I had Mango developers beta since it first came out, then about a week ago I update to the 7720 version. My battery life was predicting 13 hours right after charging. My sons 7720 was showing 1 day 3 hours. This weekend I got an update notice, updated last night now my phone reads 20 hours. Does anyone know what was in this update? So far I haven't found anyone else having been notified. Is this only the original Focus' maybe?

From beta to 7720 you get 3 updates:
7720
cleanup
samsung update
Probably the one you refer to is Samsung Update, which improves the radio and camera. It's not for Focus only, afaik.
Btw, it seems that battery life is also affected by multitasking in official Mango, there are several reports of that in the forum.

yesterday I got the notification on my phone that an update was available. I have 7008 and I'm using an unlocked/unbranded phone on AT&T.
I just connected it to my computer and zune says there is no update available. I checked the settings and on the phone and it says there is no update, but it said there was when I checked yesterday.
I know I can get NoDo through other methods, but I'll wait. It's just weird that it doesn't find the update anymore.
Hi!
I've exactly the same problem!
I had the notification for an update on my omnia 7, i coonect it, and no update!
I wonder if the Nodo update is not delayed due to the 16 bit problem?
XIII
don't think that's why, I think that's just a problem with samoled displays. Even without NoDo gradients will have that issue.
But did you get the Nodo update?
No I didn't get a chance to update the day I saw the notification. Still on 7008 since last month, and I am experiencing the 16 bit problem.
Same here! I'm on an unbranded omnia 7, got the message that there is an update available around 3 days ago, but I was away and didn't have my laptop with me. I came back today, and zune says there are no updates available. W T F, samsung?
Welcome to the missing Nodo Team!
Any news? Mine still hasn't updated
Hey,
using the Omnia 7 in Germany, unbranded, T-Mobile.
Phone Version=7.07008 PRE-NODO
But no NoDo unfortunately
I already contacted Microsoft, Samsung an T-Mobile. Nobody seems to be able to solve my problem!
Mine still hasn't updated either
Same here, after reflashing, NoDO no more. No trick works anymore except ChevronWP7Updater.
NoDo
Just got an new Omnia 7 16gb today (unbranded / from Germany), was 7004 on it, updated the official way via Zune to 7008, the update was only found when I had the data connection set to on. But no NoDo update
Maybe they are trying to fix the 16bit banding before they are going to release it again or what do you guys think?
16Bit banding is not a problem with Samsung devices.
I am having the same issue Got a Omnia 7 the other day and the 7008 update went well - but have tried and tried to get the Nodo update - but no luck!

So you are saying that theres no 16Bit banding? or are you saying that the 16Bit banding is normal for the Omnia 7?
I just jumped from the HTC HD7 to the Omnia 7. On the HD7 I didnt have the banding when it was stock, I updated it to the NoDo update and after that it got 16Bit banding. My Omnia 7 seemed to have 16Bit banding from the start, but I thought it still was a bug?
I'm happy people start to wake up with this problem!
Maybe MS remove the update for an obscur reason...
I bought my Omnia 7 two weeks ago. Received - after connecting to Zune - the february update. But the Nodo update is not available yet. Not sure why and when it will comes. Makes me worry about it.... Simply because my HTC Trophy already received in first half of march!!
I haven't received any updates, over zune or otherwise. I hope this isn't an issue. Tried the Hungarian method a bit ago, but no luck so just waiting...
UK T-mobile branded Omnia 7 running on ATT Network
software version 7.0 (7004)

It's been there from the start with SAMOLED screens. Suposedly a technology limitation.
Article about it here showing the Omnia vs a LCD screen

Any updates on this? I bought an Omnia 7 for my wife, and it only updates to 7008. My own Omnia 7 I could update to Nodo via the "Hungarian method", but this was before April 10. It seems that Microsoft has plugged that hole now.
First off can it be done and Is it worth doing a manual 8107 update to a Venue Pro?
I have an unlocked Tmobile version from NewEgg. I think its at 7720. I been reading if your going to do this you need to go to 7740 then to 8107 and then install the English language pack.
I guess the bottom line is if its worth it to do this?
I have, and here are my detailed instructions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1497142
It was worthwhile for me, if only for the psychological reassurance that I wasn't being left behind in OS updates because of some idiots at T-Mobile (when, like you, I thought I had purchased an "unlocked" device, true in only one sense of the word). You'll probably need to use the same method to move up to the Tango OS update when it drops, so might as well get started now, eh?
Sent from my Venue Pro
How about Tango?
Someone in another forum thinks that a Tango update might be coming in a month so he not doing a manual update so that when they do send a update it will be automatic. He is not sure if you do the 8107 manually on a phone that would happen. Any thoughts?
No idea, but it certainly seems possible to do a factory reset back to old firmware if that's the case. From what I've read, you can smoothly step back into carrier/Zune updates as long as you've kept the languages consistent and updated through cab-sender.
Also, once Tango is available, I bet we can use cab-sender to get it rather than wait for T-mo or AT&T, right?

i did mines sometime ago it works well
Well, this is my story. Once I did de update and everything went just fine... Until the next day! The phone started to be "laggy" but for short periods of time (about ten seconds or something) and then it became back to normal! I dont know if that had happened to some else!
Aside from the fix for the so-called "disappearing keyboard" bug, are there any other improvements we should want in 8107?
Considering that the DVP was the last phone to get the Mango update, and considering that Dell seems to have given up on phones altogether, I wouldn't expect regular updates. Unless someone knows something different.
I have the AT&T branded version of the S10+ , meaning I bought it from AT&T. So if you are on another carrier or have the unlocked version, this post might be of no use to you!
I have had the phone a little over a month. Since I have had it, it has gone thru several firmware updates that are confusing the hell out of me. Here's my trek log:
Phone came with firmware SD3.
About a week later it updated itself to SD7.
Some weeks later SD9 came around (I think).
I noticed the security level patch was being updated to a semi current month and that is it aside somewhere I read something about night mode on the camera (which I have) and also found a new QR scanner icon.
After that, it updates to firmware SR7 or S something 7 (I forgot the middle letter).
I was on this firmware until yesterday when it updated to SG8. I was on SG8 about 5 minutes before it said another update was available. What gives!?!? So many updates! AHHHHHH!
I read that the Sxx update (I forgot the middle letter and end number this time) just fixes some bug about the lock screen. I wasn't even experiencing said bug! Why do I need the update!?!?
So this morning after connecting to my wifi last night my phone yet again updated itself, (even though I kept telling it to remind me later) this time to SGB.
I am freaking confused Mr. Bigglesworth!
Can someone help and enlighten me here? I come from the S3 and S4 days of the galaxy line, back then only serious updates (like the patch for stage fright) and OS updates rolled out. These new seemingly random and nonessential updates are very new to me.
I'm not on AT&T and people with Samsung phones almost invariably complain about not receiving updates so your complaint is novel.
SGB is the latest Samsung build--unlocked S10+ phones got it this week (after several months with no updates) and Verizon got that update last week.
Your many intermediate updates might be coming from AT&T and be updating or fixing the carrier specific stuff they added to your phone.

so the interesting part of the firmware's are the last 6 letters on my phone those are U3ASG8.
the u3a part is the version of the bootloader you are on (this is not downgradable), so I am on the 3rd version of the bootloader.
the last 6 letters in my case SG8
-S is for the year, so in 2020 it will become T
-G is for the month (A for January, B for February and so on)
-8is the build number (they test internally find any problems then increase the version...)
if you want to find what the updates improved check
http://doc.samsungmobile.com/SM-G975F/LUX/doc.html
just change SM-G975F to your model and change LUX to your region. This is everything they say in the changelog for the update on the phone too. If it repeats the same stuff as last month that most of the time means that it was just a security update.

You know I did read somewhere that the firmware letters and numbers meant the bootloader, month, year, and build number. I didn't know I could check a site to see what the updates did/do, thanks for the post but I tried changing the lux to US and 975F to 975U but it came back with a 404 error.
Anyone seen this update yet?
https://www.gizchina.com/2020/03/13/motorola-moto-z4-gets-android-10-update-its-last-major-update/
Unfortunately, not - even although I have retail version.
I hope somebody who is getting it will backup the downloaded OTA image and will share it here.
I haven't gotten it either & I'm on Retail Z4 USA
Retail Z4 here, haven't seen the update yet
i have unlocked phone from best buy, i do not have update yet. wanting to play around with phone, made some roms for my old phones, bought this phone with intent on doing the same, hoping after this rolls out that all our dev fun can begin i bet there will be some twrp work after 10 rolls out
I suppose it will last approx. 2 weeks till definite roll-out. Why? I was the first one who got the December uprade patch (which completely messed up all my system). Nobody else said he had it - only me. Everybody was waiting, till finally, approx. 2 weeks later, everybody got it.
I think, this time, it's the same. Moto selects a few devices for pre-testing an upgrade before fully rolling it out. Obviously, by coincidence, because this time, I'm not among the lucky ones.
These are only some ideas from my part as I can not imagine that this time, it's fake news again, because this time there already exists a concrete software version number.
My phone is from Best Buy Unlocked as well. Still stuck at PPFS29-105-75-4.
No yet!
Finaly! I got the update
Yeeeaaahhh, it's there!!!

Just got prompted to install Android 10 but I don't have Wi-Fi so I will have to wait till Starbucks reopens.
here is mine
Installed...
I have reestarted the phone like 4 times, and takes to much time! The reestart is very slow, please try to comment the improves and issues of this updare
I really like it. Full dark theme, accent colour settings, status bar icons, more and better navigation modes, ... Great! And I have the impression that it's much more smooth than Pie.
Try to reestart and battery my friend!
I don't care about restart time because I don't reboot my device quite often. But battery life is one of the most important things ever. Will keep an eye on that - have to observe that for some days.
downloading now hope that means some twrp soon
I got the update, but it won't install with my magisk setup- does anyone have the full download archive? Wish Moto had a download site for firmware
Usually I don't like to update because after updating I don't know if I will regret it or not. I think android 12 will be released in January (and I will not install it but I will wait at least 4 or 5 months). Now I have a doubt. I have never downloaded update / patch I received a notification of a bypass on December 1, 2021 (I think it is cumulative of all updates because it is over 1 gb) and I don't know whether to update since I think the next notification will be android 12 so they should all be updated "tested at 100% "or you keep keeping everything blocked (I am also interested in the battery life which I now know to last quite a lot but I don't know how long it will last)
any tips?
Thank's
Helen
