hi there i need a vpn app like hotspot shield or betternet app available for android , ios etc .. is there any free vpn app available for windows phone 8/ 8.1 ??
In addition to having built-in support for a few kind of VPN (assuming you have, or can set up, a server), there are also many apps to help you connect through a VPN. I think all the apps are free, though an account on the VPN server might not be.
You can search the WP store online. For example, http://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/search?q=vpn

My phone is really like a small computer (HTC Advantage x7510) and I would really like to be able to connect it to my company's corporate VPN. A typical windows/mac/linux client connects with Cisco's AnyConnect software, and while Cisco released a version of AnyConnect with the iPhone, they didn't for Windows Mobile 6.1. The problem as I understand it is that Windows Mobile natively supports PPTP and L2TP/IPSec connections while the Cisco implementation wants pure IPSec. The authentication scheme that we use is certificate based and then user/pass based. I created a user certificate on my desktop and then exported it to a .pfx (PKCS #12 Container) file and then imported it on my mobile device.
I have tried The Green Bow, but I have been unable to get this to work... The app seems rather buggy and I can't even save off the log properly to find out why it isn't working.

Bluefire seemed like it would do the trick, but after I tell it what Certificate to use and click Finish, it tosses out an error: "An internal error has occurred while processing your request. Please contact the system administrator". It appears that Bluefire Security has disappeared, at least from the web.
Anatha VPN seemed like it would be an option, however the UI seems buggy because I can't get the dropdowns to work in the configuration (using any DPI setting in realvga). Either the Gateway dropdown or the Gateway Type dropdown do not work... it varies.

Does anyone have a solution? Free or commercial... doesn't matter.
Latest version of NCP VPN works very very well for Cisco IPSec, you can download a trial version which is valid for a few days. not buggy, but commercial....

I am not sure who told you there wasn't a Windows Mobile version of the Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client because there is. There are Windows versions, Intel & PowerPC Mac OS X versions, Linux versions and Windows Mobile 5/6 versions available. I can't however see an iPhone version.
The current version for all platforms is 2.3.0254. The release notes are here:

AnyConnect VPN Client is available for WM Pro, but it does not support IPSec...
The Anyconnect from Cisco doesnt work with the concentrators.

No it doesn't. The 3000 series concentrators have been EOL for a while. The AnyConnect client is for use with IOS Routers and ASA Firewalls (plus the PIX but this is EOL as well). You can use the native L2TP/IPSec client in WM5/6 with the 3000 Concentrator though (as you can with IOS & the ASA).

We have a trial mobile agent setup and I have anyconnect installed and configured on my phone. I am able to establish a VPN over HSPDA and I can hit internal web pages via IE, but I am unable to RDP or SSH anywhere. Is anyone using anyconnect and able to do these things?

I know this is really old, but I was looking for some ipsec stuff for home. However I do use AnyConnect for SSL work vpn and I can RDP and SSH just fine.
The AnyConnect SSL Mobile client works great with the ASA 5500's. Does anyone know what it takes to fool the router into thinking a mobile device is not VPN'ing in? You need a Windows Mobile AnyConnect license installed to make the Windows Mobile client connect. We do not own any at the moment and I'm eager to see it work.
Ok I've got my ASA 5510 working perfectly using Windows Mobile and Bluefire IPSec vpn. We normally run SSL Vpn but keep Ipsec open for site to site VPN as well as mobile VPN. I got a quote on Cisco SSL AnyConnect mobile licenses on the firewall and they are $100 a pop. But if you're looking for a great IpSec client that works go with Bluefire...
Is there any VPN client for windows mobile6.5?
I cannot use openvpn on my phone, cuz I only have ca.crt, username and password.
I want to view twitter, but the Chinese government forbid it.
So,I wish a VPN client for wm6.5 and just like on android, type in username, password and the server.
Any idea?
Many thanks.
Windows Mobile VPN Service
Hi,
I Used this service maybe it will provide your desire windows mobile vpn services.

I want to set up a VPN at home that my xoom can access. I tried a simple PPTP with dd-wrt but I can't seem to access or ping anything, even though it connects. I want to do this so I don't have to forward SSH, RDP, and other ports that expose my stuff to the outside world.
At home I am running a DD-WRT gateway with a linux server as well as a Windows Server 2008 VM behind the gateway, any could host the VPN service.
I don't need instructions on how to set up the VPN, but advice on what is compatible with android's built in VPN support.
Thanks in advance for any input.
Sent from my Xoom using XDA Premium App
The windows vpn service works fine for me
I was under the impression I needed to set up a domain to use the included windows VPN service, and I wasn't looking to set up a domain.
Is this an incorrect assumption?

Here's a link to getting OpenVPN working. Must admit it looks like it's not for everyone.

That was not necessary for me. If it is a requirement, it is specific to Windows Server edition
I have a Windows PPTP VPN that my Xoom can connect to. You do not need to set up a domain.
Unfortunately there is a bug in Android that makes it lose connection to the VPN after a few minutes/seconds.
See here:

I just bypass androids native VPN and use Neo Router free. Available in the market. You just set up a Neo server on the computer you want to control and use the android app to open an encrypted connection to that computer. You can set up the app to forward any ports to the computer running the server. Works well. Right now im running splashtop remote and plex using it so i dont have to port forward the ports for those apps in my router.
Thanks for all the input. I am working on OpenVPN. I almost have it working (I already have my router set up for OpenVPN, just didn't know I could use it).
is wp8 will support VPN ... ???
Yes. I use VPN on my Win8 PC and the test tablet at my work. PPTP/SSTP/ICMP all work.
Haven't tried OpenVPN but should work no issues.

I use Shrew VPN....is free and support .pcf files
SInce I use HideIPVPN as my provider I have checked their Windows software yesaterday under W8 Release Preview.
Worked (desktop mode only) exactly as in Win 7.
Log in, choose server from you package - connect.
Netflix and Hulu worked without any problems under Chrome both in Modern UI and Desktop mode (tested only PPTP VPNprotocol but I do not see a reason for L2TP or SSTP not to work).
So, nor problems with VPN and Win 8.
This means I only need VPN on WP8 system as well + Market Enabler (as in Android) and it Christmas for me
+Hey guys

I dont see any reason why it should not work.
I can test it over the weekend when I reconnect HDD with W8 onboard
HSS works.. but not for the metro apps.
Because HSS only works for browsers as far as I know.
This is why I use VPN - all traffic, regardless of program creating it is directed to VPN server.
This means that I can use Spotify in Poland or watch Netflix on my iPad .
I have checked with W8 and both Chrome and IE in Modern UI mode use VPN as well (they got no choice).
I have read yesterday that WP8 will not support VPN but Secure SSL to access company servers - does any one know it this protocol can be used to change IP of a device? I suppose VPN servers would have to have additional software active to support this kind of connection...
I'm trying to setup my Nexus 6P to use the built in VPN 'client' but I can't seem to connect it with any VPN websites that I use.
I would like to stay away from any third party apps (like openVPN etc)
Where can I find a VPN service that will be compatible with the built VPN? I usually use a VPN connection in Japan.
Thank you for your help
