[Q][Nov. 16]upgrading my htc hd2 TMOUS - HD2 General

Good day to all esp. to the masters of XDA,
First off, I'd like to apologize if there's already a thread like this or a kinda sorta thread like this. I've tried searching but haven't found answers really pertaining to my inquiry. If you do know a thread please point me to it, sorry for the trouble.
On to my question: I have an HD2 TMOUS with stock rom ver. 2.10.xxx, I would like to upgrade to stock rom ver. 3.14.xxx. I would like to know if I could upgrade directly to 3.14.xxx or do I have to go through upgrading to the versions in the middle of 2.10.xxx and 3.14.xxx before going to 3.14.xxx.
Currently I have SPL-3.03.0000 which I've installed using HSPL4. Do I have to uninstall this and go back to 1.66?

Hey ralfkof119, this topic have been discussed several times. Since I'm in a good mood today I will point you out to the right direction. Yes you can download directly from 2.10.xxx to 3.14.531.1
1) http://dl.htc.com/ruudownload/t-mobileUS/DeviceDownloads.aspx?pid=leo2
2) type in your 15 digit IMEI number then press SUBMIT.
3) download the file to your desktop.
4) connect your phone to the computer and let it synchronized
5) backup all your personal information because it will factory reset your phone.
6) double Tap on the file you just downloaded follow the steps and VOILA'.
your phone should bow be Tmobile official 3.14.531.1.

Thanks for the reply. I read in the link you gave me that I can update directly to 3.14 so I tried it but upgrade doesn't go successfully, I always get error 262. So I searched the forums for error 262.
Although there wasn't much about 262, the threads gave me an idea to use task 29 before installing 3.14. So I installed HSPL 3.03 with HSPL 4 and tried task 29 and then run the 3.14 ROM downloaded from your link and it went successfully.
I just want to know if I did it right. Although it is working now, I might've messed something up to cause a major bad later. Please do confirm. Thanks again.

Yes you did it right.

Error 262 is because you were running the update with winmo running, so step 1 when you run the .exe is the phone restarting into bootloader, by which time the USB connection has timed out.
the method you ended up using, you entered bootloader manually and then established the USB connection, so no timeout.
when you received the 262, had you simply run the .exe again without touching the phone (which had already entered bootloader) the flash would have worked.
Summary, when flashing rom/radio/hspl, put the phone into bootloader manually first.

Ohhhh.... Thanks samsamuel. But it is still good practice to do a task 29 just to clean things up ^_^.
I'll be sure to remember that samsamuel.

well, kinda, in theory. i've never done one (well, once, two yrs ago) and ive never had any probs . Flashing a stock rom performs a task 28 anyway, which covers most of the areas a task 29 covers, , plus, there are increasing numbers of people reporting what appear to be bad blocks, especially now we are flashing nand android a lot, and to my mind a task 29 seems like unecessary extra wear and tear on the nand memory.
Im not saying task29 is useless, i'm sure it does help in certain circumstances, , but i'm also sure 99% of task29's that get performed every day are wasted.

What did I do to my new LEO????

Well I got my new Leo 13 days ago and I've tried to make the stock ROM work to my satisfaction but between the T-Mo junk installed and terrible battery life I decided it was time to try a cooked ROM...
So I read and read and read some more...It's not my first run at this but I wanted to understand everything so I didn't end up with a $449 paperweight.
This morning I download and installed the HSPL-1024....No problems, went just as the instructions said....
I then download a 1024 T-Mo tested/approved Energy Rom and I install it on my LEO.... No problem everything went as it should. I played with the rom and wanted to try another one with a different look so I found another 1024 LEO Rom, the RoMEoS4 or something like that.... Anyway, that install went just fine...
After installing both cooked ROMS I noticed I was having freezing/locking up issues and had to keep soft reseting so after several hours of it locking up I decided to just revert back to the stock T-Mo USA rom.
I then went on here and found the exact shipped rom I had originally (I had documented the versions I had prior to HSPL and the cooked rom's)
http://beta.vbnfiles.com/index.php?...08.50.08_2_Ship.zip&directory=xmoo/Leo/TMOUS&
Instructions on here clearly explained how to revert back (for warranty purposes) so I downloaded the exact stock rom, extracted it to my desktop and renamed the nbh file leoimg.nbh.... I then copied it to a formatted 8gb SDcard and inserted it into the phone.
Instructions said to hold the Volume down botton and the Power button until it boots into the bootloader and then begins to install off the card. I did this exactly and shortly after it began loading off the card it went back to the bootloader and said "Upgrade Rom Code Error, Please try again" it then goes to a gray screen that says "Loading" and stays there...stuck.
Here's a video of what it does when I try to load off the sdcard.....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eCD_-EuI1_Q
I have no idea what happened or what to do to get it out of this...
Thanks for your time!

Put it into bootloader mode, hook it up to your computer with USB, and run to stock image like you did with the cooked roms. That should flash it back to stock. Then, if you want to take the hspl off, you can just run the hspl program again and change it back to your lod spl. No need to use SD card.
Every time a thread like this pops up, I can't help but wish that the "flash from SD card" method and every reference to it could be eradicated from the collective consciousness of this forum and all unwitting participants who fall into this trap... at least long enough to establish that:
1) it isn't a necessary or preferred method to flash.
2) it has the potential to cause stuff like this to happen.

I got those instructions from a very popular chef on here so I was under the assumption that was the only way to revert back from HSPL
I've learned a valuable lesson here.....Leave it the hell alone!!!!
I'm sweating bullets right now....

If you can get to the boot loader, then you should be able to fix this pretty easily.
I'd do this:
Get to the boot loader, check the SPL version. Do you have HSPL 2.08?
IF no, install it using HSPL2_1024_RUN, (if you want a custom ROM option), or install the standard SPL if you want to have an "unhacked" HD2, and flash the stock ROM. Done.
IF HSPL 2.08 is installed and you want it like that to install custom ROMs, then I'd do the following, just for good measure:
run MTTY/task29 to clean out all the old stuff (see my sig line)
flash the TMOUS 2.08 Radio
flash a custom TMOUS compatible ROM

No, the new version of HSPL (HSPL2_1024_RUN) has an option to re-install the standard SPL. If I wanted to do that, i'd definitely use HSPL2_1024_RUN to do it.

Ok thank you....
The SPL reverted back to the original 2.08 SPL when it began the install the stock rom (before it gave me the error) So it does not have the HSPL in it anymore.
I've tried all kinds of different things to fix it but I get an error or no response with everything.
I did try to reinstall the HSPL but when I try I get the below error from the HSPL2 proggie.
Critical Error
Flow 00000003
Error Code 00000004
Discription: BAD MODEL ID
so reinstalling HSPL wont reinstall.....
I believe this is why I've not been able to fix it myself.... I'm usually pretty good with these installs. My Kaiser saw hundreds of new roms if not more and I never ran into this.
Thanks

Make sure you have the sd card out of the phone. So you get into bootloader mode, and you run the rom update from the computer? Maybe try downloading the stock rom again to make sure it's not corrupted. You should be able to flash it from your computer.
Before flashing any rom I would do task29 and completely wipe the internal memory, so you don't have any issues with left over files from the last rom. That is most likely why you started having problems in the first place. I used to think oh I can just flash a rom and it will work like new, but nope I had more problems I could deal with and almost returned the damn thing. Once you know what you are doing WM is a great OS to have and the only other phone I thought even cam eclose toa WM phone was the iPhone anyG, if i'm allowed to say that here. So, task29 first then enter bootloader and the run your customruu with any rom compatible with the TMOUS HD2 1024. Any questions just holla.

You should be able to install the T-Mobile Stock rom without needing HSPL I think. Make sure it's the stock rom you have... not a modified or cooked version.

I wouldn't give up hope, but.... Worst case: You don't have HSPL installed, so your warranty is still good! Not the best news, I realize.

No, it's not installing via my computer.....It's still sitting at 0% and been there since I began typing this thread... (30 mins) I thought I may have gotten a bad download so I've re-downloaded the stock rom twice now and still the same thing.... Sits at zero percent.

Here's where I got the stock rom.... Last link in the 1st post.

I got the second one elsewhere on XDA but I can't recall where.
If you can get your phone into bootloader then just do task29. Here is the Mega link.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=J3OELQ8I
Once task29 is done, pull your battery out and replace after 10-15 secs. Then enter bootloader again and try the stock or custom rom you want. I have been at the 0% screen before even 70% and 99% and stuck. Mine is the HTC HD2 TMOUS branded and I am currently using the AxLor Leo V9 rom and she works like a dream. Let me know if you need help.

ahh ok, that IS the stock rom, but its a repack of the 2.1 rom, not an official .exe/nbh pack. (Well, my kitchen wont import it, says its not official, and it comes with customruu)
However, look for
RUU_Leo_1_5_TMOUS_2.10.531.0_Radio_Signed_15.34.50.07U_2.08.50.08_2_Ship
which is the packed ship .exe. (and does open as official in the kitchen)
ill submit this, and see if i can find the link.
EDIT - heres a mirror of
RUU_Leo_1_5_TMOUS_2.10.531.0_Radio_Signed_15.34.50.07U_2.08.50.08_2_Ship.exe

I am glad you pointed out this error on my part. I honestly did not know that HSPL2 and HSPL1024 were 2 different programs....
I was merely referring to HSPL1024 as the second version of HSPL....or HSPL2..... I didn't mean to create confusion... sorry about that...
To confirm I am using HSPL-1024

so I'm kinda confused...you say that that you shouldn't flash from the sd card. and im sure you know more about this technically speaking than I do but what confuses me is I've been told and read MANY times by people probably more experience than both of us that flashing from your sd card IS the safest way to flash...im not saying your wrong but it concerns me because that is the method I use mainly for convience.but if this has the potential to destroy my very expensive device that I can't afford to replace I would REALLY like to know and know why. if anybody can guide me here why two different stories and maybe some reasons why one method had a higher chance for problems I would really appreciate it =)

Big problem with my HD2, apparently. Someone, please ?

Hi, how are you, guys ?
I'm new to this awesome forum (helped me many times), and I decided to post a new thread because I believe that my situation is pretty serious.
I'm from France, by the way, so I apologize in advance for potential grammatical errors or what. Let's cut it to the chase.
Like most of you, I love new technologies with mobiles, that's why I bought what I consider to be the greatest smartphone on the planet right now, the HTC Leo/HD2.
When I searched all over the internet for tests, reviews about several phones I planned on buying, the HD2 seemed to be the most versatile of them. I was most notably amazed by the fact that the Leo could be a home to Windows Mobile 6.5, Windows Phone 7, Android, among others. So my choice was made.
I wanted immediately to upgrade the OS, and to go into WP7. Several reasons to that, the first being Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional. As it's name indicates, this OS seemed to be made for professional purposes. Plus, and you may guess it, I was really excited to try Windows Phone 7.
I tried to search the easiest and most detailed tutorial on how to upgrade to WP7, and I found this site:
I'm not authorized to post the link to the site, so I'll just tell you that the article is "Download Windows Phone 7 [WP7] ROM For HTC HD2 [Install Guide]", in Aliwaqas[dot]com
Looks serious, right ?
I downloaded the files and followed the instructions.
Aparté: Before that, a week before, I downloaded the latest ROM from the HTC website, because I had a problem with text messages, a problem some of you (or even all of you) must've had: It took way too many time for the virtual keyboard to appear and process with the text message. So I download the ROM, it was the one from 2010-10-11, 3.14.406.2.
Back to the WP7 upgrade, now.
- It was asked to grab MAGLDR, extract and copy the files to my desktop: Done.
- Download HardSPL 2.08 and install it: Done.
After that, my phone completely froze at the white HTC Screen. Every time. I tried Soft & Hard Reset many times, still freezing. I continued, hoping that WP7 would stop the freezing.
- Download the 2.15.50.14 radio and install it. Done.
- Connect my phone to the computer and execute MAGLDR (v1.12): Done.
- Go to the fifth option, "USB Flasher": Done
And there stops my progression. As a matter of fact, it is aked to execute DWI.exe, which I did. However, every time, it finishes with this:
An error has occurred
Read below for more information
Error Description: USB init failed
Info: .\RSPL\RSPL.cpp (1198)
Error Description: EnterBootloader missing
Info: .\RSPL\BootLoader.cpp (176)
Can anyone help me on this, please ? Because I can't even restart it all with the Hard Reset, because it doesn't work, obviously.
Thank you to all, peace !

The first thing you need to do is downgrade the WinMo6.5 ROM to either 1.66 (HTC) or 1.72 (branded: T-Mobile, Vodafone, etc). Go to HTC's website and download the ROM from there - you need to use your phone's serial number.
Put the phone into BootLoader Mode (with the phone off, press and hold the Volume Down button then tap the Power button). You will se a 3-colour screen with 'Serial' at the bottom. On the screen you should see SPL 3.03.0000 (this tells that you have the 3.14 ROM installed). Now connect to the PC and the 'Serial' will change to 'USB'.
Run the ROM (just tick the box about ActiveSync as bootloader bypasses the need for it). If you are running with Vista or Windows7 then you need to do this as an administrator. Once this is down you will have either a 1.66 or 1.72 ROM (either will have changed the SPL to 1.66.0000).
You can now run HSPL2 and select 2.08.HSPL.
You can now run the 2.08.50 RADIO.
Now you are prepaired to enter the world of WP7 or Android NAND flashing.
Hi,
Thank you for helping me.
In fact, fred_up, I'm already in SPL-2.08.HSPL. I went in the thread alarien suggested even before posting this one. When I told you that I tried everything I could, it was real. Went into several forums, several languages, but no solutions. I hope this'll be the one. Anyway.
When it is into BootLoader Mode, here is what's in there ("_" means "blank):
PB81100___HX-BC
SPL-2.08.HSPL__8G___XE
_______________0x05
CotullaHSPL______0x30
Even though I'm already at SPL 2.08.HSPL, do I still have to go through the process "3.03 -> 1.66 -> 2.08.HSPL -> 2.08.50" ?

yeah, use a power mat or buy one of those external battery chargers, but be sure to make an extra battery so you can use it when charging the other one..

have you tried running DWI.exe in administrator?
Yes, theroffness, I have, unsuccessfully.
Hi, everybody, thank you for your help
I re-downloaded the WPLEO7 folder, and I reinstalled it, it worked ! I'm now in Windows Phone 7, and it looks gorgeous.
On to the next problem, now
My phone is not recognized in my computer, no matter what way I try to go with. Installed Zune and the Windows Mobile Device Center, I can't do anything. Furthermore, the WMDC doesn't detect my WP7'ed HTC HD2. I want to install TouchXplorer and other .xap files, and I can't seem to find how I could possibly do that.
Anyone, s'il vous plaît ? (means "please" in french, for those of you who didn't know ! lol)
Again, Thank you to everybody who wanted to help me !

I did it, thanks for the help. However, ever since I installed chevronwp7.cer, my computer can't seem to recognize my phone anymore. I have all the related software, but I can't go farther.
Also, when I put an SD Card on my phone, it can't switch on !
I honestly don't know how to deal with that, can someone do ? Thanks.
I just solved the problem by my own. But I still have this problem with SD Card. When I put it on my HD2 (at that time, the phone is off. When it is on, it isn't recognized by the phone), I can't switch it on. I obviously need space because I can't even send some damn text messages.

[Q] Newly registered newbie

I have a HD2 that I plan on installing Android on (currently WinMo 6.5), as it's cheaper, I hope, than buying a new phone. I have a step by step guide to follow, along with all the files I need, like HSPL3, MGLDR, and CWM, etc. All I need now is the ROM build. My confusion lies in the fact that the ones I look at seem to be for US T-Mobile HD2's, and mine is an unbranded UK model. I also keep seeing references to LEO512 or LEO1024? I'm pretty sure what I want is on here, but the sheer number of threads/posts will take me forever to work through! Can some kind soul point me in the right direction and I'll take it from there? Thanks.
With the ported android roms you havent to fear to destroy your device flashing a wrong rom.
This issue is only related to wm 6.5 roms/radios.
...you only have to decide if you want to throw wm6.5 away and use a nand build or keep wm6.5 and use a sd build.
Experience
From experience I'd recommend Typhoon rom

Above, off topic or what?
Ok. Just watched a video of the HyperDroid install, looks pretty straight forward. But it doesn't have the Sense UI, which I like. CyanogenMod 7 doesn't appear to have it either? (I also don't see the link to the download for CM7 either, but I'm guessing I'm stupid or blind?)
you want any rom that supports the eu leo with 512 in the title

Hey,
1st of all welcome, 2nd - be prepared... android can be very addictive.
As for your questions, LEO512 = European with 512mb rom (which you have) & LEO1024 = tmoUS with 1024mb rom.
If you prefer sense based roms you wont really go wrong with any build from Rafpina, imilka, Sergio76 or cmylxgo. Tho ive found RAFDROID HD builds are very stable & fast, also very straight forward to setup (tho there is NO Best rom id say this is a good starting point)

Yup 2nd that !
Rafdroid is still my favorite everyday build because of the sense widgets which show my emails, news etc on the 'desktop'.
Just about everything works in that build and is a perfect step from WM to Android.
First I would have a go with Android on the SD-card as it also works like it should and should be extreemly simple if you have a correct radio (ver 2,08 and above I thought). Should be easy to check in the software version tab all the way on the right hand side I believe.
After playing with it you can still decide if you want to go natively Android or not.
There are backup tools like Titanium pro which are worth the money.
I betcha will also enjoy the Android market!
And .... welcome to the group!
Thanks for the welcome.
I've decided I'll wipe and install to the Nand memory, I already have a Hero and love Android and the way I can customise it. Will try the process tonight.
Ok. Been at this for a while now, but I'm stumped.
Step one was install HSPL3. Went without a hiccup, no problems.
Step 2 was to install the radio. Chose EUradio (radio leo 5.15.50.14). However, I've tried half a dozen times, Windows says I am connected and I get to the HTC screen with a progress bar but then after 2-3 mins, I get an error message saying there is no communication.
Have tried:
1. different usb ports
2. loading into bootloader screen (coloured bars). Initially it says serial but then switches to USB after a short while. Tried from there, no luck.
3. rebooted the pc, and phone multiple times.
I did a search on the forum for 'no USB communication' but I get different threads bouncing about, none getting the same as me. Any ideas welcomed.

If you want to use ROM Manager with hour HD2 you will have to use cLK for your custom Android bootloader and not MAGLDR. Go and check out the "ROM Manager Now Supports HD2" thread and you can get more info on it there, it os a short bit accurate tutorial post on page two of the thread, it is only three pages right now anyway so not a lot of reading to do.

Do you have the latest version of ActiveSync or WMDC, depending on what Windows your computer uses, installed on your computer? You need the most upcto sate versions of these to flash straight through bootloader.

Thanks, but I've not even reached that part yet. The tutorial I'm following is:
1/ Install HSPL3
2/ Install radio
3/ Install MGLDR
4/ Install CWM
5/ Install Android
I'm currently stuck on step 2.

Yes. I'm running Win7 x64, everything is up to date. I did read you are supposed to turn off any antivirus? I'm using M$ Security Essentials. Would this affect it?

Hi,
You should be using :
radio version 2.15.50.14,which you can get here:
http://www.multiupload.com/QP0IWGY42F
"Initially it says serial but then switches to USB after a short while."
When it changes to USB ,that is the time to start flashing the radio.
Forgot to ask earlier, should I be removing the sim card while doing this? I've been putting in a spare one so I don't affect my 'real' one.

It should not make any difference.
I never take mine out when I change ROMS etc.

My apologies. It was a typo error earlier. I have been trying 2.15.50.14, it failed so I tried 2.08.50.05 + task29. Neither worked. Just downloaded from the link you posted, in case my file was corrupt, exactly the same, comms error (Error 262).

Ok,
Let's start again.
1.task 29 (get rid of old ROM)
2.Try to find HSPL4 and install
3.radio 2.15.50.14
4.MGLDR
See if that works...

No. Still wont work. Will not run task29, get the same 'Error 262'..
As it was bought sim free, could there be something on it blocking the software? Or on my pc?

[Q] Task 29 problem

I'm sorry i know it's against the rules to be starting a new thread but it's been a week i've been asking for help and no one noticed. This is just a try to come noticed.
I installed task 29 on my blackstone. I had olinex 1.56 installed and later did the task29 with radio 1.13, 1.14 and 1.17 After successfully doing it i went on step 2 that is installing a clean rom. I tried these roms
blackSTONEhengeHyPerSlim_4_1
RUU_TOUCH_HD_MARYONE_23148_WWE_191110
WWE_1.56.405.1_Radio_52.62.25.Shipped ROm
RUU_BlackStone_HTC_WWE_1.56.405.1_Radio_52.62.25.34_1.13.25.24_Ship(3)
They get installed but after i store the contacts and everything it gets stuck if kept for like half an hr. The screen doesn't respond but power button and the volume button works.
I took my phone to a repair center and they couldn't fix it. So please help me i've just got only one phone.
I don't mean to offend any moderators by this but i'm just asking for your help. Thank You
Try reinstalling stock ROM after Task 29.
Restore ONLY contacts, and then try using device for several days.
DO NOT install any other software!!!
If it works, then problem is in some data or software you're restoring.
If not, restore original SPL and original ROM and try again.
If it does not work... and service can not help you... then sorry...
Hello i did reinstall the stock rom after task 29 and i was using pimbackup for restoring but that freezed my phone so i installed the stock rom again and thought of not using it. Did that but nothing much helped.
I hope believe these are the correct shipped roms
WWE_1.56.405.1_Radio_52.62.25.Shipped ROm
RUU_BlackStone_HTC_WWE_1.56.405.1_Radio_52.62.25.3 4_1.13.25.24_Ship(3)
Everything on xda has worked like wonders for me. Be it android on any other rom but right after task29 nothing seems to be working on my phone.
One thing i've noticed after installing any rom after task29 is if i get to the bootloader it gets me to a 1 sec white screen saying no image found. I hope what's causing a problem.
Do you understand WHAT Task 29 is?
It formats the partition drive of your device where the ROM resides. Meaning, it wipes any data regarding ROM.
So of course it would say "No image found".
I don't know which ROM is stock for your device. Try to update ROM via HTC site.
If lucky, it will suggest / let you find adequate ROM.
For my device it's 1.56.407.2 (German)!
If unlucky, it will say "Not supported" or something like that - then go for Orange 1.59.61.2 ROM.
And you might try one 1.5x ROM flash WITHOUT Task 29...
Just try installing stock ROM by stock RUU with USB cable. It will format data for you so you do not need any task 29 before flashing. If it doesn't work, try NOT restoring your contacts.
Thanks will do it and keep yu updated with it..

Thanks i tried installing the stock rom like you told me but then got stuck on the screen alignment screen. I later installed blackSTONEhengeHyPerSlim_4_1 and now it's responding to every touch. Thanks alot. I hope this stays like this and yes instead of restoring i forwarded all the contacts through bluetooth. Owe you a BiiiiiiiiiiiiG thanks..
Too soon to be happy as same again..I don't think there should be a problem with touch as it works fine for first 1hr but right after something gets stored by something i mean contacts it stops reponding after sometime. The volume and power button work all fine. I can't make out the problem. Any ideas or suggestions. Shall i make a video and post ??
FIRST you have to make it work with factory settings - stock SPL and stock ROM.
After that flash what you like...
I think you have to follow Bodisson's suggestion, do everything as stock and retest without restoring anything. If it still failed...... you should have it repaired
Good luck!!
I had a very bad flash when I first tried Cloudy 0.7.
Unstable and freezing clock in TouchFLO (but NOT system clock!), crashing programs, very slow satelite lock with radio 1.17 on, sudden autolocking/unlocking...
So I did Task29, put on stock ROM (latest German 6.1), after that latest Orange to get newer radio, and after that Cloudy's 0.7.
Now I'm happy so far...
And I'll stick with radio 1.14 for now since it uses a bit less battery than 1.17...

Glad to see somebody researching things out and settling on a radio he prefers due to performance rather than those just going for latest
I totally agree with spartan on this one. It's better to stick with old one's for performance rather than having problems with the latest one's. My device is working better than before but it does get stuck. I'm using stock rom with 6.1 and want to switch to 6.5 so looking for some compatible 6.5 rom with radio 1.14 maybe
Bodisson can you tell me all what you're using bro so that i can tr it on with my device.

All rom's should work with each radio to be honest. Glad your device is working better, though still a little baffled why you're still having difficulties
EDIT - You are on a wm6.1 rom. Is the rom based on 1.56+, if not you may need to revert to HSPL 1.14
I know it got me bedazzled as well as i've flashed couple of times before but never faced any such difficulties. I even tried android on my phone and everything worked like charm. RUU_BlackStone_HTC_WWE_1.56.405.1_Radio_52.62.25.34_1.13.25.24_Ship is what i'm using at the moment. I did try to flash it again with a 6.5 version rom but still gets stuck. The phone does get stuck once in a while if it is kept unused for a while so don't exactly know how to go on about it.
P.S: I know how hard it is to control things as an admin as i myself run a group. Photography in my case. Cheers

I'm baffled but still want to get to the bottom of your issue and would appreciate any help from other members who may have idea's on how to solve your issue. From what I've read everything you have done is correct, but I don't like being stumped!!
If we start from the start, we may get to the bottom of this........
Ok it all started when i tried installing task 29. I flashed my blackSTONEhengeHyPerSlim_4_1 rom thinking task 29 will work awesomely fast with some newer version as it'll get installed as the default rom.
My phone started freezing like anything right after i flashed it with task 29. Right now my device is running on 1.56.405.1(43972) WWE and 1.13.25.24 rom and freezes again once in a while.
Just waiting for some miracle to make it work fine again.

Well as you know a T29 formats device so you need to flash a rom or you'll be stuck at boot screen. Before you do a T29 it states you must have HSPL on your device first. Now from what I've read you did have HSPL on first and your T29 worked as you where stuck at boot screen afterwards.
I'm assuming you turned device off, booted into bootloader then flashed youir rom (blackSTONEhengeHyPerSlim_4_1) which is based on 1.56+ as was your HSPL.
This all seems correct so I'm not sure what went wrong.
Is above all correct?
Did you try a T29 again and flash different rom or did you just flash different rom over existing?
I did task 29 on blackSTONEhengeHyPerSlim_4_1 and tried installing RUU_TOUCH_HD_MARYONE_23148_WWE_191110 in this process i started task 29 first and flashed it with radio 1.14 by placing the radio and task29 in same folder. Once done it got stuck with windows mobility. After that i restarted on bootloader once again and flashed it with RUU_TOUCH_HD_MARYONE_23148_WWE_191110 . It does get installed but then freezes on configuring device for first time use and then freezes big time on the screen for alignment. I had 1.56 installed before flashing with task 29. If the whole thing bypasses the align screen the rom will keep freezing big time.
That's been the whole issue.

Right, I never put any files in same folder as it only confuses flashing process and can cause issues. I.e. put T29 in its own folder, radio 1.14 in its own folder and then rom in another folder.
Do a T29 and when its complete, I.e. stuck in smart mobility screen. Then you take out battery to turn phone off. After this put phone into bootloader and flash rom. Then flash radio after it as a lot of roms have a radio file included

Updated ROM & Radio Now Runs very sow

I bought my HD2 after having the Desire and I got hold of the network unlock key so was free to use any network. As i'm on Three I updated with a Generic ROM and all was fine for around a week and then I got the White Screen but a Soft Reset got me back running.
Now my ROM will load but the phone is so slow I dont know how to get it back to speed. Ive put the stock T Mobile ROM back on but this does not help.
What Can I do? I think after reading that it may be a radio issue but im not that clued up here so thought i'd ask at XDA whichg ive been using for years.
If I could send it to someone to get sorted out that would be easier and i'd cover the costs,m postage and the drink for dong it.
Any advice or takers please?
Regards
Jay

The unlock key applies to the phone, not the ROM. So I would flash a new ROM. You don't mention if yours is US or Euro model, it makes a difference when flashing.
could the problem be 3.14 ROM on non 3.03 spl?
enter bootloader, what does it say on the spl line?
what version ROM is running?

NRG ROMS don't contain radios. You need to visit the first page, where they recommend radios.
I would suggest downloading the official ROM for your HD2 serial number from the HTC website. Then flash that from the SD card. This will put everything, including the radio, back on the device. Then you can go from there.
Many thanks for all the answers but their not helping unfortunately. I installed ther following a Laurentius26 ROM with the following radio 2.12.5.02_2 amd finally the phone booted up after a few hours and I could slowly make my way round the phone. To press the window key would take atleast 30 seconds top bring a response. I dont know what Is causing this and it seems like the wrong ROM & Radio is on as the phone used to fly on tjhe stock ROM.
Ive tried to reinstall the Tmobile ROM but it's just the same either way and any other ROM I try does the same.4
Is there anyway of cleaning off everything from the phone and starting again from scratch as it seems definantly that there is a conflict somewhere with the software.
I opened sys info on the phone when it was working and copied down the following just inase it helps.
OS Version 5.2.23148(23418.5.11)
Manilla Version 2.5.20212114.0
ROM Version 2.05 WWE
ROM Date 06/06/11
RADIO 2.12.5.02_2
Protocol Version 15.40.50.07U_2.12.5
Please HELP! Someone out there as i'm just about stuck and i've been playing with Smartphones since the first launch of the Orange Smartphone 10 years ago.
Many thanks in advance

flash task29 THEN flash another custom ROM, this will ensure any leftover **** gets erased, you might have something in NAND carrying over from ROM to ROM, none of the current radios will slow your ROM down like you're describing.
It's either this or hardware.
also try the above with your sd card and sim removed, its not unknown for a faulty card to play havoc with performance.
I tried task 28 and it never let me press the volume down at 99% so dont know if worked. Still running slow but it is running.
Wouldnt of thought was a HW issue as it was working fine last week. If I need to return to HTC where would I do that in the UK after installing standard T Mobile ROM?
Many thanks and any further help going on Flash 28 and how to do it successfully?
Regards
Jay
sorry task 29 LOL
I attempted Task 29 but after my device went straight into loading a ROM. I thought that Task 29 removed all ROMS. Info etc so you had to reinstall. What am I doing wrong as I followed the instructions to the letter from one of the posts on this excellent site.
Am getting really annoyed now. Is there someone who could do this for me if i send and pay for return postage and a drink please?
Any further info and will try again tonight one more time
Many thanks

I know that this may sound strange, but try formatting your SD card. When my phone starts behaving badly, fully formatting the SD solved the problem. Checking it for system file errors usually gives the same results, but doing a full format using the SD card formatter at first gives better results.
you probably have a ROM loaded in your SD card.
if your SD card root has a file called LEOIMG.NBH then it will try to flash it immediately on booting the phone, it's part of the SPL instructions. Delete or rename that file or cancel the flash.

I you mean me, no I don't flash through SD. but that's a good advice as well.
when the SD has severe System file errors, I noticed that my phone ran extremely slow. correcting those errors made my phone return to it's snappy self.
