Have any of y'all found a way for the Nexus 7 to work with an MHL Adapter? I don't wanna have to buy a new adapter just to get this thing on the tele. Lol
Not supported.

Is it possible to emulate or virtualize such hardware?
For an example, my Realtek HD audio chip on my motherboard doesn't support Dolby Digital Live traditionally (lacks the hardware chip). But it can instead use the CPU for this task with proper drivers.

Ok, after I already searched....... can someone who uses this feature answer a few questions.
1. What's a good ROM that supports the audio out port with no modding?
2. Is there anyway to get it to automatically SWITCH to the audio out port when you dock it?
3. Any cool apps that you personally have used for docking?

LoL, owned.
Ok, bumping this since a lot of us have switched over to the new CM7...
Any idea on how to get this working again?

I'm not sure if this is how other devices handle this but that app and others starting a new intent (com.sec.android.intent.action.INTERNAL_SPEAKER) with a state bit to enable/disable the usb audio. It is my understanding that Samsung implemented a closed source application registered to this intent in order to change the audio state. If this is the case that they are using a non-standard proprietary app then it is possible that the functionality doesn't exist in CM.

doesnt work in CM7
unless the CM team or someone independent creates a CM7 compatible Kernel that supports the dock then no. noobnl gave it a go but it didn't work, so it got pushed off, maybe permenantly. someone from the cyanogen forums is trying it but he's admitted that its probably out of his league

Yes, I know this has been asked on the Xoom and Transformer forums.
And on the Archos Gen 8 they have a working setup: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=871391
Question is, Will a USB TV tuner setup like the one for the Archos work under Honeycomb on the Thrive? If not, what will need to be done?
Comments / Suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks.
USB Digital TV tuner?
Well, guess that after almost 3 and a half months and 412 views there is no interest for this feature for the Thrive.
Thanks.

If there is an app that will control the device and droivers for HC for the device, then yes. Otherwise, no.

Thanks for your answer and your support for the thrive.
Thanks. I try my best.
Hi
I just thought, in the Galaxy Nexus ICS presentation they showed a feature where if you hold two phones next to each other one will transfer information to the other. Will that be possible on this phone when we start seeing ICS ROMs? Or is that something to do with hardware also?
No its only working with that NFC chip... but i think the nexus s has that chip also.. hope i couldhelp
Lol no doubt somebody will make something that plugs into the micro-usb port lol and allows that!

No I would fund the whole thing myself just so I can see the look on my friends face who loves Windows Mobile 7 lol
NFC Chips aren't that big, you just might be able to hardmod your device and install an NFC Chip :3 of course, you're gonna need a lot more work before it actually works.
I think it shd b psbl. Not sure how but the market app Bump does something similar
Sent from my HTC Desire HD using XDA App
it could probably be made with bluetooth and the accelerometer.
i remember Google saying something about NFC stickers for older phones when they launched Google Wallet.
http://www.slashgear.com/google-wallet-worries-nfc-stickers-mia-20181114/
I'm just assuming they can be used for "Beaming" too
there is an app on the market ("Bump" I think it's called) that gives similar functionality... only thing is both phones have to have the app installed on both phones to do any transfers.
This "Enable USB audio", requesting by user to standardize USB audio on Android smartphones/tablets, is currently ranked 7 of 20,775 on google just in 6 month only...
Anyone can let me know which kernal or rom is support this feature well ??
so that i can use my DAC device on s2 just like apple product
(known ;redpill kernal...)
No SGS2 kernels support it. And I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for one. Very unlikely to happen.
Try out redpill with Hyperdroid Androidmeda to see if it works for you... Doubt it will though.

There was a bounty for this, but none claimed it. Thats why it wont propably happen. It would be still nice to have.

ok thks ..i try to flash it now ..
100 bucks says it doesn't work. Better devs than that guy have had a look at it & gone 'Nup".
You won't see this on SGS2 given development is very much mature (I.E closer to being no more development than development just starting) for that phone with a new model out & devs beginning to move on.
Only way you might get it is if you either code it yourself or a dev who personally wants to use this feature puts himself thru the crap of coding it.
Well the sgs3 supports it en a lot of developers have succeeded in running it on other devices such as the archos 9 tablet.
Would it realy be that hard to implement the usb sound driver files into a kernel and rom?
Isnt it a basic alsa driver?
There is an official google thread request on this where you can subscribe.
Hi guys,
I want to make a small firmware for my android TV. Or customize a firmware and install it on my TV.
My chipset is MediaTek. Can I do this?
May you help me? I'm new here, please guide.
Do you have source code for your device? No? Then you cannot make new firmware

Yes, I have
I recommend to pick random build guide from LineageOS wiki
https://wiki.lineageos.org/contributing
or some xda build guide

Please don't laugh too hard as I am still learning but what advantage will rooting your TV be ? Yes , that is an honest question cuz I just bought a Hisense 70" android tv with google Chromecast yad yada . The 1 thing I have noticed is it persistently tells me to delete apps , memory is low. I know theres a way to use a usb stick to increase the memory but how do you even do that? BTW, great tv for $400. Can't beat it.
