HELP! Can't login - Eee Pad Transformer General

A few days ago i changed my gmail PW. Now the android features on my tablet won't work (gtalk, market, etc). When I'm prompted to enter my PW, i get a network connection error message. I've tried 'force stopping' the gmail, and google apps, without any luck. I have restored tablet to factory setting and even created a new gmail account to try but i can't login.
The browser works fine so I have ruled out the possibility of wi-fi connection. I would really appreciate some input.

any chance you have 2-step authentication enabled?

I check my google account setting. It asks me if i want to setup 2 step verification - i assume it's not currently active right?
I get the same network error message with my old account that my phone is registered to as well as the fresh one i made up just to see if it was my account.

Setup Student Gmail on Hero

Hi, having a troublesome time setting up my Grand Valley State email on the Hero.
My school uses gmail, but the email address is as follows:
[email protected]
Not sure what server ports to use, ect.
Help is really appreciated!
Assuming your uni is just using some form of Google Apps for Domains, just use the standard gmail app with you full email address as your login, and your normal email password.
I use Gapps for Domains with my own domain, and that is all that I do. The only "problem" is that I have to use a standard Gmail account to purchase apps from the Market.
Regards,
Dave
Appreciate the tip,
I tried using the gmail app, no luck, and even setting up an IMAP account. Ive never had luck getting any of my colleges emails to work.
I even cleared out my gmail used to download apps and what not, and tried using my schools email, no luck.
hmmm, a little stumped. Has to be something with the server ports.
I see there is a note at the mail login screen for your Uni that says:
Please note: Temporarily, if you are using anything other than the Gmail Web e-mail interface, such as IMAP/POP/MOBILE, you will need to do a one-time password change in order for these services to work properly. If you are using IMAP/POP/MOBILE services please click on "Reset/Change Your Password." You can re-use your current password if you wish.

Have you tried this?
Regards,
Dave
That did the trick.
That and I had imap.gvsu.edu for my incoming server instead of imap.gmail.com.
Thanks a bunch!
I'm having the same problem, I did the password reset, and set the imap server to imap.gvsu.edu with port 993 and 995, both didn't work. Can you give me full details on how to use it. I'm using the normal Email app on my droid x2, since im using my Gmail acount with the Gmail app.
i have the same problem too..

[Q] Can't connect to Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync

After having been connected to my company's MS Exchange server on my HTC EVO for over four months, I was prompted to change my password on the domain (on my PC) and since then, I've not been able to re-connect with the new password.
I tried deleting the account and rebooting my phone and re-creating the account from scratch, but whenever I try to re-connect, I get the following error message:
Setup could not finish
Unable to open connection to server
The IT guy at work put in his own credentials and had the exact same problem.
The interesting thing is that I downloaded a trial of Touchdown for Exchange which uses the same credentials, and that seems to connect fine. I have no idea why one works and not the other.
Does anyone know what might be happening when I try to connect by adding a new account?
My suspicion is that there was some change in the Exchange server settings that impacted me once I changed my password to reconnect, but would like to hear other theories.

I for the life of me don't understand why I can connect to my exchange server using a third-party app (touchdown) but not using the native email app.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
If your company made any changes to their exchange server, then you need to figure out exactly what is needed to connect. I have setup 10 different android phones on our exchange server, and the settings to connect were different on 5 of them. We also had 3 of them that were on exchange 2010 instead of exchange 2003, and those settings were even more different.

+1. I've spent hours with IT and with Sprint and nothing. I got this from Sprint to help my get it going, so I will post here in hopes it will help you. They sent me this link:
http://community.sprint.com/baw/message/208942
And this email:
"The only way to fix this issue is by having access to Active Directory on a server with Exchange plugins.
Go Active Directory Users & Computers (Enable Advanced Features if needed)
Open the properties of the user that is having the issue
Click on the Security Tab
Click the Advanced button
In the Default Permissions tab check the box at the bottom for "Include inheritable permissions from this object's parent"
Wait for AD to propagate (5-10 minutes) "
The info on the link I was not able to try because it required changes being made to the server that my company would not allow. The email info they sent me did not apply to me because the server at my job was already set up that way.
Good luck. I gave up getting the native app to work right. I don't know why something that should be so simple is such a mission.
Not sure if this will work or if you have tried it but. Clear the application data/cache from the applications menu in settings.
For you server, did you put in "owa.mycompany.com" or "somethingelse.mycompany.com"?
It sounds like this might be the problem. You need to have your owa server listed there instead of the exchange server for Outlook.

Thanks for the suggestion though.

[Q] Stock mail App FC's (Exchange)

so I got my Xoom. LOVE IT!!!! however......... I went to set up my work email account on it and when I got to the point of checking the settings ( after entering exchange server info) I get a force close. When I enter the WRONG info for exchange I get the normal error ie: cannot connect blaa blaa.. Its only when I use the correct info. Right now im using touchdown (great app) but I would like to give the built-in software a shot.
Things I have tried...
Factory reset (fail)
Clearing the email cache under settings>applications (fail)
New Xoom (same night that I got it)(fail)
Flash stock img
Im starting to think its a setting on our exchange server or the SSL cert.
I tried setting a pin code to secure my device with no luck.
Does anyone have any ideas of things I can try. Google failed me on this one haha

Just got my Xoom yesterday myself. We use Exchange 2007 and mine fired up like a champ. The built in email software is geat (I like it better than the iPad email app).
it must be an apk issue. Only thing i can think of is to reimage.
^ Agreed. The FC's would be caused by the software on the Xoom. Exchange sync works very well with the native client.
So try to flash the stock hi39 img then I guess ill give it a try
Or does anyone have the mail.apk from a working xoom i could try
Well an update.
New xoom. same issue. Our SSL cert that we use on our exchange 2003 server is a godaddy cert. does anyone know if this is a known issue?

[SOLVED] Help with email

I installed the GMail app on my rooted KF, and since no outgoing email will work. I have tried the following:
Email with Kindle Email app -- Will not function, says cannot find outgoing server
Email with Gmail app -- Will not function. Says "Sending Email Failed"
Email with Kindle App (Yahoo) -- Again, cannot find the outgoing server.
This has worked in the past, for a long time after my KF rooting. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Have you checked system/etc/hosts to see if something put your SMTP servers in there?
Network issue....
So, the issue came down to the wireless network. I usually use my KF at the office for email, so the failures occured there. I tried this on my home network, and the KF worked without issue. Must be something with the way IT has the network setup.

Probably locking down port 25 to prevent malware from sending spam from the internal network. Maybe? Glad it's working for you at home though!

Google Apps on a Nook: Two-factor-authentication forces me to re-login. Login fails?

Hey Nookers,
I just noticed that I was logged out from the Google Apps on my Nook Simple Touch GlowLight, maybe due to the switch to using Google's 2-factor authentication.
When I tried to login again it doesn't accept my password. (Yes, 100% correct )
This happened on other devices as well, but then a button appeared that allowed me to use the "browser-based login". Not on the Nook
How can I login, with 2-factor authentication active?
Thanks in advance
Create an app-specific password and use that.
