Is there 802.11N on HD2 in Android?
The hardware in the HD2 does support 802.11N and FM transmission. You can activate and use that hardware in WM via a registry tweak. I am really not sure of Android. I dont think android on HD2 supports that though. The problem should be getting Android to recognize the hardware and use it,since Android on HD2 is not native.
Thanks
I just changed my router to only "802.11N" and guess what... It works fine from my HD2. My non "N" devices dont connect to the router like that, but my HD2 with SD Android has no problem.
I am using SD Android:
[5/Sept/'11]-[SD/MAG][JaguarMIUI-15][ACA823][GB 2.3.5][WWE+RTL]-[SENSE 3 LOCK ]
I had a feeling I was getting better coverage since I had changed my router. Nice to know why!

Hi, I found no post solving this problem, if there is any I am sorry I just couldn't find it...
I have a HTC Touch which reboots when I try to use a LEAP-enabled wireless network (as othersin this forum have reported).
But I have a friend on the same place with an HTC P3600, and he does connect fine here.
The touch is based on OMAP850. This page shows it connected to a 'WiLink mWLAN'device.
http://focus.ti.com/general/docs/wt...00&path=templatedata/cm/product/data/omap_850
Following this link there is a page with WiLink 4.0, 5.0 and 6.0. Both 4.0 and 5.0 are FM-enabled, so the touch must use 4.0. Also, the touch is b/g only (no A), so I assumed it uses the WL1251 chip.
http://focus.ti.com/general/docs/wt...=4711&DCMP=WTBU&HQS=PlatformGuide+PR+wilink_4
By looking at the P3600 specs (b/g), it should be using the same chip:
http://www.htc.com/www/product.aspx?id=470
From what I could find, both processors are ARM9 also.
Since my wireless card IS working fine on all the networks I tried, I assume it's some software problem (as far as I know LEAP is just authentication, no hardware support needed). If the wireless chips are the same this is for sure.
So I was thinking. It is possible to 'copy' the wireless part of the P3600 and 'paste' into the touch?
I understand I could cook a rom with that, or maybe just copy the files from my friend's device to mine, but I don't know what files I should copy...
ANY help greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Do we have any news about this problem?
I have a Elfin and also cannot access my network using LEAP.. The cell just reboot...
Is there any client or software that can be installed to authenticate with LEAP on wireless network?
Hi everyone, im new here
I just got my X10 yesterday. Now I have a problem on using wifi in my univ campus.
The wireless network is encrypted with WPA2-Enterprise. However I can't find wpa2-enterprise option in the wifi configuration, only wpa2-personal. It seems like wpa2-enterprise is supported by android, since my HTC Hero can work with wpa2-enterprise.
Is there any way around to let wifi in X10 work with wpa2-enterprise?
thx~
It seems really X-10 it is not yet an enterprise phone.
I need to use wep in my company with key index 3 and there is no way to select itnly the default 1.
theoretically android 1.6 supports wpa enterprise, but dunno why doesnt work on our x10
Hello guys,
I got a question about Wifi on the current android builds.
To start, im using radio 2.12.50.02_2 witch is decent. And im running Mdeejay eVo Sense v. 1.2.
Everything is working fine on 2.4Ghz networks but @ home I got a 5Ghz network because everything is capable of running on this. The HD2 running WinMob 6.5 (energy rom) is also working on it but on android I don't see the network so I figured the driver isn't capable of working with 5Ghz.
Any news on this? I like to use my own network and not the unsecured network from my neighbor haha.
Krgs,

what channel is your router on?
Try changing the channel of the Wifi router settings.. for me it worked on the FroyoStone with the latest kernel
I think the router is on AUTO regarding channels.
what setting are you guys using ?
In your Router's settings try modifying the Channel to 1-10 except 11 (Not sure), if that failed then in your router's settings there must be something to switch the Frequency of the Wi-fi radio..
Good luck with your router
Does the HD2 support N signals? Because my HD2 doesn't detect my N-router at all. Let alone connect to it..
edit: nevermind, googled it and read about the N-hack, nice!
all devices at market with n support , supports only 2.4 ghz not 5ghz , as listed at the specification sheet of (iphone 4 , galaxy s , and the chip in hd2 , evo , nexus , desire , incrediable and desire hd )
Thought I would post here as people here (HTC Hd2) might have an idea.
I have HTC HD2 running WM6.5 I'm normally able to connect to various laptops using the HTC wireless router no problems.
I have just bought a Samsung Galaxy Tablet 10.1 (Android) and it can not see the HTC - I note from other threads that this was because the HTC creates an AD Hoc network and android can't see these? (don't really understand the technical issues there!)
I have tried manually setting up a wireless network using settings on my laptop when that is connected but the Tab did not like the settings I used.
Any advice on how to manually setting the network up?

not sure if it'll work for you, but you could try 'WiFi Thether' app
WIFI tethering is from an android OS phone that creates a wifi hotspot that you can then hook up your wifi laptop to.
HTC HD2 phone running wm6.5 has an ad hoc network and that is what the android Tablet can't see.
So I need to work out how the android tablet can see the wm6.6 ad hoc network

oops, somehow did not realise it's the opposite direction, shame on me for overseeing the obvious...
anyway, I had no problem connectiong my CM variation to ad-hoc network on Win XP laptop, so maybe your problem is device-specific,
maybe you'll find some useful ideas here (post 11 ?)
Has anyone figured out a way to connect to a WiFi AdHoc network (created by MyWi on iOS or Barnacle on Android) from an HD2 running WP7 or any other WP7 phone for that matter?
I tried the HIDDEN_WIFI.xap tweak but it's not helping, thanks !
dual boot and use android
Yeah, well the problem is that my Tmobile USA HD2's GSM radio is basically useless in France (signal very low) so that's not really an option.
