Official nodo push to At&t branded Focus - Focus General

I finally received the nodo update to samsung focus on the att network. I did receive the time-out error the first time I tried. Just some information for everyone. In your settings the delete history for maps, search, and internet explorer. Also, use the recovery tool provided by microsoft. It provides instructions regarding using the update tool. IE. power off your device, when powering on hold camera button and power button until update screen appears and then run windows phone recovery. To reassure everyone, the update tool does not wipe out apps or any of your information on the device, it just puts the phone in an updating state and updates the updating software to update haha . Also, make sure that your Zune software is updated. Happy updating. I was thinking you could also use this thread to post any other tips that could help in the updating process or anything else that seems relevant.
update- another overlooked issue is you need to wait 2-5 minutes when your phone is in pc download mode for your pc to reconize your phone. I am referring to when using the windows phone recovery tool or when your pc is actually updating your phone. I know it seems like your pc is not recognizing the phone because it doesn't happen instantly but it will.

How To Flash a Demo LG Quantum?

Heya!
I bought a demo LG Quantum for a song today and I've been trying to remove the Demo software by following these instructions:
Through work aquired a Mozart with Telstra Demo(Store) Rom. Very furstrating as it wouldnt hold settings and kept playing that damn video.....
Downloaded this rom (following the links from here and trying a few download mirrors until I found one that worked)
Turned off Phone
Held Volume Down Key while Pressing Power Button (This turns the phone on and launched Bootloader)
Connected to PC Waited about 5 minutes while Windows auto detected the drivers and installed what it needed
Right Mouse clicked on the downloaded Rom and selected "Run as Administrator"
Followed the prompts.
****NOTE**** When it got to 10% the phone rebooted - LET IT!!!!! DO NOT TOUCH IT DO NOT DISCONNECT IT - Just wait -The computer will redetect and about 10 Min later VIOLA - All sorted nice and clean WP7 HTC Mozart (with a with Telstra One Hub - which aint that bad) - Whacked the 3 Sim card in - Downloaded Connection Setup Wizard from market place and a few minutes later was sending and receiving MMS etc
Click to collapse
However, I don't know if this applies to the LG Quantum since I can't seem to access the Bootloader screen and the ROM I can't find an executable ROM file like the one he refers to.
Has anyone resolved this problem on their Quantum?
Could you help me through it?
Thanks in advance,
-Aylmer
Nevermind! I was trying to flash it, but, in the LGDP2 Flashing app, I was plugging in the phone before pressing start!
Oups!
If you're still having problems, the other trick is to use the drivers from the LG Mobile Support Tool.
I got mine from eBay for $100...it is a Demo unit. This thread is very helpful and hope to remove the "Device Alive" software and enjoy my nifty windows phone!
As an avid Android and iOS user I look forward to having fun with WP7

How would that trick work?
Does anyone have the link for the stock rom? I can't seem to be able to download from http://depositfiles.com/en/files/tmh1fz1ed. It always says invalid param. Could anyone post it here or upload it to mediafire or something? Thnx
ok managed to download the LG c900 ROM but installing the LGDP2 gives me the Installshield error , Catastrophic Error. And my LG USB Modem doesn't wanna install
Could you give more detail about the problem?
Also, which version of Windows are you using?

Omnia 7 Download Mode...

Just thought i would share my findings. I have been trying to get my T-Mobile UK Omnia 7 into download mode for ages!
The Vol UP, Camera Button, Power button trick did not work.
However i discovered that if you
- Hold the Vol UP button and the Camera Button
- THEN connect the device to your PC via USB
it will power it up and enter the device into Download Mode.
Well i hope that helps some others like it helped me
Regards,
Alan
I still can not update my phone to version 7.0.7392.0
I tried and cant go into download mode
I have to hold vol-up+camera for how long?
Basically what i did was hold the phone in one hand pressing the vol up and camera button. Then simply plugged in my Omnia 7 via USB. It went into download mode all by its self.
I had been trying for months, even just ordered a jig thing off ebay lol
Anyway, i managed to flash the phone down to 7004, then upgrade to 7392. Also make sure you have installed the new drivers off the samsung site (v1.3).
Long story short, i am now happily running Mango, and WOW it's a massive improvement! What ever you do dont Waslh your phone, it causes more issues than good as i found out lol.
That's great news influenceuk. I am also a new T-Mobile Omnia 7 user (great deal @ £15pm), and I had to enter 'download Mode' the hard-way, a little bit of patience and a 300K Ohm resistor from Maplin did the trick. So the method you propose bypasses the USB-Jig antics, that would be awesome.
I'm tempted to flash the blocked bootloader back to confirm your findings.
Yeah chemeng, it worked perfectly for me last night after trying for months!!
I only had to do it cause i walshed my phone, and it was causing issues updating to the mango beta. i will see if i can find the page i found the instructions on
Just looked thought my history, but cant find the exact solution i mention. I did find the XDA Dev guide, which i think i may have mis read... then found my work around.
Some one else should try and see if it works too, hopefully it does.
Sorry but I cant get my phone into dowhload mode with your solution
It seems as if Alan's bootloader was semi-blocked
hey folks thıs worked for me

Well, I used to encounter this problem that cannot access to the download mode and getting error code (8XXXXXXXX) when trying to update the phone via Zune Software. But after trying update via zune few times, I successfully updated my OMNIA 7 to 7392 and got download mode works afterwards.
Same here. Tried to get into Download Mode for hours. I was about to build myself a jig.fortunatley i Tried updating my phone via zune... et voila...zune updated my bootloader and the Rom.
Now im able to get into Download Mode without any problems! I got a Samsung omnia 7 from t-mobile Germany.
Hope this helps...
Greetings
Bootloader version
Is there anyone who has successfully updated their Omnia 7 from NoDo to 7392 (latest security update) or Mango, with a bootloader version of 4.10.1.9, without using a USB jig?
Thanks,
Karthik
I have tried almost everything, but nothing works, I also have Omnia 7 with 7390 and bootloade 4.10.1.9, I think with this version of bootloader there isn't any other option than usb jig. I even called samsung helpline (they were much less informed than me, so they just told me to bring the phone to service center), does anyone have experience with service center, or is it better to make USB jig and do it at home?
I have three Omina 7 ,they are all 16G type.
First one ,by pressing vol up ,camera and power button can reach the download mode.
Unfortunately, the other two must use a jig to get the download mode.

[Q] Bricked phone after failed RTM Mango Update

Hi guys
Just wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction before I send my Samsung Omina 7 in for repair. First a brief history
Updated previously from NoDo to the first mango beta without issue, then again to the refresh beta without a problem. Decided today that I would for RTM.
During update process updatewp kept timing out - I've since read resetting the device before attempting or deleting some of the zip files in the RTM package fixes this.
Instead of searching forums I unplugged the device and reset it when it wouldn't reboot. This left me with a completely unstable OS. It took ages to boot up and most apps wouldn't load.
I tried to restore my NoDo backup from the Zune beta but it didn't work. I uninstalled Zune Beta and drivers and attempted the restore using the current Zune version and again the restore would not work.
Figured I would just reflash the rom instead so I followed the guide below.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=973420&highlight=how+to+rom
This also failed - I can get into download mode, and WP7 Downloader looks like it's proceeding correctly but it is my understanding that after the first reboot it should go into the "connect to computer" style mode with the picture of the phone and a computer connected with USB. My phone does not do this - instead it boots to the Samsung Omina screen and just sits there. It seems to quickly reboot every 10 mins or so.
I've attempted the flash a second time and got the same result. Any ideas?
just goto download mode and flash it with another firmware..
If you can't get into download mode, just go to your closest DIY shop, grab 3 100k resistors and make yourself a JIG.
Full instructions here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1092824&highlight=JIG
You should be able to reboot in download mode, and then restore to whatever ROM you want
Just tried that - used a different one but got the same result.
When WP7 Downloader gets to "Plz wait while rebuilding" the phone has rebooted to the samsung omnia 7 screen and not the computer connection screen.
Weird.
If you got to download mode after using the JIG, flash should be flawless.
I'm clueless here, apart from trying again with a different firmware/JIG.
Just and FYI. I couldn't fix it myself so I send it in for repair. They needed to replace the motherboard.

[Q] DVP - 801812DC Error during update

Hello,
Oct, 4th, my zune pop up the Mango Update notification for DVP.
Anyway, I cannot complete the update 7.0.7403.0.
During the backup step (step 7 of 10) when the progress is 87%, it regress to restarting the phone (step 1 of 2)
I tried everything I could including disconnect and remove battery, delete many contents, forget the phone, reinstall zune, hard reset.
Still, the problem is the same "zune cannot create a backup for my phone"
I also see that the percents when the update "fail" are different, depend on how many contents I keep.
After I reset the phone and do everything I could, the percent is at 87%.
Zune tell me that it is....
Error Code 801812DC
(see attachments)
I cannot find any solution from anywhere, nor MS troubleshoot. Here I found some question about LG Quantum during NoDo, and the solution is replacement.
I'm in Thailand, where DVP is rarely found. There is authorised reseller no service centre for this phone model. Dell Thailand does not import this model and they do not provide support for Dell mobile.
Every past updates I did via Zune software, the phone rom never been manually modified. Every apps in my phone also from Zune Marketplace. And my phone is not fake. (someone has already ask me before)
I'm completely desperate now. My mobile still function, but I really want Mango.
What should I do?
Here is the information
Phone manufacturer: Dell
Phone model: Dell Venue Pro (16 GB)
Mobile Operator: Truemove (a Thai operator), the phone is Generic-US
Phone operating system version: 7.0.7392.0
Zune software version: 4.8.2345.0
Computer operating system version: Windows 7 (32-bit)
PS: I have also posted in MS Answer, but no one answer
My as doing the same thing. This worked for me:# Unplug the USB cable from the phone.
# Press and hold the Power button for 5 seconds until the message Goodbye! appears.
# Press button again to turn the phone back on. As soon as the phone turns on and vibrates, press and hold the Camera button until the "Connect to PC" screen appears. It may take a few moments for this to appear. Once the screen appears, you may release the Camera
# Reconnect your phone using the USB cable. Note* Make sure you start pressing camera button as soon as restart phone in step above. This procedure will update your phones driver and allow you to upate to mango.

Here's the site: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2484484
Not work
I have tried that.
It appeared another Error Code C101002E
It returned to normal when being disconnected, and 801812DC occurred again.
I also downloaded WP Support tool to resolve the C101002E, according to MS troubleshoot. It didn't work, the tool told me that it couldn't be recovered and I had to contact technical support.
I have asked Dell Thailand, as I expected, They do not provide service for mobiles and I have to find the solution myself.
If you have more suggestion, please...

Lumia 520 Unable to enter flashing mode

Hello!
I recently got my hands on a Nokia Lumia 520 for tinkering with. Its running on really old firmware, and I figured before I try anything weird, I'd mess around with it in its stock state. Thus, I tried updating the firmware.
The internal updater returned an error, stating that it could not contact the server for whatever reason. I figured this is most likely due to the Windows phone being discontinued, so I scoured the internet for firmware files. I eventually stumbled upon a YouTube guide that linked to a guide on Microsoft's Own guides page. It explained how to reinstall the firmware to a stock state. Desperate for progression. I gave it a shot.
The guide provided the "windows Device recovery tool", Which I would install on my windows 11 machine. I then proceeded to run the software and plug in the phone. HURRAY! It was able to tell me exactly what type of phone it was. Clicking the option to proceed, I was shown a screen explaining just how dated my firmware was. Suggesting It would fetch newer if not the latest firmware for me. I clicked on install and it started downloading.
I waited patiently for the software to download the firmware. After which it went to the installation screen. It then attempted to put the phone in flashing mode. Explaining that in this mode, the phone would restart, then have a blank screen. Instead what happened was that the system restarted normally, asking me to unlock the device. I wondered if maybe I had been impatient, so I waited for another while. The phone restarted again, still on the normal lock-screen. This happened another two times before the Recovery tool gave up and told me it had failed.
My question: Is there any reason why it would do this? Are there any methods to get it into flash mode?
I would hate to discard the potential of this device simply due to the inability to flash it. And I really hope it can be helped. Please let me know if there's anything else I should share about this. I'll happily take any help I can get!
Thanks in advance!
Edit, after a lot of trial and error, I managed to force it into flashing mode. Turns out the guides I followed missed a step. Pressing the Power and Camera buttons did the trick
