Me and my X10 are now divorced.

Guys I have finally had enough of SE and me and my X10 have parted ways, I wish you all good luck and hope the dev's can come up with a bootloader hack and release the full potential of your phones with custom ROMS.
I have just heard that your now looking at the end of Oct for 2.1, what are SE upto, they cant keep messing people around like they are.

I took it to CEX and got £179 trade in towards a HD2 that they had for £225

All I asked for was a little upgrade, you know, a little lipstick some nail varnish, but no she was just stuck in the past and I couldnt cope anymore.

I know, I know, I tried to be patient but im only a man, a man with needs god damn it.
I needed a little Froyo and she was just not willing to change.
I will miss her but this new model knocks the spots off her poor performing 1.6's.

I think you seem to forget that one day those needs where more than satisfied by little X10i and her 1.6.
I hope you know you've broken her heart.
She will have trust issues forever now.
Never knowing when she's going to be dropped for a cooler, flashier model.
Poor little x10 indeed....

Me and rachael have had our issue, she sometime has a sad but after i get inside her and push her buttons she complies. But i see other girls and they suit the new styles, racheal refuses to change for me, i have changed for her, i just want her to look at things in another point of view. i will always love her but i dont know if we can be life partners.

Goodbye X10 with thanks to all

I've just picked up a Samsung Galaxy S II so my beloved X10 is going to be my backup phone.
Just want to thank all the devs and others that have helped in making using it such a great experience.

Damn at least a month before it is released here. I will be joining you soon Yeah it is definitely a great choice.

Got a message today that a phone recycling company has agreed to pay me the full working price for my mobo afflicted X10. So I only lost £2 on the deal. My 26 days with the X10 showed me A) What a good phone the X10 could be with the right ROM (tried 2 Froyos and 1 Éclair all very good) and B) How crap SE are – I had both stock 2.1 and 1.6 on the X10 and both were sh*te, never mind the bloody hardware fault. I can confidently say that will (and have) continue to opt for Android it wont be a SE handset.
OP – Had a play with a SG SII last night, very nice and what a screen. I am jealous as my replacement for the X10 is a ZTE Blade lol. Still at least the blade can function in warm weather unlike that bloody X10.
So goodbye for now XDA, I will return with something different to the Blade in October when I upgrade.

Take care mate,enjoy your SGSII ,i myself changed to a Motorola Defy which couldnt get better (Not 2xCore but works awesomely) ,it has a locked Kernel...but you dont need it unlocked lol,has a perfect functional Multitouch,16m colors,CM7 for it with Everything working(Including camera and such),and everything ^
Besides i get 2.5k at Quadrant with a Overclock @ 1.2ghz ^

Just one to say good bye to you gys you were great comunity but the hd2 lack of android killed me so i sold it and got an iphone 4 wich rocks
anyway just want to say good bye and thank the devs A LOT and wich you good luck with android on your hd2

I don't know what bugs you are talking about, but more than likely it is the roms. Limitations, then yes, I know of. e.g only 512 rom.

The lack on Android, well firstly wrong there loads of Builds available, some have a few problems some have none at all so I cant really see your point here,
Secondly buy a Android Device if thats what you want.
The HD2 is probably the best device available, proven by the amount of work the hackers, programmers etc have put into this phone, they have slugged there guts out making things work that was never supposed to.
So have fun with your iphone locked down piece of poop.

What is lacking is brain capacity = iPhone user!
There is MANY, MANY roms that work 99.9%. There is MANY, MANY roms that work 99.9% with simple tweaks/modifications.
The reason why you got your iPhone is because you dont have the mental ability or patience to learn. = iPhone user.

Wish I could find these "bugs" on ny phone but unfortunately my phone works perfectly, Perhaps it was something YOU did incorrectly.

tut..... my only regret is selling the hd2... i brought a htc desire z because of the keyboard and couldnt afford to keep the hd2 cus i needed the money .... but ill get one again because there just such a good phone.... people get so drawn in by the iphone... i just dont see why...

Mate I dont post much but I saw this post and I gotta say, that's the dumbest reason I've ever seen for a person getting rid of a HD2. It is probably the only phone out there which can run almost any ROM so smoothly cus of its high end hardware and also cus the amazing devs who cook really stable and smooth roms for it. This **** is legendary.
Worst decision. Have fun sucking on Steve Jobs' balls even for a thing as little as sending a file via Bluetooth

Ha....sometimes i want an iphone ....think of the hours i could save not skinning, switching roms, tweaking stuff. Almost would seem freeing, boring, but freeing.

I dont have any bugs on my HD2 w/ Android, i had bugs on my Galaxy S with native Android....
learn how to flash and which ROM to use.

Hi,
Some of you may have seen me around, sadly the time has come to move on. I have a Galaxy S for a while and wont be around these parts as much, i will still pop by and say high now and then though.
I just wanted to say good bye to you all and thanks to all the dev's and user's who have helped me.

The only way to really brick a phone is during a bad radio flash..
Just check your md5 sums and make sure to not flash either new boot file or radio if you have less than 30% battery or with the back cover off (so the battery doesn't fall out)

I have owned many phones and read one quick tutorial and you're set.
Plus the fact you can do much more makes it all worth it.

I know I said my good bye to you through pm already but I thought I'd say it again. I'm sure you'll get much more satisfaction from galaxy being the techy guy that you are and I'm sure in less than a week you'll be on the cyanogenmod nightlies lol
Also I don't know if I ever did thank you proper for the various bits of advice over time you have given me, and also when I put together that tutorial for how to flash 2.2 beta 4 with your help all that time ago.

Bricking the X10.. funny but oddly funny..

When i first joined XDA i had this fight with Fisidox and SVTmook " think it was svtmook"
We had a fight about bricking and semi bricking ect...
After owning both the x10, x10 mini pro, SGS2 and now i have gotten ASUS Transformer Prime just today... i have learned so much.
One thing i remember is SVTmook saying dude you can't brick a x10.. he was right... it's damn hard to brick a x10. hardly had my transformer for a day and i had to re-flash to stock.
I can say today that i learned allot from you guys.. i'm in a way thankful that i owned a x10... because it has shown me everything android is not supposed to be.
But has shown me a true XDA family, True great minds working together.
The x10 has been one hell of a ride.. i have been along side users here for quite a while. i'm happy i have been apart of the journey of the x10.
P1LoT, MrClown and Colosus.. you guys were great mods.. that took a hammering and i thank you for everything you have done for the x10 community.

Remember back in the day when the x10 only had double tap, and no pinch to zoom..
hahaha it really was a failure on 1.6. Without the pressure that was put on SE to update the x10, and the brilliant work these devs on XDA have done, the x10 would of been a MASSIVE disaster...

Yeh I feel the same way. The Droid RAZR forums are much more boring than the x10's. Even though the RAZR is a more superior device the x10 has made me an addict,
Xperia x10(Feralabs Rom) After trying all roms it was my Fav.
Now on the RAZR.

I got a TF101 in December. ICS was supposed to have been released for it already and now Asus keeps giving different answers. Now the TF forum is blowing up with the "OMG where the F is ICS?!!" threads. It reminds me of the "good old days" of everyone *****ing and moaning about x10 fw updates... It definitely builds character and brings the interesting forumers out of the woodwork! And I am a lot less worried about it this go-round!

what i was pointing out was even after adopting several devices.. different hardware ECT... still i have not yet bricked any of my other devices.
X10 died because i pushed her way too hard. "so not actually a brick due to flashing"
This is also due to a effort by developers to keep it as sane as possible when it comes to flashing.
