Hi tino1708,
since you have already performed a soft reset, you may want to think about a HARD reset, which is a complete wipe of the device back to factory condition - this will hopefully eradicate the problems you are currently facing, making your device function more efficiently.
Note: Everything disappears and you are left with a spanking clean device. This is done as a last resort.
Let us know if you think you would consider doing this.
Regards.
thank you mastoid for a quick answer i will try this. but i forgot something to ask, is it maybe becouse a hot fix to enhance response time for HTC Touch HD isn't installed, or what about a memory in use, the memory in use on my touch hd when i make soft reset, so when no program is started only the activesync is running i 32-41%, is this normal?

hmm... your cpu usage is quite high, especially since you do not have any other applications running in the background.
I would suggest that you can try the hotfix if you think it is related to your current problem - you should find this on the official HTC website:
Here is the link to the patch for fixing the response time issue: http://www.htc.com/www/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=179&cat=0&dl_id=448
However, if your situation does not improve then I would suggest you also try a hard reset just to discover whether or not you have installed any software which could be causing device conflicts.
If you would like to perform a hard reset, please try the following:
1. With the device turned off, press and hold the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons, then briefly press the POWER button.
2. Continue pressing the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons until you see this message on the screen:
Warning! Your device will be set back to factory default settings. Please ensure any additional installed programs and/or user data have been backed up before a hard reset is performed.
3. Release the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons, press the VOLUME UP button to perform the hard reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset.
If you would like to be more adventurous, you could also try flashing your phone back to the stock ROM (and then maybe to a custom ROM of your choice) to see if this improves your phone's condition (i can also provide you with instructions on how to flash to a custom ROM)
Best of luck.
i will perform a hard reset just becouse of this high memory (cpu) usage that worrying me and only the activesync is running(it always running), it was suspicious to me to.thank you very much mastoid i will post my results tommorow.

No problem mate.
I think it is best to try this step by step. Let us know how you get on.
p.s. there is nothing wrong with your English, it's very good
Things you can try...
Before you try the Hard Reset tomorrow, you can Backup any important data (i.e. Contacts, etc) using PIM Backup application. If your phone situation does not improve, then you can try the hotfix(s) on HTC's website.
If you still experience issues and nothing else works, then you can try downgrading (to stock ROM) and then upgrading (to custom ROM) your ROM version. If not already done so, you need to decide if you want to use HSPL (Hard SPL) or USPL (User SPL). USPL is a temporary upgrade in memory only, to make the change permanent (survive a reset) you should use HSPL.
You also need to check what SPL version you have, boot the phone holding the volume down button. This will put the phone in it’s “bootloader” screen. My phone had version 1.54 and I have a 1.56+ version ROM. In order to upgrade to a custom ROM you must change your SPL to allow uncertified upgrades, such a SPL has been made by “Olinex” and you must first install/flash this to you phone.
A guide and all the files you need are found in this tutorial; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505377. This will explain the terms more in detail if you want.
If you have any difficulty in following the above guide, you can refer to the following blog which explains the flashing process step-by-step:
http://journal.zenyee.com/2009/06/21/custom-rom-upgrade-for-dummies/
Please Note: Before flashing, make sure you have .NET Framework 3.5 installed and make sure your phone's battery is charged to at least 50%.
Regards.
thanks on your help end links. i couldn't wait till tomorow so i have performed hard reset now, i will see tomorow how the phone behaves and is it going to be slow again, but after the hard reset the memory usage is still 32% (with activesync running), why so high?

There could be a number of reasons for this behaviour including applications running in the background. I remember when when memory usage used to be quite high, around 30% - 41% (even when left idle), which was quite normal in predecessor ROM editions, especially in Windows Mobile 6.1 OS, but the biggest changes for the latest ROMs was the incorporation of Windows Mobile 6.5 OS, which has been tremedously improved in the area of memory utilization and performance.
It may be worth checking the available memory in settings:
Go to Start/Settings/System/Memory and write down what the figures say for both Program and Storage memory.
Storage: Total 322.79MB In Use: 28.79MB Free: 294MB
Program: Total: 195.58MB In Use: 70.75MB Free: 124.83MB
Sometimes, simple things may work.
First, you should read about the ActiveSync tweaks (i.e. creating a fake server, etc.) cause ActiveSync (on your device) may also be a cause for slowdowns or lots of other trouble: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1078848&postcount=2 - who knows, you can always try, it doesn't hurt, for ActiveSync will continue working normally afterwards.
Next, you should install CleanRAM to help you clean RAM without rebooting (if it helps then there is some nasty app running in the background which should be uninstalled, check your list of recently installed apps/themes and list them here):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=514333
Finally, I can see from your signature that you still seem to use the old Blackstone ROM. HTC has released an official upgrade available in April 2009. So it may be worthwhile upgrading to the official ROM because a lot (!) of improvements have come with that upgrade (beware to backup ALL your data before doing anything like this or you will regret it !!):
http://www.htc.com/europe/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=179&cat=2&dl_id=533 - this step should be taken once you know a bit more what you are doing ...
thank you georgeus2008, i will try some of this, but when i write my serial number it says Sorry, this software download is not suitable for your device.

As Georgeous2008 has mentioned, if the first two steps do not make any difference then i really think it would be a wise decision to upgrade to a newer and more stablr ROM version. I would definately first try the official ROM (April 2009) shown above from HTC's official website before trying a custom ROM - this way at least you know that you are upgrading to a stock version, which is standard.

The serial number is specific to a region. You can either:
try changing the last 5 digits in the serialnumber you enter on HTC's homepage, and you will eventually find one that works with your language;
or
update your devices SPL version, then you can upgrade to the latest ROMs.
If it still won't accept the serial number then all you can really do is upgrade to a custom ROM version - many of these are stable and have been developed with many modifications and enhancements. I am currently using XannyTechROM GRID EVO 1.7C, which is a great ROM and I would reccommend trying this one out. Here is a link detailing the latest and greatest builds: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=569715
Before you can do this though (upgrade to a custom ROM), as previously suggested, you will need to check your SPL version. Please refer to my previous post and this explains how to do this.
thank you both. ok i will try this steps,i also think that is beter to upgrade to newer version of ROM but i can't download it from the official site i will try to find some other link to it.
yes, i am from croatia and i can only select Europe home becouse there isn't listed my country
it worked i changed the last number from 1 to 2 end now i'm downloading thank you very muc mate!
this is what the bootloader screen says

Yes, HTC is conducting a preliminary verification to ensure security when it comes to your device and flashing it. Based on the serial number you've entered, the system rejected it because most probably your device is from another region than the update addresses.
try this link, unfortunately i cannot understand your language so tell me if there is a ROM update suggested here for your device:

good stuff
keep us updated, especially if you run into any further problems.
EDIT: Yep, the Bootloader screen confirms that you still have your stock spl 1.14.0000 (very old) installed. In order to flash the latest roms you need either use HSPL 1.56.Olinex or USPL, which requires you to upgrade your spl to 1.54.0000. Refer to the guides i posted previously on the first page... it is not that difficult if you read the guide and follow the steps. If you have any further questions please post them. Remember, in order to upgrade to a custom ROM, many require SPL version 1.56+ to be installed.
Try this ROM upgrade from HTC website first - if you notice no improvements, upgrade your SPL version and then install a custom ROM.
ok i will, but this i'll realy do tomorow especially becouse it's my first time to upgrade rom and it's late for me so thank you and god night.
p.s. you should really come to croatia and see our beautiful coast (and learn some words) .
Good day to all esp. to the masters of XDA,
First off, I'd like to apologize if there's already a thread like this or a kinda sorta thread like this. I've tried searching but haven't found answers really pertaining to my inquiry. If you do know a thread please point me to it, sorry for the trouble.
On to my question: I have an HD2 TMOUS with stock rom ver. 2.10.xxx, I would like to upgrade to stock rom ver. 3.14.xxx. I would like to know if I could upgrade directly to 3.14.xxx or do I have to go through upgrading to the versions in the middle of 2.10.xxx and 3.14.xxx before going to 3.14.xxx.
Currently I have SPL-3.03.0000 which I've installed using HSPL4. Do I have to uninstall this and go back to 1.66?
Hey ralfkof119, this topic have been discussed several times. Since I'm in a good mood today I will point you out to the right direction. Yes you can download directly from 2.10.xxx to 3.14.531.1
1) http://dl.htc.com/ruudownload/t-mobileUS/DeviceDownloads.aspx?pid=leo2
2) type in your 15 digit IMEI number then press SUBMIT.
3) download the file to your desktop.
4) connect your phone to the computer and let it synchronized
5) backup all your personal information because it will factory reset your phone.
6) double Tap on the file you just downloaded follow the steps and VOILA'.
your phone should bow be Tmobile official 3.14.531.1.
Thanks for the reply. I read in the link you gave me that I can update directly to 3.14 so I tried it but upgrade doesn't go successfully, I always get error 262. So I searched the forums for error 262.
Although there wasn't much about 262, the threads gave me an idea to use task 29 before installing 3.14. So I installed HSPL 3.03 with HSPL 4 and tried task 29 and then run the 3.14 ROM downloaded from your link and it went successfully.
I just want to know if I did it right. Although it is working now, I might've messed something up to cause a major bad later. Please do confirm. Thanks again.
Yes you did it right.
Error 262 is because you were running the update with winmo running, so step 1 when you run the .exe is the phone restarting into bootloader, by which time the USB connection has timed out.
the method you ended up using, you entered bootloader manually and then established the USB connection, so no timeout.
when you received the 262, had you simply run the .exe again without touching the phone (which had already entered bootloader) the flash would have worked.
Summary, when flashing rom/radio/hspl, put the phone into bootloader manually first.
Ohhhh.... Thanks samsamuel. But it is still good practice to do a task 29 just to clean things up ^_^.
I'll be sure to remember that samsamuel.

well, kinda, in theory. i've never done one (well, once, two yrs ago) and ive never had any probs . Flashing a stock rom performs a task 28 anyway, which covers most of the areas a task 29 covers, , plus, there are increasing numbers of people reporting what appear to be bad blocks, especially now we are flashing nand android a lot, and to my mind a task 29 seems like unecessary extra wear and tear on the nand memory.
Im not saying task29 is useless, i'm sure it does help in certain circumstances, , but i'm also sure 99% of task29's that get performed every day are wasted.

not from android.
the mechanics of teh flash are simple
Clear your sd card (it will be fully wiped and formatted)
Into magldr - usb flasher - flash the wp7 rom of your choice according to the instructions in that roms thread.
I liked
[ROM] Back to the Future [XBmod-Yuki][Updatable]Build 8107 Ready
because it will work with official updates correctly through zune, (more roms might do that by now, I've not used it for some months) but its a loong delicate process, you essentially install several things in the correct order, some from files, some from Zune, some take seconds some an hour or more, especially if you let it update through Zune from MS, rather than finding the packs and installing them in order.
One slip up and you have to start again.
Its not a ten minute flash like android, took me several hours and several flashes to get right. (basically you install each of the builds all the way from 7004 up to mango.
If you go for that rom i mentioned, be sure and read the first 3 or 4 posts FULLY more than once before you start. I 'think' i remember a second thread specifically about how to install that rom.
edit
HERE
[Install Guide] Back to the Future [XBmod-Yuki]
read it very carefully, the first 5 or 6 posts.
The best install method for the ROM mentioned is one-shot from the basic WP7 or through Zune, it takes a while (an hour-odd), but you get there in the end. Although other working Mango versions have just straight flash options that only take minutes, so might be worth a shot.
READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!!!!! Most muck-ups happen when you fail to read some small, but important piece of info.
I'm just wondering since this mod isn't officially supported anymore, and the information on how to use it is scattered all over. How do you install it now to the latest version?
Assuming I have everything ready, since I used to run Pdaimatejam's Tango and I now want to try Yuki's, since it's supposedly easier since my phone will effectively function as a legit WP7 phone.
Radio, HSP, MAGLDR are all working properly.
Can anyone tell me the exact process? Since I'm not exactly sure from what I've been piecing together for the past 5 hours...
Do I...
1. Flash the Yuki v2.1 ROM
2. set the time/date
3. Update via Zune all the way til the end
4. get the activation code(I'm not exactly sure how to get it, does anyone know how to get it if I'm situated in the Philippines?)
5. load the Sp1 cab
Are there any other cabs I need to load? or any other steps I have to do? and how do I get an activation code from my current location? Is it the same as everyone else's?
edit: Though can I also ask, which version is better? Yuki's or pdaimatejam's? Since they say Yuki's can be updated normally, which other ROMs can't do.
why do you say the instructions are scattered all over the place? instructions are in 2 companion threads...the main thread is in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1236027 and the companion thread is in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1250869.
carefully read the threads. yuki is at v8107 with no updates available yet to v8773. we doubt we'll get auto updates to 8773 and beyond. if you are unsure what to do stick with the other roms that are at v8779.
again, read the threads carefully before asking for how-to do something to flash...all you need to know are in the threads above.
Hello members of XDA forum,
I seem to have a little problem currently, and have in fact had this problem for around 2 week's now, with tinkering for a total of around 10-15 hours to try install android onto my HTC HD2 phone.
I have recently been given a HD2 from a family member as they have receive a upgrade in there contract and decided to let me have a updated phone (as long as it text's rings and can check emails/facebook it's a great phone to me)
Now i have currently tried following multiple guides around to get me into the zone for starting to get used to installing android, but without any luck, i have mainly been trying to do the steps from this guide " How to Install Android on HTC HD2 – Android 4.0.4 " search on google.
But so far i haven't had any luck, and to be totally honest i have no idea why, i have great computer knowledge but this is seriously confusing me right at the moment, and I'm really tempted to just give in and go back to a outdated stock android phone, but i have put countless hour's into learning this. (attempting to)
Now the reason i wish to update from windows 6.5 is because market place and apps are no longer supported which is not good for my facebook/email need's and i really need to try and get a updated version of co-pilot for my motorbike which is why i want to upgrade to this phone.
Tonight i have spent 3 hour's following that guide, and i think i got as fair as i ever have, it all seem'd to install great, but when the phone booted up it was just like a animated screen saver and not doing anything at all apart from that, i have managed to get stock 6.5 windows on the phone around 12 times now? and still try to find updated detailed yet EASY to read guides, i have used the search bar on the forums but it seem's people have different problems, if some-one could throw me towards a good guide it would be amazing, i have tried nano i think, but wouldn't mind using a SD card to boot it off if that is alot easier/simpler, i'm really sorry if this does get asked alot but i have searched multiple times to try find a solution.
If no one has the time to try at help me out it's quite understandable due to the fact this is rather confusing to some-one who is new to the scene. but if some-one can help and would advise a different android version with a guide for that, that would be amazing.
I will check back and attempt again regardless in 18 hour's.
Thanks and regard's
Aaron.
Hi and welcome,
I would suggest making a short version of your post. That is a lot of text, without very useful information.
What useful information? Read below:
Which version of HSPL do you have?(Boot up the phone while holding volume down, it says there)
What radio are you on? (You can find this at the bottom left of the screen when booting up the phone. Or alternatively, you can find it after booting into Windows Mobile, in the settings)
Which bootloader have you tried using? ((MAGLDR or cLK) How to know? MAGLDR has a black screen with about 12 options to choose from. And it says aMAGLDR at the top. Otherwise you have cLK)
Are you using DataOnExt? (When installing the ROM, did you choose such option?) (And if you do, do you have the proper partitions on your sd card?)
As a beginning, I will advise you to follow a guide I wrote last year. The guide is rather easy and straightforward if you have the prerequisites already. Click here for the guide.
