Help please!!!!

I do believe so. I was looking into flashing one of my X's to Cricket and it seems that a custom startup script needs to be setup to make it reflash on every boot as it is lost on power off.
I would hold off until someone more savvy to this responds.
But if I were to guess, you would lose it.

You could always be on the safe side and sbf...

No it will not unless you sbf or use an AIO. I am on cricket network and I flash custom roms all day. The only thing I have to do is setup internet and Mms. If your not familiar with setting anything up after a flash I wouldn't flash a new rom until you find out more about it. I believe metro doesn't use proxy so all you would have to do is flash a rom and use endokis mms fix found in the Eris forums. Sorry I can't help u out any further tho. Good luck....

You will not loose the flash but you will loose internet and mms. I have done this 2 times.
What would need to be done if I ran a different ROM to get my mms and internet to work or is it a lost cuase? I guess worse case scenario is flashig it back to stock.

Before you flash it download apn backup and restore and back up your apns. I usually use tokens V10 flashable zip that modifies certain areas so mms would work. The rom I have that is really fast and 100% working with cricket is Rumm Rx 1.0.

Droid x forgot pin lock custom Rom

My friends Droid x is rooted and he set up a pass lock on it but he has since forgotten it. Without having a custom Rom I believe it's possible to sign in your gmail account in order to unlock the screen however there isn't an option to do so. Is there a way to bypass this or is the only other option to boot into recovery and start all over? Any help would be appreciated.

If its like most adb it root it flash a custom rom simple as rhat
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 that's shiny new rooted overclocked and scored a 2700 on quad so suck it up using XDA App
He is running the gummyjar rom already..

Restore a backup? Or adb into the phone and reflash the current custom ROM.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Agreed with droid user...there is a app that you can use from adb to install it and it will bypass the lockscreen once you reboot it

I'm sorry but what's adb? How would you do that? Link to a tutorial?

Just sbf and restore backuo

If you keep trying random pins, it'll eventually give you the option to sign in with your Google account if you get it wrong enough times

[Q] Custom Recoveries?

Is there not a way to permanently install a custom recovery on the dx? running bootstrap over and over again is really annoying... I used to use the incredible and that was a nice permanent recovery menu. I tried searching for it but all I get is this z4 root bull s%#t and no custom recovery. Am I just missing it or is bootstrapp the only way?
Lol I messed up on a rom flashing and now everytime I boot up the custum bootloading screen pops up. But other then that Idk if there is one

I figured it was... That's such bs I wonder what prevents it from being permanent? It seems like the htc incredible has a much more definite root process. everything else I've dealt with seems half assed. Like Z4 root and even the samsung root doesn't seem very permanent... I don't know its seems as if I have so much more control over my incredible. Maybe im crazy.

It's mainly the Droid X's locked bootloader. On 2nd init roms we have a more (and I use more very loosely) permanent recovery.
But until we have a solution to the locked bootloader nothing can happen to give us that completely permanent recovery.

In your oppinio what are the best blurless roms for the dx? Im looking for something like CM7.

Cm7 itself is great on the Droid X =P I am currently on MIUI, and I personally think it's the greatest thing ever. There are few roms that are truly blurless.
If you're looking for a stock based rom, I've heard wonderful things about DarkslideX. Of course, it's a blur rom, though.

Milestone X root

Hi everyone I have a rooted evo and I've rooted and unrooted a couple times and I am very compfortable with flashing roms because I do it all the time. My boss has a milestone x and she wants me to root it for her. I was wondering if someone could give me a list of roms that are stable and work well on milestone x also hotspot working! Also is there an amonra recovery I can put on. If anyone has the files I will need to root that would be great. On my Evo I just unrevoke then flash amonra and a Rom and its in business. Is there a big change on how to root this? Thanks a lot Droidxers I really appreciate it!

I recently purchased a milestone x the gingerbreak app worked for me
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
I rooted mine using SuperOneClick root and it worked easily!
As for a working ROM I have read that it is a long process to make Droid X ROM's work with our APN's and it is possible to get stuck with Verizon's network so I haven't even tried it.
What I have done that has made the experience much different is install some apps and script's that 180'ed the stock ROM and make it feel like a completely different device.
Well this is what I did, I searched gingerbreak on 4shared . Com website, downloaded, open it, then press root. The root is successful when it turns off, if it doesn't work redownload another apk..
For the CMW recovory..I searched droid x bootstrapper, again on 4 shared..pressed bootstrap recovery, then reboot recovery.
Far as custom roms go its not many that work on Milestone X, Liberty 2.0.1 does with no tweakin..
Miui and Cm7 works with a script kernel tweak seen here http://www.youtube.com/watch?nomobile=1&v=vxZ7cBt2K-Q you just have to delete the Verizon kernel script with notepad and save the changes..the exact tutorial is under "show more" under the video..that should work

Fascinate on cricket

My bro just got a fascinate that has been flashed to cricket and wants me to flash a custom ROM. I am not a noob when it comes to flashing, but I'm on at& and never messed with a cdma phone and I was just wondering if there's anything different about flashing on cdma vs Sim phones? Also because its a Verizon phone that's been flashed to cricket can I still use any ROM?eg cm7, cm9, or miui. Any help would be appreciated. I don't want to brick my bros phone. Thanks.

If you want to know how to flash this phone check out droidstyle's guide in this section. As far as the cricket stuff I can't say, maybe someone else can chime in...

Thanks for your reply. I have looked at that thread and I'm good with all that... Just need to know if it will mess up the cricket flash...

Yes you will lose flash if you put a different Ron on the phone. Cm7 does not allow thouch tones diag screen. You would need a different Rom. I am just running stock rooted and flashed.
