I'm running Virtuous Unity 1.31 on my MT4G, but after flashing, I feel like my 4g reception hasn't been the best.
Should I try flashing the radio? I feel like I want to, but don't know what the latest file is? Plus, I've seen some variations on "how to" do this. Anyone with experience have an opinion on this?

thnk you for the update
Read the whole post carefully before flashing the radio.
Whether its the latest or not doesn't really matter. The latest might suck ass in your area, while another might work perfectly. Radio performance varies by location.
This update worked. Thanks for the info.

Both "work"... Modaco recommends ERE36B, and I found it to be a better fit as well... make sure you flash the radio after the ROM, otherwise you end up with it losing connection randomly a bunch... nobody is sure why, it just seems the flashing of the Desire ROMs breaks the radio a bit, so you have to flash after the rom.
HTC Sense (Desire ROM) ERE36B
Great thanks for the heads up
i ask because i have been using ERE27 Without any issues
but i would like to try out the ERE36B ON THE HTC Sense (Desire ROM) ERE36B
To see how it plays out , Can you point me to the correct download ERE36B FOR HTC Sense (Desire ROM) ERE36B ??
Thank you your help is appreciated

It is in Modaco's thread in development... well, when you click on his download link it takes you to his site, which has the actual download there.

Eh? I did the radio first? No problems. I've always seen it suggested radio first. Since the update to the radio has more than just the radio in it.

If you use modaco's kitchen, it flashes the radio after everything else, as well his update zips contain nothing but the radio... if you really wanted, you could open them and fastboot flash the radio with the radio image(thats what I do actually)...
Anyways, some people found that with the Desire ROMs they had to flash the radio, even if they already had the newest one, again after the Desire ROM, otherwise their signal would drop out. My first Desire flash didn't do that, 2nd time it did, 3rd time I had the radio included, 4th and 5th did not, then it did again on the 6th, just did a fastboot flash and the radio didn't do the odd full bars, then none like it turned off and reset type thing, after flashing it like it had been.

How do I know I am using the right radio?
Hi everyone I am going flash my first custom rom (RCMix HD v5.9.7) tonight. I was told to use the radio that works best for me, but how do I know am I using the correct one? What will happen if I use a wrong one?
Should I flash radio before or after custom rom?
Thanks
My Desire HD:
Baseband version
12.28e.60.140fU_26.04.02.17_M2
Software number
1.75.351.2
You always can flash radio rom if you have Radio S-OFF.
For mor information : Look here
btw: I use this radio rom: "04th April 2011: Radio_12.48.60.23U_26.08.04.07_M3 - Unknown source" from the thread with matching RIL and I also have RcMixHD 5.9.7 running on my DHD. Works fine.

Thanks for your reply.
I understand I can always flash a new radio, but how do I know I flashed a correct one?
I mean what would happen if I flashed a wrong one? Like some part of my phone will not work? Or it will be very slow? Or sth else?
Thanks again

Simply, put if it works without getting in the way you have the right radio. The perfect radio for you depends on many things; network, geographical location , usage patterns etc. my advice would be stick with the recommended one for your ROM and change it only if you have issues or a better radio, for your situation, is released.

There is no "right" one. Almost all of them will work with any ROM to some degree.
It's just that some work better than others (better signal, better battery life).
We haven't really come up with an objective way of judging this yet so it's best to try one or two out and see which one works the best for you. None of them "won't" work though.
For Gingerbread ROMs one of the latest two is probably the best.

Thank you very much!
Is there a particular way to know the perfect match between your radio and RIL? Or is that the same as knowing what radio works best?
As far as I know a RADIO will work with different RILs, but if you want the best performace you should take the one that is recommended.
Quote from jkoljo: "Matching radio and RIL is always a good combination when you think of signal stability and battery consumption. That is why you should flash a matching RIL when you flash a new radio"
In this thread is a list of RADIOs with matching RILs.
I am using miui by langthang on my leo hd2 us tmo phone. I am using the newest radio 2.15.50.14 and my signal sucks i don't know what i had on there the first time before i flashed but now i wish i could go back. Or find a combo that works. I live in illinois in the states just south of chicago. my phone is now android on nand. if you guys have any insight to how to go back or a radio to fix this i will be so thank full thanks xda members for your replys in advance.
Also here is the complete radio I have 15.42.50.11u_2.15.50.14 if that helps..

Just try from radio 2.10 .... until 2.14 and see which suits you best.
Also, refer to this thread for the radios : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611787 and make sure your leo is european, otherwise you have to be careful of what you flash to your tmo; it may brick your device.
every person is going to be a little different depending on where you live. me personally (in maryland) find that radio 2.08 works a little better then the other's. really its just trial and error so hopefully you'll find one that works for you.
Does the first set mean anything. Which versions should I stick with .50 right

you have a tmous yes? if so you have to stick to a .50 radio a .51 radio will brick your phone

Hi,
There is no “most recommended radio for MIUI”, radio is "universal" - no matter if you are on sense, CM or MIUI. It is region dependent, so the best radio for your country may not be the best in mine...
You should try the recommended from the OP of the rom you have installed.
If you have good results, just keep it for everyday use.
If you want to try the other ones to see if they gave you better results, then read this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=877295
and try to find feedback from users around your location/country.
Finally, keep in mind that with MIUI you should not flash the corresponding RIL's (they will break your reception). Only G RIL’s will work.
Best regards
Thanks

Agreed radios are a trail and error thing. A search would have showed you this.
