This might be a weird question to you, but do you have both qwerty and azerty keyboards in Canada ?
If only qwerty, how do you make accents and special french caracters like ùàçèé ?
All these questions because i would be interested in buying one from the US, but I wouldn't a qwerty keyboard.
At first I had planned on getting the slate only in the US and the dock back in France, but it sounds like the dock is going to cost 150€ if we do not take the bundle ...
ive bought a lot of stuff from pccyber, they are a local here in ottawa with 4 stores and 2 in montreal. i've never order anything from their website though. i wouldnt put too much on their release date on their website, i've bought my last two asus eee pc from them and they are horrible for stock and never know when they are suppost to get new shipments of stock. i had to check all 4 locations to find the one i wanted even though their website said it was suppost to be in stock so i don;t have much confidence in their site. i only bought the eee pc from them because they are the only local store that carried them and had a decent price. Also seems fishy that they are the only retailer in canada taking preorders...
anyone know if futureshop will be carrying this? i assume so since best buy is suppost to be carrying it and they own futureshop.
edit: i just noticed they changed the release date again to april 25, thats 3 times now.

French Canadians (i'm one of them) uses Qwerty keyboards. The same layout, with minor differences. And you can often buy "bilingual" keyboards: french and English characters are printed on the keys.

Actually, i haven't checked if the transformer keyboard can be ordered in Canadian Bilingual (refered as fr_ca)
I called both the local PCCyber stores here in Montreal. One guy had no idea when is this coming ("It might come tomorrow and I would not know today") and the other one said it'll come end of next month! When I said but your website says coming April 25, he boldly said "it's wrong".

I'm travelling internationally on the 29th and this would have been the perfect travel companion but I have little to no hope of getting my hands on Asus Transformer
Edit: Although I should mention, 2-3 days ago when I talked one of the Ottawa store reps, he was confident he'll get it on 18th. He even said he knows I'm in Montreal but instead of reserving one for shipping online, if I can come to Ottawa and put my money down, he can give me one on the 18th in store. Amazon.ca is not listing the EEE Pad Transformer at the moment, though I understand it did at one point (and was quickly taken down). So I doubt any release date from their page is reliable.
I'm holding on for the Asus, as the Xoom is (now) overpriced and I don't want to wait anxiously for a software update to unlock the SD Card slot. And I love the keyboard dock too, hopefully it will come out soon after (it's a big part of their marketing after all).

If this ends up happening, I think it is because they do not have enough supply for the US and don't want bad press for not being able to keep up with demand.

While I would love for this to be true, I wouldn't place to much hope on PcCybers preorder page and wait for official news from Asus. It seems to me like they are just fishing for early preorders even though they have no idea when its coming out.
It certainly does seem like even Asus is not sure of when they can launch. It's getting frustrating..

I'm sure Bestbuy will have them in store first like the ep121.
Not interested in the keyboard for $150,
but at $75 maybe, just really dont see much of a need for it.

There's a pre-order with no pricing and no release date on expansys.ca. Sounds more like a "we'll notify you once we know something".

That is sort of reassuring. As much as I'd like to pre-order it online, I'd rather do it in-store (same as what I did for the Xoom) so I can be there as soon as they open

Light bleeding issues seem to be rather common in Transformers, and if I get a faulty unit like this, will it be possible to get it replaced after opening the package? Thanks!

Warranty should be worldwide. At least europe is fully covered no matter where it was bought (in eu)

I find this somewhat incredibly annoying. Why is Amazon taking new orders for the tablet when they have not serviced my order for the tablet + keyboard. Afaik the keyboard is completely separate to the tablet and arrives in its own box. They should be sending me my tablet now before taking new orders. It is an order with 2 items and both should be sent when they are available instead of waiting until both are available.
I cancelled my order with keyboard and order one without keyboard. I wonder if they really have one - there was "4 left in stock" written under the description.
you're right, it shows 'in stock' at the moment. However my keyboard combo is still expected to be dispatched on 31 may (ordered mine on 15 april)
I ordered the tablet+ keyboard est dispatch 1st june. Maby there is a shortage of keyboards, might just pick up the tablet and wait for the keyboard to be released tho is it guaranteed that it will be sold seperately.

It will be. Some shops already advertise it. It will probably not be cheap though.
Surely just £50 I.e. the differene of buying the tab on its own and the tab+keyboard.

I bought a 10 " inch screen 8 gigabyte version of the A500 Iconia from Best Buy. Seems to be ether a new model or one only made for Best Buy. I haven't gotten it in yet through the mail. I wonder if it will have the same specs as the 16GB model(aside from the memory of course)....and the same quality.
They sell the 8gb version at Costco too. Once the sold out of the 32gb they pulled that in.

As of last week, the 8Gb was 350 at Costco here in the Seattle area. Came with a sort of weak free case.
Congrats on the purchase. I picked one up from Best Buy as well. Now if they'd get around to shipping it, I'd be even happier.
The two things that have been noticed on this one is the lack of mention of GPS anywhere (though many of us are hopeful that it has GPS) and that power indicates 110 whereas all other models indicate 110/220.
Haven't seen anything else yet so now we're all waiting for our units to arrive to begin the fun.

GPS is not mentioned in any of the versions of A500 tabs.
pretty sure they all have GPS. plenty of threads exist with a500 users having wifi only models and using GPS. just make sure to apply all the GPS tweaks
a stock a500 isnt quite as hot as a tweaked out a500. earl reviews of the stock item at the original retail price were just OKAY at best. but if you tweak the little it turns into quite the little tablet.

say what? i have a wifi only version(a500) and it has gps. no tweaks needed. i doubt these 8gb versions have gps. official acer site and best buy have no mention of gps at all.
can anyone that actually has one in hand check? what a total bummer if it didnt.
this is the same a500 model as any of the other a500 models, with only 8gb. every a500 has built-in gps, just like every samsung galaxy tab 10.1 has gps. you dont need to have the 3G (a501) model to have gps.
the acer website doesnt list ANY of the 8/16/32 or 501 models as having GPS at all, so you can't go by that.
The 8gb one I bought at Costco has gps. I'm going to return it though because I decided to get a 32gb one from Tigerdirect for $400. 8gb just wasn't getting it done with Honeycomb's inability to move apps and data to the sdcard like Gingerbread. I was using almost all of the internal memory and I only had 8 of my games installed. Those Gameloft games need a lot of memory.

I got the 32GB one from costco for a similar price, $350 + tax. But if you can get bestbuy's price at $220, it might worth it.

The $229 8gb Acer A500 at Best Buy was a Cyber Monday deal that actually sold out by early Sunday morning. I think I saw "normal" pricing referred to as $380. I was lucky enough to snag one of the Cyber Monday tablets, but even though they say 0-1 day to ship, it is still "in process" and has not shipped yet.

I'm going to assume that means business days. It should be ready to ship today but who knows what the details are. Best Buy may not have them and are awaiting shipment from Acer which would explain why they weren't available immediately for store pickup (which was set at 5-7 days).

I ordered Noon-ish on Sunday, and it said "processing, 0-1 days..blah blah" until about noon EST today (tuesday).
Yes, it gave me a tracking number, and the original order (with 2-day shipping) said EXPECTED DELIVERY: Nov 30-Dec 1. UPS shows it as on time, Nov 30 by the end of the day.
EDIT--it does say it shipped on the 28th, even though I didn't get an email or tracking number until mid-day the 29th.

Lucky basterd! I ordered mine on Sunday at around 2:30am. Yeah that early, I don't know why I was still up that late lol. Mine still says order is being fulfilled or something like that so I the order hasn't been processed but it does let me cancel it anymore. The estimated dates I have are earliest Dec. 1 and latest Dec. 8
Yeah the folks over at slickdeals who bought the tab are all arguing on if it has GPS or not and if it has a flash mem or a micro hard drive. HAHA! I can understand the GPS debate, but the other one is just plain stupid.

I bought my Nexus 7 32gb from a brick & mortar store one week ago. The first two of the SSN is C9.

They all function the same. From my understanding.
The latest versions are in this order ..
the c90 was out then the cao.
But with that said the cao was out before the 3g version of the tablet and there are some c90 3g (go figure )
I do know that from some of the c80 to all of the c90 and cao have a different power management chip.. It was just a
manufacture change NO CHANGED FUNCTION. The newest boot-loader was changed for this reason only as well.
This is documented on a google + tech group. and there is a post on here someplace talking about the new pm chip
and boot-loader change.
With the above said i do not believe there is anything different in the device function as the first c60 .People have reported
that there is faster and different memory/ storage chips in the 32 gb version but i have not Confirmed this anywhere.
So what version you get as long as you Do not have the screen lift issue (its random all models . less on newer ones )
You will get the same device as everyone else.
If any of the above is incorrect Anyone is welcome to Chime in...
I have had a c60 8 gb... a c70 and c80 a16 gb version.. The one i have now is cao 32 gb.. They all ran about the same.
Long story as to why so many .

So I guess it is pretty new stock.
Just got a 32GB Nexus 7 from my locals Staples store. Wanted a 16GB, but they are all sold out at the Staples stores near me. The manager said, they can never keep the Nexus tablets in stock; did not know these are so popular. My serial number begins with cc0, so this looks to be a really new shipment.

Your box should have one line beginning CCSN:015 ( displayed as the serial number in Settings>About tablet>Status) and a 2nd line beginning CSN:C9O which is the Asus serial number. These numbers are also on bar code stickers inside the case with "CCSN" being replaced with "UUID"

Update for guys looking to buy from Taiwan. Don't buy from 23port. He doesn't have the phones available, he takes your money and then waits for Asus to get them in stock. This is the email response I got from him about my purchase
"We have received your payment on Mar. 28, and we will check the available time with Taiwan ASUS and update you soon, and we will provide tracking number after shipment. Please kindly note. Have a nice day."
I contacted eBay after that and they are taking action against his listing since in their words "he is luring people in to buying an item he doesn't have, without stating it's a preorder and that he doesn't actually have the item".
Just wanted to give a heads up since I'm now at the mercy of either getting a refund from the seller or waiting until the 7th for buyer protection to kick in.
You might want to ask sellers if they actually have the item in stock, it's not guaranteed that they will answer truthfully, but these guys are taking people's money and sitting on it until Asus Taiwan has stock available. Who knows how long that could be in all honesty.

I didn't think you were but some people might. I was hoping I'd have it within two days like every one else but that's not the case I guess. I can't wait weeks to get a phone unfortunately. I'm thinking that some of the other sellers don't have supply either, that's why they're putting the delivery date so far out. They're hoping people will buy expecting delivery in mid April and that gives them enough time to wait for more stock from Asus.

There are some sellers with the delivery date as Apr. 10th-Apr. 21st. Which gives plenty of time for them to wait on new stock while you're waiting for the end of April to get it.

That really sucks. I will tell u this: phone is solid. Only disappointment is the battery cover. Feels like cheap plastic simulating a metal brush finish. Looks like it may break when prying apart to insert sim card and SD. Really glad I got a case for it.

Yeah I've been super stoked to get it since I saw it, sold my OPO and a Note 3, bought my son a Moto G 2014 and myself the ZF2, but now I have to use my son's phone since the ZF2 isn't coming.

I contacted eBay after that and they are taking action against his listing since in their words "he is luring people in to buying an item he doesn't have, without stating it's a preorder and that he doesn't actually have the item".
Just wanted to give a heads up since I'm now at the mercy of either getting a refund from the seller or waiting until the 7th for buyer protection to kick in.
You might want to ask sellers if they actually have the item in stock, it's not guaranteed that they will answer truthfully, but these guys are taking people's money and sitting on it until Asus Taiwan has stock available. Who knows how long that could be in all honesty.

I have another warning: Don't buy from OE USA (advertising on Amazon) either. They're selling an entry level ZE500CL as ZE551ML as they specified the phone. Luckily Amazon has good customer protection but you may face a lot of troubles buying totally false phone.

I guess I learned my lesson well. I'm returning cheap entry level phone which was sold on Amazon as a ZE551ML. At least partially you can blame all mess on Asus, which would never provided clear specs of variety of models around.
Now I'm quite positive that currently you can't buy any other ZE551ML than Taiwanese. And right now Asus has in production European (ww) model which will be on the market in France and Italy at the end of this month (on the web as well). And maybe Chinese model will be selling at the same time too.
Later, probably at the end of May after announcement in the event in New York the US model is coming to the market. And that's pretty all.

Black and white versions of (ZE551ML )are back in stock on ASUS French website. Already have a red one ordered from Darty but wont be sent out until the 10th
On Asus Fr website is nothing on stocs as delivery date is set to 06.05. latest and any shopping is marked as preorder.
Does anyone know of any reliable site where 4G/32GB or 4G/64GB is available in stock? Asus France will ship by 06th May.

Darty has a preorder with shipping date set at 10-4, not sure how reliable they are as i never bough off them before. Reorderd the red one last night

In the process of canceling the darty order although I have to ring them to cancel it. Hope they have some English speaking reps as my French begins and end with Bonjour. No not from UK , hence using www.shopandship.com to ship to my country.
