I am gonna hate the day i will do the same....
I love that phone so badly!!!
aaarrggghhhh. But a 4.65 inch 720P Nexus 4 seems to be a dream...
let see!!
I tried to say goodbye once. But I just couldn't do it, ended up selling the g2x.

Really like Nexus one, I think it is still one of the best designed Android phone.
nexus one
+ WORKING MULTI-TOUCH SCREEN
+ a slide-out qwerty keyboard
+ 4.0" rather than 3.7" screen
+ more ROM space and RAM and improved CPU and GPU
+ dedicated camera button
+ dedicated call and end buttons (no idea why phones no longer use these)
until this phone comes out, im sticking with my n1
I made it to my there to say goodbye
i still have my nexus one and i want to upgrade to the galaxy nexus. but to be honest i am quite sad because i do not want to leave my phone that has so much great memories in it same reason i did not buy any other phone till now
My NExus one died yesterday night, it fell on its screen and hit the corner of a wooden desk, it was such a hard fall that the screen shattered from the inside and now its just black.
I was literally this close to crying for it, and if i wasn't a grown man, i wouldve shamelessly wept over it!
The touch screen still works perfect, but its just black screen
Guess I'll get a samsung galaxy S2, I liked the galaxy nexus, but its pretty much the same, only the s2 has a micro sd and 8 mp over the galaxy nexus
And with cyanogen, am sure we'll be seeing the ICS ported out reaaallllyyy soon
You're not the only one, I dropped my Nexus about a 5 min walk from house yesterday and now I have spiderglass, touch screen still works though.
Was thinking about the Galaxy Nexus also but it wasn't what I thought it would be so I am gonna go with a SGS2 also.
Its a curse how many of us most of broke our phones on the Nexus Galaxy launch day.
My thoughts exactly!
It's just that having the being obsoleted hardware buttons would probably suck especially if it's a new phone. Thoughts?

Well, actually you are keep both of them, one for day-use in front of the public, the other one for bed time.
Sold my N1 as well. Damn fine phone, but I got a good deal on a Nexus S. I decided to jump while I could get a decent sale price on the N1. There are some things I do miss like that goofy trackball. You get used to LED notifications and having a physical button for pictures.
LED notifications are awesome...
Black screen
I have a glass shattered N1 but its just not powering on , when you guys say "touch screen works , but black screen " means does it vibrate and power on or nothing happens when you power it on ....
I wish I never sold my N1.. people are telling me it's worth quite a buck even now!!!
I miss the trackball, and the LED glowing different colours lol
And the AMOLED screen! (awesome for it's time, and although Samsung still looks after us there, I have a HTC Desire HD with crappy LCD now)
Although I heard that later N1s came with a SuperLCD instead of AMOLED, following the shortage loooool
Main reason I sold it was because it only gave 128MB of app memory (as opposed to Desire HD's over 1GB, and newer phones slightly more). Even with Apps2SD (to move the majority of app data to SD card), it still wasn't enough for the hundreds of apps I wanted. Oh well..
Such a great phone. I dont want to think about the day ill have to part with it.
Anybody else trying to hold out for the Nexus 4?
Hang in there! We got Ice Cream Sandwich to squeeze some more life out of our N1s!
I'm going to at least get my hands sticky with ICS on the N1 before making any big decisions.
Lol, I have tried to replace the Nexus one two days back with the Motorola RAZR but I could not do it. Though as I could not return it and had to exchange it I got the Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE and this seems to be a quite persuasive phone. The only problem I have ever had with the Nexus one is the calls voice quality on my N1 handset. I am more convinced its my handset not every N1 as some of my friends claimed a great quality voice calls on theirs, but fixing that will be messy . Though no the N1 is not going to away, its just will be my secondary phone for my personal phone . Maybe you can call it he is upgraded .

I compromised on the desireble specs to buy Nexus S only coz Google put their stamp on it. I seriously dont understand why Google will pick Samsung (is it the super AMOLED display or something else). HTC has far better workmanship n service compared to Samsung -they r in such a rush to inundate the market with phones that their is no quality control or post sales service.
Ley me put it this way I'm never gonna buy Samsung phone again. Bought 3 of their flagship best phones in last 3 years n let down all 3 times
1. Samsung Omnia when it came out from Europe $ 600
2. Samsung i8910 (first with Amloed Display) again form europe for $700
3. Nexus S $571
I've used samrtphone for last 12 year from Palm 180 to everything, and i would say Samsung are the worst.
Back to my Nexus 1 n wating eagrly for upgrade.
Opinions are like assholes...
...Everyone has one LOL
... and their full of sh#t!
Seriously tho does anyone even give a damn about these "I h8 NS!" threads besides the trolls?
Samsung is doing a fine job manuacturing their phones, I'm glad I don't have to deal with TouchPiss anymore.
Google probably went with Samsung over HTC because:
- They use the Hummingbird processor, HTC doesn't.
- They're the only ones with Super AMOLED technology.
- HTC is getting their pants sued off by Apple.
- Google is trying to diversify.
- Contractual/agreement issues, who knows.
- Maybe HTC didn't want to parter again in the first place.
i am glad Google went with Samsung this time. People who own Nexus One know that the touchpad that HTC used was a ****ing fiasco. Also, this is my biggest pet peeve virtually on all HTC phones they use the crappiest quality speakers.
Sounds like the OP needs to look up the definition of "insanity" with regards to his repeated purchases of Samsung products.

I'll have to say the speaker quality on this Samsung is far better than the one on my G1. The touch screen is much more responsive than on the G1 and registers better. Of course it is a million times faster than the G1. Also, I don't need to root and modify the hell out of just to make it work remotely close to other phones.
I am impressed do far.
Only complaints, no LED notifications (knew this going in), and my wireless signal is weaker on this phone than it was on my G1 or any other wireless device in my house. Not sure what's up with that. Also, that it doesn't take advantage of T-Mobiles HSPA+. I knew this as well going in.
I don't do much mobile browsing anyway, but do like to show of videos with friends and that can be a downside. Though T-Mobile is as much to blame as a manufacturer not supporting it (read T-Mobile just sucks sometimes).
Good for you that you returned your Nexus S. Thanks for sharing. Now move on to a different forum. Or do you require some counseling for your loss?
I went from rooting the Nook color, got hooked on Android, and then bought the Nexus S. I couldn't be happier. Pure Google! Customize! No cell carrier branding! 2.3! Oh no, they have a quad core with a kitchen sink plug in, I must return my Nexus S!
Take care all. Looking forward to all the mods and roms.
Perhaps somebody should start a "I'm not returning my Nexus S, I'm perfectly happy with it" thread....

I have to agree. The ONLY thing I don't like about my Nexus S is that I'll have to put a screen protector on it because it doesn't have Gorilla Glass.
I wish they'd saved whatever cash they spent creating curved glass and just used Gorilla Glass instead.
I have Nexus S as well as Desire HD and I can tell you signal strength is far better on the Nexus S. HTC have shocking antenna problems on every Android. Still love the HD but the Nexus poops all over it.

U still need screen protector on Gorrila. It CAN get scratched, I suppose its just more crack resistant

Got rid of vibrant.
Upgraded to g2. The hinge is just horrible. It wobbles even with keyboard closed.
Got rid of g2. Got nexus one.
Trackball broke. Wifi didn't work no matter what rom I flashed. They sent me a new one even though I bought it off cl.
Got rid of nexus one got mytouch 4g.
It's a good phone. the materials they used is really good. But comes with too many qc issues.
Such as deadpixel loose battery cover. Washed out screen, off centered front facing camera, button makes squeaky sounds.
I had to send it in 5 times to get a good screen..but still had other problems such as slightly loose battery cover, light leaks, off centered front facing camera. Got rid of it and got vibrant. Couldn't be any happier.
Never leaving my vibrant.
shows that samsung has good products. but non existent customer service
The Vibrant is very so-so. 6 months into ownership, my battery (which was never spectacular to begin with) is showing signs of wear and tear.
I am currently looking and waiting for my next phone.
Samsung's (lack of) updates due to their re-releasing of the Vibrant (first as the Nexus S, and now as the Vibrant Plus). Has soured me on the brand. I am going to take a very hard look at Motorola's offerings. Hopefully T-mobile will get a decent Moto phone in (NOT the cliq or the cliq 2).
HTC has been resting on their laurels a little bit.... I expect to have bought a new device by June or July.
Grass isnt always green-er on the other side. I like the vibrant but I will upgrade when a high end physical keyboard phone comes out. I wish the samsung epic was gsm.

I called Samsung...........and they asked me "what's customer service?"
I will say that this is the best phone I have had since i migrated away from blackberry, granted this is the only the first android device i have owned but not the only one that i have played around with. I will say that the lack of support directly from T-mobile and Samsung is disappointing, however the support from developers and fellow members on xda more than makes up for it.
Same here. I like my Vibrant. I have heard over and over HTC, Motorola owners wish again and again they had a Vibrant.
I wish they didn't name the Vibrant Plus the same name as the Vibrant! FFC, nor 4g will get my to purchase. I'm holding out for an 8px camera, and a dual core.
I'm keeping my eye on phones like the Optimus 2X from LG. HTC has some promising offerings.
I like Samsungs hardware, I just don't like how they treat their customers.
No doubt, I LOVE my Vibrant... It is Samsung's politics/strategy/lack of compliance (open handset alliance) that has me annoyed.
like I said in the past, Samsung should make the hardware. leave the software updates to google.

G2 - not sure what the big deal with the loose hinge is, I don't have a problem with mine and I def don't use my phone upside down.
Nexus One - looks like there's nothing wrong with it after the exchange then but the phone is pretty outdated now It still has fantastic build quality though.
MyTouch - agreed on the QC problem; if you do get a perfect one though, you'd prob be happy with it.
I'm happy with my Vibrant right now after putting Nero on it, the only thing I have against it is the ****ty GPS.
^ agreed, the Nexus One I have is absolutely the best built phone, and most comfortable that I have ever held.
I just came to the Vibrant from a MyTouch Slide. The Slide is a decent phone, but the hardware was outdated from the start, and now it's still waiting for the 2.2 update while original MyTouches have received it.
I'm giving up on manufacturer updates altogether. Root, apply rom of choice, enjoy.

That's what I thought wwhen I bought the g2. But I don't use my phone upside down. It wobbles when I touch the screen. The upper part(one with the screen) moves up and down. Wobbles like hell.
Nexus one.- yea I got like a brand new one. didn't have much warranty left so got rid of it since I am not going to pay 60 dollars to fix the power button. Nexus one slcd has a power button flaw.after a while your power button will stop working. And if you have nexus one you probably know about the screen..doesn't have the true multitouch.
Mytouch-yea but almost impossible to get a perfect one. Like I said to send it on many times just to get the screen that doesn't wash out.
When I got it I was happy then I found bout the light leaks and ffc off centered loose battery cover.

I played with several 4 inch screen devices and it was JUST TOO SMALL! Now, I'm considering screen size > 4 inches pretty much as a MUST have option.
I'm considering devices like the Acer Liquid (with the 4.8 inch screen) and the Samsung SGH-i997 Infuse 4G (yea right ATT!!) which has a 4.5 inch super AMOLED.
Am I the only one who's been SPOILED ROTTEN by the Streak's 5 inches ????
Nope, I'm right there with you. Those 4" screens, now, appear too small for my eyes.
My wife's Captivate seems tiny when I pick it up. I am really glad I got the Streak.
My Nexus One just seems TINY in my hands now. I love that ppl ask "what is that thing" and I have to explain that it can make phone calls! LOL.
And to be sure, if there were a 5.5" phone, hell, maybe even 6" if it would fit in my pocket, I would jump all over it.

I can TROOLY testify to that. Once I got my grabby hands on The Streak, there's no going back to anything with a smaller screen. I tried using my old HTCTilt2, just couldnt do it.

Exactly, I experienced the same.
One day I went to phones market, the seller tried to offer me Galaxy Tab, I said it is too big. He offered me Samsung Ace, I said it is tooo small and asked him, do you have something in the middle. I agree with you guys,I freaking love when I go to the bar sometimes and enjoy my drink and my Streak. It is so much fun to get online with it or when I am on my recliner at home,my wife used to make fun of me but now when she sees her little android phone she thinks is so small.Even people at work don't make fun of me at all,I let them play with it and now they are all jealous.
I am extremely happy with the rooted Streak and I don't think I could go with anything smaller that 5'.Now I am just waiting for Netflix someday just to make it even better.
Mine seems to get smaller everyday.
Im looking for a 7" (scrren size), hopefully not more than 8" overall; for a tabletphone. Streak 7 has an article with amazons upcoming releases, it says a Samsung and Acer 7" device both with Froyo in March/April 2011. Anyone heard more about these devices
Ideally I would love to have the front mostly all screen, with minimum rom for buttons, mic and front cam etc.
other wishes for my 7" dream phone: 1.2 ghz dual core, 1gb ram, HD graphics, 1200x800 res. , HD front and back cams, oh yeah and 4G whenever AT&T upgrades.
pros and cons either way..
i will say..when i have been geeking on the streak for a week or so and switch back to my hd2 it feels like a novelty item or toy...lol
but truth be told i am not a LARGE man...so the streak is a bit much for a pocket or day to day calling... at least for me..that and the camera flash is pathetic...the camera is ONLY good in well lit or daylight shooting...
NOTE TO DELL..if you want to sell and manufacture phones... use a good camera and music player...
if you cant get either of those right just hang it up .....
All phones are to small now i love my streak
I'm sure you have experienced this one. I use a BT 100% of the time. I'm constantly for work reasons, on the phone, and have to look something up. Most of the time, when I hang up, someone will say "is that your phone"? And they they say "hey xxxxxx", come look at this, THIS is a phone!
Most of the time, it gets passed to 2-3 people that have to put their phone on top of the screen and say "his screen is bigger than my entire phone".

I'm liking the Streak for it's pocketability, not so much for the screen size. I had a Galaxy Tab and it does have a phone in it, it's just disabled by default in North America. I flashed a ROM on it to make the phone work and was using it all winter.
The only problem is it's only speakerphone without a Bluetooth(SpaceMan)Headset.
Besides a 7" Device would look kinda stupid being held up to your head.
I do miss the HUGE 4000mAH Battery though. Better screen resolution too.

Is it just me or is the nexus just sexiest phone. not trolling just every time i see one i want it. best looking by far.
I remove mine from its case as soon as I get home, just can't stand its looks being spoiled It might also just be me but it feels seriously slick as well!
I like the simplicity of it. No chrome, bezels, etc. Not that those are necessarily bad things but depending on the design, sometimes it gets cluttered.
the nexus is freaking beautiful. prob the nicest phone i've ever had or seen. i have it out of the case now just to enjoy using it naked! i actually hate this though because i keep avoiding upgrading to a new phone cause none are as good as the n1, but at some point i will have to switch!
I agree. Nexus One is one of the sexiest looking devices out there :drools:
I was real sad that I had to sell my Nexus One because of the T-mobile/Att merger but, outside of a white iPhone 4, no other phone even comes close

You didn't have to sell your phone because of the merger, not yet at least. The merger hasn't even started yet. Maybe in a year or two it will be necessary, but a lot will change over that time.
It's extremely sexy! Just ask the girls at AVN!
I was in love with my vibrant--then I got an N1 for my other line and I kinda neglect the sammy goodness now. The vibe is definitely jealous.
I like it but I think it would look so much better with the G2's trackpad that lights up!
If there ever is an HTC nexus 2 I hope they simply update and refine the Nexus Ones look and features but don't do something extreme and for the love of God keep the damn trackpad, or a trackball.

I have to agree with you and have said this in other forums... the N1 is the sexiest consumer electronics device so far in my opinion. I like the industrial design of the iPad 1 and the iPhone 4 a lot, but this phone just feels so good in the hand and its metal casing and soft touch accents make me never put a case on it just because I love the slim form factor in my hand and pocket too much. only thing I did was keep an invisibleShield on it at all times.
I think I actually prefer the look of the a HTC Pyramid a little more than the Nexus One. The simplicity of the Nexus S has also caught my eye. Overall the Nexus One may win... however, if Apple made a cell-phone sized iPad, I think I would prefer that to anything else hands-down. The original HTC Desire is also nice looking...
I love my Nexus One!
It's Teflon® coating looks simply stunning.
I probably won't upgrade until HTC Pyramid is out and about.
Up until now only the nexus one and the pyramid made me call them "sexy".

I like the Pyramid design. It's very similar. The Thunderbolt/Aspire are nearly as nice as my N1. I really like my case it shows off the front, but it's still not as sleak and nexy as it is w/o it!
I love the trackball. It will never be the same w/o it!
Those samsung phones are Uugly!
Love the teflon coating ... very unique.
No doubt when I got it I bought it along with ATT captivate. I almost wanted to sell my n1 over my captivate. I was crazy I tell you crazy. But yeah phone is not too big but perfect. I like it Alot cuz you can mod. I love modding. Cars, bikes and my phone. Lol.

I applied a Dbrand black leather sticker on the back glass and that just made the phone feel more professional.. almost like a blackberry 9900. (but more functional) My question is, has anyone found a phone that can shake a stick at the nexus 4 as far as fit and function. I have a Htc One and i am thinking of returning it because I see myself using the nexus 4 and leaving the one at home more often then not.

I have a Htc One and i am thinking of returning it because I see myself using the nexus 4 and leaving the one at home more often then not.

I'm a fan of the N4 but you have to be realistic. There are plenty of phones now which can easily be considered better than it (e.g. HTC One, S4, LG OG Pro, Xperia Z) and while none of them are anywhere near as good a deal as the N4, most are better phones for the majority. Only a few people actually care about updates outside of XDA and don't really know how awesome stock Android is compared to other UIs.

Yes it's too good
I wasn't really impressed with the S4 or the HTC one tbh. Overpriced for basically the same specs you get with the N4. Samsung phones are loaded with bloat now,and feel like a hollow plastic toy. You can hardly tell its android anymore with the TW bloat interface. Yea the HTC one has a nice build quality, but is it really worth shelling out almost 700$ for? I don't think so. I will never buy another non nexus device again. (All personal opinion) I am extremely happy with my N4. I haven't had 1 single issue with it. I get 2.5 days of heavy use and about 5 hours screen on time with my ROM kernel combo. And for 350$ you cant beat it.
Keep the Nexus, return the One.

Now the rumors of the Note 3 being like 6 inches or so, now that's comical.
The current 5.5 is fine to me.

Yea don't get me wrong, it is a really nice phone. The screen is large and vibrant. The specs are great. I just think its too large, by the time you get a case on it, its even bigger. It would drive me nuts in my pocket.
