Hey Guys......
So, ive been trying to update my nook to 1.3
I came from 1.2 and then just started flashing nightlies and had a bunch of stuff on my nook.
For some reason its stuck on a black screen with the nook logo in the middle and is stuck there. I dont know if anyone is having trouble with manualnooters for the 1.3...but i need some help especially if you got it working for you!

What? If you are on a nightly, how do you propose to "update" to 1.3?

sorry guys, i got it to work again, now i dont have the android market on my phone anymore, anyway to fix this??
You're in the themes/apps section, so you won't get a whole lot of exposure for your concern. CWM 3.0.0.5 is for Gingerbread, if you are going to stock you'll need to revert to CWM 2.x.
Are you reverting to a nandroid of the stock ROM or are you downloading a fresh version? Is the Market the ONLY Google app that is not working? What about gmail or gtalk?

You need to Fastboot flash the old recovery. The new recovery only works with 2.3 roms not 2.2 roms

use 3.0.0.6, from the development section, you can flash 2.2 and 2.3 roms.
You can find the google app to by instaling gapps which you will find on cyangenmod listed with the link to cm7, just flash it no wipes just drop it in and then when you reboot itll offer the option to setup market, do to some proprietary information rules or laws or whatever cm7 doesnt include it in the rom
I have used autonooter 3.0 to root my NC. I see that v1.2 is out for Flash etc...If I update the software to 1.2 will that take root off so I will have to do the autonooter again? Thanks, I am rather new to this.

You first have to take your Nook Color back to stock, unrooted 1.1, then install the 1.2 update. There is no autonooter yet for 1.2, but manual roots are in an advanced stage of development.
Thanks. I have also read that B&N has started distributing the upgrade over the net via wifi. How do you turn off updates over wifi on the NC?

I've never seen a 100% definitive answer to this question, however, this is what I and a bunch of other peopel did and never got the update:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11341224&postcount=46
(p.s. I'm running Phiremod now, so it's a non issue, but I went a few weeks like this and never had any problems).
Hola XDA <3 So I had fun rooting and loading custom kernals on the nook color, now I have the Iconia tab a500 and I want taboony.
I have a few questions before I begin. Firstly, how do I go about backing up the device before I begin? Just in case I want to go back when 3.2 comes out. I would also like to do a complete wipe. Want a complete fresh start before I load it up.
Then, is this the right order for the next steps?
root device - using rooter method from forums with the apk file?
install custom kernal - richardtrip kernal?
install taboony - taboony 2.0?
and bam I'm good to go? Just got this tablet and pretty big chunk of pay went to it, so I dont want to screw it up. Info is sorta scattered so I'm just triple checking before I begin.
Thanks in advance!

I always flash rom first, then the kernal.

Agreed. Flashing ROM after Richardtrip's kernel will leave you with Taboonay's kernel.
what about backing up so I can revert to original before I do that? I'd like to have a seperate SD card contain the stock rom before I start. And thanks for the info!

The Acer recovery from the market is what you want, it has the Thor recovery built in.
Iconia A500 3.2 update - Bee with Exclamation sign above.
Im running the update and when the device reboots and as it progresses a honeycomb bee with a triangular sign with an Exclamation mark in it appears...
The installation does not progress any further and i have no idea what to do. I can reset my system but it says update fails and continues on 3.1.
Any ideas/thought/suggestions?
I have the same problem !

If you care about root and having CWM installed I would not update to stock 3.2 using OTA. Just grab one of the 3.2 updates in the development thread so you can retain root. But if just want plain stock 3.2 and you have CWM installed, you need to revert back to the stock recovery first otherwise it will fail.

OK, thanks
Same problem wihout root. Any suggestions what the problem could be?
im thinking if it's because you have a rooted device? I had the same thing. But do not ever update to 3.2 OTA. I would recommend a stock rooted 3.2 in the Development thread. Easy flash. Flying rom.

Although this is an old thread, I think other solutions for those who were not rooted were to make sure you have an sdcard entered... I think....
Where did he state that? I haven't seen that.

Just to be clear. You installed a ROM that was made for the GTab, and not made for the A500, or you installed a custom ROM for the A500 based off of the GTab?
I own an A500 but I installed a custom Rom based off the GTab
I got the ICS update this morning, rebooted when it told me to, but now I am stuck on the Acer logo for the past hour. Any idea if I should wait longer or try somethign else?

I was stupid and didn't do a backup in CWM before I did this so I am just blowing it all away and reloading a stock rom if I can find it. Then I will try again.

Could you please say what kinda file that is?
It is a stock HC3.2.1 for a Gen1 a500. It got me back to stock. Then it pulled updates but none were the ICS update I was looking for. Since I have cwm on here I am debating just installing an ICS ROM and be done with it.

Were you on official HC 3.2.1?
As far as I know. All I had done to it was root and install cwm. But no rom was installed.

so this will get me back to stock without having cwm then?
No I kept CWM when I loaded it. But it will get you back to a working a500 if you were stuck at the acer logo like I was.
i got no issue with that, made a backup so i can go back to my flexreaper ics all the time...i just tried to find a stock rom that makes the updates kick in, but so far, i stuck on all roms at acer bootscreen....i just downloaded the ww31, and same here...put on sd, can install but stuck...
downloaded and installed, but got no updates at all and i lost root and cwm
Odd, but cool, thing is I finally got the ICS update automatically Sunday. Now I am rocking my a500 with ICS and got it rooted again so I can use my Titanium Backup.
