any developers out there want to get down and dirty to work on sense 3.5? after the recent events on T-N and kings childish ways there are alot of people wanting to see some development on this ROM.. so if there are any developers out there who aren't afraid to get dirty and actually wanna work on the project, send me a PM or feel free to email me @ [email protected]
Please dont send me messages about this being in the wrong section, after all this is a general discussion
I will personally donate enough to buy the first few knowledgeable developers who sign on a case of beer or sodas or energy drinks, or coffee... whatever suits Your fancy
Rules: the rules are simple
1. know what you are doing
2. have some experience modding the Android OS
3. no complaining, everyone will receive credit where it is due
4. this project is open to the public as long as you can work together as a team, if there are any issues that can not be resolved the project will be pulled from development...again

I was wanting to run the damage control 2.0.9.1 rom with the oc'd kernal already in place. I may be capable of doing the job myself but I really don't feel like destroying my devices. If this is something other users would like to see join my request!! If someone decides to accept the challenge feel free to throw in the normal goodies and apps. I don't want to be needy I'm just surprised that no one has released an oc'd damage control rom yet. Thanks in advance! Also thanks a million to the developers and the community for making this such an amazing forum.

This has nothing to do with Dev. You need this in general. Plus, I'm pretty sure what you want has already been done. Try searching first.
Not that hard to just flash this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=690238 after flashing DC2.09....that's how I did it and I have [email protected] running breezy.
Moved as not Android Development.
If you still want it
I have built one for personal use, PM me for a link
PONGSTER's Ultimate Build - A build appreciating the donors
Because of the XDA Rules [which we respect] PONGSTER is not allowed to release the ultimate build to the donors of his build. XDA does not allow any build given/released after payment.
Its a request to the MOD's askin to allow him to release his ultimate build for the donors, he's not forcing anyone to DONATE so I don't think that's an issue nor he's violating XDA rules..!!!
XDA also works on DONATIONS & the DONORS are assigned with a star on their profile, that is a way of showing appreciation by the website, so why is a CHEF not allowed to show his appreciation to his donors via s special build for them[when it has no WAREZ stuff]..???
I would request our fellow mates on this forum to give their perspective/opinion about this.
Please do add your opinion on this thread
I haven't donated but I believe this should be allowed.

It's not fair to all the other developers involved. He was able to create his build, thanks to so many others.
I said Its not fair simply because, he is the only dev doing those stuff in those forums. Didn't you see how madeejay works really hard and he does not do that nor ask for donation? The donor builds are just updated nightlies with some tweaks, I can either use the regular updated builds by mithcyprime or atoore. They both work pretty nice and updated regularly. True that he does not force anyone to donate but hey? He rarely updates his free builds, He always gives the donors more updates so the non-donors get jealous and then they decide to donate to get the donor build. There is more respected devs that NEVER make private builds or donor builds like darkstone or shu8i. Both of their builds were perfect and they were around way before pongstar.... I do respect pongstar's hard work tho, he works hard just like any other dev but he is nor right to distribute his builds..
Without XDa, there wouldn't be android on htc hd2. Without pongstar, theres is always another dev...
We have been in private conversations with the developer/chef and our position is known to him. It is regrettable that individuals who do not know the full facts of the case feel they have to post up in this way.
Any issues will be addressed directly between the developer/chef and the XDA moderating team.

EDIT, 12/12/10:
It looks like there is a ton of desire here and drive to get some major work accomplished. I just spoke with ferman via PM regarding the future of this project. I wanted to throw the idea out there, and I want to be a part of it, but I am (obviously) in no way equipped to lead such an effort. As I told him, I am much more the monkey-behind-the-keyboard writing code than the project manager at this point, and would happily contribute to any group that desires to further the Captivate's development.
So, without further ado, I hand the reins over to ferman and anyone else that congeals together as communal guidance. I'll be happy just to contribute code.
I thank everyone for their patience while I haven't been here to answer anyone's questions or even acknowledge everyone's involvement. Once I am done with release season at work, I only hope there's still room on the team for another monkey behind a keyboard!
I struggled with whether to post this in "General" or "Development" - I settled on "Development" as it is regarding, well...development.
If enough people are interested, I'd like to start the group development of a ROM, tentatively named "QAM". Cornerstones of QAM? No donations accepted, except for git submissions ("Free and In the Clear" - get it?); group development with specialization based on the team members' skill sets; widely accesible code with an emphasis on sound open source development practices; and clearly documented, well tested changes and updates.
With all of the drama here recently, especially regarding Axura, I think it's time that some of us try to steer this place back to what it used to be.
I'm an enterprise dev in my nine to five. As many have voiced, I have no doubts about my ability to develop a nice ROM for my own personal use. But I value my time, recognize that I am not as efficient in some areas (UI and UX, for instance), and understand from my professional life how much better of a result can be achieved when you've got a diversified team developing together.
Anyone that is a fan of Agile Development Practices will know where I am coming from. If anyone is interested in working together, let's start a dialogue here and now. If you're merely interested in flaming and thread crapping, move along - this isn't the thread you're looking for.
[EDIT - 12/06/10, 8:51PM] Posted an update within the thread. I didn't anticipate this much interest, but I'm glad it's there. I'm going to go through the thread tonight and start assembling names, etc.
i'm interested, but i dont really have any skills in relation to creating a rom or anything of the like. but if can help let me know!
Intresting...

I would like to offer my services. I loved supporting the Axura users and would love to support yours. I have a little programming experience, I mainly deal with ISS day in and day out though. Let me know what you think. I really think this could turn into something great!

Sounds great. Even though I font know much about development myself, I would love yo help somehow(maybe I could be one of those highly cautious/thorough testers you were talking about).

Sounds interesting. I'm interested in at least testing for you guys. I'd love to start coding for Android (BSc in Computer Science, but enjoy coding every once in a blue moon), but never got around to learning. I'll def keep my eye on this thread though, and help where I can
@OP:
Think this is an amazing idea! Definitely can see a lot come from this.
Idea though: you should maybe put up some slots to be filled so we can get some development teams, focused on their own individual part of the rom, together, so we know for sure that this will be great.
The most I can help with is being the app-writer-assistant XD.
I have yet to see a rom with its own app(s)(not counting DG's lbs launch) and I would love to see one with its own music player, notes, messaging, etc. I'm not experienced at all, i just know some java and I'm still learning android developtment(i got 3 big books next to me right now).
In fact I wouldn't be offended at all if you just say "no, thank you". I just really like the idea and I thought that if i proposed this it would at least give some initiative to develop custom apps with the custom roms and make this project that much more...unique
i'd like to see and participate in some REAL developement. A lot of these "devs" (especially the ones complaining) arent doing much developement and instead are just piecing together different things REAL devs have created into these roms and then trying to extort "donations" out of people. There's a select few developers frontlining the kernel developement that are doing real, good work.
imagine if we had multiple people creating roms like cyanogenmod on here...
I would be interested. I have done some android programming as well as some Other stuff. Never did any rom development but would like to give it a shot

I can do 'modem testing'.. I travel for a living and encounter the various Freq's, EDGE, 3G, and believe it or not the pre EDGE network (cant think of the name at the moment, long day) almost every day.
Hey I wouldn't be much help in terms of development but I am willing to test anything you guys build

This is exactly the sort of thing this thread and concept will help avoid. The Rom builders that are causing drama do alot of work. And we all benefit. Even if they are getting more traffic and donations than the ones doing the kernel and other mods and making them available for the Rom and kernel builders.
I don't mind seeing a little competition in the thread titles. And each dev has an opinion as to what's best and thus we have several different roms. But the bickering I've seen is ridiculous. But understandable. There are no rules in place. No required donation. No licensing on much of what's up. Its a bit of a mess.
Id love to see what a captivate oriented community effort will produce. Team whisky is great but not all that works on the vibrant works on the captivate.

is this like the android syndicate in epic4G threads lol?
I'm in, PM me
i'm willing to flash as many iterations of this as you may develop. no technical expertise on my end though ...
I can test and am willing to learn any thing that will help with developing. I have strong computer background. Just new to android.

im in for testing
Note: This is NOT a place holder thread. It's just an official announcment.
Hey everyone. The source for Android N is released, and my friend, @Gustavo RD78 is currently busy on developing the Android Nougat Kernel for the Xperia Z2. He has already developed an awesome working Android N kernel for the Z3C, along with Android N FOR the Xperia Z3C. This kernel is currently under development, and if we can get this kernel working on our loved Z2, then we can all have a working Android Nougat ROM for our beloved Z2.
We currently also need kernel and ROM testers before we actually release it, to make sure there are minimal bugs in the kernel/ROM. To have access to this you must first read through the rules here down below...
1: I, and no one except YOU, is responsible for bricking your device if something goes wrong. Always make a backup. You should be responsible for YOUR actions, so be aware of that.
2: This is for BETA testers ONLY! Expect digital bugs crawling all over your Z2 screen! Be also very aware of that as well.
3: You must swear not to mirror or publicly share this ROM. Not only will others have to suffer with bugs and some occasional bricking, but all the blame will be placed on YOU.
4: You must help us out with at least one thing before we send you the link. (More info down below.)
5: You must follow these rules accordingly and honestly. Don't be rude to us if anything happens to YOUR device. Thank you for reading.
More info on getting Private BETA links...
To have access to the ROM/Kernel beta links, you have to PM me and not only beg for a link, but also promise at least one thing that you will help us out with, like Mirroring the ROM to a different website, or fixing a bug that may appear. All people doing this will be set onto a waiting list. Once we get too much people helping us with the same thing, like multiple people wanting to mirror to a certain link, then we will have to ask you to change your help to something else. Once link is set and ready to go, you will get a PM or Email to the Beta folder's link. If you prefer to be emailed the link, then just please include your email in the Beta test request PM, along with the sentence: "I prefer to be emailed via (insert email here.)" If you are not sent a link, then check down below if I sent the link already or not. If it says down below in this OP: "Status: Link sent to beta testers," and have not yet have gotten your link, then please contact me as soon as possible. Down below is a list of stuff that is already planned by people and not needed from others anymore.
Status: Kernel Under Development
Spots already taken and not needed:
-Mirroring to Google Drive.
-Mirroring to MEGA.
-Mirroring to Dropbox.
Thanks for reading all of this info and reading this announcement. Together we can all make Nougat a dream come true!
Nice start guys, but i can't send you a PM , lol... is there any problem or it's just my browser ...

Can't wait to get my fingers typing and coding away!
I have sent a PM for this amazing opportunity to work with you and your team. Can't wait for the work to start!
Best of wishes and I hope to get access to the links!
Regards,
Mohamed
I have a question are you and your team also working on D6502 model???
If not can i ask please please do it???
Thanks
@Brandon Nel
This not good news at all, but my phone wont charge (unless I use magnetic) and won't send any data or receive data, I know that this is quite a let down! I originally had a charging port that had become faulty over time, so I bought a new one and soldered it on, but is not working the way it should ! I can still mirror the links and do some other things when they come up. Once again, I am so sorry for the letdown. Until I buy a new motherboard I cannot start any testing or debugging!
Hope you understand!
Regards,
Mohamed

Hey and Hello Folks, it's been a while since my last Post on the Nexus 6 Forums...
Maybe there are some People left who remembers who i'am, but this isn't Important yet!
I'm just creating something new and get some help with it from a advanced Developer which is well known to some of You.
What i want now? I want a Team! Someone who helps me to stay cool if it gets hard. Someone who helps to create and test Things with Me...
I don't want to say what it is now (CopyCats everywhere), but i'm excited about it and it goes Cross Device Supporting in the Future if all goes right...
I'm searching specially for Themers and People which are advanced with Modifying ROMs or Sources...
A Name for this Project is already selected and the Plan is to follow My Plan. If You're interested and worthy to trust, i will tell You what i want to do and You can decide if You want to Join. But this here is TOP-SECRET and i want to Release it with a Big Bang and without any Public Infos before...
We can use the Thread if You want, but Infos about the Project get shared only over PM or Hangouts/Allo! Peace Y'all
Push
If you're still looking for someone, I might be interested. This reply is my first post on XDA in the longest time, but I used to be very involved in the ROM, kernel, and theme scene. I've also recently begun building apps. I know my way around the source code, and the Java and xml inside the apk's, so I know I could be of some help with the theming at the very least.
This kind of project may just be enough to pull me out of "retirement", so please, feel free to contact me if you'd like. You can PM me here, and we can set up a Hangouts chat or something.
