Hey everyone! I'm new to the Acer forum but hang in other xda forums (evo 3d, evo 4g, ssg tab, and nook color)....... now that I have this beautiful tab you guys will be seeing a lot more of me.
My question is, since I'm fairly new to honey comb..... how do I get into recovery? I rooted using iconia root, flashed cwm using Acer recovery (both one clicks.... not used to that ease) and tryed the volume down with the power button. I know with some gingerbread roms you have to uncheck fastboot in power settings in order to get into recovery. Is there a fastboot in honeycomb to uncheck?
I can get into revoery via the Acer recovery app but want to be able to get in recovery just in case I ever get in trouble and have to use my nand.
Thanks for the help and looking forward to shooting the **** with you guys!
Thanks,
Chef

Posted this at modaco as well.
Any views on if it will be possible to get a hold volume down shortcut to get to CWM recovery to save having to nvflash whenever we get a big problem?
Or is this a hardware thing that isn't possible to fix?

Over at MoDaCo AdamG poisted his start on this before he got rid of his Vega.

So hopefully it is doable.
Hi all. I am a long time lurker and I am having issues with my DX running Liberty 1.5. It has been working very very well for about a month and then today all the buttons but the home and power button stopped working. I thought that maybe something was wrong and the phone was just having a 'moment' when I tried to reboot it it just would hold on the first boot screen (The word Liberty). The phone wont load into recovery or really anything. If you could give me some suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. Any other info you may need just ask and I will give it.
Can you get into the bootloader? To do this you turn it on while holding the volume down and camera buttons
yes I can get into bootloader would you be able to guide me from here?
Simply look up a guide on how to sbf. There are plenty on this forum and more on google

Hi Everyone. First off I'd like to thank everyone that participates here for all of the valuable information. I am a new Android user and the information I have found here has been the best
I have a problem and I was wondering if it was me or if maybe it is a known issue. I have perm rooted my phone (thanks to bcnice's info!) and installed ClockworkMod Recovery 3.0.1.4. I noticed if I turn my phone off and connect it to the charger it will boot into CwM each time and stop charging (the LED goes out). If i select "power off" from within the recovery menu it will turn off (the LED comes back on) but then it will boot right back into clockwork and the LED turns off again. Is this normal? Should I reflash clockwork? I guess it isnt the end of the world but it is a little annoying.
Thanks!
I believe it any issue with everyone on the shift right now.

Another question - is Dalvik cache being wiped correctly with this recovery?

I rooted my nook, downloaded rom manager, flashed cwm and did a nandroid back up. Now I'm stuck on the cwm revovery and cant reboot, volume rockers wont do anything, home button wont do anything or power button. Its just stuck on the black and orange recovery and wont reboot or anything. On my evo 4g I would do a battery pull and go back in to revovery but I can't do that with the nook. Any suggestions? Please!!! My wife will hang me alive. Thanks in advance.
Dave
Well I got it to power down...... now I can't get it to power back up?????
OK now everytime I hit rebbot system it goes right back to recovery. Can I just download a rom and flash it? That makes most sense to me.... and I want to go cm7 but dont understand this whole dual boot feature on the nook
check this out, it may help.

Thanks dude. Im in a pickle. I can't get out of recovery with my sd in. Quite a bit different from my evo 4g. I have some reading up to do.

yeah, the nice thing about the nook is that it's (knock on wood) pretty much unbrickable... just flash an image onto your sdcard and boot it from there (it tries to read the sdcard first from my understanding) to fix issues...
Ohhh. That's awesome news because I have a brick right now. I've gotten into some sticky situations with my evo but always pulled out smelling like roses. I just don't know the Nook at all right now. Ill have cm7 on it by tonight. Im pretty stubborn. Lol

Hello,
I just got a used MyTouch 4G which seems to work flawlessly with stock 2.2.1 and 2.3.4. I'm trying to root and flash it with a custom rom.
I've reverted back to 2.2.1 stock, visionary, done s=off, and have root access. I install CWM 5.0.2(?) but when I try and go into recovery mode either through ROM Manager or the choose recovery from the ROM Manager menu but then when I try to do something I get a black screen with the Hat and circle arrow and it just sits there.
I didn't have this problem with my Nook, am I missing something?
Thanks,
Lich

Hit the power button when you see the hat wearing arrow. The menu is hidden, power makes it visible. Use the trackpad click to make selections, not power. Volume rocker and trackpad can be used to move the highlight, but power shows/hides the menu.

Thanks guys!
I completely noobed it somehow, and thought it only vol. power would work. I accidentally hit the trackpad and was like "AHH! got it!"
All working now just trying to decide on the ROM!
Just a follow up question. Is there a reason why many of the ROMs seem to have been abandon? Are the chefs working on ICS or moved on to another phone?
