MIUI-4G

Anyone out there in devsville planning on porting MIUI ROM to the mt4g?
Just figured I'd strike this topic, if it hasn't been brought up yet then let's kick up some dust..

I sure hope so, it would definitely give us something new to use on our devices. I kinda like this rom from the Nexus. Now if only we can get the ball rolling on cyanogen 6 for the MT4G.

Somebody behind the scenes is working on it. Should have a test build by the end of the week/weekend I would assume.

Wow, now an MIUI ROM for the MT4G would simply be amazing. I'm looking forward to this more so than CM6.1.

Someone please port this over. I saw it running over top the latest cyanogen. And it was amazing.
Anyone know if the miui contact app can sync pics with Twitter accounts. Or does the contact app have favorites and stuff ?

I've looked around and tried a number of different files. I tried the bugfix one. Everytime I install and load the rom I'm getting a FC every 5 seconds. Does anyone know of a fix for this or something I'm doing wrong?

One day to play

My friend is giving me his hd2 tomorrow to flash android on, unfortunately I haven't done My research and have just one day......
So my question is what stable, feature filled desert should I let him taste? And who is the chef?
Please, post links and detail why _________ is the best ROM build?
If I get plenty of posts I will try to update regularly to show noobs what they want to hear.

like the post above said. read. there isn't a best rom out there. just pick one that fits your/your friend's needs. personally i use UD 3.0.1.

Thanks matt, personally I like cyanogenmod the best, but I have xperia x10.... the main point of me asking is because I don't have time to research... since I'm xperia I don't know how to do nandroid so I have to learn that tonight. What I would like to know is which one is extremely stable, or are they all?

No one is going to just hand you the answer. Seriously, it will take you all of 2 or 3 hours to research what you need to know.

There is no perfect build. You are talking about an OS that was never meant to run on the HD2 running on said phone. There is always going to be something wrong or unstable about a build. It's a matter of what you can live with. So there is no true answer to your question. You'll have to pick which one you think will have the least amount of problems and cross your fingers. You might just have to keep researching even after you get his phone flashed because I'm sure you'll have to do it again.
Or you could just teach him how to do it himself because he will have to keep up on which ever build to get the latest fixes.

There are several Builds, i prefer smal ones without pre installed software.
Typhoon or so. Its fast smooth and stable. Well my dad owns a Desire HD not rooted and there is a lot of rubbish on it.
So i think you have to read the threads wich personaly fits to your friend.

Calling all vibrant devs!!!! Everyone should read this!!!

Sense is within our reach!!! It has already been ported to Galaxy S i9000 and Samsung Captivate..Us Vibrant owners need ALL the help we can get!! Hell who doesn't want sense on their Vibrant?!?!
I Have been talking to the dev over on that board about porting to the Vibrant, here is what he said:

try taking the script from the hc port put in in the zip and flash it. Probably wont work, but try it

Nah. It'll install but not everything will work without making a Vibrant kernel.

No. I think they're using the new radio partitioning in .6, so it needs a new kernel.

Sense is really nice. I didn't even know it was ported to the captivate, sure do hope any of the Great devs can work on this.

i have a question. do you want a port of just all the apps to look like a sense. i mean you can make a 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 all look a sense with all the new sense apps and such but it depends on what you want. if you want the sense gingerbread than thats alot more work. there are alot of options, but you gotta realize that the new sense works off of hardware not found in most phones. sooooo you gotta take that into consideration. but i will look at the 19000 port and see what they changed. im finally gonna start making roms, kinda gettin tired of making my own and not posting them. give me a couple of days and you will have it. but i dont know if i want it 2.3 since theres no gps i dont want it. if you have suggestions i will think about it, and maybe port it. but i wont develop if theres no requests.

edit: alot of people dont realize but when a port is brought over its not all the system files that they transfer, all samsung vibrant files are used, so thats why i made a post like this. devs dont create everything themselves and make things work, they keep old files and add stuff to make it like another phone. hence the reason why all roms have a certain base. blah blah blah, sorry been drinking and tired of randomness of roms. pm me if you want this ported the way i do it, which means, framework-apps-some system files into one rom.

Wow, i would love to have Sense on my Vibrant. Hope that someone start working on this...

Would really really be nice, I have two vibrants... one MIUI Thanks Segnaro and I would put Sense on the other one which is currently stock...

ok so im gonna port this. its gonna be based off of a current gingerbread rom but will make it sense complete. only reason is because of kernel, and i wanna add the no rainbow effect. anyways give me til the end of the week and you will have it. so dont worry everybody, you will get your sense 3.0 rom. have a great rest of the week. goooodbbbyyyeee.
oh if there are any suggestions just pm me please. i will do what i can, but there will be a rom released by this weekend, if only the air force gave me more time off. i work to damn hard for this country.

Awesome, thanks man.. when it releases u will see at least a $20 donation from me. Who would have thought us Vibrant users would see, Sense, Miui, gingerbread, and a semi working honeycomb.

Android 4.0 (ICS): F5 is getting bashed, which dev is gunna be first?

Hey guys/gals, Like many of you are probably doin im checking XDA every 10 mins or pressing F5 eagerly awaiting to see who is gunna be first to release a Alpha/Beta/Test port of ICS for our HD2.
I know its still too early and I need to be patient, but I'm like a kid on Xmas eve here
So any guesses as to who is gunna be first to release a ICS port from source?

I think he means that the chance of getting ICS on our HD2s is as remote as getting honeycomb.
Personally, reading other threads, I must agree. Where are we going to get drivers from?

I think there will be a good chance that CyanogenMod makes it work for the Desire, which has the same hardware as a Hd2

Well, if someone works on an ICS port to Nexus One, it'll have some drivers for HD2. We use the same chipset...

I agree, considering that gingerbread still has issues here and there, ICS might take a while before a stable version see the light.
I'm not worried much about drivers, Honeycomb was released for tablets mostly, so creating new drivers for the HD2 would take a lot of time, but since ICS is made for smartphones (and tablets) it would be easier to make it work on the HD2. but I may be a bit optimistic.

ICS will happen but its going to take some time. Even when its working it will take more time to polish into a every day rom.
I dont think there will be anything worth flashing until 2012.

I don't know how many but there are still a hand few who still use this phone. I myself got this phone just a few months back from my friend @DowntownJeffBrown.
Now that we have 4.3, I just want to use it to its fullest! I'm a super noon when it comes to building ROMs but I can port. But some ROMs just need to be built eh? So my plain request to those awesome dev's , along with many who I hope will reply here.. Please build us some ROMs!!
Also, I'm not aware of much ROMs around this place, so I also request users to come up with the ROMs that can be built or ported.
