Kuyadroid VS Gingercruzt - XPERIA X8 General

Hi i am wondering.
a few people suggest KuyaDroid and a few suggest GingerCruzt
I am only after decent gameing.
Currently i run gingerdx v013 and game's such as NFS shift and PES 2011 run smoothly but i really want to try the Conflict sandstorm game out.
on GDX it get's to loading screen then reboot's phone..
a few people say different rom's give different gameing performance i am just wondering if this is true which one will be better to use/??
GingerCruzt or KuyaDroid
Thanks for your time

for me.. GingerCruzt.. after GDX v008 til now.. i still love GingerCruzt.. so smooth..and all my games work fast and no lag..

Are you sure that you have the ARMv6/Gingerbread version of that game?
Search for it on blackdroid (google it), download, install and check if it´s working.
if you did the following and it still doesn´t work, THEN you could maybe try another ROM.

GingercruZt for SE Ui
Kuyadroid lightweight
Still Gingercruzt have better apps compatibility

gingercruzt 7.4

Gingercruztzz tha best!

Just tried GingerCruzt this morning,
no overclocking option's and no dual touch so put GingerDx v013 back on.
i don't want to try any rom where you have to use CWM recovery.
that's the reason i have not yet updated to gingerDX v014
i asked the OP of the GingerCruzt 7.4 thread if i could use modules from DX for dual touch and OC'ing but no reply so reverted back to ginger DX

Option to overclock... go to CM settings.
DT for Synaptics is already enabled, Cypress ready. Just copy modul to system/lib/module.
P.S.: Read first post more carefully and u'll find everything there. Also I stated to NOT TO PM me about that rom.

yes you can use dual touch modules in gc7.4 just download ax8mt.ko from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1135965, then put in lib/modules/ then restart ,enjoys your dual touch, oc is not stable ,bootloops .oh don't forget set permissions for ax8mt.ko rw-r--r--,
sorry for my bad english...

Overclock is as stable as on any other roms out there

that was the first place i looked for OC only went to 600Mhz asif the OC module was not there.
and i got cypress. i did not think i could use the same modules i use in GingerDX otherwise i would have done that.
sorry about the pm. and yes i did not read your post proply just what's in the rom and then downloaded it n stuck it on becouse i started a thread asking what is better for gaming and gingercruzt came out on top so just went to download it and stick it on as a test. first game i went on i coud not dual touch straight "outa the box" i could not find a way to OC to over 600Mhz and also did not think i could use the same module's hence the dash straight back to the amazing GingerDX series

+1 thumb for GC7.4 - got 92mb free space/40mb at loaded mem, using undervolt & 480MHz & 2G Edge - phone still rock & battery issues solve! use OC mode to playing game!

GC 7.4 best....+1 thumb..heheeee

Yo guys, can anyone tell me how do i Copy the module to system/lib/modules?

a mistake at gc7.4 ? have to remove # to load dualtouch module..

You copy module from pc to root of your micro sd card.
from there get root explorer go to your SD card file and hold finger on "wanted" module release then you get various options you need to click ""move""
now back up to start page or root explorer scroll to bottom click on System. then lib. then modules once there click paste. now come off reboot phone and the module should be working
I help so you help!
Click the THANKS ! ! !

GC 7.4 is the best rom for x8 as of now is stable, fast and very smooth

i think its gingercruzt

GC the best....

[Q]Have a Question with [ROM] Srom-2.3.3GingerbreadX8-V1

I flash the [ROM] Srom-2.3.3GingerbreadX8-V1 , it's just well in my x8 but Pinch zoom....I find the http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1004740 i think may be it well better than the one in Srom-2.3.3, but when i download the x8gesture.ko and put it in /system/lib/modules and change the hw_config.sh, it don't work....why? i already change it permission
May i have some mistake ???thanks a lot for helping me.....
sorry for my poor english....
Man in our rom we got the latest pinch zoom from that post so dont try change anything. If you did reflash the rom
Er......i found not as well as the one which MiniCM6-1.0.0 use....so i think the one which u used not the lastest ver....so i try to do that....it will better in next ver?
BTW : when i flash your rom, reboot phone, it work well...and cpu at 691 but qhen i use it some time cpu will become 600.......if i want it to 691 i must reboot
again, and just soon it chang 600 too......how can i always make it 691? Sorry for my poor english i hope u can understand my means..
How come it set on 600? When i flash it n doin the instruction it set on 691 ....or not u can use set cpu to change it 691. Hope this can help you mate
Sent from my Xperia_X8 using XDA Premium App
Er.......first time i like u that working at 691 And i can see it in cm setting, but after son about one or two hours it change to 600 i just see that in cm setting....i download cpuset and found it 600too, but i can change it to691 without reboot now...oh my god it change back himself after half hour....and i come in the cpuset found that it display max at 600 but the botton at 691 why it dont work for me....cry...
Sorry for my poor make truble for you...
That's because in MINICM we have the PinchZoom from Andre, not from doixanh.
Errr... Andre's Module ..Can it could to be used at the Rom which i used??
Man in v2 we will probably remove all modules except the no MDDI lags so anyone who want a module he should install it himself.
Also if you still have problems with overclock go to/system/lib/modules and delete x8oc.ko and then install it as the instructions says from the doixanh post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1020313
Ok, i wil try it later....you means i could del x8oc.ko which in the ROM and download a new one and use i myself and then my problem will change??...
BTW: I very like your ROM, and hope next ver come soon good job .......
thanks a lot
module Pinch zoom. not for 2.3.3GingerbreadX8-V1

[DEV][WIP][ROM]ICS For X8 Alpha 9 *STOPPED*

As we all know, Stelios97 made a working port of ICS for the X10 mini. fifo171 has tested the same rom on his X8 and has confirmed that it works for the X8 as well. This thread is to further develop this rom so we X8 users can have ICS. On the 27th November 2011,troufiniou and has further developed this rom ! Thnx guys !
Notice :In this thread, we'll be focusing on troufiniou's releases. If you would like to try stelious97's rom, the link is provided below but i don't think i will be posting his releases as he is developing for the x10 mini and not the X8, whereas troufiniou is with us in the X8 department. Please do not ask for ETA's and I will not tolerate posts like "when will be ready 100%, when will be stable and etc". Also, if anyone disrespects the thread, not counting if they are disrespecting devs or normal users, you will be reported and hopefully banned ! You have been warned. Also, troufiniou and n1kolaa are working around the clock to get the ICS port working for us, so please show some respect and do not make demands be thankful we even have devs helping us !
Thanks goes to stelios97 for the x10 mini ics port and for helping with the x8 rom, nobodyAtall, alfsamsung and doixanh (also for helping with V007 II ) for their awesome kernels, fifo171 for testing on X8 (stelious97's rom), troufiniou who is currently developing this rom and to all the ICS testers as well as those who PM-ed me asking if they could help. Thanks guys !
stelious 97's thread
troufiniou's thread
Requirements:
[Stock kernel fix for V007 II and below] - Download this, extract the two files and paste them in system/bin and flash the rom (if asked to overwrite anything, just accept and click yes)
unlocked bootloader (Optional but highly recommended)
custom kernel : nAa kernel/alfs kernel/linuxdx kernel
rooted phone
latest firmware and baseband (xxxx015)
What's Working:
Touchscreen (Cypress users- stock kernel only with V008)
Charging
Hard buttons (Thnx to tony-noob )
Vibrate (With the nAa/alfs Kernel)
Sound (???)
SD Card Readable (V005)
LED (V005)
GSM (V005) (Can recieve calls and SMS but cant send sms and make calls )
Brightness (V005)
SMS
What isn't working :
Pretty much everything else
Installation Instructions:
(BEFORE TRYING, I SUGGEST TESTING YOUR PHONE TO SEE IF YOUR PHONE USES CYPRESS OR SYNAPTICS DIGITIZER)
*Download THIS
*Extract contents and select "checkts .cmd"
*Make sure USB DEBUGGING is enabled on your phone
*Connect your phone to your PC but do not mount SD CARD
*Let the CMD run and it will state if Cypress or Synaptics was detected
Unlock Bootloader
For advanced users
For n00bs like me
Flash nAa kernel/alfs kernel/ linuxdx
Place rom on your sd card

Diclaimer : I can't be held responsible if this rom bricks, destroys or screws up your phone flash at your own risk ! ALWAYS MAKE A BACKUP BEFORE FLASHING !!!!!! If you do have problems, PM me and I'll help
Video was done by jahlovePL thnx mate
Screenshots by 72andrew72 thnx bro !
Primary objectives : Fix network coverage, wifi, bluetooth, camera, basically everything and compatibility for cypress users (hang in there guys)
If you're not happy with this rom, simply full wipe, wipe cache, wipe data and restore your backup ! As for the kernel, you can use any kernel you prefer.
P.S.
1. I am not a developer. I am merely providing info and links based on troufiniou's progress. All credits go to the devs and the testers.
2. This rom only works with synaptics digitizer users. Cypress users will have to use stock kernel fix (read the requirements section - 1st post) along with v008 for now
3. Please read the 1st page before asking useless questions or making stupid complaints !!!
4. In V008, there were complaints of users unable to access their recovery modes ! Here's the fix by ThePCGuy Thnx mate ! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20044282&postcount=1216
Please, if you can help us, PM us and inform us that you can help to lessen our burden. Do not be selfish. Put it this way, the more hands we have working on this project, the faster you can expect ICS on your X8's I'm already recieving a lot of PM's asking if they can help ! THATS WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT !
Let's all have a blast with this !

swap only works in custom kernels like nAa and alfs..
u need to unlock bootloader to flash these kernels..

With this settings your phone should be suitable for HD Gaming
Try AtiFroyoV8
Use swapper2 from market if ur phone is at risky level
I guess I ships probably start overclocking to stop one of my games lagging lol

i may say that too many apps in your phone make phone lag and battery drain.
always try to put your apk in internal memory. putting apk in sdcard has so many issue like the speed of sdcard.
for rom try kuyadroid 4.5 with alfs 6.. OC to 748 and try your game. 3D games will be more smooth when you use chainfire3d

new issue: (until will be fixed by Cerci):
- in V8 CWM does not work,
- Any attempt to introduce CWM using x8tolbox Final will make both recovery and CWM disappear.
Temporary solution:
Use previous versions of x8toolbox to reinstall dual recovery. Then recovery works, and if you have a restore point, use that, or reinstall some Rom. Waiting for the fixed version.

Just above your post you have this wonderful topic where you can find answers to all your questions.
Me, i would suggest gingerdx, being the most feature rich and probably the most stable out there. Been using it for a while now, with the occasional testing of some other rom, but i always go back to it for my daily use.
I know...
i know I should use the search bar, and I've done that
I just wanted a "fresh answer"
, but thank you for your suggestion!
EDIT: Can I install it with xRecovery v0.1 (as in this guide: *ANDROIDFORUMS*/x8-all-things-root/296251-new-superoneclick-root-install-use-xrecovery-xperia-x8.html)?

you mean gingerdx? usually roms can be installed (flashed) with xrecovery, but ginger dx cannot. You need to install an older version of gdx, like v19 (i think it was the last one installable from xrecovery) then just update to v24 -v19 includes CWM recovery.
Again, you can safely flash gingerdx. I use my x8 daily being my main phone, and i never had problems with gdx. Read the gingerdx post and reviews. I get around 2 days of battery life with wi-fi always on (not always connected), few calls, some texting etc.
edit:
by the way, i'm on stock kernel. And gingerdx is, i think, the only stable rom with recent updates for stock. Using it you wont feel the need to unlock the bootloader. Me, myself, can't unlock it. I have a vintage ppc mac and google sdk tools don't work on it, and i don't feel like bothering others just to have swap and overclock i never use anyway.
Aws, but what now?
It's awesome that you take your time to help me!
What do I do, then, I have xRecovery v0.1 installed?

well, i don't have much to do today...so..
now, so i know in which direction to point you:
- is your x8 rooted (you have superuser installed)?
- have you installed xrecovery? (as in the tut- unzip files and move them to system/app/can't remember right now)
if not then...
root your phone as described here
install xrecovery as described here
if all above is done correctly you should be able to find superuser in the app drawer
now...
find a rom that you like/trust for daily use (like gingerdx)
copy the version for your kernel (and as far as gingerdx goes, the last version flashable in xrecovery), copy modules for your kernel (if any)
-boot into xrecovery and chose install custom zip and chose the (rom name).zip on your sd
-then install modules (if any)
-full wipe
reboot and enjoy
Hello,
Also Dont forget about "unlock Bootloader" if u want to flash any COSTUM ROM that require COSTUM KERNEL
For the suggestion better go for Minicm7 2.2 by nobodyAtall [This rom require nAa Kernel (Costum Kernel)]
[But im using CM9 Rom by Paul-xxx]
Peace,
Okay
Okay, I'll try it out, now
and again; THANK YOU!
EDIT: When I've done this, can I in any way upgrade to v24 of GingerDX?

do exactly as i showed you above and flash gingerdx v19 then, after booting, reboot again but choose to reboot into CWM recovery from the reboot menu and flash gingerdx v24+modules and you'll be up-to-date
ps: use only latest modules for v24 and...don't need to flash modules when flashing v19 having that you're not gonna' keep that version, ok?
good luck.
ps2: suggestion- keep open in web browser on your pc all the tutorials, instructions, etc so if you get confused, there's help for you and you don't have to wait for someone to reply

WOW, OMG, I love you! <3
EDIT: Fingers crossed, it's rebooting!
EDIT2: IT WORKS! YOU DON'T KNOW HOW HAPPY I AM! I'VE BEEN TROUBLING WITH THIS FOR APPROX. ONE WEEK.
I'VE "THANKED" ALL OF YOUR POSTS!
...and i've thanked yours
glad it all worked out well...it's actually easy if you have everything you need in front of you.
Some tips:
If you're like me, a minimalist freak (which i undoubtedly am) and want your rom to be even faster and lighter, you can remove some useless apps with root explorer.
i've removed and i can confirm that are safe to remove the following (from gdx v24) from system/app
-play music.apk
-terminal.apk
-root browser.apk
-zeam launcher.apk (ATTENTION!: before deleting the launcher app make sure to have previously installed a launcher from play store!)
and also make sure you've installed a substitute for each app you delete, like, for example, if you want access to root files, install a root exlorer or something, for listening music, install a music player and so on...
then you should go to cahce/dalvik and find the cache file for every app you've deleted and delete it. reboot and enjoy.
As in my signature, i'm using sslauncher as my home launcher app, with only to pages-home and app, and i don't use google maps...so i get around 40/50 mb free ram on normal use and around 2 days of battery life.
good luck
Yup
I actually know how to do that
