[Q] Nexus 7 Model Number's - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, I am looking to get a Nexus in the next few weeks and I am curious what the latest build model and build date is?
I've seen
C6O
C7O
C8O
CAO
I think it would be nice to see a sticky of the different builds

I bought my Nexus 7 32gb from a brick & mortar store one week ago. The first two of the SSN is C9.
Sent from my Nexus 7

They all function the same. From my understanding.
The latest versions are in this order ..
the c90 was out then the cao.
But with that said the cao was out before the 3g version of the tablet and there are some c90 3g (go figure )
I do know that from some of the c80 to all of the c90 and cao have a different power management chip.. It was just a
manufacture change NO CHANGED FUNCTION. The newest boot-loader was changed for this reason only as well.
This is documented on a google + tech group. and there is a post on here someplace talking about the new pm chip
and boot-loader change.
With the above said i do not believe there is anything different in the device function as the first c60 .People have reported
that there is faster and different memory/ storage chips in the 32 gb version but i have not Confirmed this anywhere.
So what version you get as long as you Do not have the screen lift issue (its random all models . less on newer ones )
You will get the same device as everyone else.
If any of the above is incorrect Anyone is welcome to Chime in...
I have had a c60 8 gb... a c70 and c80 a16 gb version.. The one i have now is cao 32 gb.. They all ran about the same.
Long story as to why so many .
Hope this helps you..

thank you, my biggest worry was getting one with the screen lift issue

It's C7O, not C70.....
likewise for other serial numbers..
Beamed from my Grouper.

I just bought a 32GB Wifi only Nexus7 at a local electronics store. (HEM Expert)
It has as SN beginning with CBO.
So I guess it is pretty new stock.

Just got a 32GB Nexus 7 from my locals Staples store. Wanted a 16GB, but they are all sold out at the Staples stores near me. The manager said, they can never keep the Nexus tablets in stock; did not know these are so popular. My serial number begins with cc0, so this looks to be a really new shipment.

That's "CCO" then (c-c-ooh)
Indeed very fresh batch

Thanks for the correction. It looks and works fine so far. Does feel rather cheap though.

I have CBO here

CBO here, 32GB, badly washed out screen with poor contrast, returning it tomorrow but they are out of stock, so gonna have to wait for more to come in

Box says C90 but my device says 015. Weird.

Your box should have one line beginning CCSN:015 ( displayed as the serial number in Settings>About tablet>Status) and a 2nd line beginning CSN:C9O which is the Asus serial number. These numbers are also on bar code stickers inside the case with "CCSN" being replaced with "UUID"

CBO here in Malaysia
3G 32GB
The silver frame is not proper attach to the body...

CBO philippines
4g 32G
working fine..

Right time to buy

I'm ready to buy a nexus 7 but I've seen a couple of rumors that a price change or something new may be around the corner. (32 gb model) Normally I wouldn't pay attention. But the few stores I did go to were either out or low on Units and said it would be a couple of weeks before a new shipment.
I'm just asking the community if you think it's a good time to buy or wait a few weeks for something better

Personally. I'd wait a month or so. There is rumor of 32GB Nexus 7 being released here, here and over here to name a few. All conjecture at this point, but the evidence is compelling.
Additionally, JBQ has indicated that there is a new hardware revision coming to Nexus 7 - which may or may not be related to a 32GB model.
you should wait fa it as it is almost certain that 32gb version is true
Wish it ships with 3g fa the same price as that of presen 16gb

Nexus 10 (32GB/16GB) - No Stock - Sold Out

Hi All,
Ive been searching the net for any info on Nexus 10 stock shortage, on either 32GB or 16GB versions. There is absolute no one asking why that is the case or news from Google about why there is no stock. I find it bizarre that it seems so quiet
There does seem to be posts for November but nothing after the sell out of the 16GB version about 10 days ago.
Does anyone know when they are expecting stock or some links which may suggest on availability? I'm really hoping to get a Nexus 10 for Xmas and I'm getting doubtful Ill get one before :crying:
Thanks

It seems that Currys PC World will be stocking the nexus 10 although I havent't seen any evidence of it yet. I found a thread on it earlier:

Cheers Nathanhd123, great bit of scoop. I'm feeling less enthusiastic about being able to get a nexus 10 before Xmas
I was at PCworld yesterday and they didnt have any stock!
Try either Walmart or staples, if their not at the store check online you should be able to order one.
Staples sold out as of today but they are in stock at Walmart online. I was able to order and pick the 32gb Nexus at a local Walmart store in Milwaukee today 12-17-12.
It seems that Nexus 10 is back in stock in the UK.
I ordered a replacement on Dec 11, and yesterday I received an email conformation that is up for delivery.
I just bought a 32gb at my local Walmart for a guy in the Netherlands. They have one left in stock, if anyone wants it email me at [email protected] .
Still no love in the UK with stock on the nexus 10, god google your Sh1t!

Screen loose on all models?

Is the screen looseness issue on all the variations of the N7 or did they end up fixing it with the "new" (pricing) 16&32?
I bought a 8g in July and Google was gracious enough to RMA me another 8, which had the same problem. So I returned it for a full refund.
I want to buy a 16 with the $199, but.. (see question above)

My screens not loose in the slightest on my 32GB.

My 16gb from dec is a C70 I think and was better built than my dec 32gb CA0 (screen lift etc). However my replacement 32gb is CA0 and is fine but still doesn't feel quite as good as the older model 16gb (but I'm happy with it). So from my experience I would say the middle models are the sweet spot and the wifi only 16gb seems to be the best chance of getting one of those.
Either way all the issues are still around so you might get it again. :/ Can only assume the adjustments they have been making is reducing the chance.

Thanks for the input. I think I'll try my luck at a 16 wifi. I'm glad they essentially let me swap from my 8!

Well I got my old Nexus 7 2012 for $199 USD from staples, it was on sale their after the new Nexus 7 released. I've decided to keep the old Nexus 7, but if you're deciding to get which, I would suggest you get the new nexus either 16 GB or 32 GB. It is worth the wait and its very fun to hold and its fast also. But if you grow impatient then buy the old one 32 GB, that tablet is actually more than you need.

So Do you think the problems which are occuring in new nexus will be fine after the updates of google. Those multiotuch & GPS issues are very frightening & making me if new nexus comes I can loose the low cost old nexus which is having no issues .
Only New nexus is promising few things as below :
1. Better resolution/display
2. Fast processor
In rest everything old nexus seems fine like new.
Yes the issues are fixed, at least I think they issued a patch to address that. If not, it is a big issue that will get addressed quickly. If you can afford the new one get that, the latest and greatest is always the best. With that said I have a 2012 version and have zero complaints.

Not really fixed, not for the majority, and those were not the biggest issues.
It's been over a month. "Quickly" has come and gone. They're about working on everyone's last nerve ATP. It's still a big issue.

My bad. I haven't kept up on the new model as it doesn't pertain to me but I thought I read somewhere engadget, cnet, etc it was fixed.

Methinks they're just quoting Google press releases like good little commercial entities.... :banghead::banghead::banghead:
Those 159 separate posters on the above site (myself and some friends included) are living this.... For real... :banghead:
I hope waiting will resolve all the issues .
I heard some high end games developed for new nexus are also not able to sync with its advanced hardware. If Google will not resolve it will be loosing its name in Quality Tablets.

Deal alert. Brand new 32GB Nexus 7 £149.99 at O2

I know basically everyone who wants a 2013 Nexus 7 probably has one by now, but just thought this was worth letting everyone know about. O2 sell the Wi-Fi version of the tablet next to the LTE model. They don't specify a capacity on the website, so I assumed I'd be getting a 16GB model. I was very pleasantly surprised to find that they delivered a 32GB Nexus to me! Worth knowing about if you're thinking of picking one up.
Wow thats a no brainer
The back of my Nexus 7 has a fairly long crack and its sad that i can't find anywhere to replace it
I ordered an unopened new 16GB for £120 from ebay the other day, it's too late for me to return it as it wont be here for another 10 days or so (coming from America) ah well haha
