When i go to avatar Marketplace an click on an item (not the free ones) it tells me:
Purchase not available
If the Parental Settings for Xbox LIVE membership allow you to make purchases, you can buy this content using your Xbox 360 console.
But i don't have an Xbox 360 console. How can i buy it directly from my Windows Phone?
try going to xbox.com and logging in with your credentials, you should be able to set parental controls from there.

What are some of the more interesting things I can do with a PPC phone? Something like the Remote Desktop, which I've had a lot of fun with. I have a blog hosted on Livingdot, can I remotely maintain and update my site, etc. Just looking for some creative applications
I had a nice guitaru tuner on mine for awhile... it had additional features not found on your average cheapo digital tuner.
I've used mine with real-time chat programs that let me real-time chat on Yahoo, MSN, and AOL.
I haven't tethered mine to my notebook yet, but that would be an easy way to provide yourself a data connection for a notebook pc while on the go (provided you have an unlimited data plan like I do).
I keep Google Maps installed on it, and Opera's latest web browser for Pocket PC phone edition. I use the latter for superpages.com to get addresses, and the former Maps program to find the location of those adresses. Not a GPS but the next best thing.
WM5torage is a great app if you want to listen to your music on your xbox 360!
Picked mine up a few days ago and I love it. The only thing I'm having trouble finding an app for is the following: an app that turns the tablet into a keyboard/mouse for my HTPC. The catch is that I need something that will connect and work at the Windows login screen. Unified Remote doesn't work until you're logged in. I already have UltraVNC setup on the HTPC, and my wife's Ipad has an app called Touchpad that works at the login screen, but I haven't found one on Android yet. I tried a couple straight up VNC clients, including Jump Desktop, these appear to be "viewers", so they clone the desktop screen on my N7. I don't want that, because it gets all laggy when I go to play a movie or something on the TV.
Anybody have an app to recommend?
PS - the reason I need it to work from the login screen is because during the day at work I remote into the machine with my "normal" account for email/browsing, and I keep normal Win7 settings. When I get home, I login to my "HTPC" account, which is optimized with larger text, media center, xbmc, etc. If this is a dumb reason with a better solution let me know that too.

Okay so on another forum I was told to use Unified Remote, but set a task in the task scheduler to start the unified remote server on machine startup, and give it admin credentials. I tried this to no avail. The app says it is connected while at the login screen, but doesn't work until I'm logged in.
Is the issue that the unified remote server isn't built in a manner that windows will allow it access when not logged in? If so, does that mean I need an android app that runs off of UltraVNC?
I did a search and couldn't find what I was looking for hence the new post.
Basically I want to be able to stream my media to my phone from my home PC. Also I want the ability to stream media over the internet via my cellular data connection too when required. Similar stuff to what Air Video does on iPhone.
One of you recommended me ES File Explorer but this relies on a static IP address for my computer serving the media which I don't want to set up.
Any way of doing it using the computer name?
Have you tried Plex ??
No Static IP, or Computer Name Required...
You install the Plex Server on your Computer (Make sure you download the SERVER, and not the Media Center)
Install, tell the Server where to find you files (Music and/or Videos) and it will start loggin them all (even download posters/album art)
Then you install the Plex Android app on your phone (This Cost a few $ via the Play Store)
Sign up for a Free myPlex account, then Sign into it via the Plex Server, and the Android App... then all of your media is available locally or over the internet...
Plex will even stream to a PS3 (or any DLNA enabled Device)
The few $ for the Android App is work it. Plex works way better than most of the free alternatives (I think there are like 2) and Plex also Transcodes videos so you don't have to worry about format problems..
Although I use DicePlayer so it handles pretty much all videos

No... not without some service for dynamic DNS management.
How often is your ip address changed by your provider? Mine rarely changes and I simply have Tasker check it every time I leave the house and stuff the value into a global. Of course, if you are on the road for long periods of time when your ip might be changed... that won't help. If this is your case you will need a server side process like the aforementioned Plex, or more simply, an account with a service like DynDNS.org. I prefer the latter as I want more access to my server (VNC, full file access, and connection to a home built http server for home automation) than Plex would allow.
You could also cron a shell script to get the current address periodically and send you a message if it changes, of course you would have to manually set the ip in ES File Explorer (or other client) when that address changes. In my case, it simply does not happen often enough for me to need set up any of this.
Try ghostcommander. You can just enter your computer name login and password. Easy peasy.

That's on a LAN, right?
Qloud is one of the best apps I've used for streaming video and music. The music player could be better but the video player can play any file format and it is an awesome app. Check it out in the play store they have a free version so you can test it out before you buy.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
I've tried Qloud already but had no luck with getting it to work.
Plex sounds pretty good actually. I just want to try before I buy it though.
i have a SGS4 I9500 and i want to install the milk music.
i installed the app "hola" and selected usa.
the milk music player says: "error connection: Milk Music is not available in your current location".
what should i do?
thanks
Grab yourself a VPN. I use astrill and Milk works a treat when I connect to a US network. I use a paid vpn service but there are free ones around.

Here's how I got it working:
- Use Astrill VPN (you have 7 days trial). There's an app for android, ios, windows, mac. Set the Stealth VPN options to Reliable (TCP) instead of default Fast (UDP).
- Use the app Fake GPS location to emulate that you are in the U.S. You need Mock Locations allowed in developer options.
hi there i need a vpn app like hotspot shield or betternet app available for android , ios etc .. is there any free vpn app available for windows phone 8/ 8.1 ??
In addition to having built-in support for a few kind of VPN (assuming you have, or can set up, a server), there are also many apps to help you connect through a VPN. I think all the apps are free, though an account on the VPN server might not be.
You can search the WP store online. For example, http://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/search?q=vpn
