Hello guys. Today I got my new Huawei U8800 Pro from China. Then I downloaded a new firmware from the Huawei site. Prepared the SD card, put it in the device and turned it on with +\- vol buttons. Device had started and update process too. There were Unpacking, Updating (or smth) and Installing. After that screen turned off and I suggested that I should pull out the battery. .... After that when I push turn on button device vibrates and nothing more happen ... I think I've bricked it... (( Tell me please how I can unbrick it to install firmware properly. I've waited for this phone too much and then ... bam .. i made a mistake.. Help me please.
Take the USB cable out and push VOL+, VOL- and Power. What happens then?
If nothing, try pushing VOL+ and Power. Tell me if that gets you into Recovery...

looks like huawei post wrong rom in u8800pro software section
stock rom (Lithuania tele2) call U8800PV100R001C00B026
and huawei posted call U8800V100R001C00B138SP04
If that's the case, send it back to warranty. They have the obligation to cover this for you, as it's Huawei's fault.
This is one of the reason huawei tries tp block us from downloading firmware images :/
yeah, but still, this happen to 1% of the users...Were is the logic? Give up on updates, just because 1% of the phones may come back?

Didnt say it was right but the updater really should have an installscript that checks if its u8800 or u8800 pro (or msm7xxx vs msm8xxx)

Quickly, I made a mistake flashing a ROM for u8800+ while I have u8800. I did not understand that "%2B" means "+" in ASCII or somewhere. Im in bootloop, changing boot.img and recovery.img and the rest of the files do not help, tryed to format microSD card, flashing Froyo onto it, nothing works, any other suggestion, maybe with the help of linux?
Thank you for your minute reading this!
Why don't you try to flash the official 2.3 for U8800?
Hello and good morning!
I already tryed to flashed the official 2.3 (U8800 V100R001C00B522G001%28通用版%29%28Gingerbread%29".
I copyed "dload" on microSD, pushed VOL+ and VOL- and the power button, but the phone goes to pink screen instead of the built-in updater.
I will try to take it back to the store, but I doubt, they will believe my "innocence".
Hello and thank you for your time.
I flashed the STEP ONE U8800+ latest ROM in my normal U8800.... :S
Now, even if I have a "dload" with the normal UPDATE.APP, it will just go in the pink screen....Changing the files doesn't do anything..even if I alter the recovery.img and boot.img and stuff, it won't go in Recovery(or CWM) and just keep bootlooping...
Please guys, is there anything I can do to return my phone to normal?
(My problem seems to be exactly the same with R4DK0)

After power off device, connect it first with usb cable and then push VOL+ and VOL- and the power buttons
For me it didn't work :/
It just keeps returning in the Pink Screen, like it did with the battery :/
I think I will solve my problem by using my warranty...For now they accepted my phone, they said I will get it back approx. in two weeks. Until then, I dont have a phone
edit:
@nasos95
I am kinda glad, I am not the only one...and yes, no matter what you do, the only thing that "works" is the pink screen and the bootloop. I have all my older files backup up and replacing it, did not help.
I am very unlucky then....I bought my phone ONLY 2 months ago, but from the shop I bought (as it is second-hand) I suppose it doesn't come with a warranty...I am left without a mobile device... TT.TT
Thank you very much Huawei for the detailed file information u give, and the "warnings" that you SHOULD have put, but are nowhere to be found....
Congratulations...
Hi, i might just have bricked a friends U8800 pro, i d/l the official ics update and copied to the SD the step 1 app, so it could star the update as mentioned on the instructions, on the reboot, the update failed, nothing worked... so i had to remove battery.
Now i cant enter even pink screen (vol +- and power) its only black all the time....
Is there something i can do or ????????
ps.
The phone is not rooted, its brand new.
As it is brand new I suggest returning it immediately and simply buying it again - and for the future: Please explain to your friend how to update the phone but do not do it yourself. You do not want to be responsible for whatever might go wrong.
XphX
I wasn't expecting anything like that, i have 2 X5 (not pro) with so many different roms and stuff that felt so sure for the official... and still i cant understand why it doesn't even go to pink screen or something... odd

Would be nice, but cant even get to pink screen
you can try to put the contents of the zip in the dload folder on sdcard(delete everything else there) and try to start on update mode.
isnt update mode the same as pink ? vol + and pwr
nothing starts there also, vol+ pwr, vol+- pwr, nothing, all black
No, they are not the same(they activated with same key compination though).
Try without the battery and connected with usb cable before power on the device with the key combinatation.
something similar happened to me when i was updating x5 to gingerbread what i did to resolve it was remove the battery out connect the usb cable to the phone (from the laptop) and let it start by itself. it did kind of a soft reset and everything was fine later. I'm not sure if it'll work for you but its worth a try.
Pitch black.... guess total bricked ...

Download the froyo image folder from here: http://www.mediafire.com/?b3qkwulqemswxfq (thanks to gkalenis).
Then power off your phone, pull of the battery, insert it again and press volume up, volume down and power button at the same time until you see a pink screen on your phone. Connect it to pc.
Now your pc recognises a new drive with a folder named image.
You have to replace this folder with the one you downloaded before.
Unplug usb, pull off the battery, insert it again and power up your device.

ok
I had the official rom froyo 2.2.2, I download an official rom (2.3) from the official website, but I can't updating my phone because it stopped in the half of the progress bar with a failed error, I tried many time but the same error, so I search in google and I find that I have to wipe data, wipe system, wipe cash and to wipe boot, and then I restart the operation of updating, but it stop in the same position with the same error, and after that the phone wouldn't startup and it don't respond to any command (power+ volume up and/or down ...) and the pc can't detect it.
I think that the problem is the boot but I can't fix it

Once it happend to me. If it is not booting and there is no huawei logo, you have to change the motherboard. If there is Huawei logo you are luckey enough, do the update without battery. A bad flash vanish my huawei logo. I approch the serivec center, and the motherboard has been replaced. So check once if there is huawei logo on screen and do the same update with dload folder without attery

Ok, that's good explanation.
You brick your phone.
As you cannot see huawei's flower or anything then you brick it.
Go to service , you don't have any other option right now.
And please after you get back your phone, DO NOT DO ANYTHING, before ask first.
You follow a completely wrong procedure, so when you get your phone back from service, everyone in this forum can help you on anything you want to do, but now you cannot do anything, sorry ...

Hey there,
i have exactly the same phone and Problem as the OP, so i tried to flash as you suggested.
I tried to put the Original Firmware on my device using the version from this link: https://forum.xda-developers.com/hu...huawei-p9-lite-firmware-compilations-t3517124
I just have to create the "dload" folder on my fat32 SD-Card and put the UPDATE.APP in it, right?
Well, i tried that and it still says "Your device is booting now...".
Is there anything i can try to get it working in any way again?
Thanks

about one and a half years and sadly i cant use huaweiVIP, i think i have an account, but i only have a P9 lite, wich doesnt count.
Also if you unlock your bootloader, you arent covered by warranty anyway.
Does anyone have an idea why i cant get to the 3 button flash thingy nor fastboot?
I'm in dire need of immediate assistance. I had previosly rooted my phone with this guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p9lite/how-to/guide-unlock-bootloader-twrp-root-t3405701 and unlocked the bootloader. Long story short I made the decision to unroot and lock the booloader. Now im faced with a bootloop and this error message: https://imgur.com/a/ksz1kYY
I can't afford to lose this phone. If someone can help me recover this phone I can even throw in an extra 20$. The phone isn't recognised by pc and thus I cant run adb commands.
Sadly due to huawei becoming the new apple, you can't do anything to restore it, unless you pay for a new motherboard.
If you are lucky enough, drain the battery until the phone no longer boots then charge it. You will have a very small chance for the device to boot and from there unlock the bootloader. If it can't boot up, then try it many times until it no longer boots in error mode.
The error means that the recovery mode cannot check if the device is valid or not, thus locking the device from unwanted access. I hope you get it fixed

I took my phone to a repair shop and I just got it back from there. They said that the phone just turned on like regular, and it appeared to be working so they didn't charge me for a repair. I rebooted to check if they actually had done anything but the error came up once more. I guess the battery had run out and it turned on when they charged it? If I run out the battery again and charge it will it turn on again? If so, what should I do once I'm able to boot? I still can't access the recovery from there to try anything.
EDIT: I'm waiting for the phone to run out of battery again

I've tried several times now to let it run out of battery and try to boot it into fastboot, but every time I'm unsuccessful and it boots up regularly. I've tried holding power + vol- and power + vol- + vol+ and every combination of those. Not sure how to proceed since running adb command -adb reboot bootloader but that just ends up getting me to the same error screen. I don't know what I can do. Is it possible to flash the stock recovery and rom without fastboot?

Do not use adb or anything else.
Use firmware finder from Google play. Huawei has it's own eRecovery which is used for updates (OTA), so you shouldn't worry.
If you want to flash stock recovery, simply extract the update file and get the recovery.img, then flash it. It's a long method and hard to explain. Google it. Success

You mean *#*#2846579#*#* ? It brings up a selection but the one ending in *#*# dorsn't. Software upgrade option said that it didn't find an update file. The factory reset option tries to reboot and then the error shows up again.
I got software upgrade to recognize the file but when I tried to update it just reboots back into error mode.
It's hard for me to explain how to fix it. Idk why it doesn't work to you. Have you tried going to a service and ask them to fix it for you?

If you have the warranty tell them you got a bad update and it will fix them for free (there were cases where you would get bad updates via OTA, so you are covered)
If not, then a third party store but you will have to pay cash
