MS wrote that in chipset driver missing Wifi tethering support.
Will someone to add this support for our HD2 or at least make suppurt for Mango in DFrouter ?
Thanks for info.
Some reports says that some device wifi chipset could not support this feature, so before trying to add something in driver, guys need to check if the chipset itself supports that.
Does anyone know what chipset our HD2s have? The Broadcom 4329 chipset is required for tethering support. (As per this Ars Technica article: http://arstechnica.com/microsoft/news/2011/09/mango-wifi-sharing-to-have-hardware-driver-and-carrier-restrictions.ars)

Correct, but it also has BCM 4329 there are pics here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=624331
I think someone has mentioned somewhere here that tethering is available in mango but it is carrier activated.
I just hopped on a great offer of free unlimited data from my carrier, and would really love some of that sweet, sweet wifi tethering.

AFAIK your linked thread says it requires WP7 root tools, which is not available for HTC devices at the moment.
OKi, tnx for clarifying that for me.

In the HTC official Leo Spec, it has digital compass. Does Leo's compass work as the same as Iphone 3GS(not using gps)?
I am using touch hd, and I enjoy NeoS2007 Pack3. Is the HTC Leo's graphic driver best enough for the graphic performence?
yes and about the graphic performence: it's definetely better than on the HD.
Yeah well. But will HTC pull another qualcolm on us and make the HD2 a device without full drivers?

Have any of you check out the HTC HD2 reveiw at SoloPalmari. It's in Italian, but you can use Google translator to read the the three part review.
If you can't read it for some reason, send me your email and I will send you a pdf of the article. I would post it on the site, but due to copy right issues, I wont'.
cheers.
btw, I have pre ordered the HTC HD2 with Clove.

Depends on what you mean by "full drivers". It's already a known fact that the HD2 has hardware-accelerated OpenGL ES 1.1. What's not known is whether it has video decode acceleration or not - but from what I've seen I'd say not. Apparently the Toshiba TG01 does, though. Although TBH, it might not matter all that much considering how fast Snapdragon is anyway.
maybe the official Leo Roms can show the details
In Htcpedia, the official multiple languages can be downloaded from the link:
http://htcpedia.com/news/official-htc-hd2-wm6_5-rom.html
Maybe some experts can tell us the details in the ROMs, and show his/her evaluation.

Yeah, but to fork out a huge amount of money, I'd rather that the full hardware capabilities are being made use of. I don't want the HD2 to be like my HD. A device with huge potential but locked.

yesh i know... Just wanted to let you know whats happening with HTC...
but if anything else comes it'll be up here ASAP
I hope you get somewhere!
I'd actually like just a revamped version of the existing phone!
Same case/keyboard/screen (or SLIGHTLY larger) just:
Faster CPU
More memory
HSDPA
USB host
VGA out
SSD
Possibly dual-boot to Windows XP(/7)/Windows Mobile
Higher gain antenna
That for me would make the PERFECT device.
cant run xp and wm on the same device, not without actually creating 2 devices. different processor architecture.
well,
i'm waiting for a reply from the HTC dudes.
so well wait and see

Windows Mobnile 6.5
Windows Mobile 6.5.3
Windows Mobile 6.1 touchflow like Toudh HD touch ROM?
or
Andriod/?
Both
Android - WP7 or at least 6.5.X
Ok,
So Andriod or WM 6.5.x
then an OEM upgrade to WM7
In Humbrid specs isn't radiomodule. Which chipset realize GSM/WCDMA communications?
check the wiki, it is posted there

There isn't hardware specifications
This may be of interest:
http://www.phonewreck.com/2010/08/19/samsung-galaxy-s-teardown/
The baseband processor is an Infineon YYN1N7438A8, and the radio side has several Triquint chips and an Infineon transceiver.
There seems to be a lot more RAM on there than I was expecting, if that's correct (2GB + 1GB?).
Thanks! It's directly i'm need
HM... I'm expecting 2 memmodules (1 for GPU, 1 for CPU), but 1 and 2 GB....

They list this as BT 2.1, which seems wrong, should be BT 3.0 Is this a mistake? Am I mistaken?

No, it's perfectly correct. BT3.0 is BT2+WiFi+appropriate drivers.
Sent from my personal Dis-organizer GT-I9000
There are listed 2 modules of SDRAM. 1GB and 2GB. We have 512MB. What's wrong?
Lots of things clearly..

Hi i've just come across the chipset while browsing the infinion website.
The galaxy S is using the XMM 6160 Platform.
http://www.infineon.com/cms/en/product/channel.html?channel=db3a304319c6f18c011a39327f69054d
and they also have a PDF that mentions it's use in the galaxy s here http://www.infineon.com/dgdl/2010-07-28+Q3+FY10+Investor+Presentation.pdf?folderId=db3a304326623792012678cdc8f707a1&fileId=db3a304329a0f6ee012a1488a88a32f1
well i found a little something interesting on this article...
According to UBM Techinsights, the chip is a low-power package with 802.11n, Bluetooth 2.1, and FM capability.

Is it possible to emulate or virtualize such hardware?
For an example, my Realtek HD audio chip on my motherboard doesn't support Dolby Digital Live traditionally (lacks the hardware chip). But it can instead use the CPU for this task with proper drivers.
