Hi im new to HTC Wildfire which i just rooted a few minutes ago. Should i use Openfire or WildPuzzleROM? I want a stable one with no errors that i could use. Any advices?
Two differnt roms. Main difference? One has the sense UI the other doesn't.
Just try them both and see which suits you the best.
Good Luck
That depends if you want sense or a none sense ROM. my advide is try out both a few days each and then decide
Market Problem
FAIL - Wrong Topic, Sorry
I've tried the OpenFire it works smoothly.. but when i tried the WildPuzzleROM , my contacts crashed and got into HTC reboot screen again. any help for this?
EDIT:Managed to get over with that screen and trying it out. testing out the difference
CyanogenMod
ermms sure can you get me the link for it? can't find it :X
All the roms are right here in the development forum...
Openfire or wildpuzzle you must try Cyanogen mod 6.1 because this is one real master...

As far as I know, cyanogenmod is still in beta. Before recomending it I think we should tell this to the topic starter.
Now regarding openfire vs wildpuzzle:
Because we don't know how "deep" you are in this, let me describe as that. Wildpuzzle looks much closer to the original rom, containing htc's sense interface,Widgets and some apps. It looks like it's there ready for everyday use right out of the box. On the other hand openfire has a cleaner approach waiting for you to set it up. It also works out of the box, but I think the approach for someone who wants to customize the installation before using it. You choose and go. Both are result of great work, covering different needs. I used both.
I hope I helped.

okie i've tried wildpuzzle for awhile and seems like openfire is smoother then the stock and wildpuzzle rom. So.... cyanogenmod i'll go test it out. cyanogenmod or openfire is better now? lols
There is no 'best rom'. There is only choice.
If you like the HTC Sense interface and its features, go WildPuzzle.
If you prefer snappiness, go for Openfire and Cyanogenmod (although WP also is a huge leap in speed compared to the stock ROM)
whit nand android is the best here. i have a eu version ?
there isn't 'a' best, every build had its own good and bad points.
Some builds are extremely fast, but less stable
Some have gingerbread, but lack 100% app support (some apps need to be updated to work with gingerbread)
Some have Sense, but less internal memory.
It's up to you to see what you want in a build, and try it out (and try it out for more than 10 seconds, since some builds get better over time, eg performance and battery)
So I can't give you any conclusive answer about 'the best build', it's a personal taste.
Also, wrong forum.

okey i will tray than
You could help by giving a suggestion or two!? It is overwhelming as a noob to see so many builds and hear you just have to try them all to figure out a good chef, at least we can offer a starting point. Mdj does great work! He has a rom for almost every persons taste try them out
You need to decide what you want.
When I wanted as close to stock as possible I used, and loved tytung's NexusHD2-Froyo. Since Gingerbread appeared I decided to try a CyanogenMod 7 build and opted for MDJ's CyanogenMod 7 which I now love.
You need to decide what you want yourself: Sense, Stock, CyanogenMod, Froyo, Gingerbread, etc? Those are just personal tastes, there is no best. After you narrow that down people could suggest their favorite ROM with those features.
Though again there is no real best ROM either, most cooks are very talented and produce exquisite work.
i will see what fast is for me better
In before mod locks. Try different builds, few are poor, many are good, some are excellent. Look at threads and see what suits you best. Every chef cooks differently.
Gingerbread
I'll tell you what i want is a stable gingerbread. I dont care so much about 100% app support but need stable G.P.S anyone no of one?
Thanks to any on who can help,
****edit****
Btw, does anyone know if there is a stable Gingerbread NAND with Sense already out?
I really like the HTC smart dialer and I haven't found similar smart dialer in other ROMS so far.
This is the wrong forum to be asking n00b questions.
thread reported.
So i was thinking of changin my rom to Cm7 just for android 2.3, is it laggy? dose it drain the battery more ?? Advice please
Im using CM7 and im loving it my battery seems to be better with cm7 running and its not laggy. However i did mess with the cpu settings and my battery died proper quick but now ive restored its all good again. Try it out and see if you like it
IMHO CM7 provides loads of additional features to the Buzz handset. O.k, as a custom rom it has bugs here and there but that's par for the course and most major ones get sorted. CM7 is the way forward ... there are new roms challenging the top spot but aren't quite there yet. You can always backup current rom and restore it if you don't get on with CM7 so no harm in trying it!
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA Premium App
As said above, I would say to give it a try. Take a Nandroid backup beforehand, and, if CM7 doesn't suit you, you can always get back to your backed up Stock ROM.
Its definitely worth switching though. I am extremely pleased with it.
Only bad thing about CM7 is the font size. It is extremely small that it looks pixelated and takes out the wow out of the UI.
HTC sense looks best IMO, only reason I root is to get app2SD. Thats it.
I always use stock ROMs. Sorting out the bugs itself is a big time eater. I hate it.
Wtf is wrong with the font size on CM7? It's the same for me and was the same on stock/wildpuzzle... and bugs? pfft lol, that's why you stick with the stable release.
Anyway it's your choice, if you're happy with sense/stock, stick with stock or wildpuzzle or the DK sense rom, if you don't like it and wanna try something new and has heaps of themes, get CM7.
Besides, Font Size can be increased as per your will in CM7.
stay with the stock rom, is better, CM7 allways have a lot of bugs

Most of the designs on CM7 are made for high resolution phones, Wildfire having a lower resolution doesn't look great. Post screen shots of your app-drawer, desktop so on.

Bugs are not enough reason to ditch an OS ?. One bug scares people away. Just one bug.
I am not a developer, just an average user. If you can't satisfy me, then you won't sell anything big. Unfortunately, its so.
I don't get orgasm about any new version of anything. I want things that work seamlessly. Changing versions without solving bugs won't help.

This was true, not any longer, after nhnt11 made the required changes to make CM7 look like it is supposed to on LDPI Devices.
Anyway, its unfortunate that CM didn't suit you, but that is exactly why I think all posts in this thread ask the OP to try out CM, No ROM is perfect, everyone knows this, but, a particular bug for someone may be no big deal to another person. It's all about preference. As for me, even I am an average user, not a dev, and, yes, I am not saying CM is bug free, but, for me, they are no deal breakers.
Who said anything about changing versions? I just said stick to the stable releases, not change whenever a new nightly is released, and if you want the bugs to be resolved, post it to the issue tracker, or tell the devs about the bugs and don't whine about it.
It will get fixed eventually, all you have to do is wait.

I spend money/time on something not to wait(spend more time) but to use it. You still don't seem to be able to understand the viewpoint of someone else. And haven't posted any screenshots. What else would be a way to compare ?
Stable release ?. The number of stable releases devs make kinda doesn't go with "stable" actually. There hasn't been a developer version of ROM without bugs.
I go for perfection, bugs just puts me off.
A guy asked which he should use Stock or CM7. And we gave our views from experience with both. As 3xeno said, its all about preferences.
Even this stock ROM has bugs, but chances are big that you will find some more on CM7, altough I've never worked on it. But the nice thing about it that on CM bugs will be fixed eventualy, whilest on stock ROM you're left alone with it..
Perhaps a first step is to go away from sense. I liked sense, but installed Homelauncher pro just to try, and I have found out that I liked it even more than sense. I am now in the stage where I gradualy change all the stock things on my ROM (for so far it is possible). So I know now that I ceryainly will change my ROM once I can.
So you really have to try: you don't realize what can get better unless you have seen other options. And if you are hesitating because of the 'big' step of changinf ROM, perhaps try to change some typic stock things. You will see for yourself if you want to go and see more of what other ROMs have to offer you.
Or that is at least my oppinion: as stated, I've always worked and am still working on the stock ROM.

Trying to pick a ROM. Anyone want to chime in?
InsertCoin_Vision Sense2.1 + 3.0 (v1.6.1) or CyanogenMod 7.1 on my Desire Z?
If I go CM7.1 does ANYONE know how to get a legit sense clock/weather widget. Not one of low-end ones from market.
Thanks!
This is just going to turn into another standard Sense vs. AOSP flame thread. Each person likes their own thing. There's no comparing of a Sense ROM to an AOSP ROM. They both have their strengths to different people. Try them both (make nandroid backups so you can switch) and see which you like better. They're both clearly very popular and you'll find people shouting on both sides that their ROM is better. It REALLY is personal choice. Don't let someone else tell you what to use.
Take a look at "Fancy Widget" in the market. They have some sense-like clock/weather/home widgets that are pretty nice.
Thanks, I appreciate the input. I only am asking for some user exp.
I had CM6 running on a Dream and it, aside from looking nice, was an epic disaster....
Hi guys,
I am constantly flashing ROMs in my N1 as I really like to try what's out there.
I tried some ICS roms in the past days (texasice and CM9) and they were really cool however they were a little laggy and had a few bugs, obviously they're still in test phase.
The point is no matter which ROMs I try I keep coming back to MIUI, this is one smooth, fast, stable rom in my opinion.
However one of the things that I don't love so much about MIUI is the fact that all apps go into the desktops, I kinda like the launchers in the other ROMs.
Does anyone here use MIUI and perhaps combine it with a nice launcher where all apps are piled? I'd like to have some opinions on that.
Thanks!
EDIT: I think I mean appdrawer by launcher!
