I used GingerDX for most of the time, but then I found out that it has some issues with 3D performance.
what kind of issues with 3D?

yes the 3d performance is lower on GDX , sadly the games are lagging a bit which was not the case when i was using froyobread but it's still ok
Is any way to improve the 3d perfomance? I really would like to play fruit ninja on my gdx x8

Well actualy you can, it's very smooth!
Yeah, sorry, I meant to play better... for some reason fruit ninja lags a little and cost me the game sometimes.
Maybe I should reboot the phone before playing? Any other idea?
i want to play pes 2011 on my x8 with gingerdx v017,but it has some lags, how to fix it ??????
Just use any Froyo ROM!
i recommend froyobread

GingerDX v16 600mhz
OK, got it clear... even if I would like to keep gdx, if I want a good gaming performance I need to go froyo.
Thxs for the comparatives.
hi, i'm using froyobread v.023b and i'm pleased with it regarding 3D gaming. It makes some problems at multitouch games and it has a slow autobrightness.
before that i had the MiniCM7-2.0.7 and nfs shift didn't work and other 3d games didn't move so fine.
i'd like to try the gingerDX rom but the download link doesn't appear. so if someone could help me with the link of the ginger dx v017. THX

Thanks for the benchmark! As I see 3D score is pretty much the same. Maybe 2D performance is keeping us back?
yea the 2d score is like 3/4 the performance of froyo roms.....
i like GingerDX roms
I had GDX v017+LDX v004+128Mb Swap, and 3D Gaming Performance was tolerable and 950-1100 Quadrant score...but now I've FroyoBread v023b+748 OC and 800-1000 Quadrant Score... but games are running better, smoother...

Not that i have lags or something phone is working great but the benchmarks are show up low.
its really good that SE learned to remove FPS cap from the kernel... our X10s lag like hell... even though they have very capable hardware components...

Do you guys think that the Arc has a 60fps cap? I havent seen it go beyond 60 bar the earlier previews.

remove junk apps... stop/kill unnecessary apps (using taskmanager apps)
btw on X10 we were able to reach 2800+ quadrant score
but that was using the data2sd "hack"
normally we get ~1600 on X10

60FPS is standard for a smooth experience, I can hardly see the point in it going over that.
was just curius and posted my benchmark result
terribly low IO
Attached my score. Notice how the IO is the lowest I got. My CPU even beats the Atrix 4G (strange). I wonder how can the IO be improved?
My experience on the phone is really great, no lags at all, everything is fast including stress test of Temple Run Brave. Funny right?
My highest GB scores

Finally Guys Temple Run On Our Lovely Xperia X8
Download Temple Run.apk
Too lagy and crashes
The game is very laggy, crashes sometimes, and also in between play, the player dies for no reason at all
Hopefully a better port would come along, in time. (But still a big thanks to the person who ported this )
(Been waiting for this game for tooooooo long, only to find our Xperia X8 isn't compatible )

Yes!
I even tried chainfire 3d, reduced textures, used swapper 256 100 swappiness. Still it gives lag, and sometimes doesn't respond to gestures.
I think now i'll have to flash MiniCM7.

Who cares about benchmarks, the user experience is the most important part. Sometimes benchmark apps give very high scores, but the ROM feels choppy and slow. That's why those benchmark apps are mostly useless, it's a bit the same story as with the 'how much free RAM can you get' stories. You guys are wasting memory by installing such as app, while we don't have to much..
In fact, MiniCM9-3.0.0 has got the best 2D and 3D performance since it uses the libs that are provided by Qualcomm, it's incredibly awesome. If you don't believe this, go ahead and test the ROM. And don't run a benchmark app, but just use your eyes and see the difference.
btw, the kernel used is nAa-ics-1 off course..
MiniCM7 and MiniCM9 for me have the best 2D,3D performance, everything is smooth and clear and games runs property ,, of course in combination with nAa kernel..

NobodyAtAll's version 11.________________________________________.Alfsamsungs version 8As you can see both of the kernels get the same score at the end. But with the NobodyAtAll's kernel you get noticeably better Database IO and better Sd card reads.
And with the Alfsamsungs you get better 2D graphics and 3D just by a little bit. Also on the Recovery side you get a Touch UI in the Alfs version 8 kernel.
So let's wrap this up, if your a Gamer and want the best performance on your phone i highly recommend the Alfs v8.

you're lil test are not saying much since you're missing all specs
which rom ?
which clock speed? (cant see on the screen shots)
which cpu governor?
and how many test did you do? benchmarks result change quite often
Prime HD Alfs v8a/Naa 11 600Mhz (omdemand) Tested many many times and the 1728 was the max i was able to get on both kernels.
the test is not precise because you haven't turned off the sdcard r/w test and the result is varied in the tests
edit : it actually turned out that alfs v8 wins by 9 points
woo a whole 9points

If only people could stop seeing development as a war zone...
People are sharing their work, it is not a competition.
Some like one kernel better, some like another.
There is a place here for every legit development work, so stop trying to light fires.
