Eclair "Connection" Bar On Gingerbread - XPERIA X10 General

When Eclair was installed on my device, it came with what I'll call a "connection bar", that contained 4 icons, for different features (blue tooth, wifi, GPS and brightness, IIRC). It was a very convenient app to have. Is there a similar app/feature that works on Gingerbread?
Thanks in advance

Press and hold your home screen to add widget. Select 'power control' from widget list.
Enjoy!

Perfect. Thanks for the help (I guess it helps to know the actual names for these things)

Not a problem!

Setting one icon in the center?

My phone really only consists of 3 screens and I only use one icon for everything, which I have on my main home screen. Is there any way to place that icon in the center?
Since our phones only have space for four icons across, its kinda hard to place that in the center. I'm using launcherProPlus

Pretty sure you can change the amount of columns and rows using launcher pro. You can also resize icons using lpp as well
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Tried to use launcherpro, but no such luck
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
launcherpro 5x5
install with long press NOT add button (lets you choose icon)
should work
if not, do a 5x5, use a clear icon and either just "know' its there, or choose wallpaper that has an "icon like" look in the middle - trial and error to line up "invisible" icon to wallpaper
hint - use non scrolling wallpaper option
hope that helps
ps - i'm pretty new to this so there may be a better way - but this way does work

What do these symbols mean

I have no idea what these symbols mean can comeone help me out?
When you scrolll all the way to the rightmost screen at the top there are 5 symbols. THe first one on the left is wifi then next is bluetooth then the other 3 symbols idk what they mean.
One sort of looks like crosshairs, the other one has two arrows bent in the shape of a circle and the last one if the letter A in the middle of a symbol that look like the sun.
What the hell do these mean!!??

Thanks alot, WHen the GPS is lashing at the top what exactly does that mean, Is it just the phone getting its location or something? And what does backgraound data do. WHat is the difference between having it off or on?
Just to be clear the 2 arrows in a circle is auto sync, even with it deselected background data remains checked.

When its flashing it means its currently being used, if its not flashing then no application is using it. Your phone only uses the GPS when an app needs it
I think background data and auto sync means your weather, Facebook, e mails, etc. update by themselves every 30 mins or so

Im assuming you're using CM7.. this is customizable.
Settings -> CM Settings -> Interface -> Notification power widget
Want it off? Uncheck Notification power widget
To change whats there: Widget buttons.
Re-order: Widget button order.
When theres a light below it.... its on
No light.. its off.
Pretty much self-explanatory.

CM7 suggestion

Cyanogen should add a feature where if you press the battery icon in the notification bar, settings would come out for it in a windowed box belox the notification bar. Same for the time and if you had wifi on for example you could click it to go to the wifi settings page. That would be so awesome!

This would require a complete rewrite of fundamental android elements and would not be a task someone would most likely undertake.

You can do something similar to what you want if you use the notification power widget. You can add toggles for all sorts of setting that lie within your notification bar that are very easy to access. You can enable in in CM settings.
I don't see the tiny wifi or battery icons as being good shortcuts. If you really want to though, try submitting a feature request on the cm bugtracker. It will get noticed more there.
Not very finger friendly up in the corner imo

Sense 2.0, revert to 1.0 notification bar/menu?

I might be the only one that doesn't like the notification bar with the quick access menu and list of recently used apps. I prefer the old version coupled with using widgetsoid instead to have only the settings I want/need, and not take up half the pull-down menu with the recent apps.
Is it possible to revert only the notification bar, or delete the quick access/recent apps options?
Not sure but i love that bar it makes finding the app I use most often ez like wifi tether.

True, but how is it any different than holding down the home button for 2 seconds?
Its really not in any way but i always forget that you can hold down the home button for 2sec but i am constantly reminded where my recent apps are every time i get a text, email or missed call...... Maybe thats just me though i can see how you would not like it.

Yeah I hate that new pull down bar it was a good idea but I'm so use to using the home key that even on a GB ROM I still use the home key

Damn, assuming that no response can only mean that it's impossible. That's a shame, really liked sense beyond this issue.

Features you would like to see on the HTC One

Feel free to add your own!
- Ability to access Google Search with the phone sleeping. i.e. holding down the volume up key, or holding the htc logo, which will start a voice command
- Long press back button to kill current app
- A remove all button in Sense's running app list
- Show screen usage in power menu (HTC... What gives! And before you beat me with a stick, I am certainly aware of 3rd party options)
- Show the wallpaper behind the pattern unlock on the lock screen
- Ability to turn off the mounted 'CD ROM' drive that includes HTC windows software when plugging the device into a PC
- USB mass storage in recovery and inside Sense!
- Options for Beats Audio (eq?)
- Improve Blinkfeed with more customization so I won't have to resort to another launcher
I'll add more as I think of them.

Repeat and customisable notifications for missed calls and texts etc
GPS toggle on the quick settings area
Option to go straight pass-code screen when waking phone up

Multi window. Or a quick reply for SMS and Facebook etc. Sense can use a few extra features to complete with GS4 popularity
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
* improvement in blinkfeed feeds.
* improvement in blinkfeed as a widget allowing removal and resizing
* themes, if I wanted a phone that just wanted wallpapers as definition of customization I would have an iPhone
* basic stock editing features on photography suck as resize, brightness an contrast adjustment
* beats tweaking to support rock/ metal music a bit better
* video calling as an option?
* carousel on the pages
* better gallery setup/ settings, be nice if I didn't have to see what's posted on facebook in the gallery
* better Zoe quality and bug fixes on the frames when editing
* video having and editing tool with the option to export to Zoe
* video editing tool allowing us to zoom in on videos like Zoe

A number of these are available on viperone, with more being already requested and possibly implemented in future updates.

The thing I want the most is in blinkfeed, texts should pop up with a quick reply option built in. Kinda like how Ubuntu os handles their texts in the notification panel.

Yeah, I was using ViperOne for a while. It was nice. I prefer Google Edition ROMs though. That's about the only thing missing from SinLess that would make it perfect.

Great idea!
Why add weight to the Rom when many of these desired features are available through third party apps? People once complained that Sense was bloated. So they trimmed it down.
