Ok so I have the newest marketplace and it has an annoying bug. When I click the install button in the top right before the page of the app has loaded fully (screenshots for example) it will keep saying "loading" and it will not go to the page where I have to confirm my download, till I close the market in the task manager, and then to wait for the whole page to load before clicking install. Anyway to resolve this issue?

try wiping the cache of market through settings if you can
This is a known issue. Its a bug or something in market version 3.1.5. Lots of people on different handsets have it. There is no know fix. Some have reported that clearing the cache helps others not.
The big point to note is that not everyone has this issue. Could be region related or something but its an known issue. Different roms seem to have no effect on the bug. Its been logged somewhere on the google android issues blog thing.
Some people have downgraded the market version and then frozen the market updater (using titanium backup) to stop it from re downloading. The older versions dont seem to have the same issue (they may of course have other issues)
Im personally going to live with it and wait for the next version which i hope fixes it.

Thank you. As this is a known issue it is not really a problem to me. We'll just hope google releases a fix soon.
I have the same issue. Hope they resolve it soon.
why dont you all just downgrade your market till they fix it? anyway there is a new market update 3.1.6
Guys. If you have problems with market you should uninstall updates and use the older one. no problems at all. I allways hated the new market. but I will have to get used to it sooner or later.
I like the new app-market actually. But one time when I uninstalled the updates, it wouldnt update back anymore.. So if I were to go back to the old market till they release an update, how could I update it to that version again.

Hi
I'm also tired of this but. In order to solve problem then it occurs, I use "Fast reboot". It boots the hole phone in 2 seconds, and after that I can use Market again (until next time it hangs) LOL

I've only come across this problem sometimes when dealing with updates for installed apps, usually if I wait a while and try to update the app again the page loads and I can install the new version.

Well that explains it.. They haven't done anything here in India, maybe because we already had access to paid apps
Here in holland they have seperated the info and comments. Now you can read much more comments instead of the latest three...

In Japan, we got the price changes (everything now is displayed in Yen), but nothing else. Automatic updating would be nice.
How you all get the new logo? I enter the android market, it is still showing the old market logo on my phone.
I only get the below paid apps :

It's just a logo telling us we can use paid apps -_-. If it's 2.2 related, we would be able to see live wallpaper downloads too.
We are using 1.6. Not 2.2. Please don't go delusional now.
Chong - just try restarting your phone lor. Maybe the icon will be refreshed that way.

You can't see Live Wallpapers just because your handset is on Android 1.6! Android Market doesn't list apps which are not compatible to your handset based on Android Version. I said, you would get this market eventually if you fall within 32 upgraded countries by goggle for Paid Apps. But this is just a workaround to force that Update now!
Well I tried the tutorial, doesn't seem to work for me.
Infact now I can't install any updates to my apps. (Download failed - Unknown error)
Luckily I have a backup of my market.apk so I'm going to reinstall

It should be working, You might be updating an app which you didn't install from market but it has an update for you. Try searching a new app and isntall it! Didn't you get the New Market through this?
And you need not re-install the Market Apk, just restore the original market settings from the app itself and it would be enough!

That's what I'm trying to say. Cos you used the word "Froyo", so I thought you're trying to say this market change is 2.2-related, which is not.

It is 2.2 related in the way that this is how the market works on Android 2.2. I guess Google decided to change things on their own, instead of waiting for OEMs.
Also, I don't have the new market, and I probably won't get it any time soon.
Anyone know what fixes Market apps not downloading very first time you start download?
What i mean is when i first install a rom and try to download an app from market it gets stuck on "downloading" but wont download apps, apps will download eventually but it may take few minutes or few hours to start, and after the first app downloads successfully market functions without problems.
I know there is a trick to make it download quick first time, but i dont know what it is.It used to be clearing market cache or syncing gmail but that doesn't work anymore. There is a few roms that i used that have this problem, gotta be a fix for it.

Yes wrong forum but you can answer the question (assuming you know if not apologize), but what i do is when i first boot up on a new rom, i open up the market, then it will auto send me to sign in after i sign in and everything syncs up i restart the phone. When the phone boots back up, i open the market let it sit for a little while then go to menu -> downloads, and usually my previously installed apps are listed i try to install one if successful i have no market problems(btw this was all done over wifi).

This belongs in General.

No,my market is working fine(i don't mind waiting for first download to go through",i was asking because someone was having this issue on kanged rom that i posted,so i wanted to see if there is quick way to start first download.I will try your method next time i flash and see if it works.
I've had this issue with every rom i've tried, except for the baked snack one, and i've tried just about every rom ;p
The workaround i've found is..turn on wifi.. open up the market place and let the icons show up in your notification bar.. then turn off wifi. Works flawless for me everytime.

I usually just sign into google talk and it fixes it.
I loaded up EB13 last night and had no issues until I started downloading my apps. I have Slingplayer that I purchased to watch my Slingbox on my phone while on the go. If I search the Market it is missing. At first I thought it was something with paid apps, but I noticed my other bought apps were listed. I also noticed Ringlert was not listed in the market...a free app.
If I login into the Market on a PC web browser I can find those apps with no issues. But it says I have them installed on my phone already. Umm..no I don't!
Anyone else having issues like this?
There seem to be some people, myself included, that are having issues with protected apps. I noticed that NYTimes is not showing up and neither is TMZ. I need to try a clean install and see if I still have the problem, I cannot tell if this issue is happening after a data restore from CMW, or if its a real bug. Did you do any data restore?
The problem is the market does not recognize this release as a legitimate. It will take a few days before it does. There is a fix you can apply if you search for it in the device section.

Kinda figured something like that... think that's the i9000 fingerprint fix or something like that.
Also, try to contact the developer of the app. They might be able to change something that might make it work.
Just for the Record, I'm having the same problem as well. I Installed the EB13 and Slingplayer isn't listed in the Market, I'll wait a few days to see what happens. Hopefully it's back in there cause I really don't feel like screwing around with crap.

Same problem. I have eight or so apps that I used to have that either can't see in the market after applying EB13, or that come up as "not found" on AppBrain now. Google customer service suggests that I reboot my phone. *sigh*

Slingplayer still missing. Missing on another phone that isn't rooted. He refuses to root his phone.
Clearing the cache won't help with this problem. It's on Google's side.
If you are rooted, you can always backup the apk file while on the old 2.1 or DK28 build when it showed up in the market, then reinstall by hand after loading EB13

Same here, the app I couldn't find before today is showing up now.
Yep looks like Google fixed it...Slingplayer is now showing with an update to boot.
I have a non rooted, XOOM running 3.0.1 and everything seemed to be great but for some reason when I start the CNN app from an icon it starts up fine and then a second or two later either closes or force closes everytime without fail. I've tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it. I've tried rebooting the XOOM as welll. Still happens and I can't figure out why - it may have been the 3.0.1 update.
I usually use the CNN widget to launch videos/stories and that still works fine without issue. But if I try launching it with the app icon it crashes.
Anybody with 3.0.1 not having this issue? I'm not sure what else to try at this point other than to accept it's a bug and move on for now.
I had an update waiting for me in the Market this morning for CNN. Try updating and see if its still happening.
LOL, will have to wait until I get home. Hopefully that will fix it. I have to say though, the CNN app on XOOM is very slick and a better implementation than the current iPad one (although similar).
i get a lot of force closes as well. the update fixed some issues, but i still cannot play video since the 3.01 update. anyone else have this issue of videos not playing in CNN app?

i had the exact same problem. I couldn't keep the app open and then when it did open it wouldn't play videos. I was able to fix the issue by going into the settings, then applications, then click on the CNN app and finally click clear data. You will get a warning click OK. Now open cnn it will say opening for the first time. It should work well now, this worked flwlessly for me.
Which cnn app? I see several and want the good one

Hmm, true true. It is indeed a rip-off of the tiles system on WP7. But, I dunno about you, this is refreshing. Hehehe, something about the tiles on my market feels nice!
Another thing - the new market can only download one app at a time, on the old market you could select "update all" so that's another bad thing.

From what I remember, it will hapen and you won't even notice until it's there. One day you will open the market and it will be the new version.
I tried it but I'm unable to download and update a single app. The progression bar is loading but it never starts. I guess I'll wait for an official release.
By the way, does Google automatically updates rooted phones (or phones with a custom ROM), because I'm currently with VilainROM2.0....I thought we had to update manually.
