has anyone tried reaching the engineers that worked on the bootloader for the Atrix?
I bet you they're on LinkedIn... maybe I'll try a little networking today and see who I can get on the phone.. lol
I talked to a motorola rep and he couldn't tell me anything... He had his atrix rooted too

The Atrix is going to be selling in my country soon. Thing is the smartphone is the Atrix and not the Atrix 4G.
Im thinking about buying it but i need rooting to install applications outside android market and hdmi out. I wonder if the hacks for doing that on Atrix 4G will work with Atrix.
Whats the difference between 4g version and the regular version?

I dont know much, but it might be something cause the name is ME860 instead of MB860. As it might not be as popular as the Atrix 4G i wonder if the hacks for rooting this one will work with the regular one.

That's the new Plus.
Does anyone know if this tmobile 7" plus is going to able to make phone calls from the start? I've been looking for this answer for a while, but couldn't find anything on it... But it does seem like the tmobile version is not going to allow it from the get-go, as there is no mentioning of this capability anywhere...
Someone more knowledgeable chime please!
well since the one I'm on now took the geniouses here at xda to make calls I'm gona go out on a limb and say no calls.

It has the capability and I haven't read anything to suggest T-Mobile will Bogart this from happening. I have the wifi 16 GB version and it's great, but it does have the looking of a phone with an ear piece that I haven't found any function for yet aside from the assumed ability of the T-Mobile version to call out. Great, great device from the original 7 Plus!

Here is the official link on T-MOBILE

Im willing to bet phone is disabled. If not I will leave streak 7 for this. Or wait until xda gets it working. Ive asked tmobile and samsung, both are avoiding the question, samsung says: we can not speculate..
judging from the tmobile ad photo, there is no phone icon on home screen, where as samsung photos have it.
I guess we could always buy one from Europe where it will likely have voice calls...
have to wait and see..

Better yet we need to find a leak for that 3.2 OS!! Like a system dump.
There's already a thread here on it:

Just wondering, as l haven't seen any postings about this. Can AT&T lapdocks work with Bell? And vice versa? I was looking on ebay & amazon, but rather not waste my effort into it if it won't.
Why not ? Lapdock is only HDMI screen and keyboard.
The lapdock is sold by Motorola with no carrier attachments. It should work with no problems.

The box for my lapdock says ATT on it actually. But it works fine with my bell atrix.
It dose not work with the similar phone from Verizon though. For some reason Moto did this intentionally by flipping the position of the two connectors.
whats the best deal for dock in canada?
any $50 deals here?

Thanks. Was wondering this, and as a Canadian, we both know how Bell is. No more words needed. But thank you for your answer xP
The title says it all.
If I buy a Lapdock for Atrix 4G, could I use it with Moto Razr or any future phones?
The lapdock has been discontinued. I assume that also means it will not work on new devices.

All the Lapdock models? Because I saw for sale the model 100 and 500 PRO.
The entire webtop idea will no longer be pursued by moto.

Jesus, Motorola...
Webtop is so good for media center, and that lapdock could be useful for me but now, I dont see it anymore.
No, the Atrix Lapdock only works on the Atrix. The other lapdocks work universally for the other phones with Webtop AFAIK, but they likely won't work on future devices.
The micro usb and hdmi ports are reversed on the other phones and a bright spark has figured out how to swap them around on the Atrix lapdock in order to use with the other moto phones. Google is your friend on this one and you will find there is a solution to your question.
