Is it just me or is the nexus just sexiest phone. not trolling just every time i see one i want it. best looking by far.
I remove mine from its case as soon as I get home, just can't stand its looks being spoiled It might also just be me but it feels seriously slick as well!
I like the simplicity of it. No chrome, bezels, etc. Not that those are necessarily bad things but depending on the design, sometimes it gets cluttered.
the nexus is freaking beautiful. prob the nicest phone i've ever had or seen. i have it out of the case now just to enjoy using it naked! i actually hate this though because i keep avoiding upgrading to a new phone cause none are as good as the n1, but at some point i will have to switch!
I agree. Nexus One is one of the sexiest looking devices out there :drools:
I was real sad that I had to sell my Nexus One because of the T-mobile/Att merger but, outside of a white iPhone 4, no other phone even comes close

You didn't have to sell your phone because of the merger, not yet at least. The merger hasn't even started yet. Maybe in a year or two it will be necessary, but a lot will change over that time.
It's extremely sexy! Just ask the girls at AVN!
I was in love with my vibrant--then I got an N1 for my other line and I kinda neglect the sammy goodness now. The vibe is definitely jealous.
I like it but I think it would look so much better with the G2's trackpad that lights up!
If there ever is an HTC nexus 2 I hope they simply update and refine the Nexus Ones look and features but don't do something extreme and for the love of God keep the damn trackpad, or a trackball.

i agree with you, but it wont happen. HTC will do every single thing opposite of what we want, and then do things nobody would have cared about in the first place. i'd bet money on it!!
i'm sure they'll remove the trackball and give no notifications, then make some solid back so no extended battery possible.

I have to agree with you and have said this in other forums... the N1 is the sexiest consumer electronics device so far in my opinion. I like the industrial design of the iPad 1 and the iPhone 4 a lot, but this phone just feels so good in the hand and its metal casing and soft touch accents make me never put a case on it just because I love the slim form factor in my hand and pocket too much. only thing I did was keep an invisibleShield on it at all times.
I think I actually prefer the look of the a HTC Pyramid a little more than the Nexus One. The simplicity of the Nexus S has also caught my eye. Overall the Nexus One may win... however, if Apple made a cell-phone sized iPad, I think I would prefer that to anything else hands-down. The original HTC Desire is also nice looking...
I love my Nexus One!
It's TeflonĀ® coating looks simply stunning.
I probably won't upgrade until HTC Pyramid is out and about.
Up until now only the nexus one and the pyramid made me call them "sexy".

I like the Pyramid design. It's very similar. The Thunderbolt/Aspire are nearly as nice as my N1. I really like my case it shows off the front, but it's still not as sleak and nexy as it is w/o it!
I love the trackball. It will never be the same w/o it!
Those samsung phones are Uugly!
Love the teflon coating ... very unique.
No doubt when I got it I bought it along with ATT captivate. I almost wanted to sell my n1 over my captivate. I was crazy I tell you crazy. But yeah phone is not too big but perfect. I like it Alot cuz you can mod. I love modding. Cars, bikes and my phone. Lol.

I was offered a trade for my Evo and 100 bucks for an Epic and the money isn't really THAT much of an issue but I wanted to know would I regret it in terms of not as many roms for support for the Epic or is the community as large and as Nice.
I did enjoy holding on in the store and if you look at my past posts I'm not a troll trying to start a debate I just want honest opinions. Would you go with the epic if you owned and Evo and why?

While we may not have as many devs tha evo users have, we do have some very good devs that do amazing work. We don't have 100 roms and kernels but we don't need 100, the roms we have are blazing. If you can i'd pick up the epic over the evo

I just came from the EVO a week ago. 2 things I don't like so far about the Epic are the charger plug being on the top of the phone and selecting text is not nearly as easy as on the EVO. The main thing that irritates me is the charger port placement. When I use the phone while charging the cord dangles annoyingly in my face. The text selecting is not going to be an issue once I'm rooted of course. Other than those things the Epic is a far superior phone imo. To add to the other post of pros, I'm getting much better battery life with the Epic compared to the EVO.

Awesome I think i'm going to make this deal happen before the guy gets second thoughts lol. I agree about it not needing as many roms as long as I can play my Galcon and Angry birds on it i'm good.
I really don't care for a physical keyboard as I haven't had a phone with one since the samsung instinct (went from the Instinct to the s30 to the Hero to the iPhone to the Nexus One to the Evo. And throw in a couple of Blackberries here and there along the way. lol) Swype and even swift keyboard work quicker for me than a physical keyboard. Maybe i'll get re aquatinted with it now.
I too like to change phone often. I was on the exact same boat a couple weeks ago when someone offered to trade my EVO for an Epic. The only thing we kept was our memory cards. In the beginning I was regretting as the charger cable got in my way, less development, and felt less sturdy. But after warming up to it a definetly prefer it. The screen is gorgeous and the hummingbird is defintely faster then snapdragon stock. I do miss 2.2 but it should come in november. Noobnl is also working on porting cynogen 6.1 so that's exciting news on the rom front. Just my 2cents. Enjoy!

I got my evo on launch day. Before the end if its days it was running cm6 rc1. U got my epic on release and it us far superior then running my evo with cm6. I haven't looked back now regretted making the switch. I think u used the physical key board once. I love having swype put installed. I didn't like how the swype beta worked on the evo

The Epic is better then the evo in specs across the board, the rest is personal preferences.
im coming over from an evo and i dont regret it one bit..love the phone..even if its not on froyo yet i feel it performs better than the evo..i wasnt too big of a fan of touchwiz but with the launcher options that isnt even an issue..as far as the roms yes there arent many, but theres a few gems out right now and from what i understand the devs are hanging back until the update to froyo..so in my opinion i would say yes trade it for the epic but what i like you may not like
Well the deal was done and the selling point was the Evo section and showing the guy how to download rom after rom after rom for the Evo. I felt like putting my child up for adoption when he was holding my Evo and now the Epic is sitting in the corner like a pets first night in your home. Warming up to it in baby steps.
I do love the physical keyboard though. I think it was already broken in by the guy so it didn't feel stiff at all and my fat thumbs were having a field day. Now the next debate in my mind will be to Zagg shield or not to Zagg sheild. I wish they were universal because I wouldn't have given mine to him.
The case around it makes it bigger but has saved mine. Never used a screen prot. I've beat this thing up and havn't been able to hurt the screen. Crazy strong. I love the smooth glass feel. Can't do the protector. Good thing they used special glass.
The USB at the top is a hit and miss. I Never really ever charge it because I just switch out from my second Batt. I get a way better charge using the ext charger. Hold 100% for a good hour. But I can see it being a pain while using it.
But... if your plugging it in for the computer or in your car. Top is best. It will sit on the seat or in a slot/cup holder better.
I recommend a second Battery for every one.

Definitely agree. I picked up another one recently and it has been great. I use mine very very heavily and it usually only lasts around 9 hours. That's with heavy listening of music, texting, emails, etc... Definitely loving the fact that I never have to have it sit and charge

Lol I know what you mean. I had my Evo for awhile and bought an Epic a week after release. I switched back and forth on a regular basis between the Evo and Epic and always felt like I was cheating on the Evo. Finally made a committment today and sold my Evo for $425 and stuck with my mistress.
The only things I really miss about the Evo are some of the HTC apps as well as the sense widgets, mainly the email widget. Dont get me wrong the Evo was a great phone, but the Epic has a lot of features that won me over. Mainly the keyboard for playing games (Punch Out FTW!), the overall speed difference, and swype. I had swype on my evo, but there were always issues with it.

@a454nova: I did get an extra battery in the deal which was great for me. And I just realized how much better it is to have it charging from the top is in the car as i'm always driving. thanks for the obvious but I was oblivious to tip.
@chino0131: I have gotten used to not having them with the MIUI Rom for evo. Which was my favorite with the exception of Myns version 2.2. If you end up going from an Epic to an Evo I highly suggest the Myn rom. I also just got the dag-on desire animated flip clock on my evo. lol. I am going to miss sense and I must say the "Epic is better" is hogwash. Without the stats you wouldn't notice anything. But I am very happy with my Epic.
On another note, I'm still on the fence about getting a shield still. I'm going to look up the glass to see if it really is scratch resistant and what not. Can't wait for Froyo!
I reccomend getting a realook or clarivue screen protector over zagg. Zagg is thicker and more durable but the realook amd clarivue are super clear and thin and don't compromise the look of the screen at all and they feel almost as smooth as the glass screen. The screen is one of main selling point of the phone so u don't wanna comprimise the clarrity of the screen.

Where can I purchase these screen protectors? Are they only for sale online?
I went from an Evo to an Epic about a month ago or something. Overall I like the Epic, I'm just really starting to miss flash 10. I watch TV shows online all the time and can't do that anymore without froyo.
I think the Epic has better quality pictures. The screen is nice. The battery is longer, but I'm still waiting for my 2nd and 3rd batteries to come in the mail so I don't have to sit by an outlet before the end of the day.
My main selling point on the epic was the keyboard, which I sometimes get annoyed with when it doesnt recognize all the letters I type.
I had a screen protector on mine, but it keeps falling off so I finally just left it off. The way the glass feels and how the screen is unhindered is so much better, but I'm also paranoid of it getting scratched. Tough decision.
Overall, I'm dying for CM or a port of it. I like AOSP much more than any other launcher.

I put an eXtreme guard protector on my Epic, had the same kind on my moment.
If you put it on well, you can hardly tell its there. It's the kind that goes on with a little soapy water. They're $2.49 with free shipping now, I think I paid $3.99.
Has a much better feel then ones that are just stick on, again you can hardly tell it's there even when using it.

Alright my fellow Vibrant community, I need your input here.
My buddy is offering me a Nexus One in mint condition... for my Vibrant.
Now, here are the reasons I want to do it:
1. The amazing development that the Nexus has going. I mean, I was astonished that they had a myTouch port for the Nexus within days.
2. The nice build of the phone. We can't deny our phones are cheaply built, or at least feels that way.
3. Believe or not the screen. I love the sAMOLED, but it is just too hard on my eyes in dark environments.
4. And then little stuff like camera flash, trackball that changes colors with notifications, and the fact that the N1 literally is a collectors item.
There will be things I would miss such as the perfect size of the Vibrant's screen, the killer GPU, and I've also heard the N1's battery life isn't too great, but is there any reason I shouldn't do this?
I am not flaming the Vibrant, I just want your guys' thoughts on the whole situation.
What do you think?
I'd do it, because the Nexus One is worth more money on ebay and craigslist.
When the Nexus S comes out it'll be easier to trade up.
Ultimately, it's your choice!
Depends what you want to do with the nexus with it being the current dev phone & all. I'm sure you know what's available to you on the vibrant & what it's capable of. But if the nexus $ is true, then the vibrant "maybe" get the goodness of the next gen dev phone...
Think about it. GL!

Not if a port, even partially, is possible.
I have both and love them both,a lot. That said, all comes down to what you want. I like the size and display of the vibrant, but the nexus fits my hand like a glove.
The nexus is going to have gingerbread soon. Not any other phone can say that, currently.

how do the battery lives compares?
If I can get a decent battery life out of the Nexus, I think I might be done with the Vibrant
I actually think they are very similar (at least for me). I can't say I get better usage from one. I always have about 30% leftover at the end of my day, give or take depending on my day.

Actually I have an iPod touch and that's what it is, it's a toy. Even though it has better APIs than Blackberry, I still felt more productive using a Blackberry than iOS. Now Android is the killer of the three!! And the Note is just so awesome it makes EVERYTHING else a toy
bulky & heavy
I tries a mate's iPhone on Friday. it was very heavy, compared to the Note, and very small.
He had a largish case around it wiuth a backup battery built in. Great idea, but the whole thing was quite bulky compared to the Note.
Why were we comparing? He was going to buy a Note (ever since he saw mine), and wanted to swap to play with it

I love the solid feeling that my iPhone gives me, the glass and the steel lead the user into thinking and feeling as though it is a premium product. This is one of the genius of Apple. Make people feel something for their device, and you will sell a ton.
I love my Note, but it feels so flimsy and cheap compared to my iPhone 4(jailbroken). I love how the software is designed over iOS, and though it is more limited without my jailbreak, most of my non tech friends would never make use of the extra anyway.
Battery life is about the same. The Note is the first Android Phone that can compete with the iPhone 4 in terms of battery life.(Though now the MaXX can too I guess) but they of course have almost double the battery size(though they needs it with the larger screens and the 4g radio in the Max's case)
While my friends do marvel at the size of the Note, they do see that unless they have large hands like me, they can't use it with one hand. This is usually a deal breaker. Especially for the ladies.
My Note is my everyday phone. But when I go out to the clubs, or on a date, the iPhone goes with me sans a case.
Whenever I try my girlfriends iPhone I almost laugh at how bad the screen is compared to my note. Feels like it's no contrast whatsoever.

Read my Post, SOLID FEELING. Just because something feels solid does not mean it will hold up better on a drop. In-fact the more rigid a material is, the more likely it will bust when impacted. Such as Glass vs Plastic. But in the hand, the FEELING of glass is far more pleasing than Plastic. I often handle my phones as I would pass a coin from finger to finger as in fiddling motion. The Note creeks and bends as I do that, the iPhone is solid and non-yielding.
I don't drop my phones. And If I did, that's why I have a square trade warranty. on both.
Thank you, for making my point.

I hate Apple, and I always will. I will never buy from Apple or support it at all...but I really wish there where Android phones that had the same hardware quality as Apple. I love my Atrix, but squeeze it, it creaks. The back is flimsy, the camera lens scratches and its all soo plasticity, and a lot of Android phones are like this. All plastic, creaky, and over all compare to Apples phones, just horribly cheep feeling. I love Android an would never move to Apple, but I still would really love an Android phone that matched iPhone 4/4s or especially iPhone 5 quality. Just don't think it'll ever happen though, sadly.
That's why hardware-wise, Apple will always dominate in that category.
I don't care what anyone says otherwise. Take off your green colored glasses if you disagree.

If they dominate the category so much, why is it that 45%ish of iphones I see people with are cracked all to hell? Nokia, they continue to have arguably the best build quality in the industry. Counterpoint-- the only thing apple does that gives the impression that they have the ability to create a solid phone is that they only produce one product. Given that fact, they're phone should be much better in every area than it actually ever is.

The part that cracks is maybe 3$ to replace online. 2 screws at the bottom. People need to put cell phones in cases regardless because no cell phone without a case is going to withstand a 4 foot drop without some damage.

No thanks, I don't want my nice looking phone to be hidden beneath some ugly case. I actually had a case on my Atrix once. Broke in 2 weeks. The Atrix itself has actually taken more damage that that case without much harm. I probably just had a bad case, though. It sure was ugly.
Atrix is actually a very nice compromise between aesthetics and tank phone. Part of the process when I pick a phone is how it looks and feels. A case changes that. Its not about looking cool or showing off. That implies I give a damn what others think.. I digress. Be ninja. Your phone is too important to drop, not to mention too damned expensive, but atrix can take it.
I've seen people holding cracked iPhones too.. usually they're also holding a joint and a skateboard. Or five things in each hand while simultaneously trying to make a call. can't blame that on apple fellas

There's a big difference between a completely shattered screen vs a small flake of paint coming off of my phone from a 4 foot drop. I had an iphone 3g that the screen was completely shattered and the back shell cracked from tripping over a rock and my iphone flung. Had the same thing happen with my atrix and just a lil paint came off (and my atrix bounced and hit the side of my house) neither had cases.... moral of the story drunk txting is bad
But yeah anyway, iphones dont have the best track record when it comes to hardware durability and I want to know where you're buying a screen shipped for $3 that's as good of quality as the origional... and to your comment about the iphone 4g, I've had a sales rep sit on his brand new iphone 4gs and it shattered his screen (again no case was on the phone). I've done that several times with my atrix and a nokia with no issues.

This is what I thought until I dropped the phone from chest hight onto a concrete car park floor. Gorilla glass is structurally very tough and flexible but doesn't like impact and will break along micro scratches caused by leaving your phone face down on any gritty surface. I just got a black tpu case that has a nice lip around the screen edges but is otherwise nice and discrete. I can use my lapdock fine as it fits perfectly with the connections after removing the plastic tray and it cost me around Ā£2. I love not having a case but it's so damn hard locating good replacement digitizers for the atrix I would rather play it safe.
As for apple hardware, it does seem pretty good quality, the I phone 4/s had a really nice weight to it and I have no doubt that the new device will feel more solid than most devices on the marked (excluding the lumia devices ) how this relates to their ruggedness I'm not sure (putting a glass back on a phone really is stupid ) still I would love a sapphire crystal over my camera lense! Android manufacturers really do need to up the quality though, a phone goes with you everywhere and needs to be fairly rugged. Although the Atrix is pretty decent I do wish it was more solid.

You can consider Razr series for the best build quality. Backcase made by kevlar and housing full of metal.

Using that atrocity in public would be like saying you enjoy a well placed kick in the nuts when deep down inside you really know you hate it.

Since this a topic about iPhone vs Atrix 4G, I would like to have your opinion on the following. Currently I am not flowing with cash, and I have an iPhone 3G - I saw the Atrix 4G 16GB unlocked on ebay for like 228 (I am in Brazil so hence the unlock) So is the Atrix 4G a good phone (better than my 3G?) Can it run ICS or Jellybean thru custom roms off course, and how is it's gaming power?
Thanks

Well if want Android on iPhone that's the closest you're are ever going to get. Anyway it isn't even that bad, considering the screen is up to retina standards and has pretty good specs such as a Tegra 3. Anyway disregarding the fact that it's a fake iPhone, I bet the build quality is pretty good.

Me. It honestly depends what your intended use of a phone that is the final decision in this case. If you just want a phone that simply works, an IPhone is better, because its very limited in area to improve. Lots of restrictions, developer-wise.
If being able to improve performance in multiple aspects; Android all the way. What does the IPhone really offer when jailbroken? Tweaked themes? Sure, you can unlock it to be used on other carriers...but who wants just 3G?

HTC dominates in build quality too. My old Aria was perfect in build quality to me. I have never had a phone that had like problems with the hardware. I have always gotten lucky and gotten a phone that was made well!

Yeah, Crapple will always dominate in the crapPhone category.
Others are welcome to create their own categories which they do pretty well.
My fem uses her very special HTC Evo 3D. I want to see Crapple capable of creating a kind of similar device. Next century eventually?
I have been using my nexus 4 on at&t's network for a little over a month now and I cannot find one downfall of this phone... I applied a Dbrand black leather sticker on the back glass and that just made the phone feel more professional.. almost like a blackberry 9900. (but more functional) My question is, has anyone found a phone that can shake a stick at the nexus 4 as far as fit and function. I have a Htc One and i am thinking of returning it because I see myself using the nexus 4 and leaving the one at home more often then not.

I'm a fan of the N4 but you have to be realistic. There are plenty of phones now which can easily be considered better than it (e.g. HTC One, S4, LG OG Pro, Xperia Z) and while none of them are anywhere near as good a deal as the N4, most are better phones for the majority. Only a few people actually care about updates outside of XDA and don't really know how awesome stock Android is compared to other UIs.

Yes it's too good
I wasn't really impressed with the S4 or the HTC one tbh. Overpriced for basically the same specs you get with the N4. Samsung phones are loaded with bloat now,and feel like a hollow plastic toy. You can hardly tell its android anymore with the TW bloat interface. Yea the HTC one has a nice build quality, but is it really worth shelling out almost 700$ for? I don't think so. I will never buy another non nexus device again. (All personal opinion) I am extremely happy with my N4. I haven't had 1 single issue with it. I get 2.5 days of heavy use and about 5 hours screen on time with my ROM kernel combo. And for 350$ you cant beat it.
Keep the Nexus, return the One.

Now the rumors of the Note 3 being like 6 inches or so, now that's comical.
The current 5.5 is fine to me.

Yea don't get me wrong, it is a really nice phone. The screen is large and vibrant. The specs are great. I just think its too large, by the time you get a case on it, its even bigger. It would drive me nuts in my pocket.
