I just started using my USA Verizon Branded HTC Trophy currently running os 7.07389.0 Can this be upgraded dirrectly to Mango 7720 RTM?
If so I have downloaded the 7720.rar file and everything seems to be there, zune beta. NoDoToRC, RCToRTM and the german installation doc.
What so I need to know and are there any special instruction to perform the upgrade? or...
Should I just wait for Verizon to push out the upgrade but who knows when?
Thanks
Steven
you can grab the rom from here. all you really have to do is plug the phone in and close the zune software. turn your phone off. while holding the "volume down" button, turn on the phone. let windows install the drivers. after it finishes, run the RUU. after its done your phone will be like you just took it out the box. you have to do the initial set up.
is this the one I need for my trophy?

both firmware and radio keep the same
:/
Nothing on my debranded Trophy :/.
Nothing on my Trophy :-(
I tried it with the registry unbranding method. But unfortunately no Update yet.
1. Start Zune
2. Turn off Data connection and Wifi on the Phone
3. Connect the Phone with the PC (USB)
4. Start the update search in Zune
5. About 3-8 seconds later, disconnect your PC from the internet (Turn WLAN/LAN off).
6. Zune finds NoDo-Update.
7. Connect to the internet again and install the update.
NoDo Update
Hi All,
UK Vodafone NoDo update is now available, updating my phone now
Hello all, flashed dft version of wf7 to my hd2 and my phone keeps saying update available but when I hook up to my PC it shows as if it's updating but stalls and says registry error and won't complete....downloaded registry editor but didn't know how to use it.....any suggestions ?????
You can´t update
Hi!
You can´t update the HD2 with Zune because it´s not a native WP7 phone. Just uncheck the two boxes in phone update on your phone. And when you sync with Zune just ignore the update window (press update later). You can brick your device if you proceed......
Wait for DFT team to release the new port of the NODO update, OK?
I´ll give you a tip and that is to read the stickies first ;-)

Then I boot up my phone and a Picture of a phone Pops up with a usb saying connect to your PC (It didnt really say it.. you know what I mean) So. I plugged it in to my PC again and it said to restore it... So I said ok and I got the same Error 801812E0 Now I cannot use my phone Please will someone help me.
Also I am only 15. My Parents will be very pissed if they found out what happened.. but I need to get this working ASAP.. I cannot call ATT Ive tried everything.. Please someone respond
I think you should reflash your phone in order to get it work.
Go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=943714 and download your compatible rom, then reboot it into bootloader (Power + Volume Down), connect to PC, and reflash ^^
Hope it help
Thank you for your concern, but How am I supposed to figure out what type of ROM I need if I have no access to my phone to see? Haha

Use the Cingular ROM. I flashed my Surround from AT&T and it went OK, the ROM reverted to 7004. After that you can unlock your phone using ChevronWP7, use the fix to prevent it from re-locking again and then update to NoDo.
The rapidshare link from Ansar's post is down. I uploaded the Cingluar ROM to multiupload so you can fix your phone. Download it.
The instructions to flash your phone are as follow:
1. Unzip your downloaded *.zip file in a separate folder
2. Press and hold power-on/off button to power-off the phone
3. Press and hold volume-down button and then press power-on/off button to enter bootloader mode
4. When your phone enters the tricolor screen bootloader mode, release volume-down button
5. Connect your phone to your windows 7/vista/xp pc/laptop with a usb cable
6. Verify that your phone will be identified and relevant drivers will be installed by windows os of your pc/laptop
7. After completion of (6.) above, check the usb message connection on your phone screen
8. To flash the new ROM go to your pc/laptop folder of (1.) above
9. Double click on the ROMUpdateUtility.exe file and strictly follow the instructions on your pc/laptop screen

Please remember not to interrupt the flashing process! Do not disconnect the phone or play with it while it's being flashed. Try avoid using your computer at all and close all other applications before starting.

I'm pretty much a noob too, I just learnt a thing or two in the past few weeks
You will have no problems at all with your carrier if you flash your AT&T phone using the Cingular ROM. The SIM-lock will stay the same as it is (either locked or unlocked,) the phone will return to its factory settings.
Being restored to its factory settings will mean that you'll get the updates through Zune when AT&T decides it's time for you to get them. You can, however, unbrand your phone to receive the updates almost as soon as they're released. Remember that you'll need to "developer unlock" your phone before you can unbrand it.
I have my SIM-unlocked Surround on Movistar (Argentina carrier) and I can get the updates through Zune after unbranding it. No Chevron Updater or other hacks to get the updates.
Thank you guys for your help <3 I Actually just went and traded it in for another one If this happens again I will use this method Thank you much!
Recently I have updated the March update of Windows Phone and the process have stucked in 8 of 10 and the Zune have closed incorrectly and my Trophy have turn off and now I can't start it anymore. I press the power button and nothing happend.
Any help?
Thanks in advance.
any tips please?
Same problem, what did you do?
I wasn't able to start it anymore. any tips you guys?
Zune has made a backup of your system. go into the settings to restore
I have the same problem. I just updated my HTC Trophy to the latest version of from 4. January 2012 (v7.10.8107.79).
Before I updated my phone I had the version 7.10.7740.16 from 17. Nov. 2011.
No hacks, no jailbreak or anything else. It was just offical developer unlocked.
So, I started the update and it after the reboot on step 9 of 10 it started vibrating 7 times in a row. After that it was just hanging on the HTC logo boot screen. After an hour or so I disconnected the phone and removed the battery. When I start the phone I got always those 7 short virations and it hangs on the logo screen.
I tried the hard reset as well without success.
Does anybody have an idea what I can do with my phone?
BTW: I made the update with my MacBook Pro but with a nativ windows installation on it.
Thanks in advanced.
What carrier is your Trophy on? You should attempt to flash the stock rom back onto it.
It's a Swisscom branded phone from Switzerland. But I use it atm anyway just as a test device without a SIM card.
How can I do that to flash the stock ROM on my phone? Do you have a link where I can get some instrutctions?
Thanks
EDIT:
I found this thread, I will try this to solve my problem. I'll let you know if it works.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1257986
You can also forgo trying to use that method and use the HSPL process to try a rom like DFT Freedom. It will let you do a lot of neat things a stock rom cannot do (like run Opera).
You would then download HTC Connection Setup and change the carrier settings to your carrier (so you would recieve SMS, etc).
I have an HTC Surround that I cant get to boot past htc logo and if i try to hard rest it goes to spl screen. Where can i get the software to reflash it. I also have another microsd that i can change out if that is bad
still working on
So I replaced the mirco sd and tried to do the restore using the power and volume buttons and still would not get it to try and boot more then a few secs and stop at the htc screen. I also flashed the stock att rom that I got off xda but still no luck. My last chance is trying a new battery today are there any more suggestions
My surround did the same thing recently. It's a problem surrounds have. Unfortunately you have tried the 3 most common solutions.
1: reflash with stock rom
2: Change out sd card
3: hard reset
The only way I know of to get a working one after you have tried those 3 things is hope it's under warranty. :-/

Where did you get that stock at&t rom? I've been all through the developer section and all I see are telus and cingular roms. I've got a phone from the shop that's stuck on the htc logo and replacing the sd card hasn't fixed it. I tried to flash a telus rom because hey what the hell do I have to lose but RUU wasn't able to establish an ActiveSync connection on the htc logo screen looping repeatedly. Is there a way to force it into a sort of download mode from the htc logo to do the flashing from?

Cingular is AT&T. I have flashed both of these ROMS to my AT&T Surround. Both work perfectly.

i'm guessing this should work:
C. Windows Phone 7 ROM Flashing Instructions
Do You still need help about this?
Basically you need to download DFT_RSPL_WP7FG2_LAUNCH from this forum, this will allow you to flash a custom rom. The ROM installed at the phone must be a NODO one because mango roms updates the loader and are not compatible.
For apply it you must put the phone on loader. Connect the phone to the usb, turn it off, turn it on but holding volume down key.
Once there you will see the 3 color screen and will say USB run the DFT_RSPL_WP7FG2_LAUNCH and follow the steps.
The phone will restart and showing again the 3 color screen but with HSPL now you can install DFT ROM. DFT ROM is basically a custom Windows Phone with the option to sideload apps you just run ROMUpdateUtility.exe from the DFT ROM downloaded and it will upgrade your OS to DFT Version.
Now what? SPL too high!
My brothers HTC surround has crashed, and fails to load the OS. i can get to the bootloader, but it's
spl-4.2.2250.1 (129185) MNG
i've got HSPL and RSPL, but they say DON'T TRY IF NOT 1.X SPL OR IF IT SAYS MNG. his says both. he was running mango, and i'm just trying to reinstall a stock rom. I'm wondering what advice any of you might have. I've reinstalled roms on Samsung devices, but not on an HTC, so i'm not sure what all this is about, or what the consequences are of proceeding. any help would be great.
Thanks dudes.
bump?
please?
Is it 1/2 bricked?
If you connect the device to a PC does it go to USB mode? At teh red blue green screen does it say USB at the bottom?
USB
It does display USB. If i leave it on for like an hour, eventually, i just discovered, windows DOES load, and it says "your memory is corrupt" it does connect to the computer, and it is detected by my pc, and it does display USB. I'm going to try to put in a new SD card, but i'm wondering once i do that, will i be able to flash the retail rom to it, with that spl.
thanks!
Check this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1597837.I believe you will have to downgrade your bootloader. I haven't tried this yet myself, I hope it helps you out.
