to $100 with out the mount.
Ill post some pictures and the result once i install it and go for a test ride or two.

Perfect!! this is exactly what i needed. Its soild as a rock - the bracket and arm are all metal and the case is very strong plastic. It doesnt move or bounce at all when going over big bumps.
The best part about it is that the front of the case is soft clear plastic and the touch screen works through it.
Here are some pictures, hopefully this helps other people.

RAM Mount
+1 on using the RAM mount to attach to handlebars (although I have mine mounted on my motorcycle!) but instead of the aquabox (which I also have to use in the rain) I usually have my phone in a ProClip USA mount. I have the charging version (since I have power available, obviously) but in literally 1000's of miles I've never had my treo, 6700, mogul or now my TP come out of the mount, even with some pretty huge pothole experiences...
Regarding the aquabox, it seems to get pretty hot in there, and I've actually thought about drilling a few small holes to allow some airflow. Has anyone done that?
I have one of these:

It's the best solution I could find. You can still operate the touchscreen (including scrolling etc) well when it is in the case.

Just bought the one you mentioned above; keyboard works pretty good but times out very quickly. It has to be reconnected in the settings every 15 minutes or so of inactivity. Typing is extremely fast and responsive though.
This keyboard is more of a universal keyboard than it is tailored to Android. It's got a home key on it, and the esc key doubles as a back key, but it also has a Windows logo key.
My biggest complaint is the folio case itself is extremely cheaply made. It's floppy, and doesn't really support itself very well. As a matter of fact, it almost makes it awkward to use. The keyboard is molded into the case and does not come out. The tablet is held on by one big sticky patch on the case. It doesn't leave any residue, but it does leave me wondering how many times I can remove the tablet from the case before it doesn't stick any more. Unfortunately the tablet doesn't fit into my car dock RAM mount while it's in the case, so I would be removing the case every day.
The case also covers the speakers on the Iconia, which muffles the sound pretty good.
All in all, like the keyboard, hate the case. I think it's way too overpriced to have such a crappy, flimsy, cheap feel to it. I think I'll be returning it.
Att sells a real nice keyboard. Very thin. 50 bones though
The standard acer bluetooth keyboard and acer mini usb mouse is the best combination I have found to date. I use this setup in the office. But to go mobile...this makes you carry around a keyboard no matter what. It's nice, not practical for daily mobile use IMO.
worth it
I got this keyboard, works wonderfully. Adhesive bit sticks nicely to tablet, keys travel well, And connects easily via bluetooth. Worth it if you need a keyboard. I've used it for school, taking notes, even writing whole essays on docs
I bought this keyboard for only 14 bucks
^Same as him. Works like a champ too, I would recommend it in a heart beat. I've had mine since Feb and its still in great shape plus, despite the look, it protects the tablet well.

[PSA] The OEM Universal Dock Scratches the Back Cover

I just noticed this on my Note. It's not bad and you can't see it unless you look for it but I'd imagine it would get worse over time.
Here's the problem. The Note moves as you're using it in the dock and the stand is hard plastic so it leaves abrasions.
Here's the fix (from Lowe's)
I use the OEM dock and am not seeing any abrasion, yet, but thanks for the tip.

I use it also and don't see any but I think I will apply these just to be safe. Thx BH
What is the universal dock capable of other than acting as a stand? How much n where can you buy them from?
I have three of the docks and my Note spends a lot of time in them. That may be why I'm showing more wear than you guys.
I got mine at MacMall for $29.99 all in. Shipping is free and 2-day if you belong to ShopRunner. It's pretty much a stand but it has a 3.5MM out jack to plug speakers in to it. The old docks were made to fit each size tablet and provided better support. The new one also has the Note sitting pretty upright compared to the old one. Demandarin, BB has them in stock in Alexandria for $34.99 if you want to see it first.

got mine at best buy and also use an HDMI plug which i piggy back to the back of this. I pretty much do all of my charging on it and moovie watching as well as listen to my music. It was about $35 at BB. I think the HDMI was about $22 on amazon. I will look for a link.
I went and got a notebook 'skin'.. those lightly adhesive decoration sheets meant to put on the lid of laptops and netbooks and carefully cut it to match the Note and stuck it on there... mainly because I'd heard so much about the Note's back being 'soft'.
So the dock would only scratch the sticky.
My biggest complaint about the dock is that you can't charge AND sync at the same time. It would have been nice to have a USB connection on this too.
Since no ones mentioned hdmi output in any of these docks, im assuming because there is'nt one, but just incase, does anyone know or own a compatible note dock with hdmi output?
HDMI would have to run through the charging port via a dongle so a charging dock won't do it without an additional adapter. Any other type of dock you can just flip the tab over and use the dongle.

I've been using the universal dock as a stand for about an hour a day and haven't noticed any scratches, but thanks for posting this! I'll keep an eye on mine. I got the dock at Best Buy (at the time, they were about the only ones locally who had it in stock), because the regular stand I was using didn't accomodate the thin-ness of the Note very well and I was afraid of it landing on the floor one day.

Modded my Note II to do wireless charging

Hi guys,
I just got done modding my Note 2 to do wireless charging and I'm extremely happy about it!
It is super easy and simple. Unscrew the back, solder copper tapes on the terminals that already exist.
It would have taken me 5 minutes if I had a good soldering iron... Mine sucked really bad (the tip wouldn't heat up right) so it took more like 10 minutes.
Here is a Youtube link to a nice tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDSyjl_2CXo
Here is a cheap wireless tag + charger for Note 2 from China for $50. Took 2 weeks to get here. (Cheapest I could find for both coil and charger) It works great. Charging distance is 5mm and output is 1000mA. Not fast but good enough.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/170995097433?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
When you get the wireless tag you just need to heat up the terminals and take them off. You can leave the terminals on, but it's pretty thick, adds about 1-2mm of thickness so you'll need to buy a bigger cover to use it without taking them off. Tutorial here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5bnenaI86I&feature=youtu.be
The wireless tag adds very slight bulk, maybe a slight curve where it bulges out the most, but the regular backing will close and it's barely noticeable. Especially since I use my Note II in a case I won't ever see it. It may bug some people that don't use any case or cover.

Here is my Note II charging.
I found that wireless charging on a flat surface was actually too big of a hassle... I had to position it right and trying to operate the phone while charging was difficult because it would slide off.
This was what I had in mind when I did the mod, to have it in a stand. I had a Belkin Flipblade stand, so I put the charging plate there and now all I need to do is slip the phone in it. (I had to attach some stuff in front to keep the Note from sliding off the stand as you can see)
I did this mod because I wanted to be able to sit in front of my desk, slip the phone on a stand which will automatically start charging, and listen to music through my Logitech speakers wirelessly. (Bluetooth audio receiver is on its way as I write...)
Charging plate
This notification pops up every time I put the Note on the charger. I'd like to get rid of this notification but I don't know how... No big deal, though.
Also another thing is, keeping the screen on while charging option doesn't work with wireless charging and this really bugs.. I guess I'll have to do some search to do this.
Anyway just wanted to show off..
looks great, i have the same charging pad, let me try diy a dock station with that like u!
Also I downloaded Tasker to keep screen on while charging. Works like a charm!
