yUp!Stock kernel doesn't support swap partition...
swap only works in custom kernels like nAa and alfs..
u need to unlock bootloader to flash these kernels..
hit the thanks button
GingerDX + Alfs Kernel + Swap + Overclock (with setcpu profiles)
With this settings your phone should be suitable for HD Gaming
Try AtiFroyoV8
Use swapper2 from market if ur phone is at risky level
I guess I ships probably start overclocking to stop one of my games lagging lol

i may say that too many apps in your phone make phone lag and battery drain.
always try to put your apk in internal memory. putting apk in sdcard has so many issue like the speed of sdcard.
for rom try kuyadroid 4.5 with alfs 6.. OC to 748 and try your game. 3D games will be more smooth when you use chainfire3d

Hey, love Inroid! Thx!
One thing: after using navi, the systemsound stays on 100%, how can I change that the sound stays the same as before using the navi?
Maybe I missed some posts on this, sorry for that..

Indroid was the 1st custom rom i flashed on my G3. Before this I was very new to all these. I am only waiting for a simple way to partition and use Indriod FSC then I will post in this thread some troubleshoot for newbies which I felt during Indroid ROM flashing. hope that will make life easier for those who want to flash it but worried about errors.
Can i overclock my indroid 4.2 ?? And are there some risks? will my telephone die?

Btw you can also reduce system sound with the volume key on the left side right? Doesn't that work?

you haven't partition'd yet?
Use minitool and partition your sd..I could make a video on using ext4 as data on indroid if you want me to?
I'd show from start in the video if you'll want it.
And Indroid FSC is used after making an ext partition on sd not before.

ok i will when i get time..
I installed indroid 4.2. Everything seems to work, except the gps and usb-connection.
It takes a very long time to get a fix on gps. When i finally get get a fix and i give a location in google navigation, it crashes.
About the usb-connection, the first time i connected to my pc, it worked. But after that, it doesn't work anymore. When i connect my sg3 to my pc, it thrils ones and that's it.
Any ideas?

as of now its just over clocked to 800Mhz so i recommended to stick with 667Mhz version ie standard version.

If you have updated the kernel to beta 3 then stick to it no need to reflash

Hello,
I'm new and i would like testing indroid rom
But i must flash indroid 4.0 and after, with CMW flash 4.1 and 4.2 ?
Ty for answers and sorry for my bad english...
Hi, folks! Are you ok?
I'm new here (indeed in the Android's world), I can't post in development forum, so here I am.
I have instaled my first custom ROM right now, Kyrillos' ROM, but looks like de overclock feature not works.
My decision to choice this ROM its about a video I saw in YouTube showing the overclock in 1.3GHz, so, for me, this is a very important feature.
I check this in the setCPU and the value stills 667. I followed all the instructions, all the rest its run like a charm, I can run live wallpapers now and all the stuff, but the overclock thing is perturb me...
Anyone can help me with that?
PS: Sorry about not put the thread in the [OFFICIAL] Kyrillos' ROM Problems, Questions & Answers...
Hi..
choose a kernel from here which best suits your needs and flash it just like you flashed the rom.. You'll be able to overclock after that

Hi! Thank you for your fast reply!
So, that's another flash thing. OK. So, my serious doubts:
1 - Overclock that way may harm my phone? Life time of processor, battery temperature, things like that...
2 - What you indicate to my device (Samsung Galaxy 3 i5800), "performance" or "ultimate"?
Regards!

1.Well the voltages aren't raised so overclocking won't hurt..
2. You can give them both a try. Had some flickering issues with ultimate so I'm using performance now..

Tell me one thing, if the voltages are not raised, how come battery consumption is more?? I am guessing, increase in frequency increases temperature and hence raises consumption. Or is it something else??

I've got no idea about that but overclocking doesn't cause much battery drain.. It drains more due to data connection specifically 3G..

You don t have to convert. That was only for the earlier versions of G3Mod. You can flash kernel directly without converting.

Yes. It controls the CPU frequency. If you don t have that how will you change frequency and set profiles?? You have to have it.

Download the the kernel that you want from here.
The details of the various kernels are as follows : -
Lite : - NON OC
Performance : - 190-950 MHz
Ultimate : - 200-1200 MHz
Extreme : - 200-1400 MHz
Copy the required .zip of the kernel to the SD card and apply via CWM recovery or just flash the .tar as one package using ODIN.
Then use SET CPU to overclock.
it works for E15a? or just for E15i? thanks for your answer....

thank you for the clarification

No need.
You can use a swap file too.
Besides, it's not really measurable if it's going to reduce your sdcard lifetime, and even if it does, who would want to have an sdcard for more than two years.
Hi i am wondering.
a few people suggest KuyaDroid and a few suggest GingerCruzt
I am only after decent gameing.
Currently i run gingerdx v013 and game's such as NFS shift and PES 2011 run smoothly but i really want to try the Conflict sandstorm game out.
on GDX it get's to loading screen then reboot's phone..
a few people say different rom's give different gameing performance i am just wondering if this is true which one will be better to use/??
GingerCruzt or KuyaDroid
Thanks for your time
for me.. GingerCruzt.. after GDX v008 til now.. i still love GingerCruzt.. so smooth..and all my games work fast and no lag..
Are you sure that you have the ARMv6/Gingerbread version of that game?
Search for it on blackdroid (google it), download, install and check if it´s working.
if you did the following and it still doesn´t work, THEN you could maybe try another ROM.
GingercruZt for SE Ui
Kuyadroid lightweight
Still Gingercruzt have better apps compatibility

Just tried GingerCruzt this morning,
no overclocking option's and no dual touch so put GingerDx v013 back on.
i don't want to try any rom where you have to use CWM recovery.
that's the reason i have not yet updated to gingerDX v014
i asked the OP of the GingerCruzt 7.4 thread if i could use modules from DX for dual touch and OC'ing but no reply so reverted back to ginger DX

Option to overclock... go to CM settings.
DT for Synaptics is already enabled, Cypress ready. Just copy modul to system/lib/module.
P.S.: Read first post more carefully and u'll find everything there. Also I stated to NOT TO PM me about that rom.
yes you can use dual touch modules in gc7.4 just download ax8mt.ko from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1135965, then put in lib/modules/ then restart ,enjoys your dual touch, oc is not stable ,bootloops .oh don't forget set permissions for ax8mt.ko rw-r--r--,

that was the first place i looked for OC only went to 600Mhz asif the OC module was not there.

sorry about the pm. and yes i did not read your post proply just what's in the rom and then downloaded it n stuck it on becouse i started a thread asking what is better for gaming and gingercruzt came out on top so just went to download it and stick it on as a test. first game i went on i coud not dual touch straight "outa the box" i could not find a way to OC to over 600Mhz and also did not think i could use the same module's hence the dash straight back to the amazing GingerDX series
+1 thumb for GC7.4 - got 92mb free space/40mb at loaded mem, using undervolt & 480MHz & 2G Edge - phone still rock & battery issues solve! use OC mode to playing game!

You copy module from pc to root of your micro sd card.
from there get root explorer go to your SD card file and hold finger on "wanted" module release then you get various options you need to click ""move""
now back up to start page or root explorer scroll to bottom click on System. then lib. then modules once there click paste. now come off reboot phone and the module should be working

GC 7.4 is the best rom for x8 as of now is stable, fast and very smooth
