[Q] Phone is acting up. - Continuum General

Okay, so I have my Continuum rooted, and had been running ADWlauncher, with a theme, which was running fine and dandy. Then sometime day before yesterday my phone began to go haywire. My battery essentially stopped charging, so I dropped ADW, and went back to the default TW, and the issue essentially stopped.
That is, until now. I had my phone plugged into charge, and had about 6% battery life when I did. I was on the browser, just reading a few articles, when my phone decides to power off as if dead (just straight to black, no power-off screen).
Now I have it still plugged into the charger, but can't get it to turn on again. It just goes straight from the charging screen to solid black, and I have to pull the battery. Can anyone help?
Edit: 26 seems to be the magic number, as well. I have it plugged in, and finally turned back on, and am monitoring the battery life. When it first turned on, it had 26%, but has slowly worked it's way down, and is at 24%. I can't figure this out.

maybe its a defected battery? idk

I think that may be a failsafe gone wrong. I know mine won't let me flash anything (pluggedvinvor not) below 26%. and on some phones, the radios are shut down below a certain percentage. Mayberry wiping your battery stats in cwm?

Charging Issue

Has anyone ever had an issue where by their battery life is at say 59% and when i plug it in to charge rather than the blue charging icon appearing it just showing the battery being 100% and the LED doing successive double flashing as opposed to a static LED like i should be if it was charging?
I've not installed anything, flashed a new rom etc, was fine yesterday.
All i did was have a little play with CHTEditor.
somethings not right, it must be something to do with me messing about with CHTEditor
out of the blue my lock screen had gone, and it says i have a voice mail waiting when i dont. haha
Hard reset i think
update...
hard reset not worked...uhoh
Same problem here
I was in a phone call an al of a sudden everything just went black and rebooted. Turns out the phone stopped charging and flasing green and red. Battery ran out of power and the phone shut down. After the reboot the phone charged normally again
Another situation:
Phone started acting up again and endend in a reboot. Battery was empty and i made a phone call on the charger. during the phonecall the same problem happend again, but the battery was at 9%. I intended to unplug the charger and plug it back in, but after the unplug the battery jumped to 0% and shut down.
So, i think the battery is acting up. Having to charge the thing every damn day is finally taking it's toll.

yep, using the original battery, it seems to be ok now, charging as it should.
ahh well. cheers for the reply
one last this, how the hell to i get the lock screen back, i think im being dim.
edit
sorted
I have a program BsB Tweaks that has a setting for the lockscreen. Try that.
My phone is also charging fine when turned off, also it functions fine at the moment. i think it has something to do with overloading the device when the battery is low. Based on that its not possible to turn on any phone when the battery is in attached but the power is, i think everything is drained from the battery while charging it and that when overloading the battery just doesn't pull it anymore.
i don't have a alternative battery, mine is original.
What are the symtoms when the battery is at the end of it's life? does it do this, or is it supposed to give a warning or something?
edit: i am unable to find a manual page describing the different modes the LED could be blinking. I'm curious what is says about the red and green blinking mode. Does such a page exist?

Battery completely discharged whilst switched off!

I got my new tab yesterday, messed with it a little and charged it fully in the evening. I switched it off before going to bed, just got home this afternoon and the battery has discharged down to 1%. Needless to say it wouldn't start up.
Anyone have any ideas?
Yes, seems to be a common ¨sleep of death¨ issue. Looks like some app or driver causes 100% CPU usage that discharges the battery.
If the device is plugged in, you can find it turned off and really hot until rebooted.
Thanks, if it was switched off though how could it be an app that's running?
I guess it's some system hang issue, it's using CPU and fails to turn on. So it's actually on, but not responding and you have to reboot it. If it's not plugged in, then it just turns off once the battery is drained.
If you have switched it off completely, it's weird that the issue occurred to you, for me it happened only when device was turned on. Maybe there as some problem during shutdown and it didn't turn off the device.

[Q] Mytouch 4g died in sleep?

So, this phone was working without any problems but then my wife turned it off and left it in the drawer for about 3 weeks when she went overseas. When she got back and tried to turn it on it wont turn on. We figured it might have drained the battery so we plugged it in but now its not charging either! When I unplugged and plugged in, the LED blinked orange once but now it wont even do that either, no power, no LED, not charging either. I have tired everything, left it disconnected, battery out for an hour, then put it together and tried to charge, still nothing.
Any ideas? It is already out of warranty so talking to T-Mobile is out of question.
Nothing has been done to it, it is physically fine, it was just off for a long period and not it just wont respond.
Edit: Fixed it! I don't know what, I was almost giving up, but I took the battery out and blew hard on the battery contacts in the phone and in the charging port then plugged everything in and put it back on charger, orange light started to blink and then went solid and now its charging. I just turned it on. This phone is dodgy, no other phone hard bricks like this if you leave it off.
Some phones don't function with completely discharged battery. Actually, most of newer phones. You need to leave the battery inside and the phone connected to charger for some time, till the charging light shows up. MT4G is very far from being "dodgy", doesn't differ from many other phones that behave the same, and you were nowhere near "hard brick".
Good luck in powering up Motorola Defy with completely discharged battery.
Recoverable problem

Had a similar problem. Phone died while using it then wouldn't light up when plugged in. Left it plugged in for half an hour wouldn't seem to charge via wall or car charger. Tried doing a hard reset with/without the battery & plugged in/not plugged in in various combinations. Got nuthin. Drove around for hours looking for a replacement or open T-Mobile place, until it got too late and I went home. Live chat with T-mobile rep was a waste of time. Plugged it in the wall and left it, as this once brought back a G2 battery that I thought was cold dead. Five hours later it was lit up and charging, showing 40% charge on the battery indicator app once I turned it back on. "HTC Sense" crashed immediately on boot then recovered. Seems to be fine so far.
- Suggestion; plug it in and leave it overnight if it seems cold dead and doesn't appear to be charging. It seems to need to hit some critical threshold before it will work again (as indicated by previous poster). Also pick up a couple spares off amazon or newegg if you don't have a second phone available.

Back and forth from charged to charging

Hey guys, just started seeing some odd behavior today. My phone is currently 73% charged and when I went to top it off I noticed the LED was flashing strangely. Turning the screen on and checking the lockscreen I noticed that it was constantly going from Charged to Charging, back and forth. It didn't seem to actually be charging at all.
I tried two different adapters and cables then a cold boot. It started charging normally for a few minutes, then started doing this again. Does that sound like a bad USB connection on the phone's end?

Sounds like a dodgy battery to me.
Does it show the same behaviour when you plug it in with the phone turned off? If not, then it could be the ROM you are running, especially if you have dirty flashed different ROMS.
If its the battery, you can get replacements or just send the phone back. Try running it right down too and fully recharging. I had a similar problem on my Sensation and it turned out to be the battery. There are threads on how to remove the back cover and replace the battery. But avoid opening it unless you have no recourse with Google / your supplier.

Thanks, I'll let it run down today. I am running AOKP but haven't flashed anything recently and this just started today.

A better test would be to see what it does when its turned off and charging. If its staying fully charged, then its 99% software issue. But batteries can be shyte. Esp if yours is an early model which the batteries are about 7-8 months old now.
Hope you narrow it down m8
This is a really stupid question, but what SHOULD happen when it's turned off and plugged in? I've never had it off before since getting it.
Plugged into charger #1: Charging icon with lightning bolt briefly, screen off, then icon of battery filling up, screen off. Screen kept going on and off.
Plugged into charger #2: Charging icon with lightning bolt briefly, screen off, then icon of battery filling up, screen off and has been off since.
It did charge to 100% (while turned on) on charger #2 last night, but I've also seen it do the Charged/Discharging dance on this charger once as well.

Battery stuck at 0%, won't charge

So here's my story.
I was using my tablet like normal, and the battery level was around 90%, when suddenly the battery level drops to 0% and my tablet dies. I always charge it every night, and I've never had any issues before, so I figured it couldn't be a battery issue, and I've NEVER had a battery just suddenly die on me before.
When it's plugged in, it shows the battery at 0% and charging, but it never goes above 0%. It works just fine plugged in, but as soon as I unplug it, it says Connect Charger, Power Off... Shutting Down.
But here's the weird thing! I know it can't be the battery, because when I start it up in the bootloader and it's not plugged in, it's absolutely fine! It can run hours at a time without being plugged in at the bootloader screen. But as soon as I start up the system, it gets to the X loading screen, then shuts down.
I tried flashing back to stock everything. Stock 4.2.2, stock 4.3. Nothing works.
Any ideas before I send it back to Google for repairs? :crying:

Did you do full wipe when you flash back to stock ROM?
I believe I have experienced once similar to yours. Not sure how I did it but I think it is "rest for awhile" (5 min), e.g. charge with power off, unplug USB cable, wait a few minutes and turn it on.

Yes, everything was wiped out. I let it charge overnight and now it's stuck at 7%.
Anyways, I'm sending it back to Google.

Which recovery are you using?
