Just curious, is it possible to replace the motherboard from a EU HD2 with the motherboard from a T-Mobile HD2? Or would that be impossible?
Nope, they have different shapes, but if you change external case & chassis you can do this!

US HD2 is for US T-mobile (t-mobile special 3G band), EU version is for EU obviously.
US t-mobile HD2 can work in EU to get 3G, EU version cannot get 3G in USA.
US version has much more RAM and ROM than EU version.
USA version is King, EU version is Queen

I`m in UK and I`d like to use 3G. So I assume I should try to get US version then. I have pending bid on eBay on UK version, should cancel then.

EU version is fine in EU so no problem.
US version was my choice ... Android on US is no problem, although personally I would purchase an Android handset by default if going Android. Many better spec Android models are available & they will not suffer from port issues like poor battery life & unable to charge powered off ect ...

Is it possible to unlock US version so I can use Vodafone in UK?

USA version is much better than EU version - bigger RAM, Double ROM .
but you have to unlock (SIM lock) it to be able to use

You can buy an HD2 from T-Mobile for $450, or you can buy a European version (I assume quad band) from Amazon for $700. My question is - what bands are supported on the T-Mobile version? Will that GSM band(s?) work on AT&T? Other than working in Europe, any other advantage in going with the $700 version?
Ideally I'd wait for an EVO 4G, but my current phone is coughing up blood, and don't know if it will make it to the summer...

all HD2 are quadband GSM, so it will work on any GSM EDGE network
euro HD2 has 900/2100MHz 3G band
telsla HD2 has 850/2100MHz 3G band (ATT)
Tmo USA HD2 has 1700/2100MHz 3G band
EVO 4G is CDMA, only works on Verizon
The Telstra version he mentions is about $780-800USD, just fyi.
Mind you that you have been able to buy T-mobile HD2's in europe and elsewhere for quite some time. It's confusing for the owners of said version when threads get labelled like this. Specify T-mobile US in thread titles.

Hey! You mean that there are other parts of the world where they have had the HD2 for some time and that the US its actually playing catch up?
Yes, but the US candidate is quite a sprinter; with more ROM and double the Flash memory, the EU version is left in a sore 2nd place even after the late start

I am debating giving my wife my euro version, as her cell just died (LG Cookie) and buying/unlocking a T-Mobile version for myself. Of course the first thing I'll do is HSPL 2.08, so the question is...
Will I notice a difference between the two in terms of call quality? My euro has the 576 RAM hack ROM installed, but I'll likely remove that since my wife could not possibly cafe less about it. Doe the T-Mobile's have improved call quality over the euro versions, as they actually support the extra RAM as stock?
Has anyone been able to do a side-by-side comparison first hand?
Thanks in advance for any insight.
One more thing:
Under normal circumstances, the T-Mobile version ships with 2.08 radio, which will not be affected if I flash a 2.10 based/TMOUS compatible ROM, correct? I mean, the ROM and Radio are separate flashes, and most cooked ROMs do not include Radios, so I'd be safe, generally speaking, correct? Don't want to brick the new one.
For clarity it would be a good idea to differentiate between the UK and US T-mobile models as I have a UK version and it would be pointless doing the comparision with an EU model. Wouldn't it?

if the send key is green, you have a tmous.
If it came from tmous, then its a tmous
If you have it working with 3g on tmo usa then it can ONLY be a tmous.
and there's only two models...the tmo us, and the euro version (less memory and a slight bit shorter than the tmo model...plus crucial differences in ROM compatibility).
The thread linked below is where you should really start....go through it at length, check out all the links. After you've done that, then make a list of questions you still haven't seen answers to, and come back and post any that are left

Hello everyone
I have a question about lte band of Chinese version
On Huawei website, we can see that the mate 7 support FDD LTE band 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/20/28. Todays, we can find the Chinese version for sell "limited" to bands 1,3,7.
But what I don't understand if the Chinese version got all band if you use it in another country or does it need a firmware mod to activate the other bands?
I need band 3,7 and 20... Can I buy a Chinese one or not? (2gig/16 would be good)
Thanks
This has been answer in our Q&A thread. Please take a look at recent discussion on this topic.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-7/general/wait-compatible-ascend-mate-7-buy-t2899404
Forum member from Switzerland has reported that the Chinese TL10 works flawlessly and we will hear more news from EU user next week.:fingers-crossed:
And we highly recommend 3 GB RAM, or the premium version. You will notice significant difference when opening multiple APPS.
We will post a root instruction for xda community early next week so that it will be a more fun machine to have.

Hello!
I just came back from a trip to China. Bought my Mate 7 in Shanghai. Its the MT7-UL00 Version.
At the shop they told me it should work in Switzerland. They even installed the Play Store for me (good service).
At the Stop Over in Dubai I had no LTE. So I was a little worried. Now in Switzerland it looks like I have same LTE coverage like I had bevor with my LG G3.
Hope this helps you.
The Kitano
MT7-TL10 Chinese -> European
I just got af Gold Mate 7 (3 bg/32 rom) from China - MT7-TL10.
Its a Chinese version, with Chines text i a few palces (even i chosed Denmark for language) but its also without google or anything - and im living in Europe.
So my question is, how do I get the international version af the software on this phone so I can use it like a normal phone here in Europe?
I would be really thankfull for any help and guidance regarding this issue.
Thank you!
Yep i dreaming of my futur AM7 but for no problem at all like the guaranty, i prefer wait till the european version launch officially. i'm so disappointed the gold version will not sold in europe, oh well the grey/black model will be fine too ^^
the official launch in france will be soon around 12 of november.

I bought the Gold TL10 version from ebay and had the international rom flashed on it. Works fine although i only get 3g hspa with tmobile (which is still pretty fast).
I want to unlock the 4g lte though like the TL09 versions so i cud see how fast the cat6 realli is. Regardless though, this phone is pretty fast to even be in 3g mode.

It's amazon so warranty usually good if you buy from them. 3gb ram 2gb of ram wont matter much with the Chipset they are using. Feel confident that 2gb will be enough after all the video tests I have seen on YouTube. The 3gb is only the Chinese model which I would not purchase. Get the European model much safer bet.

Hey, I have my MT7 brought over from China. I am using it in the Czech Republic on Vodafone network. I can only get 2G connectivity. No 3G or LTE. in the Settings/Roaming Settings, it identifies my SIM card as "2G" only, and I cannot switch on 4G. I have a brand new nano SIM that should work with our local LTE.

You should inquiry before purchasing. The CL00 version, aka China TeleCom version, only recognizes their specific SIM, otherwise, locked at GSM only. Choose a reputable seller in the future.

Yeah I got this as a little gimmick to play with., but it certainly is a disappointment.
Do you think the CL00 version can be loaded with TL10 firmware? I can see CL00 and TL10 differ dramatically in the network and data connectivity support, and TL10 is what I need.

No. There is no way to unlock the SIM and flashing TL10 ROM will not work either. In addition, CL00 uses an additional chip for CDMA2000, which consumes more batteries (only 2/3 of battery life vs. other versions, stated by HUAWEI's website). If you consider TL10, we have Gold color version in stock.
We cannot help you on this version any more.
Good luck!

They are all the same version, if you are referring to the gold version there is no way maybe eBay but it will be very expensive, which in my opinion is stupid just for a color.
Even if you do obtain one somehow, warranty service might be extremely painful.
