Anybody try this ????? :
Try using the Windows Phone Support Tool. The Windows Phone Support Tool is an application that fixes problems that prevent your Windows Phone 7 from updating successfully. The tool only works for the two error codes listed in the Symptoms section.
Unplug the USB cable from the phone.
Download the Windows Phone Support Tool from the Microsoft Download Center. If you have a 32-bit system, download the WPSupportTool-x86.msi (http://download.microsoft.com/downl...-4E4A-8179-9A3C5483E366/WPSupportTool-x86.msi) package. If you have a 64-bit system, download the WPSupportTool-amd64.msi (http://download.microsoft.com/downl...E4A-8179-9A3C5483E366/WPSupportTool-amd64.msi) package.
Note If you're not sure whether you have a 32-bit or 64-bit system, read the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

This is the wrong place Sir
i tried this just yesterday, and it didn't work. Instead of pressing the camera button i used zune update to restart the phone and get to the "connect to PC" screen. the tool just wouldn't see it.
i think the main problem is with the drivers. if you check the device manager you will see the phone is identified as Leo, under portable devices, while at the "connect to PC" Screen.
No it doesn't work when you press recover you get the follow
The phone is not in the 'Connect to PC' state. Please, make sure that you follow the instructions and your phone shows the 'Connect To PC' image.

I just tried this. It runs without problems and says it has updated the phone but the phone still says 7004....
It doesn't work, though the updater doesn't deliver an error message. I'm wondering if there is a possibility to modify this tool in order to handle the updating process...!?!
i try the both with all the method possible but no luck.

Updated Successfully with Chevron but still showing 7008 no copy paste but system is running much smoother....

I suspect it doesn't run any better than the update from 7004 .
Seems like Microsoft advise to wp7 users, dont use the chev updater , because cant use the future update.

I tried the chevron updater method, and it updated me succesfully, but when my phone rebooted, it showed me a picture that told me to connect it to the PC. I did, and zune said there was an error with the device, in summary, it was bricked. Of course, MAGLDR prevents brick, because i could just flash wp7 again, but just don't try this.
And i think it killed my SDCARD D:
Nothing reads it/finds it. this is so weird. :'(
You are too fast men ,haha, you most be little slowly with your phone. The picture you have seen its normal and you only have to do is do not unplug your phone of the computer , and if you do it nothing hapend , is no necesarry to reflash your phone , just remove the battery and restart your phone. Always its inutile to try it becvause at the moment no funcion the update in HD2.Regards !!

I finally received the nodo update to samsung focus on the att network. I did receive the time-out error the first time I tried. Just some information for everyone. In your settings the delete history for maps, search, and internet explorer. Also, use the recovery tool provided by microsoft. It provides instructions regarding using the update tool. IE. power off your device, when powering on hold camera button and power button until update screen appears and then run windows phone recovery. To reassure everyone, the update tool does not wipe out apps or any of your information on the device, it just puts the phone in an updating state and updates the updating software to update haha . Also, make sure that your Zune software is updated. Happy updating. I was thinking you could also use this thread to post any other tips that could help in the updating process or anything else that seems relevant.
update- another overlooked issue is you need to wait 2-5 minutes when your phone is in pc download mode for your pc to reconize your phone. I am referring to when using the windows phone recovery tool or when your pc is actually updating your phone. I know it seems like your pc is not recognizing the phone because it doesn't happen instantly but it will.
Heya!
I bought a demo LG Quantum for a song today and I've been trying to remove the Demo software by following these instructions:
Through work aquired a Mozart with Telstra Demo(Store) Rom. Very furstrating as it wouldnt hold settings and kept playing that damn video.....
Downloaded this rom (following the links from here and trying a few download mirrors until I found one that worked)
Turned off Phone
Held Volume Down Key while Pressing Power Button (This turns the phone on and launched Bootloader)
Connected to PC Waited about 5 minutes while Windows auto detected the drivers and installed what it needed
Right Mouse clicked on the downloaded Rom and selected "Run as Administrator"
Followed the prompts.
****NOTE**** When it got to 10% the phone rebooted - LET IT!!!!! DO NOT TOUCH IT DO NOT DISCONNECT IT - Just wait -The computer will redetect and about 10 Min later VIOLA - All sorted nice and clean WP7 HTC Mozart (with a with Telstra One Hub - which aint that bad) - Whacked the 3 Sim card in - Downloaded Connection Setup Wizard from market place and a few minutes later was sending and receiving MMS etc

However, I don't know if this applies to the LG Quantum since I can't seem to access the Bootloader screen and the ROM I can't find an executable ROM file like the one he refers to.
Has anyone resolved this problem on their Quantum?
Could you help me through it?
Thanks in advance,
-Aylmer
Nevermind! I was trying to flash it, but, in the LGDP2 Flashing app, I was plugging in the phone before pressing start!
Oups!
If you're still having problems, the other trick is to use the drivers from the LG Mobile Support Tool.
I got mine from eBay for $100...it is a Demo unit. This thread is very helpful and hope to remove the "Device Alive" software and enjoy my nifty windows phone!
As an avid Android and iOS user I look forward to having fun with WP7

How would that trick work?
Does anyone have the link for the stock rom? I can't seem to be able to download from http://depositfiles.com/en/files/tmh1fz1ed. It always says invalid param. Could anyone post it here or upload it to mediafire or something? Thnx
ok managed to download the LG c900 ROM but installing the LGDP2 gives me the Installshield error , Catastrophic Error. And my LG USB Modem doesn't wanna install
Could you give more detail about the problem?
Also, which version of Windows are you using?
Hi guys
Just wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction before I send my Samsung Omina 7 in for repair. First a brief history
Updated previously from NoDo to the first mango beta without issue, then again to the refresh beta without a problem. Decided today that I would for RTM.
During update process updatewp kept timing out - I've since read resetting the device before attempting or deleting some of the zip files in the RTM package fixes this.
Instead of searching forums I unplugged the device and reset it when it wouldn't reboot. This left me with a completely unstable OS. It took ages to boot up and most apps wouldn't load.
I tried to restore my NoDo backup from the Zune beta but it didn't work. I uninstalled Zune Beta and drivers and attempted the restore using the current Zune version and again the restore would not work.
Figured I would just reflash the rom instead so I followed the guide below.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=973420&highlight=how+to+rom
This also failed - I can get into download mode, and WP7 Downloader looks like it's proceeding correctly but it is my understanding that after the first reboot it should go into the "connect to computer" style mode with the picture of the phone and a computer connected with USB. My phone does not do this - instead it boots to the Samsung Omina screen and just sits there. It seems to quickly reboot every 10 mins or so.
I've attempted the flash a second time and got the same result. Any ideas?
just goto download mode and flash it with another firmware..
If you can't get into download mode, just go to your closest DIY shop, grab 3 100k resistors and make yourself a JIG.
Full instructions here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1092824&highlight=JIG
You should be able to reboot in download mode, and then restore to whatever ROM you want
Just tried that - used a different one but got the same result.
When WP7 Downloader gets to "Plz wait while rebuilding" the phone has rebooted to the samsung omnia 7 screen and not the computer connection screen.
Weird.
If you got to download mode after using the JIG, flash should be flawless.
I'm clueless here, apart from trying again with a different firmware/JIG.
Just and FYI. I couldn't fix it myself so I send it in for repair. They needed to replace the motherboard.
Hello Everybody,
I’m new on this forum and sorry for my bad English.
My LG-H870DSU (LG 6+) with OREO, during the installation process of the last sw upgrade, (V20L, downloaded by OTA last 23rd of December) showed an error and rebooted, making many attempt s to start (at least 5) and at the end it showed the “Secure start up” screen.
I performed the factory hard reset and I imagine it went well since the language was reset from Italian to English.
Now, if I power on my phone, it tries to boot several times (the process takes around 5 minutes) and at the end it shows always the “Secure start up” screen.
LG Mobile support and LG Bridge on my PC recognize the phone but they're not able to modify/download anything.
Could you please give me support and suggest me a way to resume my phone?
Many thanks in advance for your support

Some update: I was able to put the phone in firmware update, the pc sees the mobile through USB (COM 9 port), LGUP can't load the model from a specific path (probably I don't have the H870DSU dll, uppercut 1.0.0.0 doesn't run in WIN 7 (antiviruses and others related program closed).
Any suggest?
Thank you again
