Hello,
Can somebody post a step-by-step guide for installing a custom rom (if possible with a dual boot option).
I would not like to brick my brand new device ;-)
Thanks in advance.

Step 1 - Getting CWM on the phone:
Download the file from here: http://www.mediafire.com/?57njygc8oianjac
Or here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1130524
1) Turn on your phone while holding VOL+ and VOL- (should come up with pink/purple screen)
2) Connect the USB cable
3) Go to My Computer and Browse your phone to find the folder name "image" that contains recovery.img.
4) Copy all the contents of the folder "image" on your computer (this will be your backup)
5) Replace the recovery.img with the one you've downloaded.
6) Remove the USB cable and take the battery out of the phone.
7) Now Hold Vol+ and Power, to boot into CWM recovery.
Step 2 - Installing a custom rom:
1) Boot your phone as normal, connect the USB cable and mount the SD Card.
2) Browse the phone and copy the Custom Rom.zip ( http://sourceforge.net/projects/u8800oxygen/files/ ) file into the root folder of the SD card.
3) Disconnect the cable and turn off the phone. Boot into CWM Recovery by pushing Vol+ and power.
4) Go to Backup option and do a full backup of the existing Rom. (this will enable you to go back to what you have now, in case the installation fails)
5) Select the "Install zip from SD card" and browse the Custom Rom.zip file, using Vol+ and Vol- or the soft keys if required to go back. To select something in CWM use Power button.
6) When installation has finished, reboot the phone and you're done.

Hi,
I'm not quite sure what you are trying to do,but if you are attempting to install a NAND ROM ,You must place the ZIP onto root of your sd card.
More information is required:
Are you using magldr or clk,
Is this your first attempt?
What have you done up to this point?
if you are talking about the SD version of android, you unzip it into Android folder and run the two files.
Alright, this is what i'm doing .
First i deleted everything off my SD card, then i unzipped the file, then it comes up as 3 folders, so i put those in my SD card, then i install MAGLDR, then i install CLK, and then i chose the option to boot from SD card from the MAGLDR menu but nothing happens.
If it's any help, i'm trying to do this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905060
You're trying to install it through CWM/ Clockwork Mod.
Follow the instructions on his thread, READ, not scan, skim, survey, READ! He has two methods presented, one with installation for cLK (a bootloader for android) and installation for MAGLDR (a bootloader for android and WP7). Use either guides he has.
Sorry, i'm a noob .
But look : Download MAGLDR_CWM_Recovery_v3.0.2.5_for_NexusHD2_135M.zip (5.1 MB)
Enter MAGLDR 1.13 by holding power key while booting the phone, and then select "USB Flasher" via "VolUp" and "VolDown". Confirm key is green "Call" button.
Run DAF.exe to flash ClockworkMod Recovery 3.0.2.5 (MAGLDR_recovery_3.0.2.5.img).
Says you gotta do both .. :/
Do both what? He's just presenting steps. Just do what he says. Using the vol down/up keys, and the call button to select, pick USB flasher. Plug phone into computer. Flash the daf.exe from the zip he presented above his instruction.
Then proceed with what he says. Please read. Reading is a fundamental, universal skill needed to get through life, not just used to improve your experience in xda.

Ok,
I can see you very confused...
Magldr and clk are both bootloaders.
You only need ONE.
What was the name of the file you unzipped?
Reboot your phone and when it starts and vibrates ,hold the "end call" button on the right.
If you see this:
aMAGLDR V1.13
Build: Feb 1 2011 03:46:07
by Cotulla 2011
1. Boot WPH
2. Boot AD SD
3. Boot AD NAND
4. USB Mass Stg
5. USB Flasher
6. USB TTY
7. AD Hard reset
8. AD Recovery
9. Tetris
10. Services
11. Reset
12. Power Down
then you have MAGLDR installed.
edit:curse my slow typing.
3 posts while I was plodding.
Dunno if I helped
I know i have MAGLDR installed because i did it a coupe hours ago ..
I just don't know what to do with all the files & folders i get when i unzip the ROM .
This is way too confusing for my tiny brain .. :/

It says that first you have to install MAGLDR and THEN enter into CLW ..
Look : " Enter ClockworkMod Recovery when you're on MAGLDR 1.13 "
Sorry, this is just really confusing for me
See, this is how i have the files in my SD card, then i go to Boot AD SD and it doesn't work :/
Well might as well write a guide for you. XP
Download MAGLDR 1.13.
Install MAGLDR from the tri color screen, which is accessible from powering on the device whilst holding volume down.
Download the CWM 150mb partition.
Turn on your phone whilst holding the power button.
Navigate to usb flasher
Plug phone into computer
Flash the daf. Exe in the Cwm file you downloaded.
Download your android build.
Put the build on the root of your device.
Power up your phone whilst holding power button.
Navigate to ad recovery
Navigate to install zip from sd
Navigate to select zip from sd
Select the zip to install.
Navigate to yes.
Wait for it to install despite how long.
When done, go back and navigate to reboot device.
Note the word zip. Meaning don't unzip the build.

I did all that a little bit sooner before you posted it ! Lol
Many thanks !

I noticed many of you including myself, while trying to install cLK using RUU in order to run NAND get stuck at the Fast boot screen (forgot to update the kernel).
At that stage the SD card seems inaccessible and your phone won't respond to hard resetting. Well I found the solution to restore your phone back to normal!!
Suggest you grab ksubedi's HD2 tool and (assuming you already have HSPL installed)
1. Power off the phone (pull the battery if required)
2. Hold on the Vol Down key, press power
3. Connect to the computer, on the red-blue-green-white screen, wait for Serial to change to USB (if not install WMDC)
4. Run the HD2 toolkit, choose Task29 (this will wipe your phone out)
5. When the phone reboots, hold down the vol again to get back to the red-blue-green-white screen, ensure you see USB
6. Choose cLK Repartition, choose the right partition sizes (150 MB with 5 MB cache works for most non-sense ROMs), hit "Repartition"
7. When the phone reboots, press the Back button on the phone, wait till you get the Fast Boot processing commands screen (If you dont get this, you need to install the ADB drivers)
8. Choose cLK Install Recovery, hit "Install", press "Yes", follow instructions
Now download one of Energy Roms (which I prefer)
http://nrgz28.sylvester20007.com/Leo/Cookie/index.php
9. Extract the rom on your desktop
10. Open up your HD2 toolkit again
11. In the bottom of it, Click browse and select the NBH file on your desktop
12. Reboots, hold down the vol again to get back to the red-blue-green-white screen, ensure you see USB
13. Then Click install RUU on the HD2 toolkit to flash the new rom
Enjoy! and Thanks to ph03n!x
Thank me why, am just about to post something to contribute here
If you have the Android SDK's ADB/ Fastboot, and are stuck in the cLK Fast Boot screen, you can issue "fastboot reboot" from the folder where you have extracted fastboot.exe to reboot the phone, of course with the phone connected. This saves you from opening the battery cover to reboot.
And if you are in the fast boot screen already, dont bother doing a Task 29 again. Just open ksubedi's HD2 toolkit and install cLK recovery.
Finally, after installing recovery, hold down the Home key when the phone reboots - this will take you to recovery. In recovery, choose mounts and storage > mount USB to get access to the phone's SD Card (when plugged in to the computer, of course!). Copy your favorite .zip ROM to the SD Card, and flash it through "Install zip from SD Card" > Choose Zip.
This is an effort to write a comprehensive all-in-one guide (for newbies too) to flash ROMS on Huawei S7 Slim 201.
First and foremost you have to root your device (so that you can use certain applications e.g. ROM Manager, Titanium Backup). Do the following:
1. Download SuperOneClick (google it) and extract the files
2. Install Huawei Ideos S7 Slim drivers to your computer (if you have not done it already).
3. Connect your device to your computer via USB. Make sure you have activated USB Debugging on your device. Go to settings > applications > development > tick on USB Debugging.
4. Run SuperOneClick.exe. Disable your Antivirus program before running SuperOneClick (optional but helpful). If the drivers for your device are not installed, SuperOneClick will prompt you to let it find the drivers itself. Press yes and let it continue.
5. Click the root tab. (For my device I had to click root several times because the process got stuck, but eventually it succeeded)
6. After the rooting process ends, reboot your device.
Important notice: Although SuperOneClick confirmed twice that the device was rooted, Titanium Backup could not confirm root. If anyone knows of another way please advise.
Now, in order to flash ROMs do the following:
First of all, you have to install ClockworkMod Recovery on your device. (This will help you to perform many other tasks)
There are two versions of ClockWork Recovery (that I know of).
First one is v2.1.5.8
1. Download the recovery zip (201u.7z) from the attachments .
2. Extract the file.
3. Make sure you have activated USB Debugging on your device. Go to settings > applications > development > tick on USB Debugging
4. Turn off your device and connect it to your computer via USB.
5. Press the volume up key and the power key at the same time until the device enters fastboot mode.
6. Run install.bat (from the unzipped files)
7. When the process ends, reboot your device.
8. With the USB cable connected run reboot into recovery.cmd (from the unzipped files). In the window that will open on the PC, type “adb reboot recovery” without the quotation marks and your device (after a few seconds) will enter recovery mode. (This is something you will have to do every time you enter recovery mode, unfortunately, unless you upgraded to CM9 or CM10 where you can boot to recovery by long pressing the power button anchoosing Reboot> Recovery)
9. When you see the ClockworkMod recovery menu, use the volume up and down keys so many times until the message “back menu button enabled” appears at the end of the screen. Now you can use the power button as ENTER. (This is something you will have to do every time you enter recovery mode, unfortunately too)
Second one is CWM-based Recovery v6.0.1.2. (credit to WRCODE over at the androidtablets.net that mentioned it)
1. Download the recovery rar (install.rar) from the attachments.
2. Extract the file. (you will find no reboot into recovery.cmd in those files so, either use the one mentioned above, or use ROM Manager or GooManager (from Play Store) to reboot into recovery. Note: Those managers require rooting your device)
8a.With the USB cable connected run reboot into recovery.cmd . In the window that will open on the PC, type “adb reboot recovery” without the quotation marks and your device (after a few seconds) will enter recovery mode. (This is something you will have to do every time you enter recovery mode, unfortunately, unless you upgraded to CM9 or CM10 where you can boot to recovery by long pressing the power button and choosing Reboot> Recovery).
8b. Use ROM Manager or GooManager and select reboot recovery.
(this recovery version does not require anything in order for the power button to act as ENTER)
Having successfully flashed ClockworkMod Recovery, you are now ready to flash your custom rom.
1. Find the ROM that best suits you, download it and place the .zip file at the root of your internal SD Card.
2. Enter recovery mode (as explained above) and select wipe data/ factory reset. Once this is done, select wipe cache partition. Once this is done select advanced and then select wipe Dalvik cache. (very important to do all of these steps)
3. Go back at the original menu and select install zip from sdcard. Select choose .zip from sdcard. Select the .zip file that you placed at the internal SD card (make sure that it is the correct one) and press the power button for ENTER.
4. Once the ROM has been successfully flashed select reboot system now and press the power button.
If everything went ok, after a few minutes you will have your first glimpse of your new custom ROM.
Enjoy it and remember “Use the above instructions at your own risk.”
Moving to General.
usb driver for win7
hello. i've been using this tab for a while and would like to root it. sadly when i connected the usb cable to the tab the driver is not installed automatically. so i think maybe i have to install it on my own. but i can't find the driver anywhere, even the official website of huawei. (the page is available but when trying to download, it show "Service Temporarily Unavailable - The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.")
therefore i would like to request if anyone would be kind enough to upload the driver for me to proceed rooting this device.
thanks in advance.

Hi!
I can't flash my Redmi note 4G, it seems there's no way to get into recovery/fastboot mode.
It has china MIUI
ROM version: MIUI-KHICNBF28.0
Any way to "force" the phone in order to be flashed?
Already tried:
Power + Volume up = gets to a useless menu
Power + Volume down = normal boot
Updater app = no way to reboot in recovery mode, no way to select new flash
Tried to flash using adb and fastboot using Macbook, no luck, adb sees no device attached.
Please help! :crying:

hi, i haave the same problem, and my device is fake. maybe your's too.
Anyone have backup of stock KHICNBF28.0 rom? i need it to unbrick my device.
go claim your guarantee before it expired
Hi, (Technical complexity alert!!)
Step 1. Get Android SDK, with platform tools
Step 2. Setup UDEV rules for ur phome
Step 3. use adb to boot into bootloader
$./adb reboot bootloader
Step 4. Push the CWM or Philz Recovery or TWRP zip file to phone root dir
$./adb push 'philz-recovery.zip' '/media/' '<ur phone root folder>'
Step 5. Use fastboot to boot into CWM or Philz Recovery or TWRP
$./fastboot boot philz-recovery.img #this temporarily boots recovery without installing it
Step 6. Take backup on phone or ext sd card
Step 7. Use adb to copy ur backup folder from ph to computer for safe keeping
$./adb pull '/storage/emulated/legacy/clockworkmod/backup'
Step 8. Select and install Zip file that you pushed in step 4
Step 9. Done ur phone now has a custom recovery installed, now it very easy to install custom ROMs

How to install custom recovery and root
1. Go to settings on your phone and go to 'about phone' and find where it says build number and click on it 7 times and you unlock developer options.
2. Go into developer options and enable USB debugging and OEM unlock.
3. Download Odin on your PC and install https://samsungodin.com
4. Download twrp .tar file to your PC
J500f is here https://twrp.me/samsung
5. Download USB drivers for your model(your PC should automatically do it when you connect your device)
6. Connect youe device to PC and turn your device off
Next you want to put it into download mode. To do this gold the power button, vol down button and home button simultaneously
7. Disable auto reboot in Odin on PC. Then click the AP tab and locate the twrp file.
Flash the file onto your phone and disconnect from the PC once finished.
Next part is really important.
8. DO NOT REBOOT YOUR DEVICE YET. if you reboot you will lose your custom recovery.
While the phone is still in download mode after you disconnect from PC just remove the battery do not turn it off or reboot it.
9. Put the battery back in and then hold power button, home button and vol up button (same as putting into download only volume up instead of volume down)
10. This should reboot you into your brand new twrp recovery.
11. Just reboot device from twrp settings for now.
12. Download magisk zip to your device. You will find latest stable on first post here https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445
13. Turn your device off again. Reboot to recovery same as before (home button, power button and volume up button)
14. Click on install in twrp and locate the magisk.zip file and click on it and flash the file.
15. Reboot once done and go to magisk manager in your app drawer which the magisk.zip will install and thats it

How to install a rom
You must have custom recovery installed see the above comment to install.
1. Download the rom you wish to install and put it on your external SD card
2. Reboot your device to recovery.
3. Go to wipe >> advanced wipe and wipe system, data, internal, dalvik and cache.
4. Go to install and search for your rom.zip on external SD card.
5. Flash it and thats it.
6. If you want Google apps (gapps) you will have to download a suitable gapps package for your device and new rom. If your new rom is android 9 pie then download arm gapps, android version 9 and I would recommend the lighter gapps package like nano or pico.
7. Flash gapps right after flashing your rom.
8. Optional wipe dalvik and cache just in case and thats it
